Chapter 8- Trouble
It had been a week since everyone in the club found out Rin and Len's secret. What was funny is nothing changed, we treated them the same and let the club room be a place that they could actually be a couple like Akaito and I. Over the week we have been getting ready for the performance that we were doing tomorrow after school. All of our songs were picked and we were ready except for me. The performance was going to be my first solo and I was a little scared.
During club the day before the performance we were getting everything for the performance ready. For this performance we were all dressing up, I was in a red strapless dress with ruffles at the bottom that went to below my knees with black lace around the top. Hatsune was in a white dress that made her look like she was a new bride. IA was in a pink dress that covered her shoulders and went down to a little above her knee with a slit going a little ways up the seam. Luka and Gumi were in black dresses since they were singing with each other that were strapless and went to their ankles with a slit that went up the seam to their knees. Rin was in a white sun dress with Len in a white dress shirt and black dress pants. Akaito, Kaito, and Kamui were in old style yukatas that were blue with white writing on the back of them. Everyone was excited but I was getting more scared by the minute.
The song I was singing was the love song that I sang with Akaito and since both the male and female parts could be sang by one person it worked for me. I was going over the lyrics in my head then Akaito and Hatsune walked up to me.
"Miku it's time to go" Hatsune informed me.
I looked around to see that everyone had left for home except Akaito, Hatsune, and IA. I was so concentrated on the song lyrics that I didn't notice people leaving. I grabbed my stuff then all of us left the club room and headed home. On the way home everyone was teasing me for "zoning out."
"You really didn't notice people leaving" IA asked with a small laugh.
"Yeah, I was too into the song I am singing that I didn't notice" I answered with a slight glare at IA.
Hatsune and IA started to laugh a little bit then I gave them a confused look.
"You're doing the same thing all of us did our first solo" Hatsune said when she stopped laughing.
"Are you scared or anything" Akaito asked while grabbing my hand.
"Yes" I said with a slight blush on my face.
"Well you're going to do great" everyone said in unison.
My blush got bigger then I smiled at everyone. We walked to my house then we all came in. IA was there to hangout with Hatsune and I and Akaito stayed to help with dinner. We slipped off our shoes then then we went upstairs to my room to do our homework. Once we were done with our homework it was almost time for my mom to start making dinner. Akaito gave me a quick kiss on the cheek then went downstairs to help my mom. IA, Hatsune, and I stayed upstairs to talk.
"Well you and Akaito look like you're getting along well" IA said.
"Yeah, Akaito can be so sweet" I said with a slight blush and smile looking at my door.
"How is everything going with him and his dad" Hatsune asked.
I looked back at Hatsune and my face started to get a saddened look.
"Since he's over here a lot his dad has been more aggressive towards him" I said almost about to cry.
"Scumbag, I wish I could slug him once or twice" IA said while punching her fist into her other hand.
"Join the club" Hatsune and I said at the same time.
IA looked at us then laughed.
"I swear you two act more like sisters than cousins" she said while smiling at us.
Hatsune and I looked at each other then started to laugh with IA. IA knew how to change the subject to something funnier to make people feel better and that made me glad she was Hatsune's best friend. We laughed for a few minutes then Akaito called us down for dinner. We got up and walked downstairs and was surprised by what we saw. The kitchen table was covered in bowls of teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, rice, and egg rolls. We all sat down at the table with IA almost drooling. Akaito brought in the final part of dinner followed by my mom, he had a cake with white frosting with strawberries arranged in a circle on top with writing in the middle of the strawberries. In black lettering it said "Good Luck Tomorrow." Seeing the writing made my face warm up and a smile crept on my face. When my mom and Akaito sat down we started to eat. As we ate we talked and laughed and had a good time. I almost completely forgot about the performance then we started to eat the cake and I remembered. Once we finished the cake we laid around for a little bit then IA, Hatsune, and Akaito went home. I spent some time with my mom then when she and I got tired we went to bed.
I woke up the next morning and jumped up and got dressed. When I went downstairs Hatsune and Akaito weren't there, my mom wasn't even there and that shocked me. I went to school and on the way to school I didn't see anyone. The school building seemed empty. The entire day I walked around the school not seeing anyone. At the end of the day when I went past the front entrance I heard the sound of guys laughing and a cat meowing in pain. When I turned the corner there was a group of guys throwing rocks at a little kitten. Without thinking I ran towards the guys and took the rocks out of their hands. The guys looked back and I could see a weird sense of lust in their eyes. I started to walk back until I was pressed against the school wall. One of the guys grabbed my arms and pinned me to the wall. Another one grabbed my shirt and ripped my shirt open exposing my bra. The last one went to grab my chest and I screamed bloody murder since the words "help" wouldn't come out of my mouth. I was hoping someone would hear and come help me. When the guy touched my chest he lifted up my skirt and with a final scream my eyes opened.
I sat up in my bed holding my head and started crying into my hands. The sobs echoed through my room then I heard my mom run upstairs. When she opened my door she was with Akaito and Hatsune.
"Sweetie what's wrong" My mom asked while giving me a very concerned look.
Through the sobs I was able to get a few words out.
"I had a nightmare" I answered then continued to cry.
My mom went up to me and sat on my bed then hugged me and combed her fingers through my hair. My mom looked at Akaito and Hatsune then gave them a smile.
"Akaito could you go finish making breakfast, Miku could you go with him and help in my place" she asked them both.
Both of them shook their head to show that they agreed then headed downstairs. Once they were gone it was just my mom and I sitting there with me hugging her and crying on her chest. She gently stroked my head then I lifted my head up off her chest. I started to get up then I gathered my clothes together and started to get dressed. I still had tears going down my face when I finished changing.
"Sweetie what was it about" she asked while patting the spot on my bed next her.
I walked over to my bed then sat next to her.
"I was at my school all alone then I met up with this group of guys and they were about to do horrible things to me then I woke up when one of them lifted up my skirt" I answered almost about to start sobbing again.
My mom pulled me close and embraced me in the warmest hug.
"If that ever happens all you need to do is yell the name of the boy downstairs who cares about you very much" she whisper in my ear.
I looked at my door then thought of Akaito, the thought of him brought a smile to my face. Once I was feeling better my mom and I went downstairs to eat breakfast. Hatsune and Akaito had finished making breakfast and were eating by the time we got to the table. My mom and I sat down in our spots then we grabbed some food. The room was silent while we ate and it felt a little awkward. Hatsune finally chimed up and started to joke around with me and Akaito. After that we joked around and laughed until we had to go to school. We slipped our shoes on then headed towards school. The entire walk to school it looked like Akaito wanted to ask me about my dream but he stopped before he did. When we got to school Akaito and I went to the nurses office to let the nurse look at his leg. Once we finished with that we both went towards our homeroom. As I reached for the door a few tears escaped my eyes when my nightmare went through my head. Akaito noticed and wrapped me in a hug then he started to walk towards the roof with my hands in his.
When we got to the roof Akaito stood over the railing looking off into the distance. I walked up next to him then rested my head on his shoulder. With my eyes closed I started to tell Akaito about my nightmare, as I told him my head replayed it. With the final part I opened my eyes and the tears started to flow down my face. Akaito put his arm around my waist and rested his head on mine.
"That won't ever happen, I won't let it" Akaito said.
I moved my head and looked up at Akaito, I leaned up and kissed him on the lips and he kissed me back.
"Thank you" I said as we separated from our kiss.
We stood there on the roof for a little while and I felt so warm and safe with his arm around me. It felt like while he was here nothing bad could happen to me. The bell went off but we ignored it and kept looking off the roof into the distance. After ten minutes we headed down to homeroom, Mr. Yamada gave us a odd look then had us just go to our seats. When I got to my seat Hatsune was giving me a concerned look since you could tell I was crying. I smiled back at her then mouthed "I'm okay." Homeroom went by fast then Hatsune, Akaito, and I went to P.E. which I was looking forwards to, for the past week we have been swimming in the pool. Once Mr. Yamada came in and blew his whistle we went outside to the pool. The guys and girls went to the different changing rooms and got changed. In the girls changing room everyone was comparing themselves to each other. They were comparing stupid things like boob size and their underwear. I didn't want to talk about that stuff so I changed and got out of the changing room. I was wearing a white bikini which was the only one I had. I waited by the pool with my feet swaying in the water then I heard Akaito coming towards me. He was in a pair of black swim trunks and I blushed looking at him. What was funny is that he was doing the same thing when I looked at me. After five minutes everyone was in their swimsuits and waiting by the pool. All the club members were dressed in swimsuits that made the class stare and I was no exception. Kaito and Kamui were in the same swim trunks as Akaito but the girls were fixated on their bare chest. Hatsune was in a blueish green bikini with the bottom having a skirt sewn into it. IA was in a black bikini that made skin look white. Rin was in a Yellow one piece that made her look so innocent and Len was in a pair of yellow swim trunks with red flames around the bottom of the pant legs. As soon as Mr. Yamada blew his whistle everyone jumped in the pool. Because of the performance Mr. Yamada let us play water soccer, we all had a lot of fun. Ten minutes before class ended Mr. Yamada let us change back into our clothes and once we were done the bell rang.
Sadly the rest of the day wasn't as much fun as P.E.. It went by fast and the part of the day I was scared of was finally here, the performance. The lyrics to the song I was singing were getting mixed up in my head. The gym was packed again and all of us were behind the curtain. Instead of Mr. Yamada handing out headsets he gave us microphones. My heart was pounding out of my chest and it felt like my first performance.
Mr. Yamada stepped out from behind the curtain in his normal clothes with a microphone in his hand.
"Welcome everyone to another one of our glorious performances" Mr. Yamada said with a huge smile.
"I'm not going to take up to much time, so let me introduce to you Rin and Len" Mr. Yamada continued then went back behind the curtain.
Rin and Len walked out from behind the curtains with their microphones in their hands, they looked so nice next to each other. Len grabbed Rin's hand and they started to sing a soft sounding song while hand in hand. Together they sounded so nice when they harmonized and I could feel their feelings for each other with ever word they sang. Once they finished their song the both of them bowed then wazed at the crowd. With one last bow they went back into the curtains then hugged each other. Mr. Yamada then went through the curtains and went to announce the next performance.
"The next up will be the trio you all love, Akaito, Kaito, and Kamui" Mr. Yamada said then walked through the curtain.
Akaito, Kaito, and Kamui walked out of the curtain then all the girls in the room swooned. They started to sing a song that was fast paced and the lyrics sounded so sweet. I had my attention on Akaito watching him get into the song, it looked like he really like to sing. A few minutes went by and they finished their song and went back behind the curtain.
Over the next half hour the rest of the club sang their song then it was my turn. I was announced then I went onto the stage. The music started and my mind went blank and I forgot all the lyrics. I stood there with the microphone in my hands almost shaking from being nervous.
"She's freezing" Hatsune said with concern in her voice.
Akaito got changed out of his yukata then with microphone in hand he walked on the stage.
"I was lost, I was broken" he sang while walking towards me.
I realized what he was doing then the lyrics came back into my hand.
"I was confused, I was blind" I sang the girl part.
"Unable to see what was in front of me" I continued to sing
"I felt backed into a corner with no way out, then I saw a light" Akaito and I sang in unison.
"The light of your smile" we continued to sing then smiled at each other.
We continued to sing until the music finally stopped. I dropped my right hand with the mic in it to my side then took my left hand and put it on Akaito's cheek. We kissed and all the girls squealed then we went behind the curtains. When we were behind the curtains I took a breath of relief. The rest of the club went up to me and patted me on the back.
"You did great" everyone said in unison.
It was a hour after the performance and all of us were getting changed back into our normal clothes. I got changed first and since Akaito was helping Kaito, Kamui, and Mr. Yamada I decided to take a walk around the school building. It was peaceful as I walked around the school until I heard three guys laughing and the familiar sound of a cat crying. I froze in where I was standing then my dream flooded back into my head. I had a strong sensation to run but I found myself walking towards the group of guys. When I got close to them I grabbed one of their arms right before he was about to throw a rock at the little black cat. He looked at me then grabbed my other arm and threw me towards the cat.
"You got a problem with us girlie" the guy who threw me said.
"Leave the poor thing alone, it's just a kitten" I yelled at him as I got up.
One of the other guys pushed me towards the wall and pinned me by putting his forearm against my neck. The one who threw me went back to throwing rocks at the cat.
"Stop it" I yelled at him while trying to break free of his friend.
"What, do you want to be our new play thing" the last guy said with a evil grin.
The last guy pulled a knife out of his pocket and came towards me. He had the guy pinning me put my hands above my head. He took his knife and slowly slid it down my shirt to open it, my bra and bare stomach was showing. He went to touch my chest and the words my mom told me went through my head.
"If that ever happens all you need to do is yell the name of the boy downstairs who cares about you very much."
I took a big breath in then yelled as loud as I could.
"Akaito!"
The guy with the knife stopped going for my chest and started to laugh at me then gave me a evil look.
"Is that your boyfriend or someth…." he said but was cut off when a clenched fist hit him in the side of the face.
The guy went sailing back then crashed into the ground. Standing in front of me was Akaito with a very pissed look on his face. The guy on the ground looked at his friends.
"Forget the girl, get the guy" he yelled at them.
The guy holding my hands let go and went to punch Akaito. Akaito ducked down then shot his fist up smashing it into the bottom of the guy's chin. The guy stumbled back and hit the wall next to me then slid down the wall. The guy who was throwing the rocks had a small bolder in his hands and was about to hit Akaito in the back of the head with it. He was stopped when a kick to the head knocked him back. Standing between Akaito and the guy was Kaito who was getting ready to kick the guy in the shin. The three guys looked at Akaito and Kaito who were standing back to back. I could hear running footsteps coming towards us. From the corner of the school the rest of the club Including Mr. Yamada stood there looking at what was going on.
"All of you stop fighting at once" Mr. Yamada yelled not necessarily at us but the guys who were fighting with us.
Mr. Yamada got close to us then saw that my shirt had been cut open and that one of the guys had a knife near him. Mr. Yamada facial expression turned from shocked to angry. He walked over to the boy with the knife and picked him up by the collar then looked at the other boys.
"Principal's office now" he said with no emotion on his face.
He looked at us then softened his face and smiled.
"Akaito and Kaito I'll need you to come with me as well" he ordered softly.
Akaito and Kaito did as he said and went with the guys to the principal's office. Before Mr. Yamada left he picked up the kitten then walked up to me. He handed me the cat then whispered in my ears.
"That was a brave thing to do for such a small animal."
He smiled at me then started to follow the guys to the principal's office. Before he turned the corner he looked back at me.
"When you're doing alright come to the principal's office" he said then disappeared behind the corner.
When he left the rest of the club ran up to me. Len had a jacket on so he took it off and put it on me. I quickly put it on and zipped it up so my bare skin wasn't showing. Hatsune hugged me and it seemed like she was going to do the crying for me.
"Are you okay" IA asked while hugging me as well.
"Yeah I'm okay" I answered her then looked at Hatsune who had her head buried in my shoulder.
I put my right hand that wasn't holding the cat on her head.
"Miku I'm alright so you can let go now" I said then giggled.
Hatsune lifted her head up then let go of me. I started to relax and let what just happened fade from my mind so I handed Hatsune the cat and headed towards the principal's office.
