Iris: Wow, I have to say guys, I am very pleased with all the comments so far. Most of them are nice supporting comments and some are constructive crittisdtujrtujf argh, however you spell that (sigh, I am SO glad Frosty is here! *Frosty Uh...*), so really, I feel really good right now. (Seriously, I read a really long one and felt really bad for not updating for a long time. (Frosty: (-_-) *falling asleep*) To make up for it, I am posting extra long chapters for some time, with extra long author notes...) So there you have it, and bear with us as we try to cram all this writing into our time.

Frosty: Ugh, I had something written here before, but then if we updated it like that, it would make absolutely no sense 'cause I had written that like five month ago! Talk about a late update... But to all those people who read this (I don't think there are lots, are there?) here's a chapter, and a chapter is a chapter which is a chapter which is a chapter etc. :D Anyways enjoy this special chapter (not really that special, just feel like calling it that ;D) from the amazing Cerberus! Come over here, you furry... fluffy... puppy... ish... doggy... dog! *Annoyed Cerberus bites off Frosty's head* Nice doggy! ;P Anyways, anyways, Cerberus gets his spotlight time...Or does he? Before this gets too long of a note (though didn't Iris want those or something?) this story is now officially a...story?

Iris: If you're gonna start talking about the rest of your whole entire life, tell me because I will too! XD (Frosty: ... Sure? P.S. Just when do you think my "whole entire life" can be spelled out in about 7 sentences!?) It still takes up a lot of space though... (Frosty: Well, it did before I took out a lot of the stuff, 'cause most of it were things for August, which you can see it has passed, except for the fact I started writing this in August and tried to publish it earlier... and failed... Another P.S. Iris backwards is Siri! And, uh, Frosty backwards is Ytsorf. Um...and Feather is Rehtaef... Wait a minute, why do I have two names!?)

Splashpaw: Feathersky said the same thing about the Cerberuses! But don't worry about Frosty's favorite (:D) little doggy! We (or more like Iris, 'cause Frosty has on idea what's going on anymore and I'm obviously not Iris...since I'm saying I'm not right now...) So anyways, Iris has a plan for it. *notices a particular dog glaring at Iris* Um...Iris, what did you do to Cerberus!? *insert random evil laugh here* MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Wait, what...?

Anii: Wow! Long, long, LONG review! :D :D :D Happy Frosty here! (And, well, I would guess, happy Iris's too!) Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Heh, Iris originally wrote the story and I guess it is a cliffie...of sorts...Yeah, the warriors do live by the lake, or the lake territories (reference from the warriors app ;D) or whatever you want to call it. But traveling to the Warriors Lake doesn't sound as good as the forest. :D (Am I adding too many smiley faces...?) Besides, there is a forest (ThunderClan/ShadowClan territory) beside the lake too, right? And the forest territories wasn't even actually all forest (RiverClan/WindClan)! Mm, well, Cerberus is a special thing. I think we'll get to it later in the story (holding the suspense). Oh yes, Rainstorm the flying cat! Haha! I think Iris said something about that she will be forced wings later in the story...? Not really sure, but I'll go with yes, so look forward to it! Hey, long reply to match the long review! :D (extra smiley face!)

Guest: ;D Wow, Iris was just saying a few days ago she wasn't sure if she wanted them to fight or flight (don't you think it's a nice rhyme? :D) But it should be revealed in this chapter (the Frosty who is failing at trying to be suspenseful and pretending like you can't just scroll down and read...)

Feathersky1357: Yeah, I think Sky's coming with the Seven. And about Cloud... *asks Iris about Cloud* Yeah...I don't think she really wants me to say anything right now about that... *looks at date you reviewed* June 14th... Hmm, well that's not too bad, I mean, today is only already January. WAIT, JUNE!? *dead, fainted Frosty on ground* Such a late update... (says a dead Frosty that is currently being stepped on by some people who haven't noticed her)

Frosty: Oka-ay... After that, here's the great and wonderful (Yep. *bored Frosty* Real great and wonde- *yawn* wonderfuuuu- *sleeping Frosty*) story.

Iris- Oh my, time sure flies with Frosty... (*Frosty: Wha? And tell me Iris, why is this A/N 800+ words!?*)

Cerberus grinned a terrible wolfish smile, fur rising up along his back rippling as if the wind was brushing his fur, cooing to him and whispering the same pleasure he was feeling. It made his smile broaden a bit, which just made the Seven's eyes widen even more than he thought it was possible, their huge eyes bulging out of their sockets. The breeze continuously strolled across his pelt, tranquilly murmuring. But it wasn't even the least calm. The wind seemed to be tearing and screaming at the Seven, howling, "Danger, danger!," and Cerberus knew it, but he just licked his chops, showing his viciously sharp fangs, and how he was dangerously close to using them to teach the Seven a real lesson, a real fight, and how a true battler fought.

But he could be patient. He had always been. He would wait to see what they would do. He would play with them to see how the Seven really fought and thought. Were they really the great and powerful chosen ones? Judging from their sizes and wide, shocked eyes, they looked more like a badly sorted band of orphans lost in the big, wide cruel world. It was perfect, wasn't it? It was a great way to see what they were doing in the outside world, if they survived, which apparently they did, or not, all the while testing their skills. Those guardians were supposed to teach them fighting moves and their powers, right? Powers...What type of powers did they possess? Would they use them now? Oh, he couldn't wait.

The black dog's mouth hung open like a flooded cave, thick drool dripping down his razor edged teeth, forming gooey puddles that seeped in between his paws, crusting dried meat and blood in slobber. Casually, he licked his paw as the Seven tensely prepared for a volley of attacks. But he didn't. Not yet at least. He could wait. His job was to test them and that was what he was going to do. Maybe scaring them first would be nice and a entertaining act he hadn't seen for some while. To see how they would react to fear, panic, spread, and flee, or to formulate a quick, sensible plan to attack. Either way, he was already prepared to their responses.

Gory pieces of tendon fell away from his paws as Cerberus rose up and bristled his ruffled battle-scarred fur, and laughed as they back stepped, ready to run. Well, most of them. Some seemed foolishly brave, even if they did know somewhere within that little brain that if they did come fighting face-to-face, that they would obviously lose. One, like the steaming gold griffin, who firmly planted her talons and stared defiantly at him, an open challenge plastered on her beak as she glared ferociously at him. The rest of them didn't have the same loathing look in their eyes like the griffin, most looked scared and timid, wanting to flee at the very moment and fly somewhere else.

Cerberus chuckled, his tones as deep as the fiery home he came from. Ah, the wonderful world of mythology. The Underworld was a perfect place for him to guard, any trespassers would be lucky to get away with their tail and ears, otherwise just another few bones to add to the pile. The rest of the group trembled slightly as he laughed at their insolence and puniness. So tiny, what was the prophet thinking when he made such a prophecy that included such failures? And then he noticed two indifferent ones, a miniature bird the size of his paw, and a dragon who stood with her friend, both thinking. Hmmm... these must be the ones who have sense...Well, a weird, special sort of sense.

Just then an uncanny butterfly passed by at the wrong moment, immediately having been unmercifully snapped up by the great jaws of the smug dog, pleased to see the face expressions of the Seven. Horror, shock, and fright. Fear for their lives and maybe a wondering expression how to leave without him following. These animals were such open books, so easy to read, every thought written clearly on their faces. Most, again most. The Seven seemed to have their own separate groups. The Sun-dog and alicorn were clearly ready to fly away any moment, the dragon looked like they were trying hard to figure out a way out of this mess, the phoenix looked like she wanted to pet his large, furry paw, and while the griffin and saber tooth tiger cat both looked as if they wanted to rip his muzzle off. As if their conceited paws could even get near touching him.

But oh, he would test them alright, he would give them enough wounds for that winged unicorn to heal. She'd be busy with that, finding herbs that haven't wilted in this freezing summer. Pfft, snowing summer. He had seen worse before, more exotic and actually worth seeing things. Those Seven, so surprised just over a gentle, to him, yes gentle, pouring of rain. Well, he wasn't here to discuss the Seven's strangeness. He just had to chase them into the right direction. The Portal. The portal their so-called destiny awaits in. Then he'd see how long they lasted. Those warrior kitties weren't as nice and fluffy as they looked. Automatically Cerberus swung his head around and glimpsed at a long, pale scar, a "gift" he had received when he entered their home forest. Ha, they paid for that. They paid for it well.

Idiotic cats. Why did the Seven even have to help them? Couldn't the warriors, oh, the great and powerful warriors, handle it by themselves? But destiny was destiny and fate was fate, so it was that way. Besides, Pyrrhia was a pretty decent place to be, only for vacations though, he much preferred the dark and gloomy river that lead a variety of animals all to his master. The heavy, thick scent of death would surround him and stroke his fur with one ghastly, black hand, curling and hissing smoke. Oh, what a place to call home. Though others most likely despised it, he loved it. The smell of rotting organisms and the chilling feeling of raw power as he denied some curious travelers entrance. That was where he belonged and he despised the open sunlight that he now was in. But that would hopefully just be for a bit if the Seven decided to cooperate.

A/N: Hey, it's already a bit past 1,000 words! And... excluding the first long author note...

The Seven all shivered in sync if front of him as the summer wind, which was still roaring loud, seem to grab them and play with the Seven. He watched in amusement as they hung of the grass, looking unsure what to do. He heard the dragon whisper something fiercely to the little phoenix, who was glaring at the cat with a look in her eyes that said and what do you think you're doing, idiot!? Yes, the stupid saber tooth was almost right beside his leg, claws unsheathed, and a paw length away from sinking them into him.

But he ignored her. Of course, what else would he do for such a pitiful little kitty cat? He perked his ears up and swiveled them to listen to what the dragon was saying. Something about counting to three and running, but was stopped in mid-word at 'run' as she caught him listening. Yes, run. Run and run to wherever you like, but he was ready to drive them back to the forest.

With shortened stiff breaths, the dragonet mumbled to the others and, for the first time he saw something worth noticing. Ah, he will be proud, and so will she. Just like a wave ganging up on seashore, the Seven puny animals lined up in a messy row and faced him, some intimidated and unsure, some raging with predictable attacks, yet all standing up side by side next to one another. Cerberus almost smiled, a piece of insect wing fluttering down from his hungry jowls, a symbol of lost hope. If they didn't succeed, the replacements would come in and fulfill the prophecy, whether they liked it or not.

Now about the replacements... they were useless as these Seven...but not for long...After all Cerberus's master had a plan for them to become perfect little minion tools, their brains blurred with only one mission, their eyes glassy without souls, but first... With a casual glance, Cerberus turned away from them for a fraction of a second and watched with amusement from the corner of his red eyes as the alicorn and sundog let out a breath of relief. Ha, what a shame. Without hesitation, the wrathful watchdog snapped his ebony head around toward the Seven and growled with a deep warning in his voice, "Number one: you don't ever turn your back on the attacker nor change your tactics." They blinked, once, twice, and then a third time.

And without warning Cerberus lept toward the Seven, their fates all tied up and resting in his claws, or rather his master's claws. If it had been his own decision now, most of the Seven wouldn't exist in the first place. Yet, he didn't even need to disobey his master in order to mess with the prophecy. Those fish-brained guardians already failed to find the seventh member of the prophecy. By now, that one last prophesied, legendary Seven, was probably already dead with it's skull somewhere along the River of Styx. He licked his chops in excitement, ready to push on with his powerful hind legs. But sadly, to his disappointment, a voice, specifically his master's rung through his head stopping him for a fraction of a second.

Cerberus, your orders were to direct the Seven, not intimidate them!

The black dog growled to himself, shaking his head in annoyance that he had been stopped, and shot back in his head, If I intimidate them, they are more likely to listen than to rebel! He glared inwardly at the voice remained silent for a second in rage, giving him some time to enjoy the silence of his master. For a moment, he briefly hoped he hadn't angered him. But then he let out a low snarl, frightening the Seven along the way, as he thought to himself how his master needed him to carry out his work on the world of the living.

Besides, we don't know what powers these little bugs could have... better to find out now than later... Right?

A/N: It's Feather's time to shine!

Feather narrowed her eyes into focus, ignoring a accidental jab in the ribs from Iris, trying to grab Rainstorm back from impulsively leaping onto the dog. Her own muscles tightened, ready to spring upon one form in the distance. Cerberus. And for a half of a half of a half of a second, she smiled inside, knowing what Iris would call the mythical animal. Cerberus the Big Black dog. But the cheesy grin soon faded away as raptor vision caught the blurred edges of the wolf's movements as his joints bended, bunching together to leap. But unlike her eyes, her voice was a fraction too late. And that didn't help at all.

"He's-"

But that was all that came out of Feather's mouth before she sputtered and choked on her own saliva as Cerberus bolted and teleported onto the green grass (which was immediately flattened by his big paws) seven feet in front of them. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Iris's jaw unhinging with disbelief and then straightening up with a hard edge. She blinked her eyes rapidly and repetitively as if she thought she was imagining the the bulky shape of the dog in front of them. Feather gulped, the lump in her throat falling along with her confidence when she saw Iris trying to fight off her shock and surprise.

The only time when she was ever suprised was when- Wait, she had to save that thought for later. Cerberus was already growling threateningly at their wavering attention, and curled his claws into the grass. It was his move now, would he attack or wait? Then Seven waited, and then Rainstorm broke out of the line to hiss at the dog before Fury snapped at her in a low voice. She dropped her tail sullenly, glaring at Cerberus with defiance and then snarled again. Feather felt a rush of worry for provoking the dog to attack and glanced at Iris, who was watching Cerberus carefully, to Rainstorm, who was scoffing and pawing impatiently at the ground. Apparently, she was eager to die.

To everyone's surprise, he did none of what was expected. He spoke instead, his booming voice echoing and shaking the trees and stones, all nearby animals stopping and listening intently at his spell bounding voice. Feather wished, for a moment, that she could be like Rainstorm, so that she could flatten her ears and tune down most of the loud, and very annoying, sound. Right now, the saber cat was doing just that, hissing "how it made her ears bleed" as Sundaze tried, and failed somehow, to do the same. Dew scrunched up her muzzle and then shook her head, as if it would help rid the loud, heart-thumping voice.

"My masters as you know, have laid upon your puny heads, a mission that should have been given to the elders, but was given to you for no good reason." Cerberus sighed dramatically, but continued in a bored voice," So fulfill the prophecy or I'll hunt you down personally and tear you apart into pieces small enough for snails to devour." Feather giggled before she knew it and Iris gave her a sidelong look, as if asking if she even realized that their lives where in danger. It wasn't her fault, it was just that snails were funny! Even Cerberus stopped for a moment, glancing at her. She cleared her throat and blinked innocently at Iris and Cerberus. Besides, their lives probably weren't in danger anymore if Cerberus didn't attack. She looked away to see Dew with a grin appearing on her face.

Cerberus eyes on her disappeared as quickly as they came, but Feather had already turned her eyes back onto him and her eyes stayed there. The more and more she looked, the more and more Cerberus looked like a stuffed teddy bear. Such a cute, adorable puppy! And when they got home, though she had no idea which home she was talking about: the once they had self-made and were camping out in, the one the guardians raised them in, or the one she was born in. Anyways, once they got to the which-ever-one-it-is home, she would plead Iris for a dog like Cerberus! Oh wait, she was off topic again. But furry, fuzzy doggies... Oh, uh, no, concentrate on the Cerberus in front of you. Y'know, horrible, infernal Cerberus. Feather clacked her beak and out on her most serious face her could have.

Iris had turned away from her too, studying Cerberus to see if he had any weak spots. Feather then squinted her eyes suspiciously at the dog wolf calmly licking his jaws, his sleek fur rippling in the wind. Staring at Cerberus, she had saw how careful his movements were with his silent, loud paw steps that rumbled and broke the earth's floor and didn't cause the lightest thread of grass to whisper all at once. Iris seemed to realize something was wrong too, judging from the intent look in her eyes, scanning the entire dog for any shows of a threat. Cerberus glanced at them with an uninterested huff. Rainstorm's fur bristled in her peripheral vision. The saber tooth cat had curled her lips back, sensing the quietness as a sign of danger. Her claws unsheathed slowly.

Fury quickly leaned over and hissed a few words in her ears. Rainstorm glared daggers at her and then turned that glare to Cerberus. Without warning, the saber cat sprang onto Cerberus, snagging her long sharp claws into the wolf dog's paw and as he turned in surprise to her, she had already fled over to the opposite end of the meadow, snarling tauntingly at him. The dog stared uncomprehendingly at her for a moment, as if disbelieving a little worm could attack a giant beast. Rainstorm, well, she had other ideas apparently.

Iris let out a yelp of shock as her eyes finally registered the sight. Cerberus charged over to the saber tooth cat and was about to sink his claws into the cat when the color changing dragon called over the roaring wind, "Help Rainstorm! Quick!" She sped to the wolf dog, and then flew up before blowing fire onto the dog. Cerberus realized this, and leaped out of the position he was a second ago. The fire smoldered immediately in the drizzling rain.

Fury, with her fast instincts, raced over too, flying alongside Iris, hissing in the air, avoiding Cerberus's tries at scratching her. As she prayed for the rain to stop, Feather, Dew, and Sundaze ran to the battlefield. Dew had launched herself into the air as well, seeing that was the safest place to be, but before doing that, touched her ice horn to the ground, turning the grassland to an ice rink. Sundaze snapped on her makeshift wings and flew, slowly at first, but then quicker as Feather propped the Sundog by one of her shoulders.

A/N: Frosty: Yeah... This is the point where I just realized I left Sky out of all this... So you can have the joy about seeing how Sky gets included this late in the story...

Her eyes flew across the vast meadow and landed on Rainstorm, who was in desperate needs of a pair of wings herself. Cerberus had seen that attacking the winged ones were useless and had targeted Rainstorm. Something struck her, and then whispered urgently over to Sundaze. The Sundog gave Feather an unsure look but looked as if she was trying anyways. The sun appeared, but the rain didn't stop. Sundaze glanced at Feather apologetically. She sighed, then suddenly realizing, Where the stars is Sky!? Oh wait, don't tell me she's asleep! Feather laughed dryly. "Iris..." She said. "Let's get Sky..."

The dragon looked up in confusion, then guilt flashed across her snout as she too realized that they had forgotten about the thunderbird. "Oh..." Iris said, with a horrified expression that Sky was left alone. And on the ground! "I'll go get her." She volunteered and darted to the ground. Cerberus turned around as Iris flew into the den, dashing in quickly and then dashing out again with a thunderbird on her shoulders, just freshly awoken. With a grunt, Iris shoved Sky off and the thunderbird uncurled her own wings.

"There was mice! Lightning mice! They tasted as delicious as lightning! I mean, I've never tasted lightning before, or even heard of lightning mice, but, oh, they were so good..." She licked her beak dreamily, and then stared of into the horizon with a sigh o longing. Lightning mice, Feather thought. Just what does lightning mice taste like? Like lightning, or mice? Both? An entirely new taste? Ooh... Dew glared sternly at the bird. Apologetic, Feather smiled.

"Skylight." She said, and then with a deep sigh, spilled out everything in one sentence and in one breath. "There was a big dog named Cerberus from the Underworld and from the River of Styx who came and threatened us about fulfilling the prophecy which apparently he was really forceful about it 'cause he said something about snails and snails are forceful so then Feather laughed and Iris thought and Fury and Sundaze and I did nothing while Rainstorm hissed and hissed and became stupid enough to attack him so Cerberus attacked too so we all attacked and then realized you were asleep and Iris came to get you and now we're here and Rainstorm's going to die soon!"

A/N: Long sentence for Dew... Heh...

"Poor Rainstorm." Sky huffed grumpily, as if this was just a story Dew was making up. "What happens next; can she please get eaten? It'll let me go back to sleep."

Dew opened her jaws, and then closed them, looking outraged. "How can you say that!?" She cried, maybe thinking Sky wasn't joking. "Rainstorm is our friend! Besides, I wanted to see her fly with the wings Iron made. I've been dreaming and dreaming about it! And it's going to happen; Rainstorm's gonna fly one day!" Iris exchanged a look with Fury, and then the two flew off, muttering and whispering ideas to each other.

Quick Fury POV:

They're spending their time bickering again... Fury didn't know how to deal with such creatures! Dew was growling at Sky at what an 'abhorrent' bird she was. Sundaze was arguing with the alicorn and the thunderbird, though they didn't pay her much attention and Feather was keeping watch on Rainstorm, to warn them if Cerberus made a sudden move. And, of course, also impatiently snapping at Sundaze about why they shouldn't just go and bite the black dog's ear. "How about we all attack Cerberus, flying, and allow Rainstorm to run?" Fury hissed into Iris's ear.

The color changing dragon thought deeply for a moment, considering the possibilities, then replied, "That wouldn't work. If we know Rainstorm at all, she wouldn't leave and run, but fight back too. We need to think of how to get her out of there, quietly." Iris led Fury over to the distance and then leaned downward, flying onto the ground. She landed and began scraping a sketchy, faint outline of a plan onto the muddy, wet soil...

Quick Sundaze's POV:

"Sundaze, quick, Iris got a plan." Feather called. Before she even spoke, the phoenix said, "Fury's going to dive in and pretend to attack Cerberus. While he's distracted, Iris and Dew are going to swoop in and grab Rainstorm. If Cerberus turns around, which I'm sure he will, then the rest of us will dive in too. This is going to be a battle we're going to win! Ready, Sundaze!?" The Sundog nodded eagerly and flew to Feather, concentrating hard on flying and not falling.

Suddenly, Dew shrieked in surprise. Turning around, the Sundog saw Cerberus charging away from Rainstorm. He was growling furiously and shaking his head savagely, looking more crazed than ever. His eyes were dyed crimson red and glowing angrily. Froth had formed at his mouth, dripping with saliva. Rainstorm had backed away a few pawsteps, but then came to her senses and fled. The large black dog hissed at her, yet did nothing as he stood slightly off on the side. He looked driven with rage, and trying hard to fight against something...

Quick Cerberus's POV ;D

Master, you're insane, these little bugs think they can defeat the almighty powerful Lord of the Underworld!

Cerberus clenched his jaws together with a audible crunch that caused the cowering cat under him to cringe and sprint away at high speed toward the safety of her friends. Then she seemed to change her mind and sped toward him again. The cat tripped over a loose rock. The wolf laughed hoarsely, his voice giving away. He would win the battle no matter what. A small siege like this would soon shape itself into war and Cerberus would be there to watch it all happen, the murdered draining down to the Underworld like a river of blood. Hades would be proud of him. But soon Cerberus himself would have the throne. He would conquer the king of the death with the help of his training from his new masters. But first he would have to prove that he could control his temper.

One...two...three...

Cerberus lifted one paw menacingly off the ground, mud clinging to his mangled fur. The Seven were watching him expectantly from behind a boulder, their minds set to thinking they were more powerful than they actually were. Th little annoying nitwit of a saber tooth crawled back up from the ground, revenge and lust for blood straining her eyes the same color as Cerberus's. Red. And for a second he saw something within the depths of her eyes that creeped him out. For the first time in his life, the pet of the God of the Underworld saw something that would haunt his dreams. Cerberus let a weak strangled moan out of his lips, his mind wavering and his paws slicing the earth into small ribbons in his fright.

It can't be...

Another POV change- Rainstorm

She hadn't known what had come over her. At first it had just been fear, a longing to run away like the others. And she was about to turn tail and run toward the mountains, toward her friends, yet she stopped and looked back. Cerberus was gazing at her with pompous hate for her kind. Quickly she realized that the long pink, puckering scars strewn across his limbs were from cats like her. Lost echoes of ancestors battling against the pet of Hades. Rainstorm knew she was a sabertooth tiger, a rare breed. So rare in fact she might be one of the last ones. She didn't even have to look down at her spotted silver blue fur to tell that the wolf's glare was meant for more of her than the others.

Rainstorm could also tell that his claws were also stained with cat blood, his earlier missions probably to kill her family. A burning pain filled the saber's lungs, her fast beating heart crying out with yearning to sink her sharply honed fangs into his neck line.

So be it. He was going to pay for the lives he wrecked havoc in. With blood.

With blood lust overcoming Rainstorm's senses, the silver-furred cat lunged for the Cerberus, a screeching battle cry emerging from her soul, not mouth. It happened so quick, yet time seemed to slow down, her eye sight blurring like a fuzzy dream...

In a red haze, Rainstorm only remembered leaping onto her target's thick muscled neck, and sinking her gleaming canine teeth into the side of the wolf's neck. Again and again the attacker clawed and battered every foot of flesh she could while clinging onto his mane of hair. In the mist of the warring animals, Rainstorm didn't notice her friends' horror-struck faces stare as she beat down the monstrous animal with her flashing serrated claws. Rainstorm didn't feel anything even when Cerberus threw her off his back and cornered her against a boulder. Hazily, Rainstorm glanced around her in a daze, her blood-stained vision fading with her consciousness.

Then finally believing her life was about to end, the saber tooth tiger tilted her bloody head and stared into the putrid, hatred-filled eyes of Cerberus. Instead of letting loose a flow of blood-curling curses, or wailing in her near death, Rainstorm simply smiled. A simple leer that stunned the ebony dog for several seconds. Cerberus hesitated for a moment, only for a second, but this was enough time for her friends to jump in between them. Relentlessly, Iris, Feather, Sundaze, Fury, and Dew pommeled Cerberus until he took a single step back and bolted away with such sudden force, that it knocked the team off their feet. The animals stayed collapsed in a pile next to Rainstorm, heaving. No one moved for what seemed to be hours.

"I'm sorry...I don't know what came over me..." Iris lifted her drooping head and peered into her cat companion's azure blue eyes. Like two miniature ice fires, they sparkled in the fading twilight. Rainstorm let her silver head slump against the dragon's shoulder and sighed. Slowly, without another word the saber tooth tiger let her heavy lidded eyes close and block out the rest of the world. With a final twitch of an ear, Rainstorm fell into a tormented sleep. Iris watched the Seven settle into the falling night before she herself fell into a slumber. Before she let the inky darkness of her mind overcome her and send her off into a dream, Iris pondered over what had passed between rainstorm and Cerberus. A connection had motivated the usually serene feline to attack ruthlessly ,and to also break up the battle in between.

But what was the bond that severed all the ties on sanity? What would drive Rainstorm, a spunky cat full of spark to go insane with rage and blood-thirst? The dragonet pondered this as she watched the anxious colors of bright scarlet red and the calming, indigo tones of the night roll across her scales. The rustic hues of her body painfully reminded her of the bloody events that took place that fateful day. Unfortunately, Iris would not know what really went down that day, not until the next day at least...

Author's Note-

Yay! Long chapter!
