Chapter 11
"Your big surprise is a fair?" Dean asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, you like fairs." Roman looked at Dean. "What were you expecting?"
"I don't know but a fair Rome, really?" Dean looked out the truck window at the fair in front of them with a disappointed look. "Hey, World's Largest Ferris Wheel, I am so getting on that!" Dean happily jumped out of the truck leaving Roman there frowning. "Hurry up slow poke!" Dean said cheerfully.
"I thought you didn't like the fair, maybe we should go do something else."
Dean winked at Roman. "You know I love fairs, I was messing with you." Dean walked around and to Roman's side and opened the door. He quickly looked around first before he leaned over and planted a kiss on Roman's lips.
"Sometimes you drive me crazy!" Roman mumbled.
"And that is why you love me!" Dean again kissed Roman on the lips. It was still early so the fair wasn't busy yet. "Want me to make it up to you by blowing you on top of the Ferris wheel?"
Roman shook his head as he got down from the truck. "No, I don't want to get off with a hard on and you wouldn't have time to finish. But I am glad you like the surprise."
"You are getting on the Ferris Wheel with me right?" Dean knew how Roman hated heights.
"NOPE!" Roman smirked.
"Yes you are!"
"I hate heights Dean!"
"I know!"
"So then the answer is…"
"YES!" Dean chimed in happily.
Roman groaned as they walked over to the ticket booth first. Roman didn't want to deal with tickets so he just bought the day wrist bands so they could ride as many rides as they wanted.
First stop was the World's Largest Ferris Wheel which made Roman extremely nervous. They got behind a family of 5 and two elderly women. "See, those kids and old women are all getting on!" Dean whispered to Roman.
"Shut up Dean!"
"I'll hold your hand if it makes you feel better!"
"Shut up Dean!"
Dean frowned. "Is that all you know how to say?"
"No!" Roman replied.
They waited until it was their turn to get on. The whole time Dean looked like he was ready to burst with excitement. Roman had to admit he was adorable when he gets all excited! Roman had realized early on that Dean had never really had a chance to be a kid growing up. He had to take care of himself so doing things like going to the fair, brought out the kid in him, happiness he never experienced while growing up. Dean had to push Roman in. Roman groaned, unfortunately, Dean's happiness sometimes brought distress to Roman. Dean sat across from Roman until the car was closed up and they had started moving. Dean slid over to Roman then.
"What are you doing Dean? Stop moving!" Dean jostling the car made the car rock back and forth scaring Roman who was sitting perfectly still.
"Sorry, I wanted to sit beside you but I didn't want the ride operator thinking it was weird." Dean took Roman's hand and squeezed it. "So I had to wait."
Roman was pale. Dean now felt bad because he did know Roman was deathly scared of heights. "Rome! " Roman looked at Dean and Dean leaned over and kissed Roman softly. "It's beautiful up here, just take a quick look!" Roman carefully took a quick look around and he saw miles of endless greenery and a lake in the distance. It was definitely beautiful. Dean carefully put his arms around Roman's waist and leaned in and kissed his neck. They had stopped at the very top of the ride to let more people on and Dean wanted to keep Roman calm and distracted from the swinging car with each stop, it jerked the car even more.
"Thank you for this, I love you!" Den said sweetly and leaned over slowly and kissed Roman. Dean felt Roman melt into the kiss. Dean looked and saw that Roman wasn't quite as scared anymore and he even looked around at all the beautiful splendor. The sky was a bright blue with white fluffy clouds. They could see the mountains way off in the distance. Magnificent shadows way off that that was so tall that even from this height, you would barely see the tips. The greenery all around was flaked with flowers.
"Feeling better?" Dean asked and Roman nodded. Roman was still tense but not as much as earlier. The ride began moving at a faster pace but still at a nice speed once all the cars were full.
"Are you sure you don't want that blowjob?" Dean asked and Roman laughed.
"Maybe later!" Roman responded.
Next Dean was pulling Roman toward the bumper cars. At least they stayed on the ground for this ride but Roman forgot how aggressive Dean could be in a bumper car. He concentrated all of his efforts on constantly bumping him and soon had the other riders all bumping him as well. He could barely move before he was hit.
"You think you're cute, don't you?" Roman asked with a smile. Roman had to admit that was fun even though all the bumper car riders had ganged up on him.
Next Dean was pulling him toward the gaming booth area. "What should we play first?" Roman wondered but Dean quickly answered him by grabbing Roman and pulling him toward a dart game.
As soon as they walked up to the booth ran by a pretty young dark haired girl with big brown eyes and a beautiful smile, she started giving Roman puppy dog eyes.
"Hi!" The young girl said with a smile directly toward Roman. "My name is April! Would you like to play?"
"I would!" Dean laid down a $5 bill but April was staring at Roman intently with shiny eyes. Dean frowned seeing Roman smiling back at the pretty young girl.
April laid down 3 darts without taking her eyes off of Roman. "So are you from around here or just visiting? April asked Roman.
Dean frowned as he was obviously being ignored.
"Just visiting but this place is so beautiful." Roman answered
"Where are you from?" April asked.
"Pensacola, Florida."
"Oh WOW, long way from home."
Dean watched as the two chatted. April was being so flirty batting her eyelashes and twirling her long pretty hair at Roman and blushing occasionally. Dean threw the three darts and popped 3 balloons. Without a word or even taking her eyes off Roman, April handed Dean a small stuffed dog. So he threw down $5 and April once again as she chatted happily with Roman put 3 darts on the booth. Dean then noticed April running her hands over Roman's tattoo, tracing it with her fingertips and eyeing Roman shyly. Dean got the impression that April would happily take Roman to the back and fuck him standing against the wall of balloons.
Dean picked up the darts and again popped 3 balloons, without missing a beat, April handed Dean a stuffed goldfish. Dean frowned and again threw down another $5 and again April laid down 3 more darts. April was running her hands up and down Roman's muscular arms. You could tell she was enjoying looking at Roman and Roman was eating up the attention.
Dean knew he shouldn't be surprised. Roman always had a tendency of attracting girls to him. How it is the guy who didn't even like pussy could get it without trying while the rest of the male population had to work extra hard at it. Whenever he, Roman, and Seth would go out, the women would just flock to Roman which would always upset Seth. Seth would just grab me and go sit in the back of the bar drink, and sulk. I would tell him to go get him but Seth would say he couldn't because they couldn't be out in the open as a couple. He use to feel real sorry for Seth.
Thinking of Seth causes a sharp pain. Dean had loved Seth too. Not the way Roman had but Dean thought of Seth as a real brother. Dean shook his head of all past memories. He picked up the darts and intentionally missed all the balloons to see what April would do and she next picked up a small stuffed bear and handed it to Dean.
Dean looked down; he had a stuffed dog, fish, and bear. April was smiling shyly at Roman asking for his number, biting her lip invitingly. OK, I have had enough Dean thought.
"Can I get a large prize instead of the 3 small?" Dean asked. April frowned just for a brief moment realizing that Dean was here. She turned grabbed a large over-sized blonde teddy bear with a pink bow and handed it to Dean. She grabbed the 3 small prizes and shoved them in a bin at the bottom and then went back to flirting with Roman.
"I'm out!" Dean leaned over and whispered to Roman turning angrily with the stuffed bear and walking off. Roman looked at Dean's retreating back with a frown.
"I'm sorry April, I have to go!"
"Please stay, I will let you play for free?" April winked at Roman hoping he would take her up on the invitation but he acted like he didn't notice.
"I have to catch up, nice meeting you!" Roman ran off after Dean and his huge teddy bear.
"Dean, wait!" Roman called and Dean turned around. He did not look happy. "I'm sorry; I was trying to be nice." Roman explained.
"By letting her feel you up? What if she wanted to pet your dick next, would you pop it on out so she could?"
"OH, she wanted to do a hell of a lot more with my dick then just pet it but I would rather be with you."
"You could have fooled me. Here I won you a teddy bear." Dean shoved the bear at Roman making him take a step back.
"It reminds me of you, I love it!"
Dean just growled at him for that. "I'm not a stuffed bear."
"I meant your hair looks blonde when you first wash it!" Roman looked around but there was too many people for Roman to kiss Dean. "I'm sorry!" Roman said.
Dean's anger began to melt.
"What would you like to do next?" Roman asked.
"Let's do the pie eating contest." Dean commented.
Roman read the sign. "It's not a pie eating contest, it's a pie competition."
"There's a difference?"
"Yeah, this one is where you sample different pies and you vote for the pie you like the most." Roman said.
"So which one would you pick Rome, April's apple pie?" Dean couldn't help but to feel jealous.
"You know I don't swing that way Baby Boy! I would rather suck on your long john then eat her apple pie." Roman grabbed a blushing Dean and pulled him toward the pie stands.
Roman sat the bear in its own chair as they sat down with 20 different slices of pie each.
"We are going to get sick." Roman said looking at all the different pies to try.
"Well we could just take a bite off of each. I still want to try a deep fried Oreo or maybe a deep fried Twinkie. Why don't we get one of each and share?"
"A deep fried Oreo or Twinkie? We're going to go into cardiac arrest." Roman replied.
"We don't have to eat it all Rome!"
"True! But it just sounds gross." Roman said as he noticed a pretty little girl with light brown hair and big blue eyes staring at them. She was wearing a pink dress with white bows and her hair was in pig-tails. She had spilled a little cherry juice on her dress. The little girl made her way slowly over to them. Roman and Dean couldn't help but at smile at how sweet she looked with her shy smile as she approached them.
"Hi!" The little girl said tentatively.
"HI!" They both said at the same time.
"My name is Sarah."
"Hi Sarah! My name is Roman and this is Dean."
"What is your bear's name?" Both men knew why the little girl came over then.
"Well we haven't given her a name yet. Would you like to name it?" Dean asked surprising Roman. At first, Dean had been really uncomfortable with all the children's attention but he was a little more comfortable now. Roman noticed that Sarah had pretty blue eyes like Dean.
"Its' a she!" The little girl replied with a smile.
"How can you tell?" Roman asked.
"Because she has a pink bow silly." The little girl replied giggling. She was too cute and Roman and Dean smiled at how adorably sweet she was.
"Sarah, what are you doing over here bothering these nice men?" A pretty woman with the same blue eyes came hurriedly over. She looked at Roman and Dean Suspieouly. "I am so sorry!" The mom said obviously mistrusting of the two grown men talking to her young daughter.
"Mommy, they said I could name the bear. " Sarah said excitedly.
"That is nice of them." Sarah's mom said.
"Actually, Sarah, would you like the bear?" Roman asked the little girl and her blue eyes got all wide and happy.
"Really?" She asked excitedly,
"Yep, we are just passing through and there is no room for the bear to sit in our car." Dean said with a smile. Roman handed the bear to the mother who took it but she still did not trust them which they understood why.
"That is so nice. What do you say Sarah?"
"Thank you!" the little girl replied happily.
"Thank you!" Sarah's mom said and she guided the little girl back to her table. She looked back at them and waved happily.
"She was too cute!" Roman replied as he sampled pie #1 which was a blueberry and cream pie.
"Really cute." Dean said trying the same pie.
"Have you ever thought about kids Dean?"
Dean wasn't sure how to answer that. "Not really. Rome, we're too young and busy for kids."
"I don't mean right now but I am 29 and I would like to settle down by 35. I was just wondering your take on it all."
Dean tried the next pie which was strawberry. He really liked that one. Dean had never really wanted to settle down with a wife and kids but now being with Roman he wondered if that was even possible for them.
"Rome, you know being gay there is no way I can give you kids. I mean if that is what you want, then you are in the wrong lifestyle."
"Why? Gay couples are able to get married now."
"Only in some states." Dean replied.
"True and kids, they can be adopted or a surrogate mother could be used." Dean looked at Roman. Roman took a bite out of pie #4 and it tasted like apple and caramel. "I'm sorry; I'm not trying to freak you out!" Roman said worried he was going to scare Dean off.
"No, I'm not freaked out. I would expect a guy like you to be thinking of those things."
"What do you mean by a guy like me?" Roman looked a little hurt not sure what Dean was implying but he just smiled and put his hand on Roman's shoulder.
"A wonderful, unselfish, beautiful guy with a big, loving heart!" Dean said with a wink.
"You make me sound like a Hallmark card."
Dean laughed. They got on the topic of sports. Dean didn't want to talk about marriage and kids. It was something he never really thought about. It was one more thing Dean felt like he would fail at so he didn't want to think about it. "Football will be starting soon, I can't wait!" Roman loved football.
"Yep I know, I can hear you screaming at the TV even now." Dean took a sip of water from a water bottle.
"You will to!"
"Only if the team I bet for is losing!"
"Which is all the time, you never listen to me about who to bet for." Roman said as they finished up picking the pie he liked the most.
"Hey! Just because I don't vote for your favorite teams…"
"Which are the winning teams?" Roman said with a smirk.
"Whatever!" Dean grumbled. "Which pie did you pick?"
"#15."
Den frowned. "Why 15?"
"Because I like the mixture of different berries. Which one did you pick?"
"#10." Dean replied.
"You picked apple pie." Roman smirked at Dean.
"Shut up, what can I say I'm all American. I like hot dogs, baseball, and apple pie!"
"With blonde hair and blue eyes!"
"I don't have blonde hair!" Dean had to think for a minute. "OK, I am not sure what color my hair is but it's not blonde." Blondes have a reputation of being ditzy and stupid and Dean didn't like to be referred to them.
"Well right now it looks red in the sun!" Roman was still smirking at Dean.
"Why is it you always pick on my hair color and eyes? They change, I can't help it!"
Which was true, Dean's hair and eye color were just as indecisive as he was in life.
"I'm sorry! You are just so adorable!" Roman said as they dropped their ballots in the box. What was not adorable was the pissed off look Dean gave Roman. "OK! I'm done!" Roman hoped to get Dean to calm down. "What would you like to do now?"
"I really want to get on the Tilt-a-Whirl but we just ate. Let's go play some more games that don't involve darts." Which meant, does not involve April.
They walked back over to the gaming section and played a few of the hoops games which Roman was good at and Dean didn't do so well. But the pitching games were Dean's thing and he won another large size teddy bear, this time it was brown. Roman had won a couple of medium size stuffed animals. They ended up giving them to some more kids; a few even recognized them so they ended up taking pictures with the kids. Dean wanted to win a goldfish at the ring toss but Roman was steadfast against them keeping it. They couldn't take care of a fish so Dean gave it to a little boy that was bummed because he lost and couldn't win a goldfish. He smiled brightly at Dean and ran off to show his mom claiming he had won it himself causing them to laugh. They were getting ready to move to the rides when April approached them with a pretty blonde girl with her.
"Hi Roman!" April had never got Dean's name so all she said was Hi to him.
"Hi April, we were just going to go on some rides." Roman was hoping to get rid of her.
"This is my friend Carrie, do you mind if we tag along?" April asked sweetly. Both girls were eyeing Roman up and down. Dean felt as he should just go find a cotton candy stand or something. Dean went to walk away but Roman grabbed Dean's arm. April realizing to get to Roman she would have to hang with Dean smiled sweetly at Dean. "I'm sorry; I didn't get your name earlier." April said with a smile.
"That's because you didn't care to ask for it earlier." Dean said matter-of-factly wiping the fake smile off of April's face. Carrie looked at Dean and then frowned. She then looked at Roman and then back to Dean and then back to Roman.
"I know you guys!" She said excitedly. "I mean I don't know you personally but I see you guys on TV a lot. My brothers love you guys!" April looked confused. "They are wrestlers from WWE. This is Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose" Carrie explained to April.
"Can we keep it down please?" Roman asked looking around to see if anyone heard Carrie talking.
"Oh sorry!" Carrie said.
April turned her attention back to Roman and Dean. "Wrestlers huh? Well would you like to show us some of your moves then?" April winked at them and Carrie looked like she wanted to drag them back to her cave by their hair.
"April would love for you to show her your spear!" Carrie said to Roman. Carrie then turned her eyes to Dean. "I would love to see your Dirty Deeds!" Carrie was putting it out there.
"We could have a tag team match." April said devilishly.
Both men stared at the women not sure what to do. "How about we go get on the tilt-a-whirl?" Roman said still a little stunned.
"OK!" April replied happily grabbing Roman and Carrie grabbed Dean and they went and got on the ride. April pulled Roman one way and Carrie grabbed Dean and pulled him the opposite. They found that if they kept them on the rides, they wouldn't have to talk to the girls much; they just screamed and held onto them which made them uncomfortable but not sure how to get out of this predicament at the moment, they decided not talking to them was the best solution. After a few rides the girls excused themselves to go to the bathroom.
"How did this happen Rome?" Dean asked a baffled Roman. "How did these girls butt themselves into our date?"
"I am a little surprised myself but I am more surprised that you didn't want to take these girls up on their offer."
"What offer?" Dean asked confused written all over his face.
"To have some freaky sex orgy with them."
"EWWW Gross! No Thank You! That April didn't even so much as look at me twice until she realized I was a wrestler."
"So your feelings are hurt?"
"Yes! But it's the same always; all the girls pay attention to you and not me." Roman cocked his head to the side.
"Do you want to fuck these girls?"
Dean realized that now Roman was the one looking hurt and he softened. "No! I only want to be with you Rome! I don't care about these girls, I just want them gone. I was enjoying spending time with you and wanted to ride with you instead of having that Carrie girl hanging all over me." OF course then Roman had to flash that smile. That supermodel smile that had all the girls wanting him and could melt Dean instantly into a big puddle of mush and Dean groaned feeling a warm, fuzzy feeling coming over him. "I blame you for making me so soft!" Dean said. Roman winked at Dean since he couldn't kiss him in public.
"So what are we going to do?" Dean asked.
Roman thought for a minute. "We could say that I have an emergency and we need to leave."
"What emergency?" Dean asked.
"My girlfriend is sick."
Dean smirked. "Dude you'll get slapped for that one."
"Well do you have any other ideas Einstein?" Dean thought for a minute. He saw the door opening and he realized it was now or never.
Dean punched Roman in the stomach really hard. Roman yelled out in pain and doubled over clutching his stomach.
The girls saw Roman bent over clutching his stomach and gasping in pain and ran over both very worried. "Roman, are you ok?"
Roman of course couldn't speak because Dean had just knocked the wind out of him. "What is wrong with him?" April asked worriedly glancing at Dean who now looked concerned.
"I don't know, a couple of minutes before you came out of the bathroom he just started crying in pain, holding his stomach. I think I have to take him to the hospital." Dean was holding Roman up by now. "It could be his from the hernia operation." Dean used WWE's excuse of why Roman was currently out of action because of an injury as the excuse needed.
"Oh No!" Carrie said worriedly.
"Yeah, he may have over done it today." Dean rushed to explain as he started walking a gasping Roman to their truck. "I'm sorry ladies; we will have to take a rain check. Nice meeting you."
"Do you want us to go with you?" April asked with concern.
"No, there is no point; I am just going straight to the hospital." Dean said helping Roman to the truck.
"Do you want our numbers?" Carrie asked but Dean acted like he didn't hear them and helped Roman into the passenger side of the truck. He then ran around got in and took off in a hurry.
Dean drove a few miles down the road before he pulled over and looked at Roman who was leaning against the window trying to catch his breath. "Rome!" Dean said tentatively. "You're going to kick my ass now, huh?" Roman glared at Dean.
"WHAT THE FUCK AMBROSE!" Roman said angrily. "You couldn't come with a better plan then punching me in the stomach? My plan was just going to get me a slap so you thought it was better to punch me?" Roman was pissed and Dean grimaced at Roman yelling at him.
"I'm sorry; I didn't want them thinking you were some type of cheater."
"So you think it's a better idea to punch me?" Roman was mad. "You could have at least given me the heads up so I could prepare for it! I didn't care what those girls thought; I was just trying to be polite."
"I'm sorry Rome, are you going to kick my ass now?" Dean's eyes were wide. Roman was always the quiet intimidating one who kept calm under pressure but when he lost his temper which was extremely rare, he looked like he would tear someone a part with his bare hands.
"DON'T FUCKING DO THAT!"
"Do what?" Dean asked softly.'
"Look at me like I am some ASSHOLE! I'm not going to hurt you, I wouldn't do that!" Roman got out of the truck, slamming the door shut. Roman bent done and took a deep breath.
Dean got out as well checking on Roman. "Roman, please get back in and let me take you home!"
"I just need a moment Dean!" Roman took a few deep breaths to calm down. The pain subsided but he was still angry. He really did want to punch Dean for that stupid stunt but he knew that would only set Dean back.
Before they hooked up Roman would have slugged him. Hell, they had got into some fist fights over the years that ended with Seth having to break them apart but Dean was right. They were a couple now and hitting each other wasn't right. It wasn't right before but that was what men do sometimes. Roman and Dean would fight all the time but Roman had never laid a finger the wrong way on Seth. He couldn't explain, it was just different being someone's friend and being in love with someone.
He compared Dean and Roman in the Shield days as siblings, we would have some nasty fights but no one else was allowed to fight with them; they always had each other's backs on that one.
Roman leaned up against the truck as Dean eyed him worriedly. Dean had this lost little boy look that melted Roman's anger. "COME HERE!" Roman said to Dean.
Dean cautiously walked to Roman still worried he was going to get hit and instead Roman hugged him. Dean closed his eyes and buried his face in Roman's shirt. "I'm sorry Rome!"
"Just next time, give me the heads up on what your mind is thinking. I can never tell!" Dean nodded as he looked up at Roman. Roman bent down and kissed Dean hungrily. Dean wrapped his arms around Roman and kissed him back with as much passion. At first they thought it was their imagination when they felt a few drops but then rain suddenly began pouring down from the cloudy sky right on top of them. "OH SHIT!" Dean said running back around to the driver side of the truck when he realized he locked the keys in the car. "DAMMIT!" Dean said yanking on the door handle a few more times.
"Dean open the door!" Roman yelled out. Rains drenching them in its torrential down pour.
Dean walked over to Roman. "I locked the keys in the car." Dean had an upset look like he was in trouble. Roman just shook his head and thought about what to do. The rain was pouring hard and they were completely soaked. Roman remembered the key pad on the truck but he had to go through his wallet to retrieve the code. After a few more minutes, Roman got the door open. Dean thought he was still going to drive and went to get in the car.
"OH HELL NO!" Roman pointed to the passenger side and Dean put his head down and walked over to the other side of the truck. He didn't rush. He was already soaked as it was and Roman was pissed with him. Dean climbed into the truck with Roman waiting on him and slammed the door sadly as Roman took off in a hurry.
