Chapter 11
As she walked through the corridor, the rooms, and other personalized places up the palace, she went up to the stairs of the Highest Tower.
Zeus looked through the open window of the Highest Peak, waiting for his Queen. As he heard foot step to the open stairs, he saw her. Her. His queen. Walking out of the shadows. Light shining upon her. His eyes were deep in her soul. Above the heavens.
She walked inches near him and stopped at the very point, he can breathe in her scent that made his knees buckle, as he tried to control it.
Hera looked decent and simple but to Zeus she was the most beautiful creature in the whole Universe. Within a second, he wrapped his arms around her waist and closed the space between them.
Hera leaned her head on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around her waist.
"Let's go.." Hera whispered while pulling away.
Zeus nodded, took her hand, and teleported to a place.
"Where are we?" Hera asked as she opened her eyes.
"Venezia." Zeus replied.
Hera smiled. "Really?"
"Yes. Come on." He took her hand and guided her to a restaurant near the canal.
Zeus pulled the chair for her, and she sat down. He went to the other side of the table and took Hera's hand.
"What do you want to-" But he was interrupted.
"Mi scusi, signora, signore, posso avere il vostro ordine?" The waiter came up.
Hera took the menu and saw Zeus with a weird look.
"She means, may I have your order..." Hera told him.
"Oh, yeah right." He snapped into reality.
"Oh, inglese?" The waiter asked.
Hera nodded.
"Okay, sure." The waiter said with an accent.
A few seconds past, Hera spoke.
"Farò un, ORECCHIETTE WITH MINI CHICKEN MEATBALLS, and a bowl of mushroom soup" Hera spoke. The waiter listed and looked down. "How about your drinks, madam?""I will take a glass of grape champagne." Hera replied.
"Yeah, how about you, sir?" She turned to Zeus.
"Farò un, Zesty Spaghetti a la Puttanesca, and make the mushroom soup 2. Drinks, I will have champagne too but in raspberry."
The waiter nodded and listed up things. "Your order will take a few minutes. Thank you." And went away.
"So... how's your day?" Zeus asked holding Hera's hand.
Hera looked up. "Huh? Yeah, it's fine. Poseidon and I did our first project. And it has a lot of work to do. How's yours?"
"Not quite. I had to take care the things in the mortal world. A lot of victims of death. Hades had to do a double time."
"Right." Hera rolled her eyes. Sighed, mortals... she thought.
A Few minutes of talking and then the food arrived.
"Hanno una grande cena." Said the waiter as the dinner was served.
"Grazie." Zeus replied and Hera nodded.
As the waiter was gone, they started to eat.
Hera's eyes lit.
"Is there a problem?" Zeus asked.
Hera nodded.
"There is? Uh.." Zeus raised his hand to call the waiter but Hera went beside him and placed it down quickly. Zeus looked at her, confused.
"I didn't mean it like that. I meant that this...is super delicious, vasiliá mou." She giggled.
He smiled. "So this was a great idea after all..." He muttered.
"Of course, you have the greatest idea of the best and of all the best." She replied.
"Stop confusing me with riddles.."
"Oh I am not kidding." Hera looked up.
He smiled. He placed his hand under her chin and reached down to capture her lips.
She was his heart, his life, and his soul. She is his whole. When she is gone, he will fall apart. Nothing as great as his vasílissa, his wife, and his Hera. Why would he go around running to the opposite part of his life, if he already had this.
As they were running out of breathes, he pulled away slowly and not letting go of her.
"Let's eat." He said breaking the silence. She nodded. And they ate quietly.
As the night was here, they walked around Venezia. His arm around her waist, her head on her shoulder, her arm around him. He told her stories on what happened and what he did today. It was sad actually. A lot of mortals dying because of victims of murderers. And he could not do anything about it.
They spent their evening talking and took her to a canoe. Watching nature. Loving the fresh air. Gods it was great.
As the evening was coming to an end, Zeus took her back to Olympus, still in his arms, and went back to their chamber. They had a wonderful day. Lying on their bed, sharing their stories. Zeus loved her very much and he didn't want to let her go.
As they made love, all the night, Zeus knew there that she too, still loves him. Whatever happens. Even though her vow is unbreakable. She would never be unfaithful to him, as much as he does. Learning his lessons today, all he knows is that he loves her so much.
As much as the world ends and nothingness goes, he loves her.
He wrapped his arms around her softly, as they finished making love. Caressing her cheeks, kissed her forehead softly. He pulled their blanket upwards and wrapping his arms protectively, as if she would go away. But he will never do that.
All he knows is that, he will never, I mean never, ever, let her go...
