CHAPTER 11- SCARED
On the other side Kanda and co. are on their way to the town named the rewinding town. Silence filled the place no one talks. Not even the energetic rabbit, who's sweat dropping non-stop, who wouldn't when a very, very angry samurai was sitting beside you. Kanda was glaring outside the window his elbow resting at it his cheek on his palm. A vein on his forehead,
"Che," they all sweat drop.
'That's the 1,234th he che-ed.' They all thought.
"Um, can I have your attention, e-everyone-lero?" Lero called gaining the attention of the others.
"What?" Kanda ask in a very angry and annoyed tone.
"Well we got 15 minutes till we arrive to the town-lero." He stated, Kanda che-ed again.
"Yuu-chan will you stop doing that?!" Lavi shouted annoyed about hearing it every time, just this time actually.
"How many times do I have to tell you never call me by my name?" Kanda growled. "So what about me doing it?"
"It's getting annoying!" Lavi answered.
"Che, it's not like you care any way." He stated.
"What happen anyway Kanda-kun?" Komui asked, and immediately regret when Kanda glared at him.
"The Baka Moyashi threw me that's what!" Kanda yelled.
"Whoa, calm down yuu-chan. Just tell us why you were thrown by Allen." Lavi stated Kanda look at them then at the others.
"Che, that's got nothing to do with you," He said and look back at the window and remembered what happen.
FLASH BACK
"Geez, why do I have to be with them? Maybe if I hide they'll never saw me. No that would make me look like a coward." Kanda mumbled to himself pacing back and forth on his room. He then went out of his room. 15 minutes pass Kanda found himself in front of the music room. He look at his wrist watch and note that there were 10 minutes left and they'll go to the town.
'Good.' He thought then suddenly he heard piano being played inside. He open it a little peeking inside and saw his angel playing the piano while singing.

Kanda remain quiet amaze by Allen that she sang the song with emotions. Then she stops and looks at the key piece of the piano.
"The delicate me and Little Red Riding Hood is me then, the dangerous you and the wolf?" he heard Allen said that. "That'll be…" Allen looks up and smiled. "Kanda"
Kanda choke hearing his name he turn around back deep in his thought.
'He mentioned my name, what does that mean?' he asks himself. 'Wait, the wolf and little red riding hood is a fairytale story. The wolf tried to eat the girl; does he really think I hate him?'
"Baka Moyashi." He stated out loud in a sad tone.
"It's Allen BaKanda." He heard behind him he spun around and saw Allen standing at the open door.
"Moyashi,"
"It's Allen, why were you spacing out by the way?" Allen asks.
"How long have you notice I'm here?" he asks her.
"When you choked," Kanda sweat drop.
"Che, that's got nothing to do to you," He spun around trying to leave until Allen realize something and the time.
"BAKANDA WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! GO WITH THE OTHERS!" he heard Allen shouted and was drag by his collar. Hard, and Kanda struggled on the way.
"LET GO OF ME MOYASHI!" Kanda roared, Allen stop a few feet away from the door. He saw Allen inhaled heavily then shouted.
"IT'S ALLEN BAKANDA!" she throw him towards the van, then he collide with Lavi, who is sitting and watching them at the door of the van and they both were inside the van. All of them remained still, shock that Allen can do that even kanda.
'Just how strong is that bean sprout?' he thought.
"What?" he heard Allen asks then Neah started to laugh.
"Never expecting Allen can do that?" he asks. "Cross teach Allen to do some self-defense you know."
"But didn't you say that Allen couldn't do it well?" Lenalee asks.
"Yes, I did but that was before the incident with the bastard." He smiled the others nodded.
'The bastard Leverier again.' Kanda growled in his mind then snapped when he heard the door of the van was close. Then Lero started the engine, and left.
End of Flash back
"YUU-CHAN!" Lavi shouted, and then he suddenly paled.
"What rabbit?" he asks putting pressure at his glare and at mugen tips which is at Lavi's neck.
"W-w-w-w-we arrive a-a-a-already." Lavi stuttered Kanda lowered mugen down then Lavi sprinted away for his life. Kanda sighed 'This will be a long hour.' He thought then left the van.
Two hours and thirty minutes later.
"Man that was tiring." Lavi complain when they sat inside the van.
"Well the groceries we bought are a total of 23 boxes 12 medium size and 11 large sizes." Lenalee stated looking at the back.
"That many?" Lavi ask she nodded. "How much did it cost?" he ask again
"$145,897.00-cho." Chomesuke answered.
"Man, Allen sure is rich." They smiled, Lavi look at Kanda who is now sleeping his arms crossed on his chest.
"Hey, Lero-kun do you have a marker there?" Lavi asks the driver who is now starting the engine.
"Yes-lero, do you want to borrow it-lero?" Lero asked Lavi nodded. Then lero search for some marker on his backpack. When he found one he gave it to Lavi.
Lavi look at Kanda, and then open the lid of the marker….
After a while he gave the marker back to Lero and lean back on his seat grinning the others look at him scared.
"What?" he asks them.
"You are dead when he woke up." They said and back away from him. 20 minutes later they arrive at the gate of the mansion and Lero open the gate with the password.
When they were at the front door, they all went out, then the two Walkers were out minute later.
"Welcome back." Allen said. Kanda then stirred and woke up and saw that they were back, he stretched and went out and notice that the others were putting the boxes to the ground.
"How was the grocery went Kanda?" Allen asks he look behind him, when Allen saw his face she began to giggled then burst into laughter. She fell to the snow pointing at Kanda's face.
"What the hell?" Kanda said.
"Allen what's wrong?" Neah came around and look at Kanda's face and began to laugh as well.
"B-b-b-BaKanda," Allen said. "l-look at yourself in the mirror." She continued to laugh Kanda complied then snaps a murderous aura surrounding him. His face was full of drawing, a mustache, a flower and his eyebrow was long. He gritted his teeth.
"Baka Usagi!" he roared the said rabbit immediately run for his life his predator on his tail.
"I think we'll be having a rabbit stew for lunch." Neah stated smirking the rest nodded.
"I'll help you with that." Allen volunteered giggling and they all went inside carrying the boxes.
"SSSSSSSOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"
1 hour later
Sniff
"Lavi will stop sniffing." Lenalee said annoyed.
"But it hurt!" Lavi cried, Allen sighed.
"Of course it does. You have 5 big bumps, 2 black eyes, a bruise cheek; your mouth is even swollen." Allen stated treating his cheek.
"Not only that-cho. He had a broken arm, leg and three rib bones-cho." Sachiko stated putting a cast at Lavi's arm. He sniffs again.
"That's what you get for doing that to me you stupid rabbit." Said an angry Kanda, the girls sighed.
"We hope you learn your lesson Lavi." they said, Allen then stand.
"I'm going outside." She stated she went out of the room Kanda following her.
"Oi Moyashi where are you going?" Kanda asks. Allen looks at him.
"To the storage room, why?" she asks.
"What are you going to do there?" he asks.
"Well, preparing the things we need tomorrow." She answered.
"Things we need?"
"We're going to ski tomorrow. And I need to prepare the supplies." When they were about to pass the kitchen Neah came out and called them.
"Ah, Allen, Kanda!" they look at him. "It's time for lunch." He smiled.
"Alright, Timcanpy contact the others." Allen ordered. "Lunch time!" she shouted happily, she and Kanda entered the dining room. A while later the others arrive, Lavi riding at a wheel chair, making Kanda smirked in amusement.
"Delicious." Lavi complimented when he took a sip of the soup served in front of him.
"What is this, this time, Neah?" Komui asks.
"Rabbit stew~" Neah delightfully answered. Lavi spit out his food in front of Krory.
"Lavi-san that was gross!" Krory said.
"Here Krory, wipe your face." Allen said giving him a table napkin.
"Sorry, sorry. But Neah your joking right this isn't rabbit stew right?" Lavi ask looking at Neah while paling. Neah shook his head.
"Nope it's a rabbit Lavi, why?" he asked Lavi suddenly loss his color.
"Oh you don't want to eat your relative Baka Usagi?" Kanda asks with an amusement tone and sip his soup. "Wow your relatives are delicious." He smirked.
"Y-y-y-y-y-you guys aren't p-p-pl-planning to cook me r-r-r-right?" Lavi asks eyeing them they all look at the Walkers.
"Depends." Allen replied.
"Depends what?" Lavi asks.
"If you didn't learn your lesson then we'll cook you or your rabbit relatives but if you did everything will be back to normal." Allen smirked at him.
"YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!" Lavi yelled.
"Allen is always serious Lavi." Lenalee said.
"I think I'll go to sleep." Lavi then fainted on his wheel chair.
"…."
Then everyone burst into laughter except for Kanda who tried to cover his laugh by turning it to a cough.
"That was hilarious!" Fou said pounding the table.
"Yes it was, did you see the look on his face. I should have brought my camera!" Bak laugh holding his stomach.
"Thanks for the meal." Allen said standing up.
"Where are you going Allen?" Neah asks.
"To the storage room number 6." Allen answered.
"Wait number six, Allen-san?" Rhofa asks her, Allen nodded.
"Then we're going to go skiing tomorrow?" Miranda asks.
"Why of course~" Allen smiled at them and wave.
"I'm going with her." Kanda stand up.
"Your very serious on protecting Allen aren't you samurai boy?" Neah stated Kanda look at him then grunted, he catch up with Allen.
"We're lost, right sprout?" Kanda asks when they were walking for 30 minutes in a dark hall Allen sighs.
"It's Allen BaKanda. And no we aren't lost this is the exact way." She answered.
"Really, I don't believe you, because we've been walking for 30 minutes!"
"Calm down will you, geez." Allen complained, and then she suddenly stops. Kanda look at her.
"What beansprout finally realize we're lost? Great." He said sarcastically.
"Will you stop calling me beansprout and I have a name you know." She said. "And we're not lost, we are already there." She added quickly.
"What?" Kanda look at her confuse, Allen shook her head and look at the wall. Eyeing it up and down she blow at a small square, the dust disappear Kanda look at it clearly.
"Another thumb print scanner?" he asks
"Yes, and it's my thumb that will always be scan for it to open." She answered scanning her thumb and it open.
Inside the room was full of some equipment for every season, well organized. Allen walks at the shelf labeled ski she looks at Kanda who remained standing.
"Will you help me over here BaKanda?" she asks annoyed, Kanda che-ed and help Allen.
"Where am I going to put this sprout?" Kanda asks when he lifted one pair of blue ski. Allen looks at him.
"Put them outside, at the side of the door." She answered Kanda nodded he went out and put it at the side of the door.
"AHHH!" he heard Allen shout, he spun around and saw Allen standing holding her left hand with her right hand.
"Moyashi!" Kanda shouted worried and run to her. He looks at her hand and gasp. He holds her hand that was bleeding with blood.
"K-Kanda?" she asks.
"What happen?" he asks her, Allen look at the shelf where the skis were.
"I was cut, I didn't notice the metal behind that ski over there." She answered Kanda look at the ski she was talking about and saw a metal just behind the ski and it was very sharp. He sighed worriedly.
"Luckily you wear gloves or the wound would be more deeper." He said, when he was about to took the glove off, Allen pulled back her hand and put it on her chest tightly like it was her life.
"What are you planning?" she asks.
"Give it to me so I can treat it." Kanda said holding out his hand. Allen shook her head,
"I'll treat it myself," she said looking down, Kanda frown.
"Don't be so stubborn Moyashi!" he said.
"Just give me the first aid kit, located on the first self and I'll treat it myself while you took the skis out." She stated Kanda was about to protest but got his head hit by Timcanpy he glared at it while Tim bared his razor sharp teeth at him. "Just do it Kanda before Tim will bite you." Kanda sigh in frustration.
"Fine," he went to the first shelf and took out the kit and gave it to Allen who turns around back when she receives it and continues his work. While Kanda was doing his work, Allen cleanse her wound carefully before slipping her gloves out and showed her deform red arm with a green jewel cross like embedded on it. She glances at Kanda making sure he will never see it. Timcanpy landed on her shoulder knowing what his master problem was and watch Kanda while showing his teeth.
Kanda glance at Allen and sighed when her back was facing him.
"Oi Moyashi how many skis do we need?" He asks. Allen slips back her gloves and look at him.
"We'll need 17 pairs of skis." She answered then pulled out a pair of ski and did the same thing Kanda did.
When they got 17 pairs out. Allen close the door,
"Oi Moyashi how are we going to carry these?" he asks. Allen sigh and took 20 steps forwards and stop and scan her thumb again and went inside and came out with a trolley she close it and went towards Kanda.
"Put it here and let's move to the storage room number 9." She said and put the skis on the trolley and they move forward.
"Sprout what next?" Kanda asks.
"The ski clothing, goggles, gloves, shoes, helmets, and stick pole." Allen answered opening it. And they pack the things they needed, when they went to the living room they notice that it was sunset.
"It took us 5 hours huh?" Allen stated looking at the window. And they continue, when they entered they notice everyone was there watching T.V. Allen whistled they look at them.
"I got them." Allen pointed at the skis behind her then everyone cheered.
"Wow so we're skiing tomorrow?" Lavi asks, they all look at him.
"Sorry Lavi, but you're staying behind." Allen said.
"What?!"
"Because Lavi your injured, so we can't allow you to join us." Lenalee said.
"No fair!" Lavi protested Allen sighed and look at Timcanpy.
"Tim can you give the vial 232422." Tim nodded.
"What was that for?" Lavi asks, and then they heard a snicker.
"Oh Lavi, you're really are a rabbit." Komui snickered making them sweat drop. Then Tim arrives with a pink vial bottle on his mouth Allen took it from Tim and looking at it carefully.
"Here drink this Lavi." she stated handing it over to Lavi. Lavi look at it then at her.
"What's this?" Lavi asks
"That's a potion for healing faster." She answered, Lavi being the clueless bunny he is drunk half of it then after a while he was covered with a pink smoke. They waited and waited until the smoke disappear viewing a perfectly healed Lavi. Neah whistled.
"Well, Komui looks like one of your potion did work." He stated eyeing the crazy scientist. Komui laugh.
"Finally one of my potion works!" he happily stated.
"Ahem." Allen fake cough them, catching their attention. "You're wrong Komui-san; there happen to be a side effect." She stated Kanda look at Lavi then chuckled a bit they raise an eyebrow, Allen and Kanda then pointed behind Lavi, they all look at Lavi and began to laugh.
"What?" Lavi asks them in confusion.
"Look behind you stupid rabbit." Kanda smirked Lavi look behind him and notice that his butt had a fluffy stuff and it wiggle.
"Oh rabbit tail." Lavi said. "What about- A RABBIT TAIL!?" he screamed touching it.
"Well your healed but you got a tail." Allen smirked.
"Cheer up Lavi, at least you are now allowed to ski." Lenalee said giggling.
"You know when you said that while laughing, it doesn't made me feel better." He sulked at the corner.
"Oh no, Lavi don't grow some mushroom at my house!" Neah scolded him then laugh.
"Neah you're not serious in scolding him while laughing!" Allen put her hands on her hips and yelp.
"What's wrong Moyashi?" Kanda asks, Allen look at her injured hand.
"I think I put a lot of pressure to it." She answered, Neah stand up and walk towards her.
"Pressure?" he look at Allen hand, "Tim quick give me the first aid kit!" he ordered at the golem who nodded then he look back at her bloody left hand.
"It's fine Neah, it just reopens." Allen said lowering her left hand, Neah grab her wrist.
"No Allen, we're going to treat that wound at the library, come on." He pulled Allen away; Allen sigh defeated and followed him, or allowed to be drag away.
At dinner everyone eat happily.
"Thanks for the meal." They said in unison then Lavi began to whine.
"I have a rabbit tail!" he wailed the rest smiled at him apologetic, Allen sigh and stands up as well the others and began to clean the table.
"Oh Allen are you going to the control room?" Neah asks her while wiping the table.
"Yes I need to make sure every things under control." She answered.
"Then bring the samurai boy with you." Neah pointed at Kanda who miraculously helped them putting the plates at the sink.
"Why?" she asks.
"Safety." Neah went back on wiping the table, Allen look at Kanda then sigh.
"Oi BaKanda!" she called, Kanda look at her glaring. "When we're finish here, come with me I need your help." She stated and went back on wiping the table. Kanda look at her confuses. After a while they finish their work and left the dish washer to wash the plates.
"Where are we going Moyashi?" Kanda asks.
"The fast way for you to know the house." She answered, and then they arrive at a metallic door. They opened it, inside was full of computers.
"What room is this?" Kanda ask.
"Control room." Allen answered taking a seat she gestured Kanda to sit as well.
"What for?"
"Here, we can control the gate and the door, and security cameras are all over the place so that we can detect any trespasser. Inside and outside the mansion." Allen said pressing some buttons.
"So why are we here?" Kanda asks.
"I'm making sure that the heater on the mountain range we're going to ski at will not go malfunctioning." Kanda raised an eyebrow.
"Heater?" he asks.
"So that we won't froze to death Kanda." Allen answered looking at him. "Might I remind you that we have a temperature of 20 Celsius below, we'll freeze to death because of that." She finishes typing at the key board.
"So what am I supposed to do here?" Kanda asks Allen stop and look at him.
"Look at the screen, if you saw anything weird then tell me." She smiled at him Kanda look away.
'Shit, his just so cute for his own good.' He thought looking at the computer screen.
"Why are there numbers on the screen, Moyashi?" Kanda asks.
"The numbers represent the number of that particular camera." She answered. Kanda hummed and narrowed his eyes when he saw a shadow form like on the screen number 32.
"Sprout where does the number 32 located at?" he asks eyeing the shadow suspiciously , Allen look at him and tilt her head then back at her work.
"Number 32 is over there." She pointed at the window besides her.
"You're saying that this camera is just beside this room?" he asks.
"Yes why?" she look at Kanda, while Kanda look at the screen and saw the shadow moving forward. He stands up and went to the window to take a good look at the woods.
"Kanda?" Allen called him in confusion and look at the computer screen. When she saw the shadow at the woods moving she her eyes widen and began to pale. Kanda leaned forwards to take a closer view of the woods and did saw the shadow he saw at the screen Allen look at the window Kanda was leaning and notice the shadow. Kanda was about to open the window but…
"Kanda no!" he heard Allen shouted and feel that something wrap his waist and a weight added at his back, he look at his back and saw Allen hugging him.
"Moyashi?"
"Don't open the window!" Allen shouted. Kanda look back at the woods and blink in surprise that the shadow was no longer there he tried to look clearly and closer but the shadow was no more. Kanda look at Allen and blush a little.
"Moyashi you can let go of me now." He said.
"The shadow, is it still there?" she asks tightening her hug. Kanda frown and look back at the woods.
"No it's no longer there." He said Allen let go of him, Kanda turn around to look at her. Then Allen began to shiver.
"Moyashi?" he asks worriedly, Allen without thinking hug Kanda again and sob at his chest. Kanda froze in shock, once regain from his shock he slowly hug Allen back, tightly.
"Moyashi what's wrong?" he asks.
"I'm scared." She answered sobbing.
"Scared of what?" he ask lifting Allen chin to face him and saw his angel in tears.
"Of the shadows." She said looking down and put her face on Kanda's chest.
"That was just a shadow." He stated rubbing circles on her back.
"That was not just an ordinary shadow,"
"Huh?"
"It feels like those were shadows of death. When, before father died, I saw a shadow following us, the next thing I knew is that father got hit and the incident with Leverier and I got this scar." She sobbed.
'Moyashi.' Kanda sadly thought his expressions soften.
"I'm scared Kanda, I'm scared of the shadows, everything that are suspicious." Kanda hug Allen tightly.
"Don't be scared Moyashi, don't be okay?" Kanda comforted her, and then cupped Allen cheek. "I'm here okay, I promise your aunt to protect you. And I will fulfilled that promise alright." He said looking at Allen silver eyes directly.
"But what if you get hurt because of me?" she asks Kanda wiped the tears that fell from Allen's eyes.
"I'll make sure that I will never get hurt or you to be hurt. And if I did got hurt I won't regret it, because your safe." He smiled a rare smile Allen look at him and smiled genuinely and then she nodded.
"Thanks Kanda." She said hugging him Kanda hug back. "Who would have thought that you are a softie." She teases him.
"Che, considered this as a payment for hiring me." 'And meeting you.' Kanda added in his mind his bangs cover his eyes but his cheek of red. Allen giggled.
"Right thank you." She said. After a while Allen finally let Kanda go and Kanda followed suit but was disappointed at losing her warmth.
"We should continue our work and then sleep." Allen said taking her sit Kanda look back at the woods and back to Allen and sit.
"Oh by the way you need to learn more about this mansion." She delightfully stated smiling Kanda look at her and nodded.
"Let's go Kanda time to sleep." Allen said yawning, he nodded. It only took one hour for Kanda to learn about the mansion.
'So the rooms there are a total of 200, there are 100 rooms on the left part which is where the living room, kitchen, library, music, dining, control room etc. are located. The rest are on right part, its rooms are the bedrooms, guest room, and bathrooms and an indoor hot spring. And we have an underground floor where the storage room and basement are. Damn! How can they live in a place like this? My house is just a half of this! Wait did the bean get lost here?' Kanda thought while going back to their room.
"Hey Moyashi," he called Allen who is just beside him look up.
"What?"
"I'm surprise you didn't get lost in this mansion of yours." He stated smirking, Allen stop, Kanda look at her and sweat drop.
"Didn't get lost?" Allen asks dark aura surround her. "What are you saying didn't get lost. I was lost in this mansion for 3224 times already and I would be dead from starvation if Tim didn't found me!" she shouted then walks forwards.
"So he did get lost." Kanda mumbled and followed her. When arrive at their rooms Kanda was about to enter his but stop when Allen didn't enter in her.
"Something wrong Moyashi?" Kanda ask walking towards her. Allen tightens her grip on the door knob.
"Nothing's wrong is just that I'm…." Allen trailed of, Kanda knowing what she meant move forwards and hug her.
"Like I said don't be afraid okay?" he lifted Allen's face to make sure she wasn't crying. "I'll protect you and that's a promise." He finished and hugs her tightly. Everything seems right to the two of them, they just stand there and hug each other until…
"YYYYUUUUUU—CCCHHHHAAAANNNN!" they heard Lavi shouted. They both look behind Kanda and saw the others looking at them shock, jaws drop, Lavi pointing at Kanda gaping.
"Shit." They both cursed.
"Yuu-chan! Why are you hugging Allen?" Lavi asks moving forwards the rest follow. The two look at each other and sighs.
"You two can't be in a secret relationship are you?" Lavi accused, the girls squealed in delight
"What? NNOOOO!" they heard Neah wailed behind them. The two lovebirds gave them a dull expression and immediately went to their rooms and lock it.
"ALLLEEENNN! YOU DIDN'T HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SAMURAI RIGHT?!" Neah wailed pounding the doorof his niece.
"YYYUUUU-CCHHAANN! TELL ME!" Lavi pounded on the doorof his best friend until… the doors open, showing the angry duo. They all sweat drop.
"WE'RE NOT IN A RELATIONSHIP!" the duo said, Allen throw the biggest encyclopedia she had at Neah which was a head shot, Kanda swing mugen and almost hit Lavi who's fore head is now bleeding then they both slammed their door close locking it.
"…."
"Ouch," Lavi and Neah said in unison. The rest look at them and went to their room.
"It'll be awkward in the morning." Allen mumbled her head buried in the pillow.
Kanda look at the ceiling. "Shit now the rabbit will keep on asking questions." He said. They both look at the window. Allen stands up and touches the glass plane watching the snows falls.
"That shadow," she mumbled. "A bad omen." she looks away and went to her bed and sleep.
"I promise to protect you, Allen." Kanda said looking at the snows falling and sleep.
3.5 kilometers away from the house, near the heater above the skiing range man was standing beside the heater.
"How dare he touch my angel." The man gritted its teeth. "You shall be punish for you touching Allen and you Allen will be punish as well for allowing to be touched." The man looks at the heater and patted it. "Soon you will be mine again." Then the man disappears
