Darcy knew she should tell Booth about what she'd done the night before, but what good would it do? All it would do is hurt him, wouldn't it?
Hurt: verb. Cause pain or injury to, suffer pain, cause distress to, feel distress, be detrimental to.
Could she be so cruel as to cause Booth distress? Besides, it's not like he'd ever find out, right? She just had to make sure she wore a sweatshirt for a few weeks, and they'd heal and fade as all the others had. She hated it when scars faded, but she always felt relief as well.
Her phone chimed with an incoming text message.

Alouette, gentille alouette
Alouette, je te plumerai
Darcy was tempted to answer, but decided against it and deleted the message, shaking away her thoughts. She got out of bed and went into the bathroom, taking care to lock the door as she carefully pulled off her clothes and removed the gauze. Though a few looked particularly bad, they weren't the worst she'd ever done. Darcy searched the medicine cabinet and found some Neosporin, rubbing a bit on before putting more gauze on it and sneaking back to her room, setting out her clothes and preparing for school. Afterward, she settled into bed with The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
When she took a break from her book, Darcy noticed that she had a few text messages from Dakota.

Look, I'm sorry, okay? You know I didn't mean anything I said.

How long are you going to keep ignoring me for? Jesus, I said some things I shouldn't have, but don't treat me like I murdered someone!
Darcy sighed, deciding to sleep on the situation and possibly makeup with Dakota tomorrow. Turning off her lamp, she made herself comfortable and tried to sleep.
Until her phone buzzed again.

Look…Lacey cheated on me, okay? And she told me I was only ever her toy, and, basically, you were right. You were right, okay?
Smiling, Darcy understood he was trying to make amends.
