Chapter Eleven: The Quidditch Match

"You're an animagus!" Ashley yelled, freaking out.

The fox, Elizabeth, simply swished her tail and turned towards the forest. Ashley stood stock still where she was, staring at the fox. The fox turned to look at her, then looked at the forest and back to Ashley. Ashley shook her head and took a deep breath, trying not to think of all the creatures whom resided in the forest.

"Okay, uh, what do we do?" Ashley asked after a while.

They had been walking through the forest for quite a bit and the fox trotted this way and that. Ashley looked through the trees, afraid something would grab her. Suddenly, the fox pricked its ears. Ashley frowned at it as the fox cocked its head to the side. Then, letting out a shrill yip, the fox darted off.

"Hey! Ellie! Wait up!" Ashley yelled.

She herself began to race after the fox, only being able to see the tip of the tale when it disappeared. It was when the fox stopped for a few seconds, could Ashley hear whining. The fox trotted ahead, more cautiously than the way it sprinted before. It peeked its head into some green underbrush, where a little pup sat. The puppy looked at her and whined even louder.

The fox turned and looked at Ashley who was watching the scene silently. Ashley looked at the fox for a second and then knew what it wanted her to do.

Ashley stepped up and picked the puppy up, whom stopped whining and cuddled into her arms. Swishing her tail, the fox trotted away, Ashley following behind.

The two plus pup, arrived back at Hagrid's, who was staring towards the forest in longing. Ashley and Elizabeth supposed he knew then.

"HAGRID!" Elizabeth called.

Hagrid looked over, and upon spotting Fang, ran over. Fang licked Hagrid's hands as he took him from as Ashley.

"Than' you!" Hagrid grinned. "I was told tha' he wen' off into the forest, I 'ope you didn't."

"Oh, no we didn't." Ashley told him, looking at Elizabeth nervously.

"Yea, we just had an owl, dog treats and his favourite squeaky toy." Elizabeth lied smoothly.

"You are an animagus!" Ashley exclaimed.

The two were walking up towards the castle and Elizabeth threw a hand over Ashley's mouth. She effectively silenced her and gave her a look.

Then Elizabeth pulled Ashley over to a place where they would not be heard. Namely, in the corner of the castle walls where Elizabeth could speak to Ashley about things.

"You can't tell a soul." Elizabeth muttered. "I trust you more because you're a muggle-born I suppose."

Ashley perked up at that with a big smile, there was a good thing about being a muggle-born after all. It was always hard for her to understand the wizarding world, being behind most.

"I swear I won't tell a soul unless you say so." she said.

"Good. Now, animagi like me, which are natural-born are being constantly stalked by the Ministry to be studied. Luckily, few people in the Ministry know that my mum and I are natural-born so-"

"Your mum is one too?" Ashley asked.

"Yep. Anyway, we often get a few animal-like qualities."

"But how do you know someone is natural-born?"

"Well, we are born with a blue mark on our hands or feet that resemble a swirling cloud."

"Are there any bad things about it?"

"People can treat you weirdly sometimes if they find out, also there's a spell that can force someone to change into human form from an animagus and it is really painful for us."

Elizabeth was bouncing around excitedly in the Common Room swishing flags everywhere. Allysa rolled her eyes at the girl in an exasperated manner, un-believing in the fact that Quidditch was so great. Natalie, instead, was grinning from ear to ear as she wrapped a scarf around her neck. Ashley, just watched them with amusement behind a book, already dressed up.

"Will you calm down?" Allysa asked.

Elizabeth stopped and turned to look at her with an innocent and questioning expression upon her face.

"Who, me?"

"Yes, you!" Allysa exclaimed.

"Oh." Elizabeth frowned, then her face brightened. "I can't! It's a Quidditch match!"

"I'm sure you have been to loads in the past." Allysa said.

Natalie joined in the conversation, interrupting Allysa.

"Yea, but this is our first Hogwarts Quidditch match!"

"There's not much of a difference!" Allysa snorted.

"Guys?" Ashley attempted to interrupt.

"Yes there is!" Natalie and Elizabeth bellowed.

"Girls?" Ashley tried again.

"Oh, what's the difference besides the different teams?" Allysa questioned, crossing her arms.

"People?" Ashley said.

"Thank you Ash for pointing that out, you can cheer on people you've met personally, have Quidditch parties." Elizabeth listed.

"You can try-out for the team yourself and try to be the commentator for matches." Natalie added.

"QUIET!" Ashley yelled, trying the loud attempt.

Everyone stared at Ashley, for a few seconds there was total silence in the room. That was also when the others noticed there weren't many students down there.

"Ten minutes till the match starts." Ashley said, bringing the attention back to her. "Start moving."

The three nodded dumbly at her before walking out of the Common Room. Elizabeth eventually shook out of the shock and dragged them down to the Pitch quickly.

It was a rather windy day with grey clouds overhead, even though it didn't seem threatening, Ashley had handed them all umbrella's. Elizabeth played with ifor a bit, gasping as it sprung open before closing it again.

They were able to find seats luckily, to which they took quickly. Natalie handed Gryffindor flags to them all, then joined Elizabeth chattering about the match non-stop. Luckily for Allysa and Ashley, the Quidditch commentator started to speak.

"I'm your Quidditch commentator, the stunning Howard Grace. Right, sorry McGonagall. I know, I know. Alright, I won't! Sorry about that folks, now...welcome to the second Quidditch game of the season, Gryffindor versus Ravenclaw!"

This was met by tons of cheering, Elizabeth and Natalie were grinning at each other while Ashley giggled at the commentator's words.

"Of course, this game will obviously not be exciting as we -err- Gryffindors have a brilliant team this year and we'll obviously smash the Ravenclaws so-yes Professor, I know, no being biased yada yada yada. Now, let's get this game going shall we?"

Again, there were cheers which seemed to make the commentator grin before continuing on.

"Well, out comes the Gryffindor Quidditch team led by Captain and Chaser, Reed Ollerton-completely barmy, mind you. Following him are his fellow chasers Mike Richards -well, we win some we lose some- and the new second year, James Potter-" Elizabeth let out a loud cheer here. "Behind them is keeper Derrick Rogers-whom has pink boxers by the way ladies, I'd know! I share a dorm with him-, Beaters Fabian and Gideon Prewitt -don't worry firsties, they aren't married, there twins...twins!- and finally, the new fifth year seeker Sarah Wimbourne -attractive I must- OW!. Sorry Professor, my heart still belongs to you, ow... Anywho a nice strong team if I do say so myself, bet they will smash those Ravencla- Professor, I'm simply stating my opinion!"

The Gryffindor's flew around the pitch, doing a quick warm-up. The Ravenclaws soon flew out on their brooms, attention brought on them when Howard Grace began to comment.

"Ah, here comes the Ravenclaw Quidditch team; namely, William Thistler-another mad person by the way-, Ravenclaw Captain and Keeper, followed by returning chaser Devon Ruftin -he's a scary one in the hall's, may be shy but he can sure throw a punch when needed- and new second year chasers Lucy Parkin and Phillip Summers. Behind them are Beaters Logan Miller-calm yourselves ladies- and Olivia Greensworth -tough one that one, took a blow from a bludger to the head in the last match three weeks ago and continued playing!- now, new seeker Jake Tutshill -descendant of the founders of the Tutshill Tornadoes I believe, and no I don't have his family tree up here...-Ravenclaw, be prepared to- Professor I was only going to say 'have a good game'.-which indeed it will be a good game as we know who is going to win. I didn't say who Professor! Not that I was implying or anything. I'm just- and the Captains shake hands."

William Thistler and Reed Ollerton stared each other hard in the eyes, glares firm on their , William Thistler, with his spiked blonde hair, swiveled around, and went up to his keeper position. Reed Ollerton flew up into the middle of his fellow chasers.

"And, the Quaffle is sent off by Madam Hooch! Ruftin makes a grab for it, Prewitt-er number five, which is Gideon yes, right- Gideon Prewitt hits a bludger in Ruftin's direction causing him to be distracted and drop it! Ollerton swoops down and takes it, passing to Potter-who catches it!-Potter passes to Richards- to Ollerton-to Potter and Potter takes aim at the hoops-"

James swooped to the right, making William swerve to his left. James then aimed at the far left hoop and-

"He scores! Gryffindor is 10-0 to Ravenclaw! Brilliant find Ollerton- this is Potter's first game and he's taken the first score- as you can see we Gryffindor's-are uh, very prepared? Wasn't biased there McGonagall, was I?- right, back to the game. Keeper Thistler throws Quaffle to Parkin whom passes it off to Summers- bludger hit by Fabian Prewitt, which is sadly deflected by Greensworth."

"Grace..."

"Sorry Professor, now Summers passes back to Parkin who passes to Ruftin-wait! Ollerton and Richards have closed in on both sides! Is this what I think it is? Potter flies towards Ruftin at top speed making him drop the Quaffle! Potter swoops down, collecting it. They have successfully done the 'Parkin's Pincer' which was actually created by chaser Lucy Parkin's ancestors, founders of the Wigtown Wanderers. Back to the game! Potter passes to Ollerton- to Richards- to Potter- Back to Ollerton and- Parkin, Ruftin and Summers have formed an arrowhead pattern, coming to Ollerton. They're doing the Hawkshead Attacking Formation! Ollerton has pulled to a stop and seems panicked! Come on Ollerton!"

Reed Ollerton had indeed stopped, his mind whirling as what to do. They were coming closer, just a few feet away. Then, he swooped upwards.

"What is Ollerton doing? He's going straight up, not even looking back! Ruftin, Parkin and Summers follow-wait! Ollerton drops the Quaffle! Potter grabs it and passes to Richards! That is the Porskoff Ploy everyone-Richards flies in and throws!-And it's saved!-Dang! Thistler takes it and throws to Summers. Almost hit by a bludger sent by Gideon Prewitt. Dodges-passes to Parkin-passed to Ruftin-passed back to-intercepted by Ollerton! Ollerton passes to Richards-who drops it from a bludger sent by Miller! Ladies, no need to swoon over my voice. Ruftin grabs the Quaffle, passing to Summers-passes to Ruftin-passes to Parkin who enters scoring area and throws- Rogers misses! Ravenclaw scores! Ten-Ten both!"

The game continued on like that for half an hour or so, back and forth and different play's. The new Quidditch player's seemed tired, even James, but still played on.

"Seventy-Fifty Gryffindor! Thistler throws the Quaffle back in and-wait! Wimbourne has spotted the snitch! She dives and Tutshill follows! Look at Wimbourne go, my mum said I was always attracted to brown-haired girls,"

"Grace!"

"Yes Professor?- There neck and neck! Tutshill starts coming ahead! A full length! But wait a bludger is hit by Fabian and Gideon Prewitt completing the Dopplebeater defence. Powerful shot that is! It hits Tutshill in the stomach-making him swerve away. Wimbourne has gone ahead!-She has caught the snitch! Two hundred Twenty-Fifty Gryffindor! Gryffindor wins!"

There was a great roar of cheering from the crowd, Gryffindors going crazy while Ravenclaws and Slytherins were booing.

The Quidditch team did a lap around the pitch waving before circling around Sarah Wimbourne, cheering. She smiled and raised her fist in happiness causing everyone to cheer louder.

Elizabeth handed her brother a butter-beer, whom was grinning like mad. In fact, both the Potter's were grinning from ear to ear. Elizabeth being happy for her brother whilst James being ecstatic about having his first successful match.

The four boys, namely James, Sirius, Peter and Remus were on the couch with Elizabeth. Ashley, Allysa and Natalie were dancing happily to the music. Fabian and Gideon were watching the drinkers of the punch bowl with mischievous eyes.

The Gryffindor Quidditch party was in full swing and everyone was having fun.

"Congrats mate." Frank Longbottom stated, walking over to James.

"Thanks Frank." James grinned

Then the boys started to talk about what boys would usually talk about 'Cool Stuff and whatever'. As you know, girls often get tired of these conversations so Elizabeth found herself walking over to the twins. They were easy to tell apart because they were still wearing their Quidditch uniforms, their numbers-Gideon with five and Fabian with four-a quick giveaway.

"'Ello!" she greeted.

They both pulled their eyes away and focused on her, pulling mock angry faces.

"Finally coming to pay us attention now, are you?" Fabian asked.

"Wha-I?" Elizabeth started, confused.

"Bloody been here all night," Gideon said.

"And not a single word from you!" Fabian exclaimed.

"Hurt it did," Gideon told her.

"Tons." Fabian added.

"Like a pierce straight through the heart." Gideon stated.

Both twins put hands on their hearts and pretended to faint while Elizabeth had a confused face on. They then both sat up and gave her cheeky grins which made her glare at them and hit the back of their heads.

"I thought you were actually mad at me!" Elizabeth growled.

"Nah, we weren't." Fabian shook his head, smiling.

"We could never be mad at you Elz!" Gideon grinned.

"Whatever; Congrats on the game!" Elizabeth told them.

"No Hugs?" Fabian asked.

"No Kisses?" Gideon questioned.

They both pulled puppy-dog faces while Elizabeth wrinkled her nose.

"Ew! Kissing is gross." she exclaimed loudly.

"I should hope so!" James' voice was heard above the noise.

Elizabeth groaned and shook her head at what he had said.

"Shut up-or I'll...send my cat on you..."

The twins were laughing at her and she glared at them. They continued laughing so she took a cauldron cake upon a nearby platter before throwing it at their faces. It hit them and they froze. Elizabeth stared at them, seeing the mischievous twinkle appear in their eyes.

"Food Fight!" they shouted.

Suddenly, Gryffindors as if acting completely prepared, took handfuls of their own food and dived behind different couches. Elizabeth, fortunately, had been watching them so knew what was happening as soon as it came from their lips. She dived behind the sofa with some Cauldron Cakes, watching as the whole Common Room leapt into chaos.

Food was being flung everywhere and people had made bunkers. Elizabeth, not wanting to spoil the fun, joined in.

The night ended with Professor McGonagall coming in and shouting at the whole of Gryffindor house along with questioning the prefects, on what had happened. Everyone, pardon a few rule-followers, had claimed that someone had hexed the food into flying everywhere.

Professor McGonagall reluctantly bought it, having seen Peeves fly away with some food in hands whilst cackling. She obviously suspected that Peeves had done such a thing so she cleaned the room with the swish of her wand and told all of them off to bed.

When she had gone, the older students sent the younger ones off for an 'older' person party. Elizabeth, not exactly wanting to stay and sneak around to see what was up, left up to bed with Ashley and Natalie (as Allysa had retired quickly after the food fight started).

They all wished each other goodnight's and went to sleep, dreaming of food fights and in Allysa's case, seeking revenge on the starters of it for ruining her hair(she didn't know who of course).

The day had been great.

"Are you all going home for Christmas?" Natalie asked.

They were currently in the Great Hall on a Saturday and Professor McGonagall was getting students to sign their names if they were staying or going home for the fore-mentioned holiday.

"Yep." The three girls responded.

"My mum and dad will want to hear all about Hogwarts." Ashley smiled.

"I'm going to be stuck in my room with a jumper on no doubt." Allysa shook her head.

She glanced wearily at the windows outside where around five feet of snow was which had fallen the night before.

"Unfortunately, I'm going to be stuck at a party in a dress for New Years." Elizabeth sighed. "Christmas will be fine of course, staying at home."

"I'm having Christmas at my Gran's." Natalie told them. "Maybe we could meet up at some point?"

"Well, it can't be too far." Ashley said. "I can only take Muggle transportation."

"Or you could take the Knight Bus." Allysa informed her. "Just hold out your wand hand and it'll appear soon enough."

"Bring along a few Galleons as you have to pay of course." Elizabeth said. "I'd like to meet up. My brother's friends are staying for Christmas, they'll bug me no doubt."

The four spoke a bit more, until McGonagall came around and they signed on that they were leaving. They then left to the Common Room as Ashley wanted to go outside in the snow so the four were going to prepare.

"Hey Ash! I'm going to grab the twins." Elizabeth said.

"Okay." Ashley grinned.

Elizabeth walked up to the boy's dorms, barging into the third year's. When the door slammed open, Derrick Rogers sat straight up in his bed, his caramel hair sticking straight up with green eyes wide. Howard Grace fell off his own bed in a tangle of sheets, yelping. A few other beds were empty but Elizabeth had no time to look as she was tackled from the side. She was face first into a pile of dirty socks and tried to get out of whomever's grasp.

"Now, now Elz," Twin one was heard.

"No need to just barge in!" Twin two said.

"We could have been changing!" Twin one agreed.

"Couf moo geph uf?" Elizabeth responded.

"What?" they asked together.

"Is that a girl?" a new voice could be heard.

"Why did she come barging in?" A second voice questioned.

"Beats us." the twins said, standing up.

Elizabeth rolled over and glared at the twins whom gave cheeky grins. They pulled her up and she removed a sweaty sock from her hair.

"I remember you!" a voice exclaimed.

Elizabeth looked over and saw Derrick Rogers pointing at her with wide eyes.

"Isn't it rude to point?" Elizabeth asked.

"I dunno," One of the twins said.

"Think our mother mentioned it once or twice." the other one nodded.

"Or ten times." Elizabeth added.

"Or a Hundred." Twin one said.

"Or a Thousand." Twin two agreed.

"Back to the point." Howard Grace reminded them, scratching his brown-haired head.

"Right," Elizabeth said. "I'm Elizabeth Potter, you're Derrick Rogers."

"I think I can introduce myself." Derrick grumbled.

"Dunno mate," Twin one said, putting a hand on Derrick's shoulder.

"Don't think you can handle that much words." Twin two said.

Derrick punched them both in the shoulder causing the Twins to yelp and Elizabeth to giggle as justice was done.

"Sorry that I'm not exactly a morning person." Derrick grumbled.

"Got that right." Howard Grace said, leaning against his bed post with a grin. "You only hear grunts from him at breakfast. Howard Grace by the way."

"Elizabeth Potter." Elizabeth smiled.

"James Potter's sister?" Howard asked, surprised.

"Yea," Elizabeth replied.

"I suppose you do look a bit alike." Howard nodded, squinting his blue eyes.

"Got my mum's hair is why." Elizabeth said.

"Was about to say it was a bit red." Howard grinned.

"Uh, am I the only one wondering why she barged into the dorm like a Mother Dragon trying to find her egg?" Derrick asked.

"Good choice of words." Elizabeth remarked.

"It's the morning." Derrick blamed.

"I need the twins for a romp in the snow!" Elizabeth grinned.

"A Romp?" Fabian asked.

"You sure are strange Elz." Gideon said.

"Maybe the morning is getting to her." Derrick commented.

Howard shook his head with a grin and the roll of his eyes whilst Elizabeth smacked a hand to her face in exasperation. She then thought about saying something that would interest them.

"A Snowball fight." Elizabeth decided.

"Oh no..." Derrick groaned.

It did interest them, for their heads swiveled and looked at Elizabeth. Then, they jumped onto her in excitement which reminded Elizabeth of puppies. She fell once again, onto the pile of dirty socks.

"A Snowball fight?" Fabian asked.

"Are you seriously asking?" Gideon questioned.

"Yea, be ready in five minutes." Elizabeth said. "Also, get off would you?"

The twins nodded then raced over to their beds, throwing on jumpers, robes, scarves, mits and hats. Elizabeth smiled and shook her head at them before leaving to the Common Room.

"What took so long?" Natalie asked.

She, Allysa and Ashley were sitting in big red chairs looking rather bored.

"It's the twins Nat." Ashley said, smiling. "Heard them from down here."

The twins were finally ready, dragging Howard and a grumbling Derrick down with them. The eight left the Common Room, rushing out into the snow where they divided into teams. Allysa, Derrick, Howard and Natalie against Fabian, Gideon, Ashley and Elizabeth.

Allysa, surprisingly, built a strong fort which held out for the most part. Derrick caught the snow balls mid throw and therefore was able to make snowballs quicker. Howard made funny comments, attempting to distract the others and was rather successful. Natalie studied their movements as one would an animal and was able to dodge well.

Ashley built a nice strong and protective fort rather well taking tips she learned from her father who was an architect. Fabian threw snowball after snowball towards the enemies with Elizabeth by his side doing the same. Gideon helped with defence to attack anyone who came forwards towards the fort.

All in all, others began to join the snowball fight -including James, Sirius, Remus and Peter- and everyone escaped back into the castle for some lunch and Hot Chocolate after, tired out.

"Two more weeks until Christmas." Elizabeth grinned, sipping the Hot Chocolate.

"Can't wait." Fabian nodded.

"Especially since Molly will be at our necks about acting good." Gideon said.

"Why? And Molly's your sister, right?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yep." Gideon replied.

"Told us 'bout some Potter party or something like that." Fabian told her, mock-careless.

"You're coming?" Elizabeth asked with wide eyes.

The two twins grinned and she squealed in happiness.

"I won't be bored to death then-"

Owls flew into the Great Hall suddenly, landing in front of people causing many to grin and chatter about Christmas plans once more.

James' owl flew down and landed in front of him with two letters. James took one and then walked over to Elizabeth.

"Here's a letter Ellie."

"Thanks James." Elizabeth grinned, opening up the letter.

Dear Elizabeth,

Sorry dear about not writing much.

I have been especially busy with some families injured from a dragon attack and your father with the new aurors.

He'll be home for Christmas of course which is great news!

I saw that you have befriended the Prewitt twins, whom if you have not heard will be coming to the party this year. They have been invited before but had not come for the last two years as they have traveled during Christmas.

Your father has set up the rooms for James' friends and would like to tell you that you are not allowed to sleep in the broom shed for the sake of sleep.

I hope you are enjoying Hogwarts and I cannot wait to see you!

See you soon!

Love,

Your Mother and Father

P.S Your dad is quite proud of you for that detention.

P.P.S Don't listen to your father, don't get into any more detentions!

P.P.P.S Your mum is a party pooper.

P.P.P.P.S Where did you learn that muggle phrase?

P.P.P.P.P.S For your information, I am smart.

P.P.P.P.P.P.S Didn't know that.

P.P.P.P.P.P.P.S Hey, I completely resent tha-

Elizabeth shook her head at her parent's banter and showed the letter to her friends whom giggled while the twins grinned commenting that they wanted to meet her dad.

"Hey Ellie?" Allysa called.

"Yea Ally?" Elizabeth asked.

"Did you shower this morning?" Allysa questioned.

"Uh...yea, I did." Elizabeth replied, giving her a weird look.

"Oh, something must be wrong with your shampoo then." Allysa concluded. "You smell like sweaty socks."

This lead to Elizabeth dropping her head to the table groaning while the twins cackled and everyone looked on quite confused.

A.N I wrote this 4132 worded chapter in two days and I'm pooped.

And Proud.

Both Really.

Howard Grace and Derrick Rogers are Wicked by the way :)

Not evil, just completely awesome.

Derrick blames mornings while Howard is just..Howard, he's cool.

Quidditch Commentating is sadly a hard thing to do, but if you do it aloud it sounds good actually.

I hope you all liked this chapter :)

The first Quidditch Match was Ravenclaw versus Hufflepuff by the way and Hufflepuff won 180-90 because Jake had been ill at the time and was replaced with a reserve second year -whom sadly had stage fright- and the poor second year didn't get the snitch.

Bad Season for them so far.

Anywho! Reviews! :

Maxie210: Haha! Yep :D Sirius is a bit-meh. He has his flaws. I think he suspects Regulus is like the lot of them so yea. I still need to write our their relationship a bit better ;P
