"It feels so great to be home!" With a smile I continued walking happily through town wanting to get back to the guild already.
"I don't see what's so great about going to go see a bunch of drunk lunatics" If it wasn't for the close proximity then I wouldn't have been able to hear him.
"Well those 'drunk lunatics' are crazy strong and enjoy bar brawls. Since I placed a spell on your cloak you should be fine, just remember try to avoid speaking" I was taking him to Fairy Tail to talk to Master and I needed him with me and I couldn't risk his identify being found out so soon
"Yeah yeah Barbie, I know the rules"
"Do you want to go to prison?" His indifference to getting caught bothered me
"No" He grumbled as he started to slouch beside me
"Good now be a good vampire and try to reframe yourself from biting my guild mates" Spotting the guild up ahead I ran towards it excitingly considering I haven't seen it in almost a week.
Once I got to the doors, I stopped and with a excited sigh I pushed the doors open wide. Smiling big I already heard Natsu and Gray bickering like children.
Pushing the doors open wide, I grabbed Midnight's larger hand and hastily made my way to the bar greeting my fellow guild mates with 'hello' and 'how are yous'. It was tense feeling them staring at my guest that was striding alongside me.
"Ahoy Mira!" Once I made it to the bar I dropped Midnights hand and took my usual seat at the bar near a already drunken Cana who gave me a sheepish smile before falling asleep at the counter
"Lucy! How was your missions?" Mira gave me her signature dazzling smile that easily thaw anyones cold hard heart.
"Very well," I returned the smile "Is Master in?" She happily nodded
"Does talking to master involve your mysterious guest?" She clocked her head to the side, her eyes filled with curiosity
"Sort of" Shrugging I grabbed a few jules out of my pocket and handed it to her
"My usual and a chocolate" Taking my jules, she nodded and went back to her barmaid duties
"Let's go" Taking Midnight's hand again I smiled and lead him to Masters office that was on the second floor of the guild. Walking down several hallways, I tried to clear my thoughts on how to explain the matter at hand
Stopping in front of a big mahogany door, I raised my fist to knock but it already opened with Master's stretched arm on the doorknob
"Come in my child" Walking in, Midnight closed the door behind us and we took our respective seats in front of Master's desk
"Master, there is something I have been meaning to discuss with you" My mouth rushed out the words "I-I"
For some reason I couldn't understand why my head was telling me to tell him but my heart told me no which made me even more conflicted then I already was. Sighing, I knew I had to tell the truth because emotions will lie to you. Not always but you know...sometimes.
Sitting straight I collected all my thoughts and emotions separating them before speaking again. I started at the beginning, and explained to him everything that happened. Of course leaving out all the making out we did.
After I finished Midnight took off his hood and Master simply eyed him and sat there just staring at him in silence. I mentally prayed I wouldn't go to jail and that I'd be pardoned. After what seemed like hours, Master finally spoke
"Lucy, I understand your take and your personal opinion" He stated as he continued analyzing Midnight "Luckily I have someone who has agreed to help you" He grinned as he turned back to me
"What do you mean?"
"I mean a women from the Magic Council has been informed of Midnight trick and since he's the worst of the bunch he has made a deal with the council" He vaguely explained leaving me rather confused but at the same time I understood what he had meant regarding our situation
"He will be meeting you in Crocus in two days. I suggest you go home and rest before leaving tonight" Master continued
"What do you think Master?" Biting my lip I hoped he wouldn't judge me poorly because of my decision
"You did what you thought was best Lucy. You trusted your instincts and I'm proud that you're gaining confidence my child" He smiled at me as he turned in his chair and jumped from it
"Now go child you have a long journey ahead of you"
"Yes Master" Standing both Midnight and I, with Midnight listing his good over his head again we both headed to the door and before I left I stopped and turned
"Thank you for understanding Master"
"Your welcome Lucy just remember to trust your instinct and don't hesitate"
He warned in an ominous tone that left me with questions but before I could ask any of them he smiled again
"Now shoo child I have to prepare for another meeting soon" Shaking my head I said my goodbyes again before following Midnight back to the first floor of the guild.
Heading over to the missions board again I tapped my pointer finger repeatedly against my chin as I skimmed the missions.
"How about this one?" Midnight whispered in my ear as he pointed to the one above my head. Tearing it off the board I examined it and nodded
"Good job Midni-" Stopping myself before I said his name I tried to think of what I could call him "You need a name"
"I already have one" He deadpanned
"I can't call you that in public though, unless you want to cause panic with the people"
"Fine, whatever" He grumbled as he took the mission request from my hands "Just call me Macbeth" Pivoting on his foot he headed to the bar, I quickly caught up with him.
"Why Macbeth?" I questioned aloud not meaning to
"Because it's my real name" He stated as he got Mira's attention
"This one" He mumbled as he handed it to her
"Another mission already? Hmm alright just give me a second to record this and I'll get your order as well"
A few minutes later we were out the guild with our mission and my order. As he headed home I summered Plue again as he walked with us home. Once we got to my house I set the mission on the table and got to work with preparing for our next journey.
"Here I got you this" I handed the chocolate milkshake to Midnight as he was lounging on my couch as he flipped through the channels on the Tv lacrime
"What is it?" He eyed it warily probably thinking I was going to poison him
"Just try it, it's called a milkshake" He took it and took a hesitant sip from it and immediately his eyes got big. As I watched him drink it all I could think was how he had revealed his real name to me so easily.
'Macbeth...it suits him'
