Who Made You King of Anything?
Chapter 11: Abrupt
Well,...I am super slow. Can't deny that. ANYWAY, here is the next installment of WMYKOA! :D (For those who still read this... o.O )
And I absolutely loved the last Guest review I got. LOOOVE it. :33
"Stop following me," I growl, my eyebrow twitching as I turn down another hallway.
"Shut up," comes the response.
Whirling around, I glare at Quinn with squinty eyes, "I know the lady said to be my bodyguard, but honestly, I don't need the protection, so why don't you go back to dressing up for pictures?" I quip.
Quinn gives me a cold look and looks like she's about to rip some of my hair out when we hear a loud thud. Turning around, I follow the noise with Quinn on my heels as we arrive at a door.
"You will regret this decision!" a voice says loudly, and suddenly a large wooden door flies open and a girl with short silver hair and piercing white eyes stomps out, tugging at the black tie she wore. I watch her suited figure disappear down the hall as Tiara exits the rooms and shuts the door behind her.
"Thank you for coming to the meeting Prince," she says, before it closes. My ears perk up as she says this and I make a step for the door but a look from the older woman stops me as she heads down the opposite way the girl from before went. I jump, realizing that I want to follow the other girl to see what she's up too. Hey, if she got to see the Prince, she should be able to tell me what he looks like! Lucky me~!
Taking off after the girl, I ignore the spluttering calls from Quinn who, in obvious annoyance, chases me out of the palace. The streets of Lumiose are extremely busy as I look from side to side as taxis pass and people call out to one another. This is gonna be tougher than I originally thought...
"There you are," I hear, and glance over my shoulder to see Quinn with her hands on her hips. "Don't slip off like that, otherwise I'll get in trouble from my superiors."
"I didn't slip off, I walked out the front door," I reply bluntly, and Quinn fumes, her face almost turning the exact color of her hair. I smirk at point at her face, which makes her look at herself, before running off through a gap in the crowd and disappearing from her view.
"DAMN YOU ROSE!"
I laugh as I head down a different street, my sneakers scuffing the ground as I stop and glance around. "Where could she have gone...?"
Completing a 180 degree turn, I end up bumping into someone's chest face first, and jamming my nose. "Owwwwww!" I yelp, pushing back instinctively.
"Rose?" a voice says, and I blink, glancing up to see Alexis looking at me. "What are you doing?"
"Uhh..." I start, then look around him. "Have you seen a girl with silver hair and a reeeeally intense look on her face?"
Alexis puts a hand to the back of his head and raises an eyebrow. "You mean the girl who ran into me three minutes ago and didn't apologize?"
I put a hand on his shoulder. "That's close enough," I declare. "Which way did she go? I'll make her apologize for running into you."
"That's not necessary-" Alexis begins, but I push past him and into the crowd before he can say anything else.
"Silver-haired girl!" I call out loudly, gaining strange looks from onlookers on the streets as I hop up and down to try and glimpse a flash of her hair. "HA!" I cheer, finally spotting it as she heads towards a large business building, and take off in that direction as Alexis groans behind me after finally catching up.
"Hey you!" I call out, and the girl turns around with a look of annoyance flashing across her face.
"What is it?" she asks quickly.
Grabbing Alexis' arm, I point at his face. "Remember him?" I start. "Do you know you ran into him without apologizing?"
She turns to face us fully and raises her eyebrows, looking down at us from her taller height. "Does it matter?" she says. "He was in the way, thus irrelevant."
"Rose, can we stop-?" Alexis tries to say, but I fume.
"Stop being all high and mighty!" I snap. "Apologize!"
The girl gives out a short sigh, and looks at Alexis. "This is turning into a more problem than it should be, and since you were the one who grabbed this girl to help you in being a nuisance, you will have to work to compensate for your poorly-made actions."
"Uhh..." Alexis and I both say, but the girl points at him.
"You will work for me, so hurry up and come inside the office," she states.
"No way-!" I begin, but Alexis shrugs.
"Sure, why not? Is there pay involved? Because I have another job that I need to get back too if there isn't..-" he says but the girl cuts him off.
"Yes. Get inside," she grabs him by the collar of his shirt and takes him through the electronic doors as I stare shocked and aghast after them.
"What. The Hell?" I say, but look up at the building and read the sign which indicates it's a bank. "Alexis, why are you working for some cranky girl who runs a bank?!"
"ROSE!" a voice roars, and I glance up to see Quinn stalking towards me in clear, growing anger. "GET OVER HERE NOW! WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE PALACE!"
-.o.o.0.o.o.-
Quinn scolds me on our entire walk back to the palace. I feel like ripping my ears off if only to stop hearing her voice.
"And on top of that-!" Quinn is saying as we round a corner, but both of us freeze as we see Kaden walking by, looking exhausted. Quinn looks at both of us.
"You're in trouble, and he looks tired," she says. "Both of you head to a lounge to rest and sit in time out."
I give her a glare, but Kaden gives me a small smile and beckons me to follow him. I do so, but not before sticking my tongue out at Quinn who gives us a look as we head down the hall before following at a distance. After sitting down on a long couch, I watch as servants enter and bring us desserts to snack on.
"Why are you so tired?" I ask Kaden.
He shakes his head. "Nothing.."
I open my mouth to continue my questions, but suddenly, there is a deafening explosion, and we all are knocked to the floor.
That's all for now. (Short chapter..but I don't care. I WANTED A CLIFFY!) :33 A new ship will soon appear! Can you guess what characters it will include? :3
Tell me what you thought!
