Chapter 11 "School Day"

Ah! First day of school…. On a Friday. Sure make it hassle for all of the students to attend classes on a day that is sandwiched between 2 holidays. I mean, who wants to go to school when you can have an extended vacation? Actually it's not really school day. Usually in the first day, Danville Middle School sets it as an assembly day and a class orientation day. Assembly day is usually boring but something tells Phineas that it's going to be different this time. Class orientation is usually a bunch of show and tells such as a new teacher and fun activities that were done since summer.

Let's see: notebooks, Pencils….. actually that's just about it. Phineas feels the weird sense that he should be putting a lot more stuff in his bag. He thinks hard at what else he should be putting. Perry chatters on the bed, calling Phineas's attention. Phineas chuckles at the thought of brining Perry to school but the last time he accidentally brought a pet on a regular school day brought him to an entire afternoon of detention. He zips his backpack shut and gives a sigh of satisfaction.

3 car honks were heard coming from the front of the house.

"That's Stacy! Gotta go guys!" called Candace as her footsteps echoed from the stairs.

"Bye Candace!" called Phineas from his room.

He turns his attention back to his backpack and he slowly puts it on his back. He felt his stepbrother rest his hand on his left shoulder. He turns his head to Ferb who nods at him.

"Ya ready?" asked Phineas.

He rolls his eyes and sarcastically shakes his head while holding on to his backpack strapped to his back.

"Hey! Don't give me that look." He said as he lightly pokes his nose.

After he was briefly surprised he pushes the end of his nose with his pointer causing it to bend a bit. Phineas giggles. "C'mon Ferb!"

Linda sets up the lunch boxes of the boys at the kitchen. It's loaded with ham and cheese sandwiches, juice boxes, and bananas. Ahhhhh bananas. Linda sighs with satisfaction as she accomplished packing the food of the boys. Lawrence kisses Linda on the cheek as he heads to the garage.

"Bye Deary! Say goodbye to the boys for me!" called Lawrence.

"Bye Honey!" replied Linda.

"Wait for us dad!" said Phineas as he landed from his slide on the stairs.

Ferb follows Phineas as they run towards Lawrence to give their goodbye kisses. Lawrence heads to the garage while the boys head to the kitchen counter to fetch their lunchboxes.

"You excited for school?"

"Yeah mom! I'm really excited! I can't wait to see their priceless faces when they ask what we did during summer." Said Phineas.

"Sounds like you boys had a great summer."

"We sure did mom. We sure did."

2 honks were heard from the outside.

"That's our bus Ferb! Bye mom!" said Phineas as he gave a goodbye kiss and raced to the bus with Ferb.

"Bye Boys! Have fun at school!"

Ferb hastily opened the door and ran along with Phineas. He gets to the school bus door first and puts his hand in front of Phineas to stop him. Surprised, Phineas stops and looks at him. Ferb smirks and Phineas rolls his eyes.

"Yeah yeah! You win. Hmmm, And you just gave me an idea that we're going to do for our weekend."

He gives Ferb a high five and together they enter the bus. The two stepbrothers stood by the driver and looked at 2 columns of benches filled with kids. Some were noisy and chatting, some were just showing comics to each other and some were passing paper balls while some were throwing at other kids. Their eyes searched for the gang and the flying paper balls made their line of sight obscure.

"Phineas! Over here!" called Django.

Phineas quickly caught sight of Django before the paper balls made it hard to see.

"C'mon Ferb!" he said as he took Ferb's arm and ducked as they walked.

One thing I don't like about how school goes in here is that can be too chaotic…. At least that's how they depict it in the movies.

"Hey guys!" said Phineas as they reached an area where they passed the chaotic crowd.

"Hey Phineas! Hey Ferb!" said the rest of the gang.

The boys ,Django, Irving and Buford, were seated on the left bench while the Fireside girls, who aren't wearing their fireside uniforms anymore, were seated on the right bench.

"Man! I can't wait to see the priceless reactions of our teachers once we talk all about our adventures."

"Are you talking about that dang question they say every year?" asked Buford

"Yup!"

"Oh man! I'm excited too! You guys have got to see my collection of clay action figures I made!" said Django excitedly.

"Woah!" exclaimed the gang.

"What're you waiting for? Let's see em!" said Addyson.

"I'd rather wait for the show rather than spoil."

"Fine! But don't keep us waiting for too long Brown!" threatened Buford.

The bus suddenly halts causing the 2 stepbrothers to fall but thanks to their reflexes of their friends they weren't hurt.

"There's still room in here ya know." said Buford.

"Sorry." said Phineas.

They two stepbrothers quickly sat down with the guys before the bus driver tries any more jokes. The bus door opens and from the door emerges a familiar curly haired Indian boy. He cautiously walks through the alley so as to avoid being hit by the perpetual flying paper balls.

"What's up my fellow Homo sapiens!" greeted Baljeet.

…. Awkward. The gang just blankly stared at him in confusion.

"Hi Baljeet!" greeted Ginger suddenly.

Thanks to Ginger the attention was brought to her. Embarrassed, Ginger shrinks back to her seat before any more attention could be diverted to her. The Fireside Girls gasped and giggled at Ginger's endeavor. Baljeet looked at the guys for an answer but they only shrugged their shoulders.

"What does that contain?" asked Baljeet pointing to Gretchen who's holding a flash drive.

"Oh this? It contains our club orientation for our assembly. Well… their assembly since I'm not in the age gap anymore. We're going to start recruiting members that would represent team Danville of the Fireside Girls!"

"Yeah!" cheered Addyson. "Once we have properly trained members, we're going to crush those other Girl scouts on the competition!"

"Yeah! Go Fireside Girls! Wooohooo!" The Fireside Girls continued cheering wildly until the entire school bus heard it. By the end of the cheer they were caught in awkward silence as the bus's entire attention was on the girls and the girls shrunk back to their seats. The guys just laughed out loud at this moment.

"Hey Phineas! Wanna know what I'm going to present today?" asked Irving.

"Uhh, sure buddy."

"This!" he brings out a scrapbook filled with all of the things that Phineas and Ferb did.

"Hey! I almost forgot about that. That would be a great help to our presentation later!"

Irving squeals loudly. "I just contributed to Phineas and Ferb! This would be a great start to my fan club!"

"Fan club?" asked Phineas.

"Oh! I almost forgot! That yearly question is my opportunity to start a fan club for you guys! Isn't that great?!" yelled Irving excitedly.

"Uhhh sure?"

Irving squeals.

Buford leans closer to Baljeet's ear. "Population after a year… One."

Baljeet snickers. "I may be a goody two shoes, but that was a good one."

"So does this mean that you're going to recognize me as a contributor to the greatest summer ever?!" asked Irving loudly.

"One of the contributors." Said Phineas. "Man! I almost forgot! I'd like to thank everyone for making a great summer! If it weren't for you guys then all of our projects wouldn't be possible! And fun!"

"Awwww." Said the gang.

"Specifically who?" asked Buford.

"Of course the gang! Buford, Baljeet, The Fireside Girls, Django even if it was only one project we worked on, Isabella….." he suddenly kept quiet and lowered his head in sadness as he said her name.

The gang lowered their heads. Phineas gave a sigh and shook his head to shrug off the sadness. "It's not a big deal guys! Just because the gang is one short doesn't mean that we aren't going to make the best 1st day of school ever! Right guys?!"

"Right!" yelled the gang.

"Phineas, Is it "bring your pet day?"" asked Django.

"No. Why?"

"Then why'd you bring Perry?" he pointed below him.

"Huh?"

Perry was sitting on beside Phineas and he chattered as the attention was brought to him.

"Oh! There you are Perry! Awww you ran away from home to us! Did you miss us boy?"

"Grrrrrrrrr!" said Perry.

"Aww." Phineas hugged Perry. "Oh my gosh! You're here! I can't take you to school so I guess I'll just put you down once we reach school. And speaking of which…."

There was a tall wall that blocked the view of part of the school and the bus stopped by the entrance to drop off the kids. Danville Middle School is quite big. The front is an open area and there's a small basketball court on the left and a playground on the right. The school building is built with red bricks and white cement and the windows are decorated with flora. Different kids were doing different things. Others were playing basketball, others were standing by the windows meeting their friends again but most were heading towards the entrance to start their own activities.

Phineas was the last person to be dropped off. He set down Perry by the bus stop and patted Perry twice.

"See you later at home Perry! Don't wander off too far!"

He waved goodbye to Perry as he ran back to the gang. Perry watched Phineas as he entered the school and he was smiling the entire time. Strangely, Perry entered the bus. The bus doors closed as he successfully entered it and drove off. The monotreme was no longer standing on his four legs. In fact, he was after all bipedal. He climbed the steps with his two legs and sat down on the bench behind the driver wearing a yellow uniform. Perry looked at the rear view mirror and he stared at the reflection of the driver who's shrouding his own eyes with his yellow cap. Finally he revealed his eyes and looked at the monotreme.

"Good morning Agent P!" greeted the driver.
