Chapter 11
The sun was setting in Pixie Hollow, but nobody could even think about sleeping. Their queen was just brought back to life by the princess and they were overjoyed.
"You know guys… we should throw a party for Queen Clarion!" Tinkerbell and her friends were eating together when she proposed this idea. The other fairies thought it over for a second, but, judging by their facial expressions, they already decided.
"That's a great idea Tink!" Peri agreed with her sister. Everyone began giggling as they planned out a wonderful party for their wonderful queen.
"Mary!" Rosetta called the head tinker over. "We are going to throw a party for Ree. Do you want to help?"
"Are you seriously asking?" Mary snorted. "Of course I want to help!" She went into full leader mode and soon they had the whole thing planned. Now they just needed the minister's approval to begin set up.
"Ministers?" Silvermist knocked on the door that led to the ministers' sitting room.
"You can come in!" A voice called. The girls could tell it was the minister of summer, and that she was in a good mood.
"Hi, Minister!" They waved as they filed into the room.
"Hello, girls. What can I do for you?" Sunflower asked as she gestured for them to sit. They could hardly contain their excitement.
"We want to throw a party for Queen Clarion. We have it planned; we just need permission." Tinkerbell spoke quickly and with enthusiasm. Sunflower gasped and clapped her hands together.
"That's a splendid idea! You girls are so sweet!" Sunflower was bursting with excitement just like the others. They all high-fived and began to walk out. Sunflower waved and said, "Queen Clarion will love it!"
Meanwhile, the royal couple was in the nursery, playing with their little girl. Clarion crawled on the floor, moving swiftly towards Cailida, who was lying on her stomach and holding herself up. Cailida smiled as her mother moved towards her.
"Mommy is gonna get you Callie!" Clarion giggled. Her daughter began giggling and squealing. Milori was leaning on the door frame watching. He had stepped out to get drinks for his wife and himself and came back to find Clarion crawling around on the floor. It was quite the sight.
"Don't let momma catch you!" Clarion giggled, reaching her arms towards her daughter. Cailida giggled and rolled away. Rolling over was something the young girl had learned to do not long ago, and so far it was her only form of movement. Even then, Cailida didn't get that far away. She looked at her mother and blew a raspberry, sticking her tongue out right after.
"Oh that does it, young lady!" Clarion mocked a serious tone, but busted into giggles right after. "Mommy is going to eat you up!" She scooped up her three-month-old and began to kiss all over her face and hands and arms. This caused uproar of laughter from Cailida. Clarion blew the occasional raspberry into her daughter's skin, which would only make her squirm and giggle harder.
Soon the mother and daughter duo calmed down slightly and Cailida snuggled into her mother's warm embrace. Clarion hugged her baby back and sighed. By now, Milori had begun to make his way to his wife and heard her sigh.
"What was that?" He asked gently, sitting next to her on the floor.
"What was what?" She asked confused. "I was just playing with Cailida." Clarion chuckled after a second. Cailida heard her name and looked up. Seeing her father, she smiled and blew a raspberry in his direction.
"You got guts to be doing that kid!" Milori jokingly leaned in toward her. "Because you never know when," He started in a quiet tone, "someone will do it back!" He said with more energy as he blew a raspberry into her cheek. Callie giggled uncontrollably in her mother's arms. Clarion giggled as well and rubbed Cailida's back in order to get her to calm down again. It was almost bed time for the princess.
"That's my girl. Why don't we relax a little?" Clarion spoke in a gentle voice. Cailida looked up and smiled at her mother, who smiled back. Satisfied, Cailida turned to her father and smiled. Milori smiled brightly and pulled Clarion closer, kissing Cailida's head in the process. Seeing as everyone was happy, Cailida curled up to Clarion's torso and drifted into a light slumber.
"She's so beautiful." Milori whispered, stroking his daughter's golden hair. It had gotten a little longer since her birth, but hadn't changed from the original honey brown color.
"I know. We are very blessed to have her." Clarion leaned on to her husband, who wrapped his arms around her.
"So, are you going to tell me what that was?" He whispered in her ear. Clarion turned her head slightly to look at him.
"What are you talking about? I told you, I was playing with Callie. I know it probably looked funny, but that's what makes her happy." Clarion was confused now. Hadn't she already answered her lover's question?
"No, dear. I was asking about that sigh I heard earlier." He reached his hand up and brushed hair out of his wife's face. "Is something wrong?"
"No, nothing is wrong." Clarion sighed again and looked to the baby sleeping on her stomach. Cailida's hands gripped Clarion's top. "I just thought of how close we were to losing each other for good."
"Oh honey…" Milori sighed and pulled Clarion closer. "We would have never lost you. We are a part of each other, and even when one of us is missing, we still feel their presence." He comforted her with his words and a kiss.
"She's so young. To lose your mother so young, I don't even want to think about it." Clarion's eyes misted over with tears and sadness.
"Hey now, don't go soft on me…" He mocked what she had told him earlier in the week. Clarion rolled her eyes, but smiled. He wiped away her tears and kissed the top of her head. "That's better."
Clarion broke the embrace and stood up. Milori looked puzzled; he hadn't thought he had upset her. Clarion carried Cailida to her crib and placed her in it gently.
"See you in the morning, my beautiful girl." Clarion whispered, kissing Cailida's forehead. Callie was now in deep slumber and wasn't woken by this change. Milori followed her lead and doubled check to make sure Callie was sleeping peacefully. When he walked into the bedroom, he was greeted by a kiss.
"Please, let me become a part of you again." Clarion begged in a whisper. Milori gave her half a smile and scooped her up in his arms. Clarion let out a little squeak, but smiled happily as he carried her to the bed.
Milori laid her down gently and crawled on top, making sure not to put too much weight on his wife. Clarion ran her hands up his strong back and began to thread through his hair.
"I've always loved your hair." She whispered as she leant up to kiss him. He chuckled and pulled her into tight hug. "What are you doing?" She giggled as he hugged her. It had been some time, but her husband hadn't let go.
"I just want to hug you." He whispered. That's when it hit Clarion. Her sudden death and resurrection had had a greater effect on her husband than she had thought. He was trying to be strong for her, but now she could just hardly see through it.
"Come here, honey…" She whispered and pulled him closer. If fact, she pulled him as close as he could get. He began to silently cry into her chest. All Clarion did was rub his back lovingly and hold him closer.
"I lost you, Clarion!" He cried. She had never seen her husband so visibly upset. "And it wasn't like before! Before I had hope that you'd come back, but I didn't have hope this time!" He gripped at her tighter and Clarion finally threw herself into his embrace, hugging back with all her might.
"Just let it out, my love." She whispered. Milori continued to sob as Clarion cradled his head.
"I just can't lose you. I just can't lose you." He repeated over and over. Clarion slowly kissed the side of his head. "I promised myself I wouldn't lose you, but I did. I couldn't protect you and you died!" He slowly looked up into her eyes. He was expecting her to be upset at his outburst, but the only emotion in her eyes was love. "I promised."
"And you kept that promise." Clarion whispered. She saw he was going to question her, so she continued. "Cailida saved me, and you helped me make her. So, in a way, you saved me." She giggled lightly. He only looked at her with sad eyes. "Honey, you said earlier we are a part of each other. And I know that is so true." Her voice had dropped to a low whisper. The two lovers had finally noticed their position.
Milori's head rested in her lap; his arms were wrapped tightly around her waist. She looked down; arms wrapped around his shoulders, and stared deeply into his eyes. Milori read her silent plead and began to kiss her stomach. He reached down and took hold of the bottom of his lover's shirt. Lifting it up, he began to kiss her bare skin. He tossed Clarion's shirt to the side and slowly began to kiss upwards, starting at her stomach.
"Oh Milori…" Clarion moaned as he kissed her breast. She cupped his cheeks and brought his up head level to hers. She kissed him deeply as he pulled them around the bed. They landed softly, Clarion lying across her husband's chest. She kissed him again. "Don't doubt yourself, my love. You are amazing at protecting me."
"Oh! This place looks flitterific!" Gliss squealed as she jumped up and down. The girls had just finished the decorations for Queen Clarion's party. Even though it was late, they knew it wasn't too late to have fun.
Calling everyone in the hollow, they all flew to the ballroom. They were met by golden streamers and balloons. There was food all around and beautiful music playing.
"We just need to get the queen!" Tinkerbell giggled.
"We'll go get Clarion." Vidia said as she grabbed Rosetta and Mary's arms. They flew to the bedroom and knocked on the door. Nothing. They knocked again. This time they heard the shuffling of feet. The door slowly opened and Clarion poked her head out.
"Hey Ree…" Mary said with a sly smile on her face. The girls all shared a look, noticing how Clarion only opened the door enough for her head to be seen. "Is everything alright in there?"
"Yeah," Vidia chuckled. "We don't need to investigate anything, do we?" With that the girls overpowered the queen and barged into the room. Clarion began blushing scarlet red when they looked over to see Milori dead asleep, the bed sheet barely covering him.
"My, my, my…" Rosetta chuckled, throwing an arm around Clarion. "Looks like our girl's been busy!" The three girls began to laugh and snicker. Clarion followed them shortly. Her friends always found some way to make her laugh.
"Huh…Clarion?" Milori sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He blinked a couple times to see Clarion in her robe laughing with her friends.
"Look at that, girls! Lover boy is awake!" Vidia fluttered over and placed on arm on Milori's shoulder. "You'll have to have more fun with our girl later. Tinkerbell threw a party for Clarion, so you'll have to get dressed."
"Much to her disappointment." Mary snorted under her breath to Rosetta. She snickered quietly.
"A party? Why would she throw me a party?" Clarion asked confused. Suddenly, Callie's cried could be heard, so, after throwing her husband his robe, Clarion began to make her way to the nursery.
"For the rise of the mummy, of course!" Mary cheered. Everyone chuckled at the tinker's clever comment as Clarion bounced her daughter. Within seconds, the little girl was asleep again.
"So, are you guys going to come?" Rosetta asked.
"I don't know…Cailida might need me…" Clarion was uncertain. Milori wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Tinkerbell would be upset that you didn't come. She planned it all for you." Mary stepped in with a voice of reason. Seeing as though they weren't going to give up, Milori spoke up.
"We can bring the baby monitors, Clarion. If she cries, we'll hear her." She looked between her husband and her friends, and then looked at her baby.
"Oh alright…" She sighed. "Just give us a few minutes to get ready!" Her friends filed out of the room, smiling and waving.
"Are you sure you want to go?" Milori asked, wrapping his arms around Clarion's waist.
"Yes, but I don't want to stay too long." The royal couple got ready for the party and walked down.
Clarion walked into the ballroom and everyone cheered. She laughed joyously as she clutched the baby monitor. They went on to dance and eat. It was around elven when the baby monitor began to go off. Clarion gathered her husband and began to go home. She stopped to talk to Tinkerbell.
"Thank you for the wonderful party!" She hugged the tinker fairy tightly.
"You're leaving already?" Tink asked sadly. Clarion nodded her head.
"I have a baby to go take care of. I'm so sorry."
"It's ok, Queen Clarion! I'll see you later!" Tinkerbell was then off to go have fun.
"Ready?" Milori took her hand. Clarion nodded and they began to walk back to their room, back to their lives.
