Collapsing on her fluffy bed, Lucy lets out a long groan.

Why did she kiss Natsu?

Covering her face with her own two hands she feels her cheeks boil.

Of course she's had suggestive feelings for him, but what if being with him will somehow torture him? He knows her from before the accident…what if he's still searching for the old Lucy?

"I'm such an idiot…" The blonde mutters to herself, rolling around her bed and squealing like a four year old out of frustration.

Stupid heart, stupid feelings, stupid complicated past.

And not to mention that it's Christmas tomorrow and she's still in a fight with her parents.

Thankfully she managed to avoid them as she sped from the doorway to her bedroom, ignoring their pleas for her to talk with them.

How was she going to apologize after saying such a horrible thing to them?

Would they even forgive her?

Slamming her face down on her pillow, she pounds her fist down on the bed and flails her legs around.

Lucy knew she screwed up, not just with her parents but with Natsu too.

Merry freaking Christams to me.

She thinks sarcastically, rolling over on her back and staring up at her ceiling. The blonde is about to indulge in yet another rant when a knock on her door interrupts her thoughts.

"Lucy, please come out." Her mother's voice travels through the door, so sweet and gentle that Lucy is tempted to speak out.

But, she bites her tongue, not trusting that her voice is even stable to speak.

Her mother sighs.

"Your father and I can't even begin to imagine how you're feeling right now…we know we kept a huge secret from you."

Lucy agrees with that, nodding her head as if her mother can see through the door.

"But, try to see things from our point of view. We lost our daughter Lucy, the one person we both cherish most. And when we found out that Natsu was with you at that party we immediately blamed him, hearing how he failed to protect you."

Layla's voice breaks slightly, and Lucy can hear her sucking in a deep breath before continuing.

"We only wanted to keep you safe after that, so we made sure to become the best parents we could ever be…because before we also failed you."

And the blonde listens as her mother's voice cracks, and her breathing quickens slightly.

"We weren't even able to protect you! All your father and I ever did was fail you. We tried everything to help you get your memory back. We hired the best doctors, the best therapists; we even tried some natural remedies hoping to stimulate your brain to remember. But, failure after failure we had to give up on the fact that you were never going to get your memory back."

And now her mother is crying, her sobs muffling her own voice as she continues.

"The both of us never stopped loving you Lucy, with your memories or without you are still our daughter and we never meant to hurt you. We…we only wanted to give you your best chance."

Lucy's eyes widen at this, and listening to her mother say those words she feels the pang of guilt build up in her chest.

How could she have blamed them? Her parents were great people, and she should have known that they would never have intentionally hurt her…she knew they loved her and yet she proclaimed that she should hate them.

The blonde feels tears well up in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry Lucy, so sorry that we didn't tell you sooner. Your father and I just didn't know how, we didn't know what it could do to you…but it seems that after you met Natsu everything just started to unravel itself. It seems that you really didn't need protecting after all. And quite possibly, maybe you didn't…maybe it was us who needed to know that you were in your own little bubble of a world, that you were safe from all of your past sins, sins you didn't even know you committed."

Layla sniffles up her tears, chuckling lightly to herself as she realizes what a fool her husband and her have been.

"How could you ever even forgive us?" Layla finishes, a tear cascading down her cheek.

Lucy, hearing enough, sits up from her bed and walks over to the door, flinging it open.

Her mother stares at her with wet and wide eyes. Lucy notes that her eyes are red and puffy from crying, funnily enough mirroring her own eyes.

"I should be the one apologizing." Lucy says, tears flowing down her cheeks as she breaks down in sobs.

She doesn't even think, but runs to her mother's arms and embraces her and buries her head in her mother's neck.

Shocked by this gesture, Layla's eyes widen before she rubs her daughter's back and rests her chin on her shoulder, crying as well.

"I'm so sorry mom, I don't hate you or dad…I-I overreacted." Lucy sniffles, her shoulders shaking as she cries even harder.

A small smile spreads across Layla's lips as a pair of large arms envelope the both of them.

"We love you Lucy, and we're sorry." Her father says, his voice tender and filled with so much love that Lucy shivers and feels the guilt stab her heart even harder.

"I-I…I love you both s-so much!" Lucy yells out, grabbing the back of her father's shirt and crumpling it with her fingers.

Her parents smile at each other, sharing a teary look before closing their eyes and leaning their heads together in a loving gesture.

The Heartphilia's really were a loving family.

It made Lucy's heart swell.

She was so lucky.

AN: A super short chapter since I didn't feel like adding this in the next one would really flow well...the next chapter will be focused on Christmas day and all of the holiday bliss. (FLUFF INCLUDED MY FRIENDS) So, yes this chapter is rather on the heartwarming sad family fluff stuff so like I didn't want to add it.

And yes Lucy is regretting the kiss (mwahahaha you are all going to kill me) but honestly step into her shoes for a second.

*steps into Lucy's shoes*

She's a sweet and caring girl, who honestly looks out for other's feelings more than her own, so it's obvious that she'd overthink the kiss to an extreme. She's putting herself in Natsu's perspective and realizing that he's still in love with her, even after all those years, which means he must be holding onto the Lucy of the past. This is a conflicting moment for her since she doesn't know her old self.

*steps out of shoes*

^^^^ Do you see what I mean? It's not all of her thoughts, but it gives you a tad of what's going on in her mind.

What do you think Lucy will do about this?

FIND OUT IN THE NEXT CHAPTER...OF SAYING THANK YOU, GOING UP (LOLOLOL I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THAT!)

*feels cool as Sophie throws on her lame shades*

i'm in a weird mood please don't hate me.

Well this wasn't awkward or anything ^_^ next chapter will be pretty long, at least I'm hoping i'll get up my lazy butt and make it long. (: SORRY THIS CHAPPIE IS SO SHORT BTW.

am i bipolar? 0-o

Until next chapter, toodles~
