Melissa's POV
A month later Harry and I were walking to the Gryffindor common room from the library after working on homework for Potions class. We already miss dinner so we have to head back to the Gryffindor common room. I already asked Harry if I could barrow the invisibility cloak and I also asked Fred and George for the Marauder's map. I am planning on sneaking down to the kitchen at night to grab something to eat.
"I can't believe how much homework Snape gives us!" Harry said while throwing his hands in the air. I laughed. I patted Harry on the back.
"Oh come on Bro it isn't that ba-" I started saying, but Harry and I heard that creepy voice from a month ago in Fakefart's office. My hair starts turning white.
"Blood... I smell blood..." The voice said. It sound like it was coming from the wall?
"Let me rip you... let me kill you..." the voice said. My hair is really white now. Harry starts tracing his hand on the wall. We started walking trying to follow whatever is speaking, it sound like it was moving faster so we picked up our speed. We are about to round the corner when we bumped into Ron and Hermione.
"Harry, Melissa!" Hermione said. Ron then noticed that my hair was white.
"Melissa your hair is white." Ron said.
"You wouldn't say." I said. I then turned my head, and my hair was now as white as it could go, and I didn't like what I saw. Harry was talking with Ron and Hermione when I was looking at what is on the wall in front of me. Then Harry saw what I was looking at, which is Flich's cat Miss Norris hanging looking dead with blood writing on the wall with water below it that said 'THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED ENEMIES OF THE HEIR... BEWARE.'
"'The Chamber of Secrets has been opened...?'" Hermione asked confused.
"What's that? Hanging underneath?" Ron asked. I tried speaking, but no words could come out of my mouth. So Harry spoke for me.
"That's Filch's cat. Mrs. Norris." Harry said. I just stood frozen in place while the others went over by the window seeing the spiders going out the crack in it. Just then every house came down the hallway we were in. I didn't turn my head or anything, but I could feel everyone starring at Harry, Ron, Hermione and I. I did turn to see Fred and George looking at me shocked and worried. Ashley was also shocked. Then Filch came through the crowd.
"What's going on here? Go on now! Make way..." He said then he looks at his cat.
"Mrs. Norris!" Filch cried. Then Filch rounded on me and grabbed my arm really hard, my hair is stripped with really bright white and orange. I tried getting out of his grip.
"Let go of my sister!" Harry shouted. I was struggling to get out of Filch's grip.
"You! You've murdered my cat! I'll kill you! I'll -" Filch started shouting in my face, but was cut off by Dumbledore.
"Argus! Let go of Ms. Potter this instance!" Dumbledore said. Filch let go of me and I fell to the ground, I got up and hid behind my brother with my hair white with a hint of blue coming in. I am almost crying.
"Everyone will proceed to their dormitories immediately." Dumbledore said to everyone. Harry, Ron, Hermione and I were walking back with them until...
"Everyone except you four." Dumbledore said. Then the four of us stopped and as the corridor empties Dumbledore walks over to and took her off of the lamp.
"It was definitely a curse that killed her - probably the Transmogrifian Torture. Encountered it myself once, in Ouagadougou. The full story's in my autobiography..." Lockhart said going off about himself. I was to scared and upset to make fun of him right now.
"She's not dead, Argus. She's been Petrified." Dumbledore told Filch. I zoned out the rest of the conversation because I started getting scared, worried and sad wondering what everyone was thinking about us. I knew the conversation must have been over because my brother took my hand and started walking to the Gryffindor common room. Once we got there I just walked right up to the girl dormitories and grabbed the invisibility cloak and Marauder's Map. As soon as I made it look like I was in my bed I put on the cloak and waited for Hermione come in. After she did I sneeked out the closing door and went down to the common room. I took the cloak off put my wand on the map.
"Prongs shouts Melissa Lily Potter get you butt back to bed now!" Prongs/my dad shouted from the map. Yeah I know my dad is dead, but his younger self still has fatherly senses since he found out I was his daughter.
"Padfoot, Wormtail, and Moony says you better do what he says." Padfoot, Wormtail, and Moony said.
"I missed dinner Prongs I am just getting something to snack on." I said in a little shaky voice.
"Prongs calms down and looks concerned along with Padfoot, Moony and Wormtail. What's wrong?" They all asked me.
"I don't want to talk about it." I said even quieter.
"Prongs says I'm sorry if it was me yelling at you that made you upset." Prongs/dad said.
"It wasn't you Prongs." I said, then I hear someone coming.
"Someones coming talk to you guys some other time." I said.
"Prongs, Moony, Padfoot and Wormtail says till next time Ms. Potter" The for say and I took my wand off of the map. I then turned to see George by the staircase. I just stood there with my hair still white with blue in it. George sees this and comes over to me and hugs me. I just broke down crying right there. George then walks us over to the couch and sit down and I just cried into his chest. I started feeling sleepy while crying. I then fell asleep in George's arms.
George's POV
Everyone started to leave for the common rooms after dinner was done. Melissa wasn't there along with her brother Harry. Then everyone started stopping. Fred and I make are way through the crowd to see what was up. Then we were able to see on the wall in blood written words. Fred and I were shocked. Then we see Melissa standing there frozen with really white hair. Then Fred's and my face gave a worried look to Melissa. Melissa was able to move and looked at us. Her face was really pale. I know for sure Melissa didn't do this. Then Filch came through the crowd and got in front of everyone.
"What's going on here? Go on now! Make way..." He said then he looks at his cat.
"Mrs. Norris!" Filch cried. Then he rounded on Melissa and grabbed her arm. Melissa's hair started to get orange stripes in it. Filch is hurting her. Melissa tries getting out of Filch's grip.
"Let go of my sister!" Harry shouted. Melissa still was struggling to get out of Filch's grip. Fred and I tried to get past everyone to help her, but we couldn't get through.
"You! You've murdered my cat! I'll kill you! I'll -" Filch started shouting in Melissa's face, but was cut off by Dumbledore.
"Argus! Let go of Ms. Potter this instance!" Dumbledore said. Filch let go of Melissa and she fell to the ground. Her hair started to be all white again with a hint of blue. Melissa then got up and ran and hid behind her brother. I could see that Melissa was almost in tears. I wanted to go and run to her and make sure she was okay, but I still couldn't get through.
"Everyone will proceed to their dormitories immediately." Dumbledore said to everyone. Melissa, Ron, Harry and Hermione tried coming along with us, but I heard Dumbledore told them to stay.
"There is no way Melissa did that!" I said. Fred and Ashley nodded along with me.
"Melissa is a prankster, but she wouldn't go that far with a prank." Fred said.
"Did you guys see her hair, her hair was really a bright white and her face was really pale. There was no way Mel do that." Ashley said. All around us everyone was whispering about Melissa, Harry, Ron and Hermione. Fred and I said goodnight to Ashley who went up to the girl dormitories while Fred and I went to ours. I tried sleeping, but I couldn't because I was worried about Melissa. I got out of bed and went down to the common room and see Melissa with the Marauders map.
Her hair was still white with a hint of blue. I went over to Melissa and pulled her into a hug. Melissa then breaks down crying in my arms. Her hair was blue and I walked us over to one of the couches. Melissa kept crying into my chest, after a little while she fell asleep in my arms. I then lay on the couch so we both could get some sleep. I patted Melissa's hair as she sleeps on my chest. I want to protect Melissa the best I can. Then next morning I woke up to see Melissa still in my arms which are wrapped around her waist. I also see a smirking Fred and Ashley. I blushed.
"What do we have here?" Fred asked in a whisper.
"It's not what you think." I said back in whisper.
"Oh really it looks like you and my friend are sleep on one of the couches together." Ashley said. I think my face just got even more red.
"Shut up!" I said. Then I started shaking Melissa awake softly. She mumbled something and didn't get up.
"Melissa wake up Malfoy cut your hair while you were asleep." I said. Then Melissa shot awake and her face had a shocked expression and her hair went white. She jumped out of my arms and grabbed her hair to see if it was true. Then her hair turn red while Fred and Ashley was laughing. I was chuckling myself a but. Then Ashley went over went over to Melissa and whispered something in her ear. Melissa's face started turning red and her hair turned pink. Then she ran to the girl dormitories with a laughing Ashley behind her.
"You better not mention this to anyone not even her brother or he will kill me." I told Fred referring about Melissa sleeping in my arms last night.
"My lips are seal." Fred said with a chuckle. Then we went and got ready for the day.
Melissa's POV
I felt someone softly shaking me awake, I mumbled gibberish and tried going back to bed.
"Melissa wake up Malfoy cut your hair while you were asleep." Someone said. I shot up awake with a shocked face and my hair turning white. I jumped up and was checking my hair to make sure it was all still on my head. I started to get angry and my hair starts turning red, while I see Fred and Ashley laughing while George was chuckling. Then Ashley came over to me and cup her hand around my ear.
"Do you know how Fred and I found you? In George's arm sleeping on his chest." She whispered in my ear. I felt my face heat up with my hair turning pink. I then ran to the girl dormitories with Ashley behind me laughing. I got into to our dormitory and see Hermione awake and she was looking at Ashley and me weirdly.
"Melissa are you alright your face is all red and your hair is pink." Hermione said.
"Yeah just fine." I said. Ashley then put her arm on around my shoulder.
"Hermione guess where I found our little Mel Bell this morning." Ashley said. I started blushing more if that was even possible and my hair went even more pink.
"Where?" Hermione asked.
"Sleeping on one of the couches in the Common Room in George's arms." Ashley said. Hermione looked at me then Ashley and she squealed, Ashley soon joined along with her.
"What did they look like?" Hermione asked.
"Like a really cute and perfect couple!" Ashley said. Hermione did an awe sound.
"Okay guys that's enough! He was only comforting me for what happened last night." I said.
"Sure he was." Ashley and Hermione said. I rolled my eyes.
"He was and we don't speak of this to Ron and Harry got it?" I asked them.
"Our lips are sealed." They say while pretending to zip their lips shut. I laughed and got ready for the day. I can't help but have a smile on my lips thinking about George.
