Chap 12-The battle for the future begins.
Blazer watched as the Stone creatures invaded her home. Rage blossomed in the pit of her stomach. But she had to make sure kids were safe. She ran through the surrounding forest, making sure no one was out roaming around.
She caught a blur of stone creature flying past her... Except that was a whole, perfectly fine ...one that need to be smashed. She snarled and turned taking off.
She found it trying to tear into the door of the underground shelters and lost it, her powers suddenly snapped what little control she had over them. Especially when she saw the terrified face of Hannah. This time her whole body turned red and her feet burned through her shoes and started to burn the grass, then almost instantly, a blue energy surrounded her and lifted her off the ground,STAY AWAY FROM MY KIDS," she screamed and as she pointed her hands at the stone creatures as they turned to face her.
They tried to run, but Kala easily split them into stone remains as they flew around her. Her powers were out of control, but she fought them back down. That's when everything went dark.
Three days later from previous chapter...
Wolverine looked up from the crowd that surrounded him. They were all cheering,"Apocalypse! Apocalypse," Wolverine wanted to growl, but he could sense that most of these people hated Apocalypse. Of course there was that small percent that he could sense that were thinking he was the best thing since sliced bread.
Wolverine watched as the arena before him was suddenly full of sand. The pyramid walls around him were similar to the danger room. So Apocalypse stole tech now...
Wolverine watched, trembling in anger, as Apocalypse, Sinister and that unnamed mutant strode forward. A small levitating cage in the shape of a pyramid followed them. Wolverine could easily see the small form of Blazer. Blazer's hands were bound and a gag firmly placed on her mouth.
The cage was opened and Blazer was thrown forward into the arena. She landed hard on the sand. Wolverine saw the Inhibitor collar that was secured around her neck. She wriggled out of the gag and started snarling and turned to face Apocalypse,"Coward," she screamed,"Murderer," she started to scream a few profanities next but for the sake of younger readers let's skip them shall we... The mutants around them were booing her but she didn't care.
Wolverine smirked as Blazer stood and her bindings fell to the sand. They soon dissolved into sand. Apocalypse laughed,"It seems we are in the Presence of the last X-Man alive. Ladies and Gentlemen, and I swore that I'd kill her if any X-men did not appear. Should I still go through with he execution?"
The crowd cheered for Blazer's death, making Apocalypse the judge, them the jury, but who would be the executioner?
"Very well," Apocalypse cried,"Open the gate!"
A gate, at the opposite side of the arena, slowly began to open. Blazer turned on her heel (no her literal heel. She had no shoes) to face it, and even without her powers, she prepared for a fight to the death. Wolverine tensed as a stone replica of a Prowler from the MRD ran out on all six legs.
As it approached Blazer, Wolverine pulled up his costume's mask and then tensed. As the Prower raised it's claw to hit Blazer, Woverine leapt into the arena, his claws out and practically nothing to loose.
Blazer jumped away as Wolverine made quick work of the stone Prowler. Kala was shocked to see her old teammate. Kala herself looked a little worse for wear, her red streaks were gone, he hair having grown them out and unable to use her powers, she was thin, and had shadows under her eyes. But, her eyes lit up when she saw Wolverine land on the Prowler,"Logan," she cried happily.
Wolverine ran over to Blazer,"Hold still," he growled before he slashed the Inhibitor collar off. Kala grabbed Logan into a big hug, and erupted into tears.
"I thought you all were dead," She wailed,"After the first few days I thought you'd come get me but after the first few months... I... I gave up..."
Wolverine hugged her back with a small, sad, yet reassuring smile,"I'm sorry darlin. I really am."
A booming laugh echoed over head them. Kala whimpered and curled tighter to Wolverine,"So there was actually one left," Apocalypse said," I am surprised. Now tell me Wolverine. What will you do now?"
Wolverine smirked,"Take the girl and leave."
Apocalypse laughed as if he thought the response was a joke. Sinister spoke,"Wolverine, I have to say. Your foolishness proceeds you- neither of you will leave alive."
"Oh," Wolverine said coolly,"I think we are leaving. And we're also gonna take you down before we go."
The gate opened again and more stone statutes, big and small, human and animalistic marched out.
"You and what army," Apocalypse said darkly.
Suddenly, there was the twang of a bowstring and an arrow, lit with purple fire, buried itself deep into the metal of the balcony near Sinister's foot. They all looked up to see Nicole on Sköll's back, ready to fire another flaming arrow. A few feet below her, perched on the roofs of other homes, we're the other X-Men and the G.O.D. members. Dusky sat on Hati and was hovering right next to Nicole, with purple flames in one hand, she drew out her purple sword with the other,"This army!"
The crowd screamed and ran away in terror as the X-Men let loose a battle cry and ran forward- the battle for the future had began.
