Some time before:
Sollux saw a flash come from the sea of people and Vriska Serket behind it. "Hey ff I'll be right back.." he absent mindedly told her before stalking off to find the spider bitch. "Hey Sollux. Having fun over there?" she smirked. "Listen to me serket, what are you doing taking pictures of my date and I and who the hell are you sending them too?" he tried not to reveal his paranoia. "Why aradia or course, you can't expect a good friend to just leave her girl hangin' when she catches her cheating EX boyfriend in the act." She hissed. "Ex?" the boy questioned, "Well you may not be yet but you are going to be after she gets this" she let out a sinister chuckle. Just then Feferi came up behind Sollux and tapped him on the shoulder, "What's going on?" she asked, glancing at Vriska whom she had never had good feelings for. "Nothing, just the exchanging of pleasantries between friends" she mocked Feferi's usually happy tone. "Well if you are finished here, I'd like to take him back from you" she declared taking Sollux's arm and leading him away. "What the shell that was all about?" she asked Sollux, "Nothing I was just saying hello, I saw her taking a picture but it wasn't even of us." The taller boy glanced at the spider bitch who was still quickly jamming away at the keys on her phone, growing more nervous with each moment. One fire at a time Sollux. He took Feferi's hand and began to twirl her around the dance floor, he was determined not to let anyone ruin this night for her.
Feferi let out a chuckle while they danced she was so happy to be around people again, seeing as a year previous she had been attending homeschool. As a child feferi lived by the sea side, attending seahorse elementary where she met her childhood friend Eridan. Having an absent father meant nothing to her as long as she had Eridan there to protect her. Then in fifth grade Eridan moved away and began attending a school further inland. Feferi should have advanced to middle school but her mother, with a rising company on the baked goods market, pulled her out and into homeschool so she could help and learn company line she was next in line to receive. Her older sister meenah had originally been first in line for this sacred spot but she ended up dropping out her junior year in high school and their mother kicked her out on the grounds that "She was not going to have a bad influence looming over the last precious thing she had" and that was the last Feferi had seen of her.
Feferi began begging to go to public school again because she missed having people around. All she could do at home was swim, talk to Eridan, and help with the baking and company operations. Over the next few years Feferi and her mother moved time and time again depending on the locations of where the next baked goods factory was going until finally her mother settled into one town Feferi's 'junior' year. For those three torturously long years she kept badgering her mother about it until finally the summer before senior year her mother deemed it safe enough to attended public school again. Upon entry she signed up for the swim team and quickly made a bunch of new friends. (including re kindling her friendship with Eridan for a while) Eventually meeting her best friend and prom date Sollux.
He pulled her in close after the last turn and examined her for a second, taking in her entire face – all her features from her stunning deep sea blue eyes, to her freckles, down to her perfect rose shaped lips. God she reminded him of aradia, he wondered where that thought had come from before quickly pushing it out of his head. He wrapped one of his arms around her waist though skinny, his arms were all muscle from his daily workout on his laptop, he pulled her in as close as she could before bending down and meeting her lips with his as gently as he could. Feferi stood on her toes to lean into him turning a deep scarlet.
Sollux's heart was going wild in his chest. This was supposed to feel incredible and right but instead he felt wrong in every way. He pulled away from the smaller girl and looked back into her gleaming eyes before hurriedly saying "I need to use the restroom. Be right back." He spun around and headed for the bathrooms outside the dance floor. Weaving through the crowd he was almost to the doors when someone took hold of his shoulders and spun him around. Oh shit.
Okay so hiatus over and we begin anew with a cliffhanger, on a side note in my absence thank yall for reading, commenting, following, and favoriting. I will be posting the next chapter soon I just have to figure out all this smut business.
