Chapter 11: A Deal Between Sides

(The Garage)
The new Rangers were getting settled into their counterparts' home. No matter how long or brief their time would be spent there, Dr. K's team made sure to make the new arrivals feel welcomed. Mike was having the time of his life engaged in a classic arcade racing game which he was currently facing against Ziggy while trading quips and jokes at each other. Emily was currently engrossed in the pool game going on as she sat on a bar stool as she watched Summer and Antonio play a close game of pool while Flynn was standing behind her at the bar currently mixing up a smoothie for her. Kevin sat off on one side away from the others trying to get in a part of his daily samurai training by meditating while Mia was currently searching through the cabinets, pantry, and refrigerator.
"This place is great." Mike commented as he plopped down in a leather chair.
"This is no time to relax Mike, we have to stay focused. We need to get back and help Jayden." Kevin sighed and shook his head at how Mike was handling the situation.
"We will Kevin, but we don't know how." Emily spoke up from the spot she was sitting at after taking a sip of her smoothie.
"I know how I can improve the mood around here, how about I cook all you guys dinner?" Mia smiled as she turned to the other members of Scott's team. They all looked at each other, not noticing the waving of the Samurai Rangers in dissuading them from taking up Mia's suggestion.
"You know that sounds great, I could go with a good home cooked meal." Ziggy piped up smiling, oblivious to the groans that the Samurai made while Mia gave each of them a triumphant look.
"Great, um can one of you show me the way to the market." Mia asked.
"I'll go. I'm running short on smoothie ingredients anyway." Flynn stood up and led the way to his hummer.
"As long as you're out Ranger Blue, would you mind picking up more Mr. Marshmallow boxes." Dr. K's voice came as she walked past them carrying a box of the sweet snack and retreated back into her lab. Flynn and Mia drove out of the garage while Summer scored the winning shot in the pool game while Antonio sighed in his defeat before congratulating the yellow ranger on her victory. Placing the cue stick down, he walked over and saw Dillon fumbling with what appeared to be two different key shaped objects that had necklace chains attached to them.
"You know, it looks like that smaller key fits into the bigger one amigo." Antonio pointed out, the response was for Dillon to glare up at him.
"If I wanted your help, I would of asked for it." Dillon growled back as he stood up and roughly pushed past the Gold Ranger.
"Only trying to help." Antonio threw his hands up in surrender.
"Don't mind him, he's like that with everyone." Summer came up and gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
"Why's he like that anyway?" Emily asked curiously.
"Unlike the rest of us, Dillon is a hybrid. He has robotic machinery implants inside of him, along with the fact there is a virus within him as well that is trying to take him over. He's been searching for who he is and also he is searching for his sister who he lost." Summer explained.
"That and the whole amnesia thing makes our boy pretty cranky and antisocial at times." Ziggy added in.
"Man I wouldn't want to get on his bad side." Mike sighed.
"Trust me, you already are." Ziggy replied back remembering when Dillon had said that exact same thing to him.
Dillon moved away from the rest of the others and leaned against a corner as he looked down at the keys. One was his, and the other belonged to his sister and the two objects had a connection between them. Sighing to himself, he gave into the other Ranger's suggestion and placed the smaller key into the bigger key.
"It fits." He whispered in amazement as he noted how easily the smaller key fit into the bigger one. Instinctively he pulled out his pocket watch and inserted the key into it and turned it. A musical theme played out of the pocket watch, but it was different from the theme he was used to hearing. It took him a few minutes to realize that the theme playing was similar to the tune that Tenaya always whistled, than it him that it was the tune Tenaya whistled. He stared down at the watch in a mixture of amazement and horror, could it be true that what Tenaya told him. Could she really be his long lost sister? He thought it was a sick joke she was playing to try and get him to Venjix's side and confirmed that thought when she admitted that. But now he was questioning if perhaps Tenaya was telling the truth, but perhaps didn't know the truth herself. His brain wanted to keep denying that this was true, but slowly as the tune played in it slowly turned to acceptance that Tenaya was his sister. He got up and ran straight towards the Fury, hopping in and starting it before zooming in a flash of smoke.
"Is that something he does as well? Drive off without telling anyone?" Kevin asked as he watched.
"Unfortunately." Both Summer and Ziggy said at the same time.
(Venjix Palace)
"And there is nothing more you can tell me about those new Rangers?" Venjix asked as he turned to look down at Tenaya 7.
"Apart from being old fashioned with those swords that's all I'm telling you that I know." Tenaya replied back in frustration as she pointed again at the image taken of the new arrived Power Rangers from another dimension.
"Perhaps the professor sent them here." Kilobyte stroked his chin as he studied the image, "But why?"
"It matters not now they have the help of the city's Rangers which complicates my plans." Venjix retorted.
"Master we've done it." Crunch giggled as he walked over to stand in Venjix's view while Shifter pressed a button on a console and walked over to stand next to Crunch.
"I present my next creation, the Generation 14 Hyper Bot. However it is a prototype, but I believe it shall serve as new body until the finished version is complete my master." Shifter pointed out his design as a crane pulled the attack bot out of the basin and presented it to all in the world room to see.
"It looks like a primitive human." Kilobyte pointed out as he looked at it.
"As much as I hate to agree with him, Kilobyte is right. It looks like nothing more then an overgrown gorilla." Tenaya motioned with her arm at the absurdity of the design of the attack bot.
"Enough, the both of you. Begin the download." Venjix ordered.
"Oh boy, can't wait." Crunch broke into a fit of laughter as he plugged in a cable into the back of the attack bot's head. There was a flash of light as the robot's eyes glowed red before the body started moving on its own.
"General Shifter you have done well. This body will suit me until your final version is complete." Venjix took a minute to get used to his new body before turning to his followers.
"What shall we do with the new Rangers?" Tenaya asked.
"Perhaps I can help with that little problem?" A new voice came into the central chamber. All involved turned to the source of the voice and saw a figure unlike any other, Kilobyte came forward and help his sword at the new stranger's throat.
"You are not a robot, nor are you a human. Who are you?" He asked.
"I am merely a friend who is offering a helping hand, but you can call me Serrator." The new figure finished with a chuckle, "It is a pleasure to finally meet you Master Venjix, your Professor Cog has said much about you." He bowed to the virus.
"And where is the professor now?"
"Oh he's dealing with two pesky Red Rangers at the moment. I've come to learn that the rest of the Rangers from my dimension were sent here. I have been sent by my master with a recommendation from the professor in securing an alliance between our two forces and to deal with those pesky Samurai Rangers." Serrator moved around as in almost like a dance as he looked at those who were listening to him, ":Think of it, an alliance between your robots and the Nighlok of my dimension, it will be glorious."
"You think you can come in here and speak of an alliance between us. Before you can do that, deal with those Rangers from your dimension and then we can discuss this alliance."
"Oh I intend to." Serrator replied back with a dark chuckle.
(Corinth City)
"Yum this is really good, I'm going to have to get the recipe for this." Ziggy exclaimed with glee as he placed another helping of the meal Mia made onto his plate. The rest of his team minus Dillon and excluding Gem who was also enjoying the meal were staring at their currently unfinished first plates with uncertainty while their Samurai counterparts were slowly taking bites and swallowing the meal to appease Mia. Dr. K had come out, took one look at the meal before grabbing the bag of Mr. Marshmallow boxes and retreated back into her lab. The alarm went off and all of them leaped away from the dinner table as Dr. K emerged from her lab and pointed a remote at a screen.
"Distress signal coming from the industrial park, I have the location marked into your morpher" Dr. K pointed out.
"Let's go." With Scott missing, Summer took charge of the team as the rest nodded their agreement and jumped into the vehicles and raced off towards the industrial park.
"What are these things?" A Corinth soldier panicked as he took shots at what appeared to be red creatures with dreadlocks wearing yellow garments and carrying swords. No matter how many shots they fired, the creatures kept coming at them.
"Doesn't matter, keep firing." Hicks yelled back as he ducked out of the way as one of the creatures' swords came swinging in his direction and cut cleanly through a lamp post. A sound of relief came as he looked back and saw Dr. K's Rangers pull up in their vehicles.
"Those are faces only a mother would love, wait I take that back not even a mother would love those." Flynn stated as he looked at them.
"What are they?" Ziggy asked.
"They're Moogers, Nighlok from our dimension. Don't worry they may look fierce, but they're easy to take down." Mike replied back as he pulled out his Spin Sword. The Moogers were backed up as Grinders appeared in their ranks making their grinding noise.
"Looks like they've got help." Flynn replied back.
"Here's the plan. Since you're familiar with those things you deal with them. We'll deal with the Grinders." Summer ordered as she looked over at the Samurai Rangers which they nodded their confirmation.
"RPM! Get in Gear! Samuraizer! Go go Samurai!" They shouted as they morphed and engaged in battle with the allied foes. Summer and rest of the team pulled out their Nitro Swords and started striking down Grinders left and right.
"Hydro Bow!" Kevin yelled as he jumped into the air and started his energy arrows at each Mooger that he could see.
"Spin Sword, Forest Vortex!" Mike shouted as he released an energy wave of his elemental power at his opponents. They were all knocked off their feet and evaporated into dust.
"Turbo Cannon!" Flynn switched to his primary weapon as he released loads of energy shots taking out Grinders all around him.
"Try my Barracuda Blade!" Antonio charged as he sliced through a line of Moogers and watched as they fell back unmoving.
"That cares of all of them." Flynn pointed as their foes had been defeated.
"Rangers I am detecting a huge signal coming from a nearby park close to your position. Ranger Series Black is currently in the park, I suggest you make haste in regrouping with him." Dr. K's voice came from her team's morpher.
"Right let's go."
(Elsewhere)
Dillon sat on a park bench as he continued listening to the new pocket watch theme. He half hoped that Tenaya would show up as she often had the timing of showing up at the worst times, but now it seemed different.
"Ahhh is the little ranger lost and confused?" A taunting voice came out which made the Black Ranger jump to his feet. He looked over and saw a figure with six slitted eyes and a malicious grin approaching him.
"And what are you?" Dillon asked.
"I am Serrator, and you must be one of them Power Rangers of this dimension." The figure replied back.
"How do you figure that?" Dillon shot back.
"Like this!" Serrator thrust a hand forward and a beam of lightning shot forth from the hand and impacted into the ground at the ranger's feet sending him onto his back, "See that? That is true power! A power no mere human has or can understand. Power that only I and your Master Venjix have and use."
"Keeping thinking like that. RPM, get in gear!" Dillon morphed and pulled out his Nitro Sword and got into a ready stance.
"Hmmm time to see how well the Rangers of this dimension fare." Serrator chuckled as he vanished in a blink of an eye.
"Where'd he go?" The instant disappearance of his foe had caught Dillon off guard.
"Right behind you!" Serrator's voice came from behind him. Dillon spun around to strike at Serrator, but the Nighlok was quicker as his hands morphed into claws as he parried the Ranger's strike while doing multiple strikes along with side before doing an uppercut slash on the Black Ranger, "You know I expected more from you." Serrator laughed as he watched his foe fall back to the ground and struggled to stand back up, he then launched another wave of lightning.
"Invincibility!" Dillon shouted pressing the button on his morpher. The shield came up and seemed to absorb the lightning for a few seconds before breaking and sending him flying back across the ground. Electricity emanated form his body as he again struggled to stand up from the Nighlok's attack.
"Look around you Black Ranger. All these people to protect, what would happen if I did this," Serrator snapped his fingers and a group of Moogers appeared behind him and started going after the people.
"No!" Dillon yelled as he watched as one of the Moogers chased down an older man. The man tripped over his own feet in trying to escape and held up his arms helplessly in defense as the evil creature advanced upon him. Dillon watched in horror as the Mooger leaned down and breathed a red mist in the man's face. The man started coughing heavily as he started convulsing on the ground, his hands clawing at his throat before he stopped moving.
There were screams around them as more people started screaming and soon started coughing as the creatures were spraying that red mist in their faces. A woman screamed as she tried wiping the mist from her eyes as and collapsed on the ground crying and screaming. Another gentleman was kneeling on the ground heaving heavily as he pushed up the contents of his stomach before collapsing over. The senseless actions against the people only increased Dillon's anger as he pulled out his Rocket Blaster and fired at each of the Moogers. Each one going down and evaporating into dust. He turned his attention at Serrator and fired at him. The Nighlok easily knocked away the blaster shots with his fingers.
"My turn!" Serrator laughed as he formed a blue ball of energy in his hands and then launched it at the Black Ranger. The attack was right on target as the explosion and force knocked Dillon out of his bio-suit.
"Mommy!" A little girl's voice cried. Dillon looked up in pain as he saw a short girl perhaps only five years old crying out for her mom. Behind her he saw one of Serrator's Moogers advance on the girl. Mustering what strength he had left he ran forward and grabbed the girl just as the Mooger let loose a spray of red mist. The girl was moved out of the way in the nick of time, however Dillon got the full force of the Mooger's spray. He started coughing uncontrollably as he rolled around on the ground. An intense pain raked through his body as he struggled to breathe, it was unlike any other pain of being hit or shot by an attack bot. Unlike with those the pain would eventually subside thanks to his machine impants, this pain seemed to keep going and not stop.
"Well this has been fun, until next time Black Ranger!" Serrator laughed and disappeared in a cloud of smoke along with the Moogers that were with him.
"Dillon!" He heard Summer and Ziggy yell at the same time and he weakly looked over and saw the whole group of Rangers run towards him. Some of them broke off to check on the other people who were in the same state he was in while Summer knelt besides him and asked what happened. He wanted to reply to her, but the only noise that came out was a pained groan before his eyes rolled into his head and he passed out only softly hearing Summer yell his name.
(Dr. K's Lab)
"What happening to him?" Summer asked Dr. K as she watched the younger woman run a scanner over Dillon's comatose form, an oxygen mask was over his face. The sound of machines beeping was monitoring the heart beeps.
"I'm detecting a huge amount of negative energy emanating from Ranger Black and I'm also detecting…" Dr. K stopped for a moment in making sure of what she was reading was right, "I'm also detecting the chemical compound of water in his body, but it is different from water that we know.
"He's been poisoned." Kevin exclaimed as he stood up and walked over, "His body has taken in Sanzu River water from the Netherworld and it's poisoning him throughout his body.
"The Sanzu River is a myth, it doesn't exist." Dr. K pointed out.
"Oh believe me, it does." Mike pointed out as he also walked up.
"Wow how can we get it out of him?" Ziggy asked. All the Samurai turned to Kevin in hopes he had an answer to the question.
"I have no idea. We never encountered anything like this before. The water from the Sanzu River is extremely dangerous, corrupting and destroying anything it touches or gets on. Like I've said, we've never encountered a situation where the water has been physically taken in by anyone. They all looked down at Dillon's non moving form, there were dark red lines resembling lightning rapidly spreading across his face and hands and the color of his skin was taken a reddish color. No one said anything, the only things heard was the sounds of the oxygen mask and heart monitor.
So this ending was a little rushed at the end, but that's because I wasn't really sure on how to end this chapter. So tell me of what you guys think? Hopefully I'll have the new update up soon.
