"Tell me again, why do we have to hold hands?"

"Because, Sakura, we have got to a make people believe that we are indeed, exclusive." Sasuke said in a no-bullshit tone. He would've thought that the pink-haired demoness would've caught up by now; sadly she was slow and incapable of catching up quick enough.

"Rigghhhttt…" Sakura dragged her words, emphasizing something that Sasuke had no intention analysing. "But really Sasuke, you have got to let that death grip soften a little. Or my mom's going to have your head," Sakura said as she chuckled a little.

Sasuke immediately lessened the grip he had on her hand, but it was still enough to still hold her hand in his. And if Sakura craned her neck a little she would see the red peeking out of the neckline of his shirt.

"TEME! SAKURA-CHAN! WHY DON'T YOU GIVE EACH OTHER A LITTLE KISS ON THE LIPS?" Naruto screamed at the top of his lungs, while simultaneously making kissy-faces to irritate them. This earned the amused yet weary gazes of the onlookers in the hallway they were all in.

A direct hit to the back of his head effectively made Naruto stop making the kissy-faces he was directing to the two of his proclaimed best friends and siblings. Ino smirked a triumphant smirk and started to lecture (straight up screw him up) Naruto, giving him an earful about how they "just started out" and "needed sometime before doing those kinds of things in public".

"But Ino…" He made a pouting face at her, with big, blue, watery eyes to make the people around him sympathize and pity him, and as much as Sakura or Ino didn't want to admit it, it was usually really effective, but today was not one of those days. "They made out in front of the WHOLE STUDENT BODY! I mean, if they can do that once, what's to say to another time?" He grinned innocently although his intentions were not.

This time, his face was left with two red, hand shaped imprints on either side of his cheek.

"That's for… public harassment?" Sakura looked to Sasuke for a conformation, but he just shrugged and took her hand in his and walked down the hallway to their lockers to grab their books and get on with their classes for the day.

They grabbed their things from their lockers, which were conveniently placed right next to each other, as was Naruto's. Thankfully Karin's locker, where said person was also standing at with her group of lackeys, was on the opposite row of lockers and a ways down the hall. She shot daggers at Sakura and kept doing so until Sasuke turned to face her and shot a murderous glare at her. She immediately stopped and sashayed towards their direction.

Sasuke's grip on Sakura's hand, which he had taken right after getting all their stuff, was a crushing pressure, capable of squeezing her hand so much, it started to creak loudly. Oddly enough, Sakura took great amount of comfort in this, knowing that he was really willing to keep her safe if Karin even remotely thought she could harm her. Although she took great pleasure at the notion, she was still capable of taking care of herself if the need arose.

The vice grip on her hand did nothing but get tighter as Karin got closer to them, and Sakura knew that it would not lessen until the red-haired maniac was out of their line of sight.

"Sasuke-kun," Karin purred with a sickly sweet tone, like a snakes tongue covered in delicious honey, "How's your day going along?" She asked in the same tone, even going as far as to hood her eyes a slight bit in hopes to make her look sultry, which made both Sasuke and Sakura want to gag while simultaneously gouge their eyes out.

"It would've been better, sadly you're here." Sasuke said in a cold tone, capable of making even the coldest climates feel like a hot desert's day in comparison. Everyone within the vicinity felt the cold chill run down their spine, and as hard as Karin tried to surpass it, she shivered ever so slightly, but that didn't escape his all-knowing eyes.

And although she knew she wasn't wanted, Karin gave a dainty laugh and covered her mouth with her hand, "Oh, Sasuke-kun! Ever the teaser, aren't you?" She gave him a 1000-watt smile in hopes to keep up the farce. "I hope Sakura," She spit, "isn't causing you much trouble. Why don't we go to class together? It would be fun to spend some time with each other."

Sasuke's eyes narrowed a fraction and directed the glare to Karin, "Quite the contrary," he said, "in all honesty, Sasuke's eyes narrowed a fraction and directed the glare to Karin, "Quite the contrary," he said, "in all honesty, you are the one who's causing me trouble, because I would instead prefer to spend time with my girlfriend who quite coincidentally isn't you." Sasuke all but spat that in her face.

Karin stood there like a fish gasping for air, while Sasuke pulled on Sakura's hand and muttered a small "Let's go". Naruto found great delight at watching his distant and horrible cousin looking like she'd been doused with tar and chicken feathers and started laughing and pointing his fingers at her. This did nothing but fuel Karin's anger and her need for revenge towards a certain pink-haired someone.

'She's going to pay. Big time,' were the only thoughts that ran through her mind as she stalked down the halls in her 5 inch stilettoes.

"Oh my God," Sakura said as she gasped for air, "Did you see her Godforsaken face? She looked like- oh my God I don't know what she looked like but her face was priceless." Sakura said as she guffawed and clutched her stomach and gasped for air. "'Revenge is best served cold' as they always say and if you weren't cold to her just now I wouldn't know cold at all."

"Hn," Sasuke grunted. "Sakura, you might want to stop laughing and watch where you're going because I can't keep steering you around people. Or I could just let you walk into a wall on purpose," he said monotonously.

"You wouldn't," Sakura stopped laughing immediately and looked at him with a scandalized look.

"I could and I would," He told her as he smirked at her. The thought of having her bump into a wall may have been a funny one, and although he could be an asshole when the situations called for it, what Sakura said was right. He would've kept steering her clear from any harm or dangers no matter what because the thought of her getting hurt at all was enough to make his blood run cold, especially right under his nose.

Sakura let go of his hand and stomped and grumbled away from him, to their seats on their current classroom. Sasuke smirked with mirth and then set their things down at their table. Sakura continued to grumble and even went as far to turn her seat away from him and stare out of the window that was conveniently placed to her left. She always managed to grab a seat right next to a window that was also close enough to any teacher and yet far away enough that whatever she'd be doing other than listening to the teacher wouldn't be able to be detected. And he silently praises her ways of strategically finding spots like these, because he honestly has no intention at all to listen to boring lectures by people who could barely understand what they taught.

They sat next to each other often and most of the time they'd sit with Naruto too whenever they had class together. The times they didn't sit next to each other were rare and scarce as the three of them were practically joined by the hip by the looks of it and Sakura would be the poor soul in the middle as when she didn't sit next to Sasuke, she would be next to Naruto because someone up there thought it be appropriate that she'd have classes with either one of them or both of them no matter the time or day. Unless she had some other class that she picked up as an extra subject, it was during these instances that she was actually alone. And although she wouldn't admit it aloud, she actually found these classes boring as she didn't have a certain blond next to her making exaggerated exclamations at everything and anything and a certain raven-haired duck butt head next to her making snide comments on everything he found unsatisfactory.

"Stop sulking, Sakura. It's unbecoming of you," her name rolled off his tongue like a unique delicacy. Sakura thought that she didn't mind Sasuke saying her name like that and even liked the way he said it. 'Woah, no, stop right there Sakura. What has gotten into you?'

"I'm not, I'm just angry at you," she said with a pout. "And it's not 'unbecoming', it's just me being me, thank you very much," Sakura ended her sentence by turning around and blowing a raspberry at him.

At this, Sasuke adopted a predatory gaze and said, "Sakura, you better keep your tongue to yourself or else I'll do something about it."

"And watcha gonna do, huh?" Sakura said without listening to his advice and proceeded to make the most childish face she could think of towards him.

At this his gaze darkened and said, "Well, why don't we find out?" He said as he leaned into her.

Sakura froze in her spot and all thoughts came into an immediate halt, save for one 'What is he going to do?' This was the sole thought that ran through her mind as he continued to get closer and closer, invading her personal bubble.

So caught up in the heat of the moment, neither noticed that the whole classroom dropped everything to watch the two supposed lovers' interaction. The tension in the air was so thick that everyone within the immediate classroom could use a sword to cut through it.

A hair breadth away from each other, a cough resonated through the classroom, breaking the hypnotic trance between the two. Immediately everyone turned towards the source of the cough and gapped at their ever late homeroom teacher, Hatake Kakashi.

Hatake Kakashi was an enigma. He was a mysterious teacher who not only dressed funnily (wearing a scarf over half of his facial features), but also did things the same way. He was a swift executioner that didn't dwell on anything too long and also didn't have ties with anyone, save for one pink-haired girl who happened to be his beloved niece.

Oh shit. Now this was the only thought that ran through everyone's minds, be it Uchiha or Haruno.

A deadly aura grabbed at everyone in the classroom, all of it emanated by the supposedly laid back and lazy homeroom teacher who read porn books in broad daylight and had the worst slouch and posture that anyone could have. Oh yes, the one and only teacher whose perverseness could only be rivalled by only one other and who couldn't care less about any of his students save for his dearest niece was a millimetre away from killing the second Uchiha heir (the first being Itachi, Sasuke's older brother).

"Ahh… What a nice day to be giving out detentions," 'Uh oh…' Sakura said as she stole a glance at Sasuke. "Uchiha, detention, 5 sessions with Mr. Morino. I suggest you get moving now unless you want it doubled. I don't mind writing a few more slips," he said a cold smile that made everyone's blood run cold.

"Hn," Sasuke grunted as he packed his stuff. "I'll see you at lunch Sakura," he whispered to her in hopes that their homeroom teacher and currently overprotective mamma bear couldn't hear him. Thankfully he didn't.

Sakura nodded her head and watched his retreating back with a look of guilt and remorse.

"Now that that's been dealt with, how about we rearrange seats? We've all been sitting here for such a long time already, it's about time for some change; spice things up a bit." Kakashi said with a smile behind his scar. The only evidence of this smile was his crow's feet at the corner of his eyes and the way his eyes squinted when he smiled.

Nobody dared to disobey their homeroom teacher's request and started shifting around for new seats, everyone except Sakura who stayed firmly planted in her seat. She honestly didn't want this change of seating neither did she wish to sit with anyone other than Sasuke or Naruto. Call her immature, but she rather sit with them than anyone else in the classroom because she didn't really know anyone here. Sadly, only she and Sasuke were present and had the same homeroom together, and Naruto had another one entirely. Screwed didn't begin to cover what she was right then and there.

"Oh this won't do," Kakashi piqued, "Sakura's all alone," he said with an air of fake concern. "I know, you there, in the far corner. Yes you, get over there and sit next to her."

Said person grabbed his things with haste and zoomed into the seat next to Sakura, not really wanting the wrath of the aloof teacher to be bestowed onto him. But the only thing Sakura could care more about now was how she was going to get Sasuke out of trouble.

And how she was going to get her uncle/homeroom teacher to talk to her after the class, because she was quite sure that they needed to have this talk.
