Chapter 11

When Laura and Lyn came back to the table Jean sighed with relief: ´"Thank God, I really thought you two were leaving me alone with this dynamic duo! Do you have the slightest idea what I have been through?"

Robbie and James both looked sheepishly at Laura and Lyn as they didn´t know what Jean was talking about. Laura laughed and answered: "Sorry, but this was necessary and no, we will not tell you guys!"

Both women took their seats again and after some more teasing and another drink they decided to eat at "the Trout" too.

In the end they arrived home really late that evening after spending some really enjoyable hours in the last summer breezes at "the Trout".

Lyn had taken Laura´s advice and was more open to James and to her amazement they got on well and she enjoyed the evening very much.

As it was already 12 am when they arrived at Laura´s house.

"I hope you don't mind but I think I am going directly to bed now. I´m really tired and I guess the last glass of wine was too much. And I have to catch the train at 12 pm to go home. I can´t thank you both enough for the great time I had here but I´m missing my two men."

Robbie took her in his arms: "Sure, pet. That is totally understandable as much as I love to have you here. Have a good night and we will take you to the station after a good breakfast tomorrow, okay?"

"Sounds like a plan, Dad. Good night. To you too Laura. I am so happy Dad has you now."

"Thanks Lyn and sleep well. See you in the morning." Laura answered with a smile.

"Good night, pet!" Robbie gave her one last hug before they retreated to their rooms.

At 6.30 am the next morning Laura´s mobile was ringing. It was just a text message. She looked at it smiled and cuddled nearer to Robbie. "What is it, love? Not a call out." Robbie mumbled sleepily into her hair.

"No, not important. We can still sleep for an hour or two." Laura answered cuddling closer and they both were asleep again in a few minutes.

They got up at 9 am in the end and by 9.30 am they met Lyn in the kitchen for breakfast. Laura started a fry-up much to Robbie´s delight. Seeing the amounts of food she did Lyn looked skeptical: "Laura, I know Dad can eat a lot but this looks far too much for the three of us."

"Who says it´s just the three of us." Laura answered with a knowing smile.

And to make it perfectly timed the doorbell rang in exactly that moment. When Robbie wanted to go and open the door Laura stopped him: "Robbie could you just give me a hand here. Lyn could you open the door please?"

Robbie looked confused but came over to her while Lyn went to open the door.

Before Robbie could ask what this all was about he heard a joyful young voice calling for Mummy and Lyn made a happy shriek seeing her son and partner standing before the door.

Hearing his grandson Robbie looked again totally confused at Laura.

"I hope you don´t mind, I invited Tim and Sam over to collect Lyn and stay until tomorrow so you can have some more time with Lyn and also with her family." Laura said not quite sure if it had been a really good idea seeing Robbie´s face but then a grin spread over it and he took her in a bear hug.

"Thanks, love! You are just brilliant, just one reason why I love you!" Robbie managed to answer before a little whirlwind came into the kitchen wanting his grandpa.

Lyn and Tim followed after a little while and Lyn introduced her family to Laura.

Sam took a look at her from his grandpa´s arm: "Are you Grandpa´s friend?" he asked cautiously.

Laura gave him a bright smile: "Yes, I am and I am delighted to meet you, Sam!"

Robbie came over and took her in his other arm. "You will like her Sammy, she makes really yummy breakfast."

"I am really hungry," the little boy answered with a mischievous grin wiggling from his Grandpa´s arm taking Laura´s hand and making a beeline for the table to sit down.

Tim shook his head: "See three days without his Mummy and he forgot all his manners. Hi Laura, nice to meet you in person now after talking yesterday and sorry for this naughty little beggar." Tim went over to his son and shook hands with Laura.

"No need to worry Tim, and likewise, nice to meet you." Laura answered while now Lyn came over too and hugged her.

"Thank you so much. That was the best surprise ever. And seeing that most of the Lewis family is here now: Welcome to this family, Laura! We are all happy to have you, aren´t we Dad?"

Seeing the tears in Laura´s eyes Robbie came over and gave her a kiss before saying: "You are totally right, pet! But before it gets to sentimental now and before it gets burned how about breakfast, everyone?"

A/N: Okay here we go the next chapter. I am not quite sure if I will go on (I think this can be a good and to this story) or not seeing that I have some other ideas and I am not sure if I can fit them in here or if I better start a new story so I will leave it open for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this at all and for all your reviews, pms and encouragement so far.
