Okaaay. Thanks to skycarstairs for everything (BTW I like your pen name, CARSTAIRS UNITE xD) and to everyone else who fav/followed/reviewed. Sorry, I'm lazy. But really, thanks so much. And because there weren't really very many requests (or any at all), I have decided to go all—out weirdness. Another crackship, another crackfic. Hope you like.

CLAREC (Clary x Alec)

Set in: City of Bones (I think), when Alec is confronting Clary about Jace—and a way it might have gone differently

*No spoilers*

"Because he left me behind!" Alec half—shouted. "Normally I'd be with him, covering him, watching his back, keeping him safe. But you—you're dead weight, a mundane."

Clary stared hard at him, and she saw something in his eyes that belied his words—a sort of reluctance. "You don't really mean that."

Alec hesitated, his eyes looking everywhere but at her, and he swallowed hard. "Yes, I do," he finally said, though his voice wavered.

"You don't," Clary said, with certainty this time.

Alec finally brought his eyes up to meet hers. His eyes were a deep blue, so deep Clary was beginning to get lost in them when something in them hardened and he was kissing her.

At first Clary didn't know how to react, but Alec's lips were insistent as they pressed into hers. Then she was reacting, and her hand was going into his hair, holding him to her.

Alec released her, breathing hard. "I—I shouldn't have done that."

Clary didn't know where it came from, but she found herself saying, "I liked it."

Alec rolled his eyes, but when he spoke there was none of the sharpness from earlier in it. "Of course you would. You little mundane."

"You don't hate me, do you?" Clary asked suddenly, because she still wasn't quite sure for some reason.

"I just kissed you, Clary Fray. I like you, you know. You managed to kill that Ravener demon, and you didn't even know what the hell was going on. You're smart and brave and…well." Alec shifted awkwardly. "I like you."

Clary smiled. "Then it's a good thing I like you back, isn't it?"

Alec looked taken aback. "You do?"

Clary nodded. "You're serious and loyal, and you love your siblings. I know you were just worried about Jace. It's alright. I don't have any siblings, but I think I'd be just as protective of them if I had any and they were all younger than me."

Alec smiled—a smile that lit up his face and made him look even more beautiful. "Well then, Clary Fray. Whatever are we going to do about the fact that we apparently like each other?"

In response, Clary leaned forward and kissed him.
