Familiar Fairy

Chapter Eleven: Trials

"Last time on Familiar Fairy. I finally had time to evaluate on some of the members of the guild and while doing so, I have noticed some members were far older than the others. Upon my arrival at the guild, Natsu and Gray had a fight and somehow I was dragged into it. Being mad at them, I cast my explosion spell on them which led to a chain which led to another in guild brawl. Shortly after that, Wendy accompanied me and told me something rather surprising. She along with Natsu and the rebel are dragon slayers and they themselves were raised by dragons. If that wasn't enough, Wendy tells me the story about what the guild went through recently."

The train came to a stop at the train station. It was a good thing too as I need to process the information Wendy told me during the ride. I went ahead of her but I walked slowly. Soon I was out of the train and just wandered off in a random direction. "Hey Louise! Do you where the theater is?!"

"Hush child. Perhaps its best we leave her alone for now. She just heard a lot of information about what the guild went through." Carla was right. I need to go somewhere to collect my thoughts on what I heard. I didn't bother look back or look what was in front of me. All I could think about was the guild and what enduring trials they had to face.

I journeyed a good distance within the city and sat down on the first bench I saw. I leaned back and stared at the sky with dreary eyes. I put my arm over my eyes while still processing what Wendy told me back on the train. "Quite the tale that young girl told us. To think that the guild you're in was in some tough situations before we came along."

I removed my arm from my eyes. "Situations? More like impossible odds." Just who or what is this guild? I sighed as I start thinking back from what Wendy told me about what Fairy Tail went through. Tenrou Island, Zeref, Hades, Acnologia, the infinity clock, Zentopia, the Legion Platoon, the Neo Oracion Seis, Sabertooth, the Grand Magic Games, how dragon slayer magic came to be, the Garou knights, and a plot that concerns the entire future while fighting dragons from four hundred years ago?! That last part proved a bit much for me. I sighed. I couldn't believe this guild was in the center of all of these events and this was before I showed up in this world. I can only imagine what kind of struggles Natsu and the others had to face. Any wizard I knew in my world wouldn't stand a chance in those events. Hearing what they did only broadened my view on this world. This world far exceeds my own in terms of magic, how they live, and now what kind of enemies they have to fight. In terms of my nobility, I've never felt so insignificant. How can I measure up in this world?

"Oi partner." I looked behind to see my talking sword. "Don't try to compare yourself to the others for now. They've been at this longer then you have. You're just getting started. I'm sure in no time; you'll stack up well with the rest of them." I guess Derflinger is right. They've doing this sort of thing for a long time so it was only natural they would be this strong. Wendy might be younger than me but she's seen much more then I could ever have. I started to look back when I first arrived. I couldn't cast a spell without my wand and now I can with ease. The explosion spell I've grown to loathe has helped me out and has evolved to a level I never knew. The runes on my hand give me extraordinary power. Though I barely notice it, I could feel my magic grow stronger every day.

Now the feeling I had before was going away and replacing it was new one. One filled of energy and confidence. I may have just started but I'll quickly catch up. Who knows, maybe I'll achieve my goal in this world. I smiled and giggled as jumped off the bench. "Feeling better partner?"

Now I grinned. "Yes I'm feeling much better. It's like you said, I'm just starting out but I'll catch up with the rest of the guild in no time." I clenched my fist in front of me. If this is me just starting out, then I wonder how I'll turn out in the future. The very thought excited me. Now is the time to act. I still have a mission to do. All I need to do is go to the theater. That shouldn't be too hard. I held my head high and ran to the theater.

B

WHERE IS THE THEATER!? Ah! I knew I should've asked Wendy where the theater was in the first place before I had my little breakthrough. I was wandering around the town like a rat in a maze trying to find a piece of cheese. Well I guess its one step forward and two steps back. I looked around the town to see what would look like a theater. To my dismay, I had very little luck. While I was having my small dilemma problem, I failed to notice someone approaching me from behind. "Excuse me. Are you lost or something?" Once I heard the voice, I turned around to be greeted with a girl close to my age. The outfit she wore was a sleeveless dark blue top along with a pink fabric on top and her arms and a pale blue mini skirt. She had pink hair put up in pigtails.

Well if help came to me, might as well use it. "Well you can say something like that. I was looking for the theater and meet up with my acquaintance."

I saw her smile at me. "Well I guess love brought us together then." What does love have to do with this? "I know where the theater is. I'll take you there. Follow me." She started to walk ahead of me. That was fine except not a few steps in and she already tripped on something and fell to the ground. Already I was beginning to question her. After I helped her up, we began walking to the theater. Along the way, we began to make small talk. "I couldn't help but notice your guild mark on your hand. Are you new in Fairy Tail?"

I looked at my mark and nodded at her. "Yes I am. I joined not that long ago."

I heard her laugh. "That's fun. I know someone in that guild." Doesn't anyone? "I also saw that you have some weird markings on your other hand. What are they?"

I laughed nervously. "That's a bit longer and more difficult to explain." I'm still having trouble dealing with what I heard from Tifa. After some time walking, we came up to a large building. This does look like a theater and in front was a familiar young girl with a familiar talking cat.

I was about call out but the girl who helped called out first. "Wendy!" I saw her run up to her. Wait is Wendy the person she described before?

I ran to catch up. It seems Wendy heard her and smiled at the girl. "Oh Chelia!"

"It's quite the surprise to see you here." I guess they do know each other.

I saw the girl called Chelia hold Wendy's hands in front of her. "It's been quite a while. Not since the Grand Magic Games."

Wendy looked past Chelia's shoulder and saw me. "Oh Louise. There you are."

Now both girls looked at me. "I knew she was part of your guild as soon as I saw the guild mark. Oh yes I forgot introduce myself. My name is Chelia. I'm from the Lamia Scale guild." So this is the girl Wendy fought against in the Grand Magic Games. She told me her magic was Sky God Slayer magic. At first when I heard of god slayer magic, I was more bewildered about that then Wendy explaining dragon slayer magic to me. But then the dragon slayer magic impressed me yet again when I heard about its origins.

"Where did you go Louise?"

"Did you manage to think things through now?"

Before I could answer, Derflinger answered for me. "My partner managed to snap out of it."

Chelia gave a surprised yell. "Ah! Your sword just talked!"

"You've never seen a talking sword before?" Did I just tell a joke?

Chelia walked closer to my sword. "Wow I've never seen something like that before."

"It's nice to meet you as well young lady."

"So why are you in Onibus Chelia?" I was wondering about that as well.

Chelia giggled. "I just finished a mission near here and had some time left over. I saw your friend looking a bit lost and I helped her. I didn't expect to see you again Wendy." It seems the two of them are good friends. "So what are you two doing here?"

"We're here to help out Louise on a job." Leave it the cat to explain my job.

"Oh in that case I'll help out too." Wait she's helping now?

"Hold on. Are you sure? You're not even going to be paid." I was wondering if Chelia was right in the head.

"Don't worry about it. I have time and besides, love is all the reward I need this time." Well that kinda answers my question. Now that we're done with the greetings, we all headed inside the theater.

"Thank you very much for coming in my time of need." That is the fifth time he said thank you to us. What the owner told us was that he a bit of a disagreement with some of the actors and they quit a week before the performance. Luckily for Chelia, there was one more open spot. I'm just wondering what made the actors quit in the first place.

"So what are roles your former actors had to play before they left you?" The owner handed us the scripts. We read them over and already I didn't like my part. "Wait I have to play this?"

It seems Wendy and Chelia had different reactions then my own. "Oh wow I'm playing this part. What did you get you get Chelia?"

"A part worthy of love." What is it with her and love? I had a small thought in the back of my head but shook it off. There is no way something like that is going to happen a second time is there? "Louise, I hope you don't mind me borrowing your sword."

I was a bit hesitant as this is a real sword, not a prop sword. "It's alright partner. What harm can she do?"

I sighed. "All right but you better be careful with it." Or him. I'm still wondering which I should call Derflinger.

"I will." I handed her Derflinger and smiled at my sword. I do hope I didn't make the wrong choice.

I looked at my script. I was not at all happy with the part I was stuck with but I suppose I can't change it. "Well we have a week to practice these roles. I say let us start now!" Wendy, Chelia, and I cheered. I'm sure my knowledge of theatrics will prove worthy in this job.

"Thank you very much." That was the sixth time the owner thanked us.

B

A week goes by faster than I thought. When I looked over Chelia's and Wendy's roles, it became apparent that I wasn't suited for either part. Not only we had to practice our roles and lines, we also had to promote the play as well. We all took turns. Two of us would hand out in flyers in costumes, (and in not in the lewd variety.) while the other practiced her role. I must say this is the most fun I had on a job. I did give out some advice to Wendy and Chelia. Today it was my and Chelia's turn to hand out the flyers. People accepted them happily and talk about the play was going through the town. While handing out the flyers, a strong gust of wind hit the area and flyers from Chelia "Ah! Oh no!"

I saw them fly off in almost every direction. I gave what flyers I had left to her. "Keep giving them out. I'll gather what I can." I ran off to catch whatever flyer I can find. However if a person managed to grab one before me, I let him or her have it. While I was on my flyer hunt, I looked backed the past week about Wendy and Chelia. They certainly did like how close their roles are in the play. Perhaps a little too much but I'm sure I'm overthinking it. I saw a flyer go around a corner. I chased after and as I soon I reached the corner, I heard a voice.

"Oh lookie here." Before I could go around, I stopped and peeked behind the corner. I saw two women who didn't look like they belonged in a town like this. One of them is wearing a pale pink long coat with a ruffled green skirt underneath along with green boots and a rather large hat over her long pink hair. The other woman had long black hair tied in pigtails with a loop with each tail and wore some sort of sleeveless black robe with a red cloth wrapped around her mid-section accompanied by plain sandals. "I was right. She is here. It's been too long since I've seen her." Who was she talking about? I know it's not me since I've never seen them before so it has to be either Chelia or Wendy.

The other woman sighed. "Why did you drag me into this? I find your love for this girl to be a bit odd."

Her friend gave a sly laugh. "You should know that love knows no gender nor age. I only wish to see her again after such long time and if she is playing this role, I must see it for myself."

"You do know the role this other girl is playing right?"

"Even so, if that girl does something I don't like, I will simply…dispose of her." That was enough for me to get away from these two. I was sure they will appear for the play later on. I suddenly had a bad feeling. I hurried as fast as can to Chelia. I don't think she'll believe what I'll say to her but it was worth a shot.

As soon as I reached her, I Wendy with her and surprising enough, Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Erza who seems to be doing vocal exercises, the cat, and some other people I don't recognize. One of them I assumed is related to Chelia as she looks like an older version of her. Sister maybe? There was also a man with white hair, a man with eyebrows of a size I never seen before, and a dog person?

Natsu turned to look at me. "Oh there you are Louise."

It seems that my explanation to Chelia will have to wait. "What are you all doing here?"

"Isn't it obvious? We're going to see the play." Your timing couldn't be worse could it?

"And where here for my cousin." Oh ok so she's Chelia's cousin.

Wait hold on here. "Who are you three?"

Chelia smiled as she giggled. "Oh yes. These people are also from Lamia Scale. This is my cousin Sherry."

"Lovely to meet you." Just like Chelia, she uses the world love as well.

"This is Yuka."

"Hello there." How does someone have eyebrows of that size?

"That's Tobi."

"I don't need you to introduce me!" What's his problem?

"And this is Lyon."

"It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." Well at least one of them is a bit normal.

"Likewise." It seems Fairy Tail isn't the only guild with interesting people.

"We're looking forward to your play. Ah seeing this brings back such fond memories to me." I never knew Erza was fan of the theatrics. Everyone else seems excited about the play as well. What I don't understand is why they acted the way they did when I read the description. Oh well.

I look a town clock and grab both Chelia and Wendy by their shoulders. "Come on you two. I think we handed enough flyers. We need to use the last hours to prepare." I let them go and I started to head to the theater.

"It seems Louise is enjoying this rater well." I can still hear them.

"Yeah she helped out a lot while we were practicing." As I expected to hear.

"I also learned that Louise is from different world." And I predict Chelia's guild mates will be surprised in three, two, one…

"What!?" I saw that reaction coming.
