The Block Estate

4:00pm

The few weeks that passed since Claire's birthday party seemed to go by fast for Massie, actually, life in general seemed to be going by fast. She couldn't believe she was already twenty five weeks along. The first part of her pregnancy seemed to go by at snail speed, probably because during that time she was still hiding it from everyone, but after she'd gotten into her second trimester time flew by, in a few weeks she'd be in her third trimester, and after that the baby could come at any time.

Earlier today she'd had her maternity pictures taken, along with Landon. She thought they were absolutely adorable and she couldn't wait to put some of them in the nursery, both the one at the Block Estate and the one at Landon's house. she and her mom were going to decorate the nursery together. The dark wooden crib was put together today, above it there were big letters nailed to the wall that spelled out Zander's name, and the changing table was there too, along with a lounge chair in the corner of the room, and there was a small bookcase that matched the crib where baby books would go. Near the door there was a tall dresser that would soon be full of clothes. There was still a ton of other stuff to be added though. She'd bought a bunch of picture frames, for all of the pictures she planned on hanging around the room. There were going to be some from the photo shoot she had today, and there were going to be some of Zander after he's born. On the wall across from his crib she was going to put up a big one of Her, Landon, and Zander. She'd saved all of her ultrasound pictures, which she planed on putting in her baby scrapbook that she'd bought recently, and she was going to frame the more recent ones and have them in the nursery.

"We need to make a checklist of stuff we need," Kendra said while examining the room, "Like a carseat, you don't have one of those, do you?"

Massie shook her head, "Nope, and I still need to get a stroller."

"And a light blue rug would look good in here, it would match the walls."

Massie had lived in this house for as long as she could remember and this room had always been next to hers, but she'd never paid attention to it, it had just been an extra bedroom, now it was Zander's room and she couldn't imagine it not being his room, even though he wasn't born yet. She placed her hands on her baby bump and looked around the room, imagining what it would be like once he actually was born and in there. The more pregnant she got, the more maternal she felt, which was a somewhat weird feeling for her. Before getting pregnant she hadn't really thought about whether or not she'd even wanted kids, now most of her thoughts consisted of Zander and wondering how she'd be a good mother to him. With her family's help and Landon's family's help, the financial part wasn't a problem at all since both their families were rich, but it was the other things that worried her.

"I think you'll be a good mom," Kendra told her, as if reading her mind.

"Really? Why do you think so?"

"When I was your age I was just like you, and I was really self-centered too, so when I got pregnant with you I was so worried about not being a good enough mom, but when you were born, even though it was hard, I did better than I thought. And I think you'll do good."

"Thanks, I've been really worried about that, and school too. I'm dreading going back to school, it's going to be so hard to balance everything."

"I know, it's gonna be hard, but if anyone can figure out how to deal with it, you can." her mother's faith in her did make her feel a bit better, all she could do was hope that Kendra was right.

Westchester Hospital

4:45pm

Massie and Landon waited in the room for their doctor to get there, while waiting Massie was lifting up her shirt, looking at her stomach.

"Look at how big this is," she said to Landon.

"It has gotten bigger," he commented.

"You're not supposed to agree with me!"

"Oh sorry," he said, "I was only kidding, I can't even tell you're pregnant." Then they both started laughing. Luckily, Massie wasn't big anywhere else, she was naturally thin so the rest of her body wasn't much bigger than it was before. But now she was at the stage where everyone wanted to feel on her stomach.

"I know right, I don't look pregnant at all, do I?"

"Nope, look at how flat that stomach is," Landon said sarcastically and then he placed his hand on it, which caused Zander to kick.

"It's like he knows when you touch it, he doesn't really kick for anyone else."

"So that means either he really does like me or really doesn't like me."

"We've been over this already, Zander obviously likes you."

"Do you kick people you like?"

"Well, no," Massie laughed, "but, it doesn't matter, this is his way of showing that he loves you."

Their doctor then came in and asked Massie how she was feeling and all of the usual stuff to make sure everything was going normal. Massie was weighed and then, to her dismay, she had to get blood drawn. The only exciting part of the appointment was the sonogram, she and Landon liked seeing Zander. As soon as he came into view on the screen it made Massie smile, seeing him made her happy. He was curled up and sucking his thumb. Doctor Harrington told them things about the baby and what was going on in there. This week he was getting more baby fat and he was growing more hair. From looking at the sonogram, Massie thought he looked like a small regular newborn baby, even more of a reminder that in a few short months he'd be here. She was excited about being able to finally meet him, and what it would be like to hold him for the first time, but part of her wanted to keep him in her as long as possible.

The Crane's House

5:10pm

Since Landon's grandparents had decided to come visit, Massie had finally gotten used to them. They extended their visit because they wanted to be here when Zander, their first great grandchild, would be born, so whenever Massie was at Landon's house she saw them a lot and talked to them a lot. She'd always liked Landon's family before, but now that she was pregnant, they were starting to feel like her extended family. It was even weirder to think about the fact that one day, either sooner or later, they'd be her in-laws.

Right now she was decorating the nursery with Landon and his mom, she liked that Zander would have two nurseries. Not only did she like decorating both of them, but it was a reminder that her son would have both sides of his family in his life. That usually wouldn't seem like a big deal, but a lot of babies from teen pregnancies ended up only being raised by a single mom, and Massie knew she'd gotten lucky with her situation. Landon and his family were so supportive of her and she was really grateful.

"So what do you plan on doing once the baby is born?" Celia asked as she and Landon were putting together the crib and Massie sat in the wooden rocking chair, holding a stuffed toy Lion. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, how are you two going to manage time once he's here. It would be best if he could be around both of you, but you two don't live together, so it's not going to be easy, especially when you start having school."

This was the one issue that neither Massie or Landon had a very good solution for.

"After he's born I just planned on going to Massie's house everyday to see him, and then sometimes we can all be here."

"That sounds okay in theory, but once he's here everything isn't going to be exactly like you plan." Celia made a good point.

"Well I don't know," Massie said, thinking about all of the details stressed her. Landon just shrugged and continued putting together the crib.

"You have three more months to think about this stuff, and I hope you both will have a more solid plan before the three months is up, because after that everything will change."

Massie knew Celia was right, and it kind of scared her. Whenever she thought about Zander being here, she preferred not to think about all of the complicated details, just the good things. Like him being cute, getting to hold him, buying things for him, and getting to love him. But she knew that wasn't all there was to it, she was absolutely nawt looking forward to the sleepless nights that she knew would come, dirty diapers that she was dreading, and having to balance raising him with keeping up with school.

"Another thing," Celia added, "You should spend more time together now."

"I think we spend a good amount of time together," Landon said.

"Make sure you do that, these last few months will go by fast, and once Zander is here, you're life will most likely revolve around him. But you should try to make your relationship a top priority too and try to keep it alive, babies have a way of changing them."

Massie and Landon exchanged a quick glance and then both looked at the ground trying not to grin, they were both thinking the same thing. When Celia said to keep their relationship alive, their minds went straight to sex.

"That's not what I meant when I said that," Celia said, feeling uncomfortable at the thought of her son having sex. She knew he'd done it, considering the situation, but she would've rather pretended it didn't happen. "But since we're on this awkward subject now, after you have this baby, you two better be being more careful, I'm looking forward to be having a grandson, but I don't need anymore for a while."

Massie definitely planned on being more careful after this, she couldn't imagine having two babies and being a teenager, she could barely believe in a few months she'd have one.

"What about a granddaughter?" Landon asked jokingly.

"Don't go there," she warned him, giving him a serious glare.

"He's kidding," Massie said, "We won't be having anymore babies for a very long time."

"Good. But I'll see you guys later, I have to go run some errands now, and while I'm gone you need to think seriously about your plans."

Once she was out Massie said, "She's right, we need a more thought out plan."

"I know," Landon agreed, "But it's not exactly easy."

"Yeah, this would be a lot better if we lived together."

After Massie said that, it was silent for a moment. They both wanted to be together and they knew it would be better if they lived together, but they'd never talked in depth about it.

"But we're both not eighteen yet."

"Wait a second," Massie thought, "What if we moved into my guest house? Then we could live together, but I wouldn't technically be moving out."

"I hadn't thought of that, but I don't know," Landon looked a bit unsettled, "Honestly, I'm not completely ready to leave home yet."

Massie had mixed feelings about that, part of her agreed with him about not wanting to leave home yet, she'd still be on her estate, but it wouldn't feel right to not be in the same house as her parents, or to be in her room anymore, or to be in a smaller space. But she noticed Landon looked kind of uncomfortable after she mentioned them moving in together.

"Do you not want to live with me?"

"I want to, eventually, just not now. It would feel too sudden."

"In case you haven't noticed, our whole situation is sudden."

"I know that, but it just doesn't feel right yet."

"Well then when will it? I thought you wanted us to be a family together, but if not-"

"Now you're just being dramatic," he told her, "I didn't say I don't want us to be a family, I do, you know I love you and Zander, but I just don't want to make any rash decisions."

"I guess," Massie was somewhat annoyed, but she also knew he was kind of right.

"We should wait and see how it is after he's born and then if it seems like a good idea after a while, we can stay in the guest house. But it would be really inconvenient now, don't you think? You already have Zander's nursery almost done in the main house, and you have a housekeeper there."

She hadn't even thought of that at all. She loved the way Zander's room looked and it would be inconvenient to move now, and she knew once he was here she'd be even more grateful for having Inez in her house who cooked and cleaned for the Blocks. As if he understood what they were talking about, Zander started to kick.

"Well I guess we'll just have to see what happens."
