~Chapter 11 : My Silence, My Reason, My Love.
"Tetsuya. Let's go" Akashi said. Kuroko nodded, and proceeded to follow Akashi who had walked to the door. The maids and butlers bowed to them and the two of them started walking to school.
It was silent.
It was silent along the way. Not really minding their silence, Kuroko just took his book from his bag and started reading it. Not long after, he felt someone was touching his fingers. He looked up, and found Akashi in front of him.
"What is it, Akashi-kun?" Kuroko asked.
"Do not read while walking, Tetsuya. You might bump into something" Akashi said while holding Kuroko's hand.
"O...Okay. I'm sorry, Akashi-kun" Kuroko said while snatching his hand back from Akashi's. He hurriedly put the book back into his bag and both of them continued to walk again. Kuroko kept on rubbing his hand, surprised at the sudden new heat that he never felt before.
'What are you doing to me, Akashi-kun?'
Kuroko's POV
I always felt weird whenever Akashi-kun was near since that...confession at the practice match. Like...my cheeks would heat up or I cannot stop staring at Akashi-kun. Until now, I still convinced myself that those words Akashi-kun said to me were only my imagination. Or only said to me to make me freeze.
'But...didn't he ask for my reply?'
'Was that also my imagination?'
'In the first place, why would I imagine something like that?'
'Akashi-kun...'
Without noticing, again, I look at Akashi-kun's back. His back was straight, and his way of sitting is the way of how a king would have sat. He looks so elegant even when he was just looking at the whiteboard. Then, I noticed a movement from his lips. He was not voicing anything. Just moving his lips. I tried to understand what Akashi-kun's movement said.
'I...love...you?'
Okay. That one was undoubtly my imagination. Akashi-kun doesn't know that I'm looking at him since his back was facing me. I could already feel my cheeks heat up as I tried to concentrate on the whiteboard.
'But to no avail, my mind still wandered to the human called Akashi Seijuurou'
I tried as hard as I could to avoid Akashi-kun. I couldn't stand this heart that seemed like it will burst if I keep on staying near him. My escape was the library, rooftop, or the backyard. Any place that anyone rarely went to and was peaceful. And the place I chose for today was the library. I heard from the librarian that some new books would be arriving today, so I would get the chance to read a new book if I went to the library.
'Though I do feel guilty for leaving Akashi-kun'
"Excuse me" I said, then opened the library's door. The library was empty, as usual, but even the librarian was not there.
'Why isn't the librarian here?'
Well...I could see that the new books had already came, so I took one of it and sat at my usual place. The corner of the library near the window.
"So...You were reslly here" A familliar voice suddenly entered my ears. I looked up and found Akashi-kun staring at me. Akashi-kun took a seat across from me and he started to read.
"Why do you avoid me?" Akashi-kun asked, still reading his book. I closed the book I was reading and answered.
"I...I don't understand what you mean"
"These past few days, you have been avoiding me. Why?"
"W...Well...That was because...I have something else I have to do.."
"Lie. Really Tetsuya, do we really need to go through this again? You know you can't lie to me" Akashi-kun said. His face was inching closer. His eyes trapped mine. I couldn't stop staring into it. I forced myself to looked away, as my cheeks heat up because of our close distance.
"Look at me and answer my question, Tetsuya" Akashi-kun said again. He brought his fingers to my face and used it to tilt my head so I faced him. Again, I'm being trapped by his mismatched eyes.
"Th...that's because..." I tried to answer, but my voice was giving up on me. My cheeks heat up more, and I could say that my cheeks was now as red as Akashi-kun's blazing red hair. Once again, I tried to look away, but failed miserabely.
"Why is that, Tetsuya?" Akashi-kun asked again.
"B...Because" I stuttered. I calmed myself down, and took a deep breath. "Because, looking at Akashi-kun makes me feel painful"
"Describe this painful" He commanded.
"Eh?" I voiced out in instinct. I then started to think what the 'painful' in my words meant. "I...It's like that...My cheeks would heat up or my heart start to beat...faster." I explained to him. My vision already becoming blurry and it started stinging. I felt my tears welled up because of the embarassing feeling I felt. Akashi-kun stayed quiet for a few seconds, then licked my tears.
"A...Akashi-kun?" I said as he continued to lick my tears until there was no more.
"Tetsuya, I love you" Akashi-kun confessed. My cheeks heat up again, but this time, I couldn't even look away. He placed his hand at the back of my hair while sneaking an arm around my waist, then pulled me closer until my legs hit the table seprating us. Wincing a bit because of the sudden pain, I closed my eyes and felt something else.
I could feel something clashed with my lips, what I could only asses as Akashi-kun's lips. In that moment, I opened my eyes and found them staring at Akashi-kun's. I couldn't struggle though.
I don't want to struggle.
The feeling of knowing Akashi-kun's lips collided with mine brought a surge of hapiness. A tightening feeling that I couldn't explain with just words. I closed my eyes again and just savoured the moment while it lasts. Akashi-kun broke the kiss and touched my eyes, wiping the tears from it. Then, he kissed my eyelids and face me.
"Tears..." Akashi-kun muttered while caressing my tearstained cheeks. "Are you rejecting me?" He asked.
'No! I'm not rejecting you!'
"No...I'm not rejecting you, Akashi-kun" I replied. I tried to put my best smile as I spoke more.
"I'm happy. And I love you too, Akashi-kun."
