Rido Kuran found himself glaring furiously at the two guards who failed to keep an eye on Juri while he rested in his chambers. He had only done that due to being exhausted after the recent events of what had happened to their parents, although they did not really matter much to him personally. The only person he cared for out of his miserable family was Juri. Unfortunately, he knew very well that the only man in her mind was that despicable Haruka. Haruka had always been their mother's favorite son, on top of being Juri's mutual romantic interest. Knowing this, he had a feeling that Juri may have slipped out to go find him. The thought infuriated him even more as he finds himself staring down the two men before him.
"Remind me again how the hell could she have escaped?!" he growled out menacingly, clenching his fists as already murky orbs brighten with a crimson shade, causing the cowardly guards to flinch back some more. Both of them knew that even though it was two against one, they were in no way a match against the power of an angry pureblood vampire, let alone one who was born under the royal name of Kuran and especially not one of the two brothers, who showed extraordinary aptitude in their abilities.
"If there was no use to me in either of you, then I would be bathing in your blood at the moment. Fortunately for you, there is still a chance for the pair of you yet; the both of you will remain here to keep an eye out for her if she manages to return." the enraged vampire snarled out, before he quickly left his secluded mansion, looking around desperately for the love of his life. I will have to look for my Juri myself...
He will find his beloved Juri, even if he has to shed some blood in order to have her back in his grasp at last.
-x-
Haruka could be found gazing out the window towards the flower garden, left in his thoughts about the mysterious girl from his dream. He just...could not stop thinking about her. Ironically enough, he had forgotten about the twin named Juri having an existence in the world until she cleared her throat and snapped him back to reality. Though, he had begun to question whether the reality he is living in now is his true reality as he turns to look at her with a raised brow.
Juri smiles at him and murmurs softly, "Sorry. Did I make you lose your train of thoughts, Haruka?" She cocks her head to the side to try to present herself as the good, cute girlfriend that any guy could hope to have. Although, at the moment Haruka did not notice how she presented herself since he seemed to be off. Possibly even out of character.
The way she said his name was so unbelievable that it could actually be believable to certain people. Not Haruka though. He thought he would delighted. Hell, even ecstatic that his name rolled off her tongue...but that was not the case. He felt...well, he felt a bit nostalgic and miserable for some odd reason that even he cannot grasp. He just did not feel complete with her like he did with…
The girl from my dream… he thought to himself as he tried to figure out the complicated puzzle set before him in life, before coming to realization that he had failed to reply to Juri when she had just spoken to him. If he was his old self that he had previously thought he was, then he would have instantly replied to her with a happy smile or even one of his famous grins. Juri used to be the center of his entire world, but after meeting that other girl -that twin of Juri's from his dream- it seems that his reality had come crashing down and Juri was no longer the center. In fact, he did not know where she was in his world but he does know that she is here for the time being.
Juri gives him a questioning look etched onto her features, moving closer to him in worry when he had not spoken to her yet. She wondered if she had done anything wrong, but did not pester to ask as she only spoke out his name softly. "Haruka..?"
"Ah, I am sorry, Juri. Yeah, but it is nothing important...Anyways, did you want something..?" he grins at her, though he could not give her his most charming grin even if he wanted to. It is just by the fact that he did not feel...like it was right when being in the same room as her.
Juri smiled slyly at the male before her, sneakily sitting in his lap from his seat at the table. Haruka's eyes widened at her bold move as he ended up shifting uncomfortably. He did not, however, let her know by how uncomfortable she is making as he let her stay in his lap.
"Mmm...well, I wanted to do something with you, Haruka dear~" she purrs out into his ear gently, pressing herself against his body while laying her hand onto his chest.
He shivers at that while looking at her and trying to grin as charmingly as he can while trying not to make things more awkward than they already are. After all, the female in his lap is practically giving herself to him and he was not taking advantage like he would have long ago. No, he has changed more than he ever could have imagined. Or perhaps he has finally snapped out of dreamland and is back to his "original" self that he never would have thought to be real.
"Oh? What would you like to do with me..?" he replies in fake curiosity since he already has thoughts on what is going through her mind.
She giggles, moving closer to him even with knowing the fact that she is already as close to him as she can get. "Well, we could...do things like…" she cuts herself off in order to kiss him passionately, hoping that this message through his complicated mind since he -well so she thought- had always wanted her to kiss him this passionately. Or get a kiss from her in general and more later on. How wrong she was indeed.
His eyes widen in shock, before quickly pulling back as Juri looks at him in surprise by how quick he was to pull away from her. She was giving him what she had assumed he always wanted since he followed her around like a lovesick fool and here he was pulling away like she was some disgusting piece of trash. She felt so flustered by this while trying not to show the hurt she felt by that.
"I-Is there something wrong, Haruka?" She moves to cup his cheek softly, biting her lip as her chocolate brown eyes are wide while gazing at him. Unknowing to Juri that Haruka was internally trying to calm himself by the fact that he felt like he had done the most horrible thing in his entire life.
What is wrong with me? I always wanted this...but now...everything with her feels so wrong. He panicked in his head, before easing himself with flashes of thinking back to his recent dream of the lovely twin of Juri. He shakes his head before looking at Juri to face her worried look. "A-Ah, n-no…nothing's wrong, Juri. You just caught me off guard is all. I definitely did not expect that…"
Haruka grins sheepishly at the brown-haired girl still sitting in his lap, before trying to change the subject. "Uh, how about going to a restaurant? I know the perfect place."
He secretly hopes she will agree so that she will give him some alone time since he knows that she will plan to dress up for the occasion of their 'date'. He is already dressed nicely in his own uniform so there is no need for him to go change himself. The only one who needs to change is Juri because she is actually still in her gown from last night.
The said female's eyes had begun to light up at the thought of what he said as a wide smile grows across her young lips. "Like a date?!" Excitement could be heard by her burst of a girlish squeal.
He nods, mentally sighing in relief that she agreed by the sound of the excitement in her voice. At least she has agreed to it…
She smiles happily at him and throws her arms around his neck to quickly hug him. Haruka blushes faintly but manages to hug her back and smile lightly to show a bit of enthusiasm her way. Juri took that as a sign that he is just as excited by the thought of a date as she is and she kisses his cheek. "I'll go put on a dress for you, darling!"
As soon as that sentenced escaped her lips, Juri got out of his lap and ran up to stairs to go change.
Haruka watches her with his red wine-like eyes as she moves out of his lap at last and up the stairs, sighing out in relief once he made sure she had completely left the room. Brushing his hair back, he begins to get lost in his thoughts once more.
I thought...finally having Juri would make my life feel so complete...but I feel so… he thinks in his head, before whispering out very softly, "...empty…"
It was like he had lost something rather than having gained anything. He then goes back to his thoughts on the twin from his dreams. With her...he felt so, well, like he could be himself in peace. Having Juri here...makes me feel so out of character. Literally.
He touched his pocket inside his jacket where he placed the rose in, before clenching his hand where he felt it lay. I-I need to see her again...I need, no, I want more answers…
Hours before Juri and Haruka head to the restaurant…
Kasumi blushes softly at the sight of herself in the three-way mirror, mentally making note as to whether or not she looks good or not while one of the female workers from the restaurant gives a little squeal and clap at the sight of her from all angles.
"Oh! You look so cute, lady Kasumi!" The girl squeals softly with a wide smile yet envious look flickering in her gaze as she looks at the brown-haired female before her.
The thought of actually looking cute made Kasumi blush even more as she gazes in awe at herself, not even believing the sight the more she looks. Standing before her in the mirror was a strange chocolate brown-eyed girl who was pulling the same look she was. Her brown hair was tied back in a ponytail by a white bow. Sitting on top of her head laid a typical maid headband. She was currently wearing a stiff satin dress that goes down to her knees. It looked simple yet suited for the restaurants taste. Laying on the dress was a white maid apron with extended ruffles on the hems. Kasumi turned a bit to look more at her attire, noticing a decent sized pocket around her waist which will be helpful when carrying around her needed items. She then lifted up the dress a bit to admire plain white thigh high stockings that clung nicely to her. Letting of the dress, she then looked down at her feet to gaze upon her new black Mary Jane shoes that was bedazzled with rhinestones. Slowly looking back up to gaze at herself fully, she still could not believe the fact that the lovely looking girl in the mirror was her.
A knock on the door from the dressing room causes her to pause from admiring her look as she turns to see the other girl in the room opening the door. Sasuke then steps in after bowing to said girl, before having yet to look at her. He knew not what to expect as he turned to look.
"Lady Kasumi...I'm sorry to interrupt but it is time to-" he begins to speak, but is cut off by his own gaze meeting her as a blush then spreads across his cheeks at the sight. He was in absolute awe at the sight of Kasumi, not believing his own two eyes as he could feel his flustered cheeks beginning to darken in its own shade of crimson.
Kasumi blushes as well by his look, shyly looking off while trying to ignore the fact that they both are flustered. "Sasuke...t-time to what?"
He stares for a bit more, before shaking his head while his face was still stained crimson. He bows. "It is time for you to get to work, Lady Kasumi...The guests have filed in and others have begun to work the busy schedule of tonight…."
Kasumi blinked for a moment, before remembering that working at the restaurant was the reason for her dressing in her maid-like outfit in the first place. Still, she could not believe that she could look decent. Or even beautiful...like Juri… she thought to herself, before turning to him and nodding with a determined look.
"Alright...I will do my best on my first day at the job." She then smiles with a soft blush.
Sasuke is still flustered, however not as much as before, while he waves for her to follow him where she await her fate of taking care of the guests. Kasumi then follows while she gets bit nervous when they head down the hall together.
The blonde male looks back at her with a reassuring, charming smile of his. Kasumi smiles back as his smile lightens up the tension of her waiting to know her fate. He then leads her to a large door, slowly opening to reveal a bright light. Kasumi squints her eyes and tries to adjust, before looking in awe as this was her second time in the restaurant.
A woman comes by as the brown-haired girl looks at her, gasping in awe by her elegance. How the woman dressed in the same outfit as her walked gracefully and without fault as she moved to stand before the awestricken girl. Kasumi blinked, still in a daze, as a kind smile falls upon the woman's lips. She notices how her purple eyes glimmer softly with a hint of mystery about them. She cannot help but to watch as the black-haired female brushed some of her messy locks to her short hair back, before she reaches out to take Kasumi's hand in hers and says ever so softly in an angelic, motherly tone, "You must be Kasumi Kuran. I am pleased to make your acquaintance."
All Kasumi could do was nod, still in awe that someone much more perfect in her eyes would even speak to her. She would even dare to say that the black-haired woman before her was so much more perfect than her own twin sister. She then snaps out of her daze to blush in embarrassment while still feeling her hand on hers. "A-Ah, yes...pleased to make you acquaintance as well...um...what was your name..?"
The purple-eyed female laughed softly, smiling just right that would make anyone in the room fall to their knees in shame and feeling unworthy. Which was how Kasumi felt as her knees began to wobble and she almost fell if it weren't for the woman to catch her and hold her close with a motherly touch. She had, in fact, a motherly aura about her that even Juri's twin could not help but to envy her.
"Haha...I see that you must still be tired after you came here...My name is Misaki Hatake." Misaki smiled some more at the girl in her arms. Said girl blushes some more while staring up at her in awe.
"Y-Yes...b-but I'll feel better once I get to work...Hatake-chan…" The brown-eyed girl murmurs softly while looking at her. Her name means 'beautiful blossom field' when put together...she seems more like an infinite field of beautiful blossoms….
Misaki then helps Kasumi up and laughs. "Please! Call me, Misaki. Hatake-chan sounds too formal to me. I prefer my name, if you please."
Kasumi nods softly with a shy smile. "O-Okay, Misaki…"
Misaki's purple eyes flash with glee before she hands a notepad and some pens to Kasumi for her to use on the customers. "I would love chat some more with you, but it seems were are gonna get behind schedule if we do not pick up the pace. I would hate for Natsu to get mad if things do not go smoothly tonight like he had planned. Now, go take orders from the guests and then report back to me so that I can give them to the chefs. Got it?"
The brown-haired female nods while putting the extra pens away as Misaki pushes her out in the crowd of fresh customers who come to dine with family/dates. Sasuke watches Kasumi take off the begin her job as he knows she will be in good hands with Misaki keeping an eye on her, before he then goes to get his job done.
Meanwhile with Haruka and Juri…
Haruka looks out at the garden, wondering about where his true fate lies. The rose in his pocket must have came from the garden from what he had concluded. His dreams have given him the taste of what happened in reality, but now he wants more than just a taste. He wants to get back what was taken from him, or what he never intended to leave behind in the first place. It all changed when Juri came along-
"Haruka~!"
Speak of the devil...or well, female devil...never mind… he thought to himself, turning his head with wide eyes at the outfit Juri was wearing. He couldn't help but to faintly blush and look away to control his stupid urges that he still has left for the female before him. Damn...if only the other girl was wearing that...then maybe I wouldn't have to control myself…
Juri smiles flirtatiously at him, moving down the steps as she wears a crimson, semi-revealing dress. The dress itself clings to her body to show off the curves to prove she was no mere girl, while the top is cut a bit to reveal the top of her chest. She notices that he his looking away, hinting that he was trying to control himself. She smiles some more while moving to slyly wrap her arms around his waist, making sure that her body was pressing against his.
"Mmm...do you like, Haruka dear~?" she whispers softly while smirking up at him.
His red-wine eyes widen some more as the way she said his name sounded familiar yet distant to him. He then closes his eyes while getting a faint memory of Juri's twin and himself having a playful battle together. He then shakes his head and opens his eyes, before looking at Juri with a smile. "Why yes...I do. You look very lovely for the evening…"
Her smirk turns into a smile as her brown orbs light up happily as she hugs him. "I'm so glad you like it, darling."
"Of course, Juri dear."
He hugs her back, before shivering as he touches bare skin. Haruka then realises that the dress is not only revealing to the front, but the back as well. He could not help but to blush a bit more before he slowly lets go of her and snaps his fingers, allowing a secret portal doorway to appear in the living room. Brushing some of his brown locks back, he then proceeds to knock on the door as it slowly opens to reveal…
"Haruka-sama?" An all familiar voice questions as they open the door.
Haruka blinks before looking at the blonde male with blue eyes. "Sasuke...why do you sound so surprised…?"
Sasuke stares at him in shock, before looking at Juri from the corner of his eyes as he cannot believe how she looks so much alike with Kasumi. Then again...they would not be identical twins if they did not look alike…. He then remembers that Haruka was the reason for Kasumi getting upset, as he clenches his fists while not wanting to draw attention to himself as he slowly calms down. However, his eyes end up narrowing a bit towards both Kurans before him especially towards Haruka for the heartbreak he caused on poor Juri's twin.
"I-it is nothing...shall we take you to your table?" The blonde male grits his teeth faintly, not wanting to guide them in as it would only be a matter of time before Kasumi spots them both. Who knows what could happen once they all see each other. He could only hope for the best as he leads them both in while the door closes, but he has a feeling that that will not be the case.
The brown-haired male looks at the blonde before him questioningly, especially at the look, but then brushes it off as he thinks maybe Sasuke has had a bad day or something. That happens sometimes when it is a busy day…
Juri holds onto Haruka's arm as she looks in awe by the sight before her, she then turns her head to smile up at Haruka. Haruka smiles back before Sasuke stops at a table. He the gestures for them both to sit while handing them their menus.
"Thank you, Sasuke." The older Kuran smiles politely and all Sasuke could do was nod.
"Your waitress will be here soon to take your orders...feel free to browse while you wait." He then quickly turns to leave, hoping that Kasumi is not the waitress to that table. I do not know how she will be able to handle herself if she saw them both together…
Said female was busily trying to fill out orders while reporting back to the head waitress, Misaki Hatake. Kasumi did not realize how busy of a job it was to be a waitress as she went from table to table, politely taking orders and offering guests to try certain things on the menu. She learned from each trip how to approach her customers in a formal manner where they will open up and be kind to her. Or she may even get a few people who were a bit..overly kind.
The brown-haired girl shivered at the thought, wondering how guys like that live with themselves knowing they have their wives/dates with them. Then again...the wives/dates might also have their own tricks up their sleeves for they might be doing being their men's backs. Either way, she is just glad that she does not have to deal with their lives but her own.
She then brushes some of her lonely strands of brown locks away as they get in her face, her hair getting a bit messed up from all the running she had to do between reporting and taking orders. Who knew that this job would work a lot out of you… she thought to herself, stepping towards Misaki who had just returned from giving the orders to the chefs in the restaurant.
The black-haired female smile widely at Kasumi as said girl handed her the orders over from her recent group of customers. Misaki gladly took the paper from her, before she murmurs softly while looking at the name of the next guests to have their orders taken. "Hmm...looks like your next order will be taken from...Kuran. That's odd...isn't your last name Kuran..?"
Kasumi's brown orbs widen at the sound of that name, feeling a bit of dread as she prays that they may be some distant family members coming to dine down. She slowly nods at the motherly figure before her. "That is correct. Maybe some family members came down to dine?" The question was not intended towards the head waitress, but more of a question to herself as she still hopes that it is not who she deeply knows it is.
The head waitress nods and gives the young girl a warm smile. "Well, best of luck, Kasumi. I am sure you will be fine and things will go smoothly."
Kasumi feels a bit more at ease by the smile given towards her, but still feeling somewhat tense as she keeps her guard up for the worst that she has prepared for. She then begins to turn around and looks down at her pad to see a table number and the name Kuran boldly inscribed onto the top magically, almost forgetting that the pad itself could do that as she was distracted by the fact that she was assigned to the table.
Just my luck... she thought to herself, grumbling while not noticing that she was getting closer and closer to the table as she stares at the pad while making sure she does not run into things. Only when she was close enough had she realized that it was almost time for her to greet them as she then looks up, her brown eyes slowly looking at the table.
She sees that her twin's back is to her, but her eyes then lock up with the one, and only, Haruka Kuran. Her breath got caught in her throat as she is still in awe by his gaze, his red-wine eyes wide as they stare at each other. Kasumi stops in her tracks, not knowing what to do as she looks at him.
There was an urge to run and hide to cry like the frightened girl she was, but there was also the sense to stay and run to him. No matter how much Kasumi disliked what he had done and how he had broken her heart, something told her it was not him that caused her pain. Rather some dark force was behind her pain and that it would only get worse unless she was back with him safely. Still, she could not move to do anything was everything else around them moved on.
Haruka could not believe his eyes as he was looking at the girl from his dreams. It was almost like a dream come true and he was living it for real. He ignored Juri going on about how romantic it is and what a cute couple they make as he keeps his eyes on her twin. He felt a rush of hidden passion and more than what he had ever felt with Juri. It was as if everything was slowly, but surely, coming back to him as time itself felt like it was slowing to a halt.
Nothing could have ruined that moment. Or so they thought.
Cliffy…
It has been too long since I wrote any chapters to any of my stories, especially this one. I am really sorry for not writing anything. I wanted to, but I did not know whether I was still good so I did not go through with it. I hope that I am still good like I was…
I would like to thank those who are still reading and I hope to write more chapters so that you can continue to read. I would also like to thank my beta, Kurina-the-Imiko, for helping me out with this chapter.
Again, I am sorry for not updating like I should have and I hope you guys can forgive. If not, I understand completely.
