"This is ridiculous mom!" Sakura said
"I know sweet heart but West Fort needs to be assured that these shinobi are no threat to us." Her mother said gently
"But why can't Saki go instead of me! The Konoha shinobi hate me and I hate them!"
"Because the people of West Fort trust and love you more than anyone! You're a hero to them!" Her mother exclaimed
"Hai I know mother, but-"
"No buts Moriko! Please do this for me."
Sakura groaned "How long do we have to stay there?"
"A month maybe a little longer at most!" Sakura hung her head in disappointment
"Can I bring along some friends?"
"I don't know about that."
"What about Gin?!"
"Fine. You can ask him. No one else though."
"Thank you mom!" Sakura ran out the door to go get Gin. He lived just a few mansions over. Sakura knocked on the wooden doors and waited till Gin opened it…..shirtless. "Gin you won't believe what happened!" and so Sakura launched into the whole summary of what was going on
"If course I'll go with you! Let me just pack some things and I'll be right over." Sakura nodded and hugged him tight, and then she raced back to her house.
Her mother has already explained everything going on to the shinobi so Sakura just walked past them to pack her stuff. She took out a summoning scroll and transported several outfits, formal and casual into it as well as extra weapons and money. Then she set out her traveling outfit, a pair of grey and black joggers with a black workout crop top that had the letters PRINCESS in big bold white letters. Then she went back down stairs to meet Gin. He was standing there with his own summoning scroll and their usual camping tent summoning scroll on his back.
"Are you all packed?" her mother asked
"Yep." Gin said, the only people going were Sakura, Gin, Tsunade, Kakashi, Asuma, Guy, and Konoha thirteen. Everyone else was staying behind. "You all have tents, correct? The weather can get really harsh here."
"We sure do." Ino said giving him a flirty look, Sakura glared daggers at her
"Where's your tent Sakura?" Naruto asked
"I'm sharing with Gin, he has a multi-person tent." Sakura said firmly, feeling smug at Ino's angered look
"Good you guys are all set, you can set your things in the parlor until tomorrow after the celebration!"
"What is this celebration again?" Asuma asked
"The Annual Midwinter Fest. One of the biggest celebrations of the year, to recognize all the sacrifices we have made over the years and to let go for a night. It's a big deal around here. There's a dancing, eating, games, and some other stuff goes on too." Gin said
"Do w-w-we n-need d-d-dates for this?" Hinata stuttered
"Well it's customary but not mandatory." Sakura mother assured her
"Speaking of dates, what color is your dress Sakura, I would like to match." Gin said smirking
A blush sprinkled over Sakura's cheeks but she calmly told him Black. "Whew good, we're all set then. You don't mind if I stay here tonight do you madam?" Gin asked Sakura's mother
"Of course not Gin! When have I ever minded, you and Sakura used to have erratic sleepovers that would last for days when you were little!"
"Awww I remember that! You two were so cute, always running around the house and chasing each other." Saki, Sakura's sister, said coming down the stairs
"Hai, I remember." Sakura and Gin both said
"Ah well I'm sure everyone is tired so I'll let you guys get some sleep." Sakura's mother said
They all muttered their goodnights and went to their rooms upstairs, Gin followed Sakura. "GIN! Sweet heart, your room is the other way!" Sakura's mother chided
Gin chuckled "Hai how could I forget!" blushing a little he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and turned around. "Night everyone." He mumbled
There were a couple chuckles and then everyone went to their rooms to get a good night's rest.
