The Club: A MGLN Alternate Universe

Final

The wedding was going about as well as could be expected, basically. Vivio had lost a ring, tho thankfully Einhart helped her retrace her steps and find it. (Ring, cushion and all had ended up in the fridge when Vivio had gotten a drink.) Plus, there were the usual family tensions that always seemed to crop up at weddings...

"WHY is Chrono giving Fate the cold shoulder?" Momoko Takamachi asked, the brown haired woman whispering to Lindy Harloun. The mothers of the brides had kind of gravitated together, even as they helped get everything ready.

"Because his girlfriend Amy told him recently she had a roll in the hay with Fate when they were younger," Lindy sighed.

Momoko blinked at that. "Why would Amy tell him THAT?" she asked.

"I think she felt a bit neglected and wanted to remind him she had options," Lindy said. "Tho if Chrono doesn't smarten up soon I'm giving him a talking to."

"Good luck," Momoko said, patting her on the shoulder.

Linith Lanster smiled warmly as the silver haired young woman talked with Shirou Takamachi, Nanoha's father. "Thank you much for being willing to officiate over the ceremony," he said to her humbly.

Linith, Teana's older sister and an ordained minister, smiled back serenely. "My little sister is very fond of Nanoha, and it really isn't that large a favor," she reassured him.

"I need to thank Hayate for taking over setting this up," Shirou admitted. "We and Miss Harloun offered to split the costs, but she refused."

"That's Hayate for you," Linith agreed.

Hayate clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "All right everyone, places! We're ready to go," she said briskly.

Lindy and Shirou both hurried to their places, then the music started up. After some debate they went for a western ceremony, both for the convenience and honestly moving around in kimonos was a absolute bitch.

Chrono, Amy and Fate's guests sat on one side, while the Takamachi family and Nanoha's guests sat on the other. The tables and such that normally filled the club were in storage, nice benches lining each side of the club. A drape hid the bar, in which Linith stood in front of, and the 'private' benches were also hidden.

Fate and Lindy emerged first, Fate wearing a very nice suit as they walked up to the altar. Fate looked a little pale, but was bearing up nicely. Several of Fate's classmates were standing as 'Best Men' so to speak, along with Signum.

"How are you holding up?" Linith asked gently.

"I'm okay, ma'am," Fate said bravely.

"We'll hold her up if she faints," Signum added.

"Gee, thanks," Fate smiled wryly.

Just then Nanoha emerged from the back, dressed in a gorgeous white dress with traditional veil. Fate swayed a moment, struck by her etherial beauty, and for a moment she thought she really was going to faint.

"Easy," Linith murmured.

Nanoha stood beside Fate in a moment, smiling warmly at her lover. "You okay?" she murmured softly, lips barely moving.

"I am now," Fate whispered back.

Behind the two women the ring bearers, Vivio and Einhart, fidgeted a bit as they waited for their moment. Thankfully the rings has only been lost once so far, tho who knew what would happen if they didn't hurry up?

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Fate Testarossa-Harloun and Nanoha Takamachi in wedded matramony," Linith began. They went for a more condensed version of the usual ceremony, so after a short introduction Linith jumped right into the vows.

"Do you, Fate, take Nanoha as your wife, to honor, love and cherish for as long as you both shall live?" Linith asked formally.

Fate gulped nervously but answered clearly, "I do."

"Do you, Nanoha, take Fate as your wife, to honor, love and cherish for as long as you both shall live?" Linith asked her.

"|I do," Nanoha declared.

"The rings," Linith nodded to the little girls.

Fate took the one ring from it's satin cushion then took Nanoha's hand, gently sliding the gold ring in place. Nanoha took the other ring, gently sliding it on Fate's finger

"I know pronounce you wife and wife," Linith said to them with a beaming smile. "You may kiss the brides."

Fate reached out and flipped up Nanoha's veil, revealing her smiling face. They both leaned in close, then kissed tenderly but lingeringly.

"Ewww, mushy stuff," Vivio noted in the near silence of the room. There were giggles at that, even as Fate and Nanoha drew apart.

"Wait till you're older," Nanoha laughed as she kept a arm around Fate.

With the precision of a army general Hayate's people got the buffet tables set up as they switched from the wedding to reception. They also uncovered the bar, where Teanna took up her usual spot as the booze began to flow.

"To the lovely brides," Chrono toasted them, the slightly older man having seemingly gotten over his snit.

"To the brides!" the others echoed, raising their glasses.

"The rings are lovely," Linith noted as she sipped her drink.

"Both are family heirlooms," Kyouya Takamachi told her, the brown haired older man smiling. "The ring Nanoha gave Fate was originally our Grandmother's. I understand the ring she gave Nanoha is even older, as far as that goes."

"Cake cake cake cake!" several guest chanted as Nanoha and Fate were ushered over to the table where a very impressive cake was waiting.

"Hayate this is just too much!" Nanoha yelped at the towering monstrosity of cake and icining.

"Actually your parents helped make it for us," Hayate nodded to a beaming Shirou and Momoko, "so dig in!"

Fate steadied the knife as Nanoha cut the cake, their white gloved hands shaking slightly nervously. "There we go," Nanoha laughed, picking the cake up, then with a impish smile she mushed some cake into Fate's face.

"Oh thanks," Fate laughed, then smooched some on Nanoha's too. Then they began to pick the cake off each other.

"God those two are adorable," Arisa noted to Suzuka, Nanoha's two childhood friends having come to be bridesmaids. The light 'rose' dresses were better than most bridesmaids' dresses too, which they suspected was Momoko's doing. The cheerful blonde sipped her drink, noting that the bartender was pretty good.

"That they are," Suzuka agreed, her long purple hair flowing down her back. She sipped her own drink, "Do you ever regret not bagging Nanoha when we were younger?"

Arisa blushed pinkly, "Who says I had a crush on her?"

Suzuka gave her a look, "We both did, dummy."

Arisa laughed, shrugging as she took her girlfriend's hand. "Well, I think things turned out for the best anyway," she admitted.

Suzuka leaned forward and kissed her, "That they did."

Over at the bar Linith smiled at her younger sister. "Mother would be so shocked to see you serving bar," she noted cheerfully.

Teana snickered, "That's part of why I'm doing it."

Linith laughed. She dropped her voice a bit, "Mother did ask me to visit for another reason. It seems you've been writing about your coworker Subaru a bit often...?"

Teana, tellingly, blushed a bit.

"Is she the one in shorts and roller blades?" Linith asked. As Teana nodded Linith softly mused, "Nice ass..."

"Don't you dare," Teana glared at her older sister, who just snickered.

Momoko and Lindy went up to where Nanoha and Fate were takling with several guests, then the two women gestured for the crowd to quiet down. "Now, I know you weren't planning to honeymoon," Momoko said cheerfully, "but we've decided to change plans a bit."

"Mother...," Nanoha said a bit warily.

Lindy beamed, "Don't worry, we'll take care of Vivio, dears."

Momoko continued, "It's not much, but two days all expences paid at a local resort." She handed the envelope to Fate, winking.

Lindy added, "And you can't turn it down, it's all been paid for already."

Fate shrugged helplessly, "You know us too well," She looked at her wife, "Nanoha?"

Nanoha also smiled as she conceded, "Thank you very much."

"I thought you were gonna refuse," Hayate popped up, grinning.

"Don't DO that," Nanoha yelped.

"You two have fun," Hayate said, "and we'll keep an eye on things here. We've got play dates with Einhart already planned, and we'll spoil Vivio rotten."

"Yay!" Vivio cheered.

"Gee, thanks..." Fate rolled her eyes, laughing.

"We were going to just send you up there, but you need to pack and such," Shirou noted. He hugged his daugter, then his new daughter-in-law, "I look forward to getting to know you."

"Thank you," Fate blushed.

Lindy stepped back a bit, smiling fondly. So far it looked like the joining of the Harloun and Takamachi families was going well. She was honestly looking forward to getting to know Shirou and Momoko better.

"You okay?" Hayate asked her girlfriend, smiling up at her warmly.

"I am now," Lindy said, putting her arm around Hayate. And who knew... maybe there would be another wedding here at the Club before long...

End...?

Notes: Wanted to wrap things up with the Wedding. I DID consider another story arc involving who Vivio's biological Mom was, but honestly I didn't feel like it would be needed.

Tried to fit in as many characters as I could, and I know I missed some. Assume they're in the crowd scenes. Linith is from Nanoha Innocent, tho making her the priest was my own thing. SOMEBODY had to do it so, why not?
