Ael carefully scanned the home she was in. Archer had procured it for the use of the Romulan agents here who wanted to help.

"Anything?" her niece, Charvanek, asked.

"No," Ael replied. Meanwhile, Narviat was at Starfleet Command, talking over a plan with Archer and Reed, keeping them "in the loop".

"So, why the hell are we even here in the first place?" Charvanek asked, pacing the room.

"Because we need to be. We can't just let some pretentious Senator murder or injure innocents," Ael said.

"You know, they teach it at the War College that there are no innocents in war except for our own," her niece replied, still pacing.

"I know. I did some teaching there, remember. I recall thinking that they were teaching young people to be ruthless cold-blooded killers of the kind that we see the Klingons to be. Yet, here we are, spewing propaganda and hoping that none of the civilians catch wind of this," Ael stated, turning towards Charvanek, who lifted an eyebrow.

"You taught it all the same."

"It was that or lose my commission. What would you have me do?" Ael retorted.

"Sorry," Charvanek said quickly, recognizing the venom in Ael's tone. The older woman just sighed and continued to scan the rooms, making sure there were no bugs anywhere. She only found one, and its very presence chilled her. It wasn't of a configuration she knew. Perhaps Cadet Uhura should take a look at it.

! #$%^&*())(*&^%$# !

"It's got a Starfleet signal, Commander, but no identification code," Cadet Uhura reported. Jim Kirk watched as the Romulan woman's face darkened.

"Just what we need here," she muttered, "Your Section 31 getting involved."

"How exactly," Admiral Malcolm Reed interjected from behind Jim, "Do you know that?"

"I've had dealings with that particular branch of Starfleet once previously. One of your cadets was sent to infiltrate the War College as practice. A Cadet Luna Harris, if my memory serves me right," Ael said acidly, giving Reed a glare.

He looked confused, "Let me check that with the current head of the department. I've heard of no such mission."

"Perhaps you should put a few more thoughts into this. I found this in the apartment that Archer set up. I'd like a list of anyone involved in doing that," Ael requested.

Uhura looked back and forth between the Commander and the Admiral and slowly backed out of the room. Neither noticed as their argument continued.

AN- Wow, this story seems to be going through phases of long chapters then short ones. Hopefully with this being my last couple days of school, updating can get easier.
