Note: Since this is my final chapter for my second story I think I'll end my god of war story trilogy from here but I make a different god of war story soon. I wanted to thank you guys for giving me the support. Creating these stories has been really interesting and entertaining at the same time. See you soon and enjoy.
Atreus was the first one wake up in his bed before Calliope. Mimir was also asleep and placed on the dinner table. He sees Calliope sleeping peacefully under the fur blankets as always, it brought joy to his heart know that she's safe from Asgard and Odin's tyranny. Even if Odin would do anything foolish to send in Asgard warriors to go after him, Calliope, Lysandra, Pandora, Faye or the rest of his family he would kill them all.
Atreus removes the blankets and gets up from his bed and walks to the table to wake up Mimir in whispers.
"Mimir... Mimir!"
Mimir yawned, "Oh, morning little brother."
Atreus smiles and looks at his sister, "Can you please watch Calliope for me. I'm heading out for a little while to clear some Draugr around our cabin. I'll probably see Brok and Sindri as well."
"Alright lad, you can count on me. I'll make sure the lass is safe."
"Thanks Mimir."
Atreus heads outside with his bow and quiver this time. The boy wanders the cold forest as Finbulwinter kicks in, he spots a few Draugrs and Hel-walkers walking around as he shoots them in the head from a great distance nowhere to be seen like a savage. After a while of killing creatures Atreus arrives at Brok and Sindri's workshop.
"Hey Brok. Hey Sindri."
"Hello, master Atreus."
"Hey kid. how's it goin', anything new?"
"Nothing much honestly. Been dealing with alot of Draugrs and other creatures. Keeping Calliope safe. And surviving."
"Speaking of that, where in Helheim is your little sister? She around?"
"Actually she's back at the cabin, sleeping. Restoring her strength when we fought the Valkyries yesterday. Mimir is keeping an eye on her."
"Oh, that makes sense. Makes me feel a little bit better that Mimir doesn't have to be around me where I could see him." Sindri exclaimed as he gags a little.
"Will you quit with that shit. I've seen many gross things back in the days and they still don't bother me. Unlike you I always have to hear that gagging crap everyday."
Sindri sighs,"You see what I have to deal with everyday, huh?"
"I can clearly see that, Sindri. But I'm honestly on both sides at this point. How was mom or Laufey able to put up with you two?" Atreus asks
"I swear to Odin's old asshole. Both of us, well mostly I would have deal with Faye every single day. She or depends on which Faye your takin' about would be the conversationalist that ask me alot of questions day and night."
"What kind of questions, Brok?"
"The types of questions that would be too inappropriate for you to hear. I'm pretty sure your Old Man or Mother would kill me if I broke out messed up words with you."
"Oh. I see. Anyway I think I'll be on my way back now. You guys take care." Atreus waved them goodbye as he exits Tyr's temple.
Atreus remembers that he needed to talk to Freya to about what happened yesterday. She must know the truth.
Calliope awoke, she sits up as she yawns and rubs her eyes.
"Rise and shine, lass."
Calliope's brain tried to process everything around her. She forgot that Mimir was on the dinner table where he was sleeping.
"Good morning, Mimir."
"Did you sleep good?"
"No, not really. I kept having nightmares of being tortured in Asgard."
"Oh don't worry lass. The only thing that truly matters is that you are here with your brother and I."
Calliope smiles back at Mimir but only to find her brother not in his bed. Calliope sighs in disappointment.
Mimir understood her frustration, "Calliope, I understand what you are going through. Atreus just simply went outside to clear some Draugr around the cabin he also told me to keep an eye on you, he has been going through alot during these past few weeks since you've been stuck in Asgard. He just needs to clear his head and he'll come around."
"But why doesn't he want to be with me?" Calliope cried out as tears are streaming down her cheeks, "We fought together over the years but... h-he doesn't w-want to spend time with me."
"Calliope, Atreus cares about you with all of his heart. Since Finbulwinter has started he'll probably be a little bit focused on protecting you. I promise you once he comes back bursting through that door all excited to see you. Maybe he'll take to a beautiful place where you would love to see."
Calliope wiped away her tears, "Do you really think so?"
"I honestly haven't the foggiest idea. if I'm being honest." Mimir laughs as Calliope giggled.
Moments later have passed for a while, Atreus came through the door. Atreus closes the door behind him as he sees Calliope getting out of her bed looking at him. Atreus walked over to Calliope to hug her wrapped her arms around her as Calliope does the same.
"Good morning, Calliope."
Calliope yawns, "Good morning, Brother."
"Very good to see you lad. You sure took your time. How are the Huldra Brothers?"
"They are good Mimir. I needed to talk to Freya as well about what happened yesterday." Atreus voice became a little sad yet still the same. Calliope looks at her brother with curiosity as she spoke.
"How did she take it?"
"Well, she was devastated as first but in a way she took it well. She thanked me for telling her the truth. So we'll leave her alone for a while."
"Aye, she'll come around." Mimir decided to change the subject, "So what do you two want to today? Any suggestions?"
Atreus and Calliope both looked at eachother, they raised shoulders in a 'I don't know?' gesture. Atreus quickly realized that he had almost forgotten something.
"Calliope come with me."
"What for?"
"You'll see." Atreus says as he began to exit the door. Calliope was almost about exit with her weapons in hand until a voice stopped her.
"Forgetting someone lass?"
Calliope turnings around to figure out what they'd almost forgotten about. Calliope felt bad for Mimir they couldn't just leave him there. She walks over to the head as she picks him with her two hands.
"Apologize Mimir. You're just so quiet sometimes." Calliope chuckles
"It's quite alright lassy. I get that alot too."
"I can see that perfectly clear."
Calliope came out the door with Mimir in her small hands. She closed it on her way out. She now sees Atreus standing at the gate where the entrance is. She walks over to him with Mimir in hand. Atreus grabs Mimir and places him his infinite space bag. Atreus leads Calliope to some place that he has not see in a long time. They finally reach this area where there are many different types of flowers. Calliope stares in awe, amazed at the sight of how such beautiful flowers surround this grassy area. It was like a heaven. Atreus smiled at her sister's expression of amazement as her spirits were lifting higher than the clouds.
"Atreus why did you bring me here?" Calliope questions her brother.
"Because I wanted to show you something that would make you feel better about now saving you. I thought that it would be nice for you to take it all in. Plus I wanted to make you something here."
"What did you want to make me?"
"Can't tell you." Atreus says as he laughs, "I want it to be a surprise. So while I work on it, you can wander around the field and enjoy this."
Without hesitation Calliope ran into field admiring the beautiful sight of many flowers, she began to laugh in joy and twirls around the field. There are Roses, Daisies, Crocus Flowers, Irises, etc. Atreus takes time making Calliope's gift, he makes sure the gift is in perfect condition keeping his hands steady and swiftly. He takes Mimir out as he sees what the children are doing.
"That's impressive lad." Mimir complements Atreus's work.
"Thank you Mimir. I actually used to make these with my Mother in my timeline. Crocus Flowers were always Calliope's favorite. And I also made Calliope another gift as well. Kratos actually taught it to me years ago after we became gods."
"Oh makes perfect sense. So when do you plan on giving it to lass?"
"Maybe right now or the end of the day. I don't know, honestly."
"I think you should give it to her now lad. You can see she's having an amazing time here. And what do you plan on doing for the next three summers?"
"I plan on making these 3 years the best years of her life before Ragnarok happens."
"Oh that's good lad. But if there's anything at all you that's bothering you, you can tell me." Atreus just simply stays silent but he understood Mimir and he knew that.
After many hours Calliope walks back to her brother, Atreus hides her gift, holding it behind his back when he saw her approaching.
"So you like it here?" Atreus smiles at her sister
"Like it here? Atreus I love it here." Calliope said in return. She also grew curious of what Atreus held behind him.
"I'm glad you like- sorry, love it here. I wanted to give you this. A princess like you deserves a crown worthy of a kingdom of all flowers. And the finest musician in all of Scandinavia and Greece." Atreus says with honor as he revealed Calliope gifts as she gasps in awe. It was a Crocus Flwoer Crown and a wooden flute. Atreus places the flower crown on Calliope's head, a perfect fit for a little goddess.
"I give you the title of the flower princess. Ruler of all flowers in the world and of all nine realms." Calliope giggles at her brother's role play as tears fall down in joy as she gives her brother a hug as he returns the favor.
"I love you Atreus."
"I love you too, Calliope."
Mimir smiles at there interactions. Upon mount Olympus, Norse Kratos, Greek Kratos and the others stare at the reflection pool with smiles. Lysandra and Faye stood next to one another as tears fall from their eyes having to raise such wonderful children from another timeline married to the same man truly meaning that Atreus and Calliope were meant to be together as half siblings while the men, including the other Mimir and Pandora just smiled in awe.
Atreus, Mimir and Calliope take there leave, heading back to the lake of the nine. Next they decided that they want to fix everything. They freed all of the dragons that were held captive, defeated every single creature that they could kill, kill Odin's ravens and closed up all of the realm portals from Midgard, Niflheim, Alfheim, and Helheim. Half a day pasted as the sun began to lower on the horizon so they decided to head back home and call it a day. They began to get ready for bed.
"Wow, I'm very sore from today but that didn't stop me from taking a break." Atreus says.
"No it did not brother. I felt the same way. And I made a new song." Calliope replies.
"Really lass? I'm curious to hear it."
"As am I." Both Mimir and Atreus agreed. Calliope sits down on her bed as she gets her new flute. Calliope held her flute in her hands as she places it on her rosy lips and starts playing a new beautiful melody.
(Listen to The Land Of Eternal Winter by Antti Martikainen on /anttimartikainen/the-land-of-eternal-winter)
At the moment Calliope finished Atreus clapped at her performance with her gift as he for Mimir who is just a head just simply quotes, "That was beautiful lass."
Calliope smiles back, "Thank you Mimir."
"Alright then we should get some rest, Finbulwinter winter will last for quite a while."
"Ok Atreus. Good night."
All three of them fade in a land of dreams. Later on Atreus started to have visions of Finbulwinter ending, meaning that Ragnarok has been brought fourth. Atreus's body is on his knees in pain and defeat. He looks up and now sees Heimdallr once more standing before him, both of them are at the same location where Atreus first fought him. Heimdallr raised his sword and thrusts it forward to Atreus as the vision fades away.
Atreus awoke going into shock, he touches his chest to make sure that there is no scar on his body. He sighs in relief.
'What was that? Was it real or was it just in my head? No it couldn't have been.
Atreus refused to believe what he had just dreamed of. He looks over to Mimir and Calliope who were still sleeping. Atreus quickly grabs his weapons as he leaves the house and it was nearly midnight. The boy arrives at the mountain summit and reactivated the Jotunheim gateway. He heads back mural temple with the prophecies, as he examines the third mural on the bottom, his uses the amulet of Uroborus to rebuild the third mural as he sees drawings of him fighting Thor, next was Kratos and the others fighting Odin, Thor, and Heimdallr, the third was him fighting Heimdallr again and at the bottom right he saw himself dying as Calliope held his body crying. Atreus says nothing at all as he simply places his hand softly on the image of his dying body as tears fall from his eyes hitting the ground. The Jotunheim giant's foresaw this, knowing that Atreus and and his mother are the last of his kind he must embrace this because it's his destiny and further more he shall finally be at peace once more ending the nightmares of Chaos that plagued his mind.
Atreus closes the gateway and heads back to the cabin seeing that Calliope and Mimir still sleeping. Atreus decided to get some rest as well and live to see tomorrow and spend as much time with Calliope as he possibly can.
3 Years Later nearly the end of Finbulwinter.
Thunder rumbles with extreme force as if the whole earth was shaking. The noise woke up Atreus and Calliope.
"Atreus, what was that?"
"Calliope your weapons!"
Both of them quickly gathered their weapons as Mimir is put in Atreus's infinite space bag. Atreus rushes to the door, he opens it as wide as he could and sees a tall muscular cloaked figure standing a few feet away from the house as thunder began to strike the ground in a violent manner.
"I was hoping you'd show your face again." Atreus mocks at the cloaked figure.
The cloaked figure stood at the same spot as he revealed his ultimate weapon, Mjolnir.
Atreus quickly places his hand in front of Calliope for protection. He knows that battling the god of thunder is suicide but he need to insure one thing.
"Calliope, take Mimir and run as fast as you can, far away from this place." Atreus places his hand on Calliope's cheek as she gasps in fear.
"No I'm not leaving you. You could die." Calliope replies with whispers as tears formed at the corner of her eyes.
"I know I'll die or maybe not but I can't let you fight him with me. I don't want that, seeing you safe is all that really matters to me more than anything...Go, and take Mimir with you."
Atreus gives Calliope his bag.
"I love you brother."
"And I love you too, sister." Atreus smiles at her as he gives Calliope a kiss on her forehead before she departs into the forest. Atreus turns his attention towards the god of thunder.
"I've finally waited for this day, it took some time to find you. Once you die the glory will be mine. Finally after so many years I've found the last Jotnar." Thor says as holds Mjolnir in hand. Atreus scoffed.
"Took you long enough." Atreus says as he clutches his fists and transforms to Spartan Rage, "Now the real fight begins."
Atreus growls in anger and intense fury, his wings appeared from his back. He flies forward to Thor's gut sending him flying across the air but the thunder stops midair going forward to Atreus as he does the same, Mjolnir collided with Atreus's fist creating a powerful shockwave destroying everything around them.
The battle lasted like forever until everything began to calm down. Calliope made it back to the land in one piece without any signs of injury. The land had been damaged, but a little of it remained. She makes it back to the entrance of the cabin but it had been completely demolished.
"Oh no." Calliope slowly backed away from the sight but she remembers something that she had almost forgotten, "Atreus! Atreus!"
Calliope called out to her brother but he was nowhere to be seen, she began to follow the trial of destruction for a while. She couldn't find Atreus anywhere at all, not looking where she was going she trips over something that made her fall on the snow.
She gets back up on her knees and looks back to see what she tripped by. She couldn't believe her eyes, it was Atreus's bow. The quiver had been broken into pieces and the metal bow itself had been snapped in half. She started to move in the same direction as a blood trail was seen in the snow, and what was revealed at the end made Calliope gasps in horror. She had found Atreus's body. His body was pale, bloodied, beaten, and cold. Calliope fell to her knees as she crawled to Atreus's body and began to shake him.
"Atreus please, wake up! Please!" Calliope cried out as her own tears fell on her brother's bruised and beaten face, "You can't leave me!"
A huge shadow hover over her and Atreus. The loud voice rumbles softly calling to them. It was Jormungandr.
Calliope looks up at the beast, her sight was blurry from the tears she shed and her eyes were red, she began to feel this anger coursing within her.
"Why? Why didn't you help him?" Calliope shouts out, "You should've saved him... I should've saved him."
Jormungandr continues to mumble but the girl continues to cry softly on her brother's head, ignoring the the loud voice. Calliope began to carry Atreus's body.
Calliope knocks on Freya's front door with her knee. The door opens to reveal Freya with her Valkyrie wings as she also wears armor. Freya gasps in horror as she noticed Atreus's dead body.
"Come inside."
Calliope walks in as she places Atreus's body on the floor gently.
"What happened?" Freya asks Calliope as the Valkyrie places Mimir on the table. She kneeled to Calliope while placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Thor came to the cabin. Atreus fought him alone and lost. Before they fought one another he told me to run."
"I am very sorry." Freya said as tears stream down her cheeks.
A loud knock on the door was heard. Freya gestured her hand for Calliope to stay back. She opens the door to reveal a pale man with an angry face.
"Kratos. I'm sorry."
Norse Kratos came in with the others. Faye and Norse Kratos kneel next to Atreus who was dead.
"My baby boy." Faye says softly, placing her hand on Atreus's head. Crying her eyes out as Lysandra does the same on Greek Kratos's chest as he held his wife close to her. Pandora, Deimos and Orkos look down in grievance.
"Who did this to him?" Norse Kratos said in a cold voice while he held his son's body.
"Father, it was Thor. God of Thunder." Calliope replies still heartbroken.
Norse Kratos gets back up to his feet. He walks out of the front door going outside. The god shouts in anger. The flames surrounded his forearms as they began to get hotter to rival the sun itself he walked to the left side of the house as he bagan to smash some heavy rocks. Minutes later have passed by as he came back. Brok and Sindri came in through the back door from the cave.
"Someone activated the bridge from Asgard and -" Brok immediately stops his sentence when he noticed Atreus's dead body, "Oh no."
At that moment when Brok said the word, "Asgard." Norse Kratos immediately got to his feet as he storms out of the back door. and uses the realm between realms to appear at Brok and Sindri's workshop. He exits Tyr's temple and sees the God of Thunder.
"Ghost of Sparta. Your son was a strong opponent but was foolish enough to think of fighting me alone." Thor laughs in humor but his moment was interrupted by a strike at the face sending his body to the Midgard tower.
"For what you did this realm will be your grave." Norse Kratos growls in anger as Spartan Rage forms. Thor gets back up with ease as he flies forward to Kratos at full speed. The god of thunder was kicked aside from Freya sending his body off somewhere else creating a small aftershock. Freya softly lands near Kratos.
"I didn't need your help woman!"
"And if you're dead then what. Who will help you?"
The others arrive at Tyr's temple's bridge, all except for Mimir, Pandora, Brok, and Sindri.
Thunder rumbles again as the lightning began to strike from every direction. After it was over Thor hovered above the lake of the nine staring at his enemies with an evil sinister laugh that echoed the skies.
All 8 warriors: Lysandra, Greek Kratos, Norse Kratos, Deimos, Orkos, Freya, Calliope, and Faye stare at the god of thunder. They get ready for his next attack.
Brok, Pandora, Sindri, and Mimir. They all say a few nice things about Atreus, for everything that he'd done for them. He was a special boy. Pandora mainly took it a little hard because she never forgot that day, the day that he saved her from the Labyrinth. She felt something strong come from Atreus, like he was somehow still alive. Pandora quickly knees behind Atreus's head, she summons blue fires around her hands and she places them of his temples.
"What are you trying to do?" Sindri asked with a confused face.
"I believe he's not dead yet. I can still save him."
"Well go on. Help the kid out." Brok added.
Darkness was the only thing that he saw in his surroundings, as for his body was nothing but a shadow as he follows a road that leads straightforward.
"Hahahahahaha. Nothing but fear and darkness lies ahead Atreus." Chaos's voice echoes in his ears.
Atreus continues to walk forward, he could hear Calliope, Faye and Lysandra's cries as they continue to do so. Atreus had always feared that his loved ones would think of him as a monster like Chaos himself if he lost control when his rage takes over or if he used to speed to do many terrible things.
"You monster, we will never forgive you."
"Our blood will stain your hands forever."
"Your are not my brother. You never were."
Atreus continues to walk, ignoring the voices, the enenvironment began to change. The view was Greece, it up in flames and destruction. He saw Chaos holding Hephaestus by his throat.
"Please, Chaos. Spare my beloved child, as a father I beg you." Hephaestus begs Chaos but the god of speed stabs him through the heart.
Atreus looks in fear, the images fade away. Atreus continues to move trying to forget what he saw but he couldn't. He continues to move forward, following the long endless road. He next sees Chaos holding Calliope as his other self is trying to save her but he wasn't fast enough.
"Calliope no!" Atreus screamed out at the top of his lungs. Atreus holds Calliope's body, "I'm sorry."
Calliope fades in ashes as they began to cover Atreus's body creating the Ghost of Olympus. Atreus continues moving. He sees a blood trail, at the end of the blood trail he only see Calliope standing in the still.
"Atreus, you can see the light. It is changing you. It is time to lay your fears to rest. The light reveals the truth, the power of forgiveness comes from within. To be forgiven you must find the power to forgive yourself."
Atreus slowly walks to Calliope, he embraces her with a smile and proceeds to hug her as a blue fire surrounds them. The fire fades away along with Calliope. Atreus proceeds. He now stands over a cliff. Atreus leans forward falling into an ocean of blood of Chaos's victims. The cries of every innocent mortal being and god that plagued his head.
Pandora's voice and blue fire appeared in front of him, "Atreus, the others are in danger. Come, I can show you the way."
Atreus quickly swims following Pandora's spirit. They move forward as Atreus began to hear Chaos's demonic voice.
"Why won't you just accept your fate and die already!"
"Because my family needs me and my story is not over yet!" Atreus yells back.
Atreus now proceeds to walk on solid ground, he sees Pandora's blue fire hovering over a ancient box. It was Pandora's box that was forged by Hephaestus. Pandora's fire enters the closed box as her voice spoke to Atreus.
"As the fear in the gods rose, mine was replaced by Hope."
"The power to kill a god." Atreus says as he places his hand softly on the box, he opens it as a blue fire started to surround him.
"Hope is what make us strong. Is it what we fight with when all else is lost." Pandora says softly to Atreus. As she fades away.
In the real world, Pandora released her hands from Atreus's head. Nothing happened but not until Atreus began to clutch his right hand. His battle injuries began to heal by a blue aura that surrounded his body. His blue eyes open only to reveal a blue fire in both of his cold blue eyes. The forearms show a light blue fire instead of an orange red color. A blue pulsing mark appeared on his birthmark. It was a glorious sight.
Everyone stood back as they stared in awe. Atreus gets back up to his feet and stands up straight. He inhales and exhales calmly while examining his new transformation. Pandora just smiled and hugged Atreus as he does the same.
"It's good to see you again lad." Mimir smiles.
"Yeah, good to see you again kid. Looks like Helheim didn't want you so that place just spat you back to Midgard." Brok replies with a laugh of joy seeing his friend is alive.
Sindri just simply sniffles softly at seeing Atreus alive and breathing, "Sorry. I'm speechless. I have no words at all to describe how I feel."
Atreus looks at them as he smiles, "Neither am I."
They head outside through the front door as they see the moon and sun being consumed by Skall and Hati.
"The twilight of the gods has begun." Mimir says. Ragnarok has started.
The others began to get exhausted, Thor just simply won't go down. Calliope was on the ground trying to get to her sword but she was too tired and sore to even move. All 9 of them were at the flower field where Atreus brought Calliope 3 years ago.
"I came here for a challenge but all of you are just not enough to entertain me. Pathetic." Thor mocks as walks pass each own of them as Calliope is at the very end. He sees her trying to go for her sword.
Calliope grabs the handle of her sword, she turns around to strike Thor but he grabbed her wrist and squeezes it making Calliope release her grip from the pain.
"I give you courage for not giving up young one but since Ragnarok started moments ago I'll reunite you with your brother you fucking whore!" Thor yells out as he makes Calliope face her family, everyone goes into shock as Thor raised his hammer.
"CALLIOPE!" Greek Kratos yells out at the top of his lungs. Trying to get up but he could not.
"LET HER GO OR YOU'LL BE BEGGING FOR DEATH!" Norse Kratos yells out at the top of his lungs.
Thor chuckles evilly. Calliope closed her eyes as tears fell of her cheeks preparing for the worst. But the moment was interrupted by someone sending Thor across the battle field hitting many trees and hills. Calliope was in shock to see anything at the moment but when the person grabbed her shoulder gently she looked to see who it was and even everyone else was speechless. It was Atreus in his Berserker hope form then he switched back to his normal state.
"Atreus...? Is it really you?" Calliope said in confusion as the others got up to their feet slowly witnessing the moment.
"The one and only, Calliope." Atreus smiles at her. Calliope began to cry softly on his chest.
"We thought that you had died. How a-are you he-here."
"I actually had a little help from Pandora. You should thank her when this is over."
An angry god roars out from the distance, thunder began to rumble again. Thor hovers above the lake of the nine again only to see Atreus who he thought had died by his hand.
"WHY WON'T YOU DIE!" Thor yelled out loud, 'This could be a problem for all of us.'
A loud roar came from behind Thor that belonged to Jormungandr as Thor processed to fight his arch enemy. Atreus quickly realized that what needed to be done since Ragnarok already started. He needed to fight Heimdallr again.
"Help Jormungandr...while I make my final stand."
Calliope stared at her brother with confusion, "What are you talking about?"
"The Jotunheim giants foresaw that on the day of Ragnarok every Aesir god dies and I must fight Heimdallr again without any help at all."
"No! Heimdallr nearly killed you! You just now returned to us and now you want to leave us again!"
"Atreus listen to her! We cannot lose you again. There must be another way." Norse Kratos joined in.
"No, there is no other way. It's my destiny because I'm part Giant and I must embrace it. Either one of us has to die. And I won't let you stop me."
Calliope grabs Atreus's arm, not letting go of her brother, "Brother please!"
The bifrost suddenly appeared before them. Heimdallr must have heard every word as the god waits silently for his return.
Atreus sighs calmly trying not to cry and smirks, "Know that I'll always love you in this life and the one after."
Atreus gives her little sister one final hug. Atreus stares at the rest of his family, "Take care of her for me."
"Atreus, you do not have to do this. It's not to late, we can help you."
"Father, I want this. All I want is for Calliope to be safe and have a bright future. And that goes for all of you too. This is who I am and I must do my part. We are the gods that we choose to be, I'm doing this not for vengeance but for justice on the Aesir for what they did to Calliope."
Atreus was not wrong and Norse Kratos knows that for sure as the bearded man stared at the bifrost and looked back at Atreus.
"Then ready yourself boy."
Norse Kratos said as he places a hand on his son's shoulder with his lip twitched upwards. Faye kneels down to Atreus's level and places a hand on his cheek.
"You were the greatest blessing that your father and I could ever have. My little Loki, the champion of the giants. I love you my son."
"I love you, mom."
Deimos joins in, "We have had our differences in the past. But you're a great warrior Atreus."
"Thank you Deimos. I'm also glad that your mind is in the right place after you were stuck in Hades for a while."
Deimos adds a chuckle. Orkos spoke out, "I would not have been strong enough to choose your path, Atreus. You are one of a kind."
"I would rather live in truth, Orkos. Because of you I would've never found Calliope at the Hecatonchires's prison."
Atreus shakes Orkos's hand in respect. Brok and Sindri appeared out of nowhere along with Pandora and Mimir. Atreus hugs Brok and Sindri, the Huldra Brothers don't even resist they just take it in.
"Both of you have great friends in this timeline and the other." Atreus said.
"I'm proud to have a friend like you, Atreus." Sindri says while patting him on the back.
"Yah, kid. You not so bad after all. Maybe while your at it why don't you kill a few Asgardian cock fuckers for me." Brok replies softly.
"Um...Okay? I'll just pretend I didn't hear that."
Atreus turned his attention towards Pandora who holds Mimir, "So you really are doing this, lad?"
"Yeah Mimir. I am. But don't worry the other Mimir from my timeline remains on Olympus so you'll have someone to talk to."
"Oh, how kind of you lad. Wish I could give hug."
Atreus snorts, "Yeah me too."
Freya walks to Atreus to give him a hug, "Goodbye Atreus."
"Goodbye Freya. I've been thinking, you would be better off with the Olympians at Greece. The gods there are not so bad as the Aesir."
Freya smiles at the young god, "I would agree with that, child."
Lysandra approached Atreus with her husband by her side, "Thank you for everything, Atreus. You have been an amazing brother to our daughter. You really are your father's son."
Atreus walks to the beautiful spartan woman to hug her hip, "And I am grateful to be your stepson, Lysandra."
Greek Kratos ruffled Atreus's red hair as the boy stared at him, "We shall never forget you Atreus. Your name shall always be remembered to the pillars of history along with your greatest battles, God of justice, strength, and honor."
Pandora hands Mimir to Norse Kratos as Pandora walks to Atreus and was unexpected to Atreus was that she had kissed him on the cheek. Atreus's cheeks flushed in embarrassment as Pandora quoted, "Thank you for saving me."
Calliope and the other girls giggled at Atreus's face while Brok laughs as well. Atreus didn't even move by the slightest of what just happened.
"I think you broke his spirits, Pandora. And he lost his will to fight." Calliope said as she waved her hand in front of Atreus's face, "Ah, I have an idea."
Calliope uses her light abilities to blind Atreus like he was staring at the sun. Atreus screams as he rubs his eyes, his vision heals as he stared at Calliope.
"What was that for?!"
"To help you regain your thoughts, Brother."
"A simple tap on the shoulder would've been helpful but you just wanted to blind me instead?"
"And I brought you back to reality."
Atreus just rolls his eyes and scoffs, he nows stands in front of the bifrost, he creates an illusion around his body from head to toe. His fur uniform changes into an armor that was fit for battle, he now wears the garb of the last Jotunn as the blades of chaos are seen of his back. He takes a few breaths in. Atreus looks back at his family with a smile.
"Run, Atreus. Run." Faye says softly but loud enough for all of them. Atreus's eyes spark red electricity with a smile on his face as he runs up the rainbow bridge in a flash.
Calliope looks in another direction, she sees Jormungandr on the ground who was weak as Thor stands on the side of Jormungandr's face ready to make the final blow but he was blasted away by Calliope's divine energy sphere heading to a nearby mountain.
"Without that hammer Thor will be vulnerable and weak. He will turn his attention on us and when he does we work as a team. I'll go for the head when I take the hammer." Calliope says.
"We can win against the god of thunder together, we will destroy his very title and we shall him tremble before us." Greek Kratos yells out to the others with his words of inspiration.
Everyone gets their weapons ready, preparing themselves for one last shot against the god of thunder. Calliope calls her sword back to her hand as her brown eyes show orange electricity activating her speed and replies, "Just as we are in agreement, let's kill him properly this time."
Atreus stops as he stands in front of Heimdallr in the same spot, he looks behind him and sees Surtr burning Asgard with his sword while every warrior on Asgard attacks the fire giant as Fenrir battles Odin. Atreus looks at Heimdallr with a smirk.
"I saw you coming."
"Of course you did...I made promise. The next time we met I would have your life."
"Come then Jotnar. And attempt to take it."
Atreus yells out as activates his Berserker Rage/ Berserker Hope form and clashes his blades against Heimdallr's sword.
Calliope ran to Thor at full speed, she began to strike his body with her sword leaving but cuts and wounds. Thor yells out as he slammed Mjolnir to the ground making a powerful thunder shockwave sending Calliope off flying, Thor was about to throw Mjolnir to its target but Thor was hit by Lysandra's spear on the shoulder as Faye sends an ice beam to freeze Thor. Norse Kratos, Deimos, and Greek Kratos attacked from behind sending powerful hits with their own bare hands and with their weapons. Greek Kratos climbs on Thor's back with his blades of exile, as Thor tried to get him off Deimos struck his face with his Spartan shield while Greek Kratos jumped off. Norse Kratos hits Thor with a broken tree sending his body to the air, Freya dives to Thor's body sending both of them to the ground creating an earthquake. Freya quickly flies out of the crater to regroup with the others. Thor walks out of the crater with Mjolnir on one as he places his other hand on his chest showing that he's starting to get exhausted.
"Becoming tired Thor? We should be harder to destroy than enormous giants right?" Freya tells the god of thunder.
Thor growls in frustration, "NOT UNTIL YOU LIE DEAD AT MY FEET!"
Thor raises his hammer, thunder began to surround the metal hammer and throws it at the group. They brace themselves but in an instant the hammer was out of sight.
"What?" Thor was surprised and shocked at the same time.
Someone clears their throat behind Thor, the god of thunder looked behind to see who it was and it was Calliope who held Thor's hammer in her small delicate hands. Calliope uppercuts Thor's chin with Mjolnir in hand sending the bloodthirsty god in the air, she raises Mjolnir as lightning surrounded the hammer. She makes the hammer face Thor as the powerful weapon began to shoot lightning at Thor's body while still in the air and hits the ground really hard. Calliope ran to Thor with her speed and places her foot on his neck chocking him.
"No Calliope, he is beaten. Not worth killing." Norse Kratos said to Calliope from behind while everyone else remained silent.
Calliope released her foot off of Thor, the god of thunder coughs as he tries to get back up but he didn't have the strength anymore. Now he was the one on the ground, defeated by outsiders. Nothing more than a humiliation to himself and all of Asgard.
Calliope stands a few feet away from Thor while looking down at him, "You can lie there and think about everything that you have done. Just go crawl into a place and hide in shame, I never want to see you again."
Calliope turns around to walk away, following her family. Thor growls while he sees a sharp broken tree branch that's near him. He grabs it and sneaks up on Calliope. The little girl glanced down at her shadow, seeing Thor's creeping over her body she quickly looks back and deflected his attack knocking him off balance. She fires an energy beam at his heart. The son of Odin yells out painfully as he fell to his knees.
"A fine attempt but a warrior knows better than lowering his or her own guard down."
Calliope placed her palm in front of Thor's face creating a energy sphere, powers up that it becomes bigger than her small hand, "At least try to face your death with honor. And this is for every Giant that you killed in cold blood. Even your own brother, Baldur."
Thor's final stand has come to an end, there was no other option left for the god of thunder, the strongest god of all Aesir beaten by a little girl. Thor closes his eyes slowly and exhales calmly for one last time. Calliope fires the blast as his head was no longer seen, blood was slowly leaking out as the body fell forward to the ground.
Atreus continues to battle Heimdallr who was able to get a few hits on his enemy but the foresight god had done the same, both of them were a bloody mess but the hits that Heimdallr would put on Atreus's body would just heal in an instant. The Berserker Hope form however was effecting Atreus's body by putting a lot of stress. Heimdallr raised his sword and thrusts it forward but Atreus deflected it as he grapples his chain-blades to Heimdallr's body and launched himself to knee his enemy in the chest very hard. Atreus quickly uses his speed to hit Heimdallr multiple times, Atreus uppercuts Heimdallr sending his body to the roof and falls back to the ground. Atreus's Berserker Hope form shuts down and breathes heavily while getting on his knees.
Atreus looks at the city that's up in flames then looks back at Heimdallr. The god grabbed his sword again, he uses it to regain position as Atreus does the same with his blades of chaos.
Atreus runs and then clashes his blades against Heimdallr's blade, Atreus lost balance when he tried to make another strike at Heimdallr's body. Heimdallr quickly took the advantage as he strikes Atreus leaving multiple cuts around his body. Atreus quickly deflected Heimdallr's sword and throws one of the blades at Heimdallr, the sharp metal impales one of Heimdallr's legs.
Atreus falls forward on the ground but regains position on one knee. Atreus's adrenaline pumps back up as he grips the handle and charges, he thrusts his second blade to Heimdallr's chest but Heimdallr grabbed the blade before it made contact with the body. Heimdallr quickly head butted Atreus in the face, pickup his body and slammed him to the ground. Heimdallr pulls the blade out his leg, tossed both chained blades aside and limps back to his sword.
"I will not quit ever." Atreus says under his breath as slightly gets on one of his knees, he quickly glanced at both blades on the floor. The chains still wrapped around his forearms as Heimdallr stands in between the blades with his sword in hand as he prepared to make the final blow.
'Need to make this count.' Atreus thinks to himself, hoping that this attack will finish off Heimdallr once and for all.
Atreus shouts out in glory as Heimdallr charges. He grips the chians to raise the blades of chaos above his own body. He swings the blades down to Heimdallr and decapitated his head (Like how Greek Kratos killed the Barbarian king when he first got the blades of chaos) but the foresight god's sword impaled Atreus as well.
Atreus fell to his knees and looked down the sword that now is in his chest. He coughs out blood as he began to pull the sword out of his body as he yelled out in pain. Finally the sword was out, Atreus still had enough energy to walk back to Midgard. He looks back at Surtr how is now about to burn Asgard to its core while picks up Heimdallr's head with one hand as he places his other hand on his chest wound and began to walk to his final destination.
Back to Midgard with the others, everyone began to worry about Atreus, some time awhile ago the bifrost where Atreus ran up to had disappeared and they do not know why until Brok and Sindri informed that Tyr's realm travel bridge was locked on Asgard. The group arrived at the realm travel bridge. Clouds began to cover the sky even the sun itself. The doors to Tyr's temple opens as a young boy holding the head of Heimdallr with one hand began to come out of the shadows. Everyone remains silent as beauty takes over, having no words to say while rain began to descend from the heavens in a majestic way. Atreus looks up and closes his eyes slowly and takes it all in. Glory, power, strength, honor, and courage is all that is said from the rain. Atreus opens his eyes and looks at his family.
"Heimdallr is dead." That is all that Atreus says, he tossed the head of his enemy a few feet away in between him and the group. But they did not care about the head of Heimdallr at all.
"Atreus...you're-"
Atreus cuts Calliope off while placing his right hand on his chest as blood was slowly leaking out of his body, "I know Calliope. I know."
Calliope walks to him and slowly hugs Atreus, she was careful not to hurt Atreus in any way but he wouldn't care whatsoever about the endurance pain ever again. Atreus wraps his left arm around Calliope.
"I will finally be at peace. The nightmares can finally leave my head once and for all."
"I will never forget you brother." Calliope says with tears while looking at him in the eyes.
"And I will greet you in the afterlife, Calliope. I'll be waiting."
Atreus groans in pain and coughs as Calliope sets him down on the ground slow and easy as the others approach the children. Atreus raised his hand to Calliope's beautiful face to wipe her tears away with his thumb, he next holds Calliope's hand to pass down his powers onto her even the power of Hope to her. She would now be the next warrior to defend Greece, she wouldn't do it for power, or glory. She would do it for Atreus.
"Do not shed tear. There is no greater victory then to fall from this world... a great warrior." Atreus says in a weak voice, "Fate has brought me here...I fear nothing...I am free."
Atreus takes his last breath in slowly. He exhales one final blow of air and closes his eyes. The storm began to move aside as the sun began to shine again.
Later on at night in the lands outside of Sparta, every Greek except for the Persians and Barbarians from warrior, women, and child has been brought fourth for Atreus's funeral including Themistocles, Aeskylos, Scyllias, and Calisto who had been brought from land of the underworld given permission from Calliope who asked Hades to bring him back to visit Atreus's funeral for helping Themistocles defeat Xerxes. The pyre has been set while the Goddesses including Freya remained on the left side holding torches as Greek Gods did the same on the right side. Norse Kratos walks stright to the pyre holding Atreus's body while passing each god while Lysandra, Faye, and Calliope follow him from behind. Norse Kratos puts Atreus's body on the pyre gently.
"You are free, my son." Norse Kratos says softly. He looks to right and sees Calliope next to him as Greek Kratos handed him a torch. She steps forward and kisses Atreus's forehead and replies with a smile and a tear, "Find peace, my brother."
Calliope stepped back let her father have space to start the pyre. The pyre is set as everyone remains silent while the flames take over. The story of Atreus and his accomplishments will live on throughout all of time. Everyone began to yell the name Atreus over and over again in his glory. The son of kratos, the Spartan child, the slayer of Ares, the bringer of storms. God of justice, strength, rage, power, and honor. The slayer of Choas, and the warrior that saved all of Greece was now finally free at last.
