Chapter 11 finally ready, sorry it's been so long, I've been really busy with work and honestly just haven't been motivated to write at all. But I finally got a little spare time and decided to get another chapter out, it not my best. I've rushed a little through this chapter trying to cover everything that happened at the end of season 3 so that I could get back to the Buffy/Klaus action! Anyways hope you enjoy it.
Buffy stood in Elena's kitchen drinking a hot tea, it was the day after they had desiccated Klaus. Damon was on the road to dump Klaus's body, Stefan had returned to take care off Elena. After the events of the day before she had been rushed to hospital with a serious concussion, she was home now and Buffy, Stefan, Jeremy and Matt where there to watch over her. Buffy stood daydreaming when a knock came from the front door. It was Elena that had made it their first but they all froze when they say Elijah on the other side.
He took a step forward into the house and addressed Elena.
"Am here to collect my brother's body." He spoke calmly but Buffy could see the coldness in his eyes.
"Klaus is long gone." Stefan walked and stopped beside Elena.
"Am here to make a deal, and its a deal for Elena. So listen carefully. You hand me Klaus's body and I will take him, me and my family we will leave town. We'll scatter, Rik will come for us, try to find us but he never will." Elijah continued to look at Elena.
"What's going to stop Klaus from coming back to get his revenge?" Buffy asked taking a step forward.
"Give me his body, and I wont wake him in Elena's life time or your children's life time, perhaps it will teach my brother some manners." Elijah spoke softly.
"And Rebekah?" Elena asked.
"Kol and Rebekah will honour the deal." Elijah sighed and spoke again "He's my brother and we remain together." He finished.
Elena nodded her head "Okay" She answered, and looked towards Stefan who looked down sighed and pulled out his cell to call Damon and tell him to turn around.
Elijah and Stefan left together, the plan was for Damon to stop at a storage unit on the highway and meet Rebekah to hand Klaus's body back over to the Original family. Buffy had stayed behind with Elena and Matt. Buffy stood pacing in the living room, while Elena and Matt sat on the sofa drinking their tea.
"This will soon be over." Matt broke the silence and Elena sighed.
"Yeah." She sighed.
Buffy looked over and sat on the coffee table.
"What is it?" She asked Elena.
"Its just when this is over, I know am going to have to pick one." Elena sighed and Matt looked on confused.
"Damon and Stefan?" Buffy asked and Elena nodded her head.
"Who will you pick?" Matt asked.
"I don't know." Elena looked down at the floor and sighed once more. "Stefan, he saved my life, I never told anyone but the night my parents car went over the bridge he saved me."
"You feel like you owe him?" Matt asked.
"No, after the accident he made me feel alive, and you should be with the one that makes you glad to be alive." Elena smiled.
"So what's the problem?" Buffy asked.
"Damon's the problem, when am with him. He consumes me. I know its wrong to love them both and I know if I pick one I'll lose the other, and I cant lose anyone else." Elena sobbed a little and sunk back into the sofa.
Buffy sighed and looked down she wasn't sure what to say, but she felt a pang of guilt go through her when she couldn't help but think of Klaus. She felt them same, when she was around him he consumed her and she knew it had been wrong to feel anything towards him but she had known that something had been between them and she had been afraid to admit it to herself and now it was all to late and all she was left to feel was guilt.
Buffy looked and noticed that Elena had passed out, she gave a confused look to Matt.
"I put something in her tea." He said guilty.
"You did what?" Buffy was shocked.
"Am getting her out of here, its not safe. Just for a few days out of town." He spoke quickly.
Buffy nodded and agreed it was probably for the best, she helped Matt get Elena into the car, and she watched as they left.
Buffy walked into the woods to met Stefan and Elijah, she wanted to make sure everything was going to happen smoothly for once. When she arrived Stefan smiled towards her glad she was there. They remained in silence for a while before Stefan's phone began to buzz.
"Everything okay?" Stefan asked.
"What?" Stefan looked down.
"Okay, yeah I'll go meet her."
"You too, Brother." Stefan sighed and hung the phone up, and faced Buffy and Elijah and shook his head.
"What happened?" Buffy asked, she knew something was wrong.
"Klaus he's dead." Stefan said looking towards Elijah who said nothing.
"Rik found them, its over." Stefan said defeated.
"Stefan, if Klaus is your blood line." Buffy started but Stefan cut her off.
"I know, we don't have long, I have to get to Elena." Stefan said urgently and Buffy nodded her head.
"Go" Buffy urgently back and with that Stefan was gone.
Buffy stayed with Elijah for a while, they stood in silence until Rebekah turned up, she was in tears and marched towards her brother.
"He gone Elijah, there's nothing I could do to stop it." She sobbed and hugged her brother.
Buffy left and made her way home. When she arrived she sat back on her sofa and stayed their staring at the floor. She felt numb she was losing a lot of her friends tonight and she couldn't do anything to stop it.
1 MONTH LATER
Buffy had finished her class for the day and walked outside, it was warm and bright and Buffy smiled it had been a nice day, it had been a normal day for once and Buffy had learned to take full advantage of those good days.
The past month had been hard for everyone, Elena and Matt had been forced off the Wickery Bridge by Rebekah in her revenge for her Klaus's death she had blamed Elena. Stefan was late to the scene but had saved Matt's life on Elena's instruction. She had not been so lucky, she had not made it out of the car and Elena had drowned that night. Everyone had been shocked to learn that Meredith had given Elena vampire blood when she come in with her concussion, so when Elena had died she didn't stay dead for long. She had returned as a vampire and she was finding it very difficult. She and Stefan had got back together and he had been helping her survive and control her urges, they had been hunting animal blood but still Elena had been having a had time and was clearly struggling with the transition.
They had all found it strange they had survived after Rik had killed Klaus with the dagger, they all assumed they would follow him, but after Elena had died and in doing so ended Rik's life they had learned that Bonnie had intervened to protect them and had performed a spell to transfer Klaus's essence into Tyler's body, soon after things had settled down Bonnie returned Klaus essence into his own body and Klaus had left town without a word to anyone. Buffy had not known about the spell till after she had learned he had left town, but when she found out she remembered breathing a sigh of relief, he had left town and she was free to forget about him.
Buffy walked down the campus remembering all that had happened the past few months, it had been hectic but with the original's gone things had finally started to calm down, she had been enjoying her classes and studying hard while find time to train, she smiled things were going well for now.
"And what would you be smiling at?"
Buffy heard a deep voice from behind her as she felt a heavy arm drape around her shoulder, she looked up and smiled towards him.
"Its such a nice day, am glad to escape classes for the fresh air." Buffy looked up into the clear sky, she put her arm around his waist and snuggled closer to him. She had met Riley a few weeks ago and they had hit it off, they began dating and Buffy found her self really liking him. He was funny and really sweet, didn't hurt he was really cute too. He was much taller than Buffy and was broad with muscles in all the right places, she loved hanging out with him, he was good company and although they were taking things slow Buffy found her self liking him more and more, she liked the idea that she could have something normal in her life she smiled at the thought and then sighed when she Damon approaching.
"Hey, Think I can borrow you for the rest of the day?" He asked Buffy eyebrows raised.
"Really, I just finished classes." Buffy sighed.
"Its important." Damon said in seriousness.
"Fine." Buffy said annoyed, she turned to Riley "I'll see you tonight?" Buffy asked.
"Of course, I'll meet you at the grill." Riley smiled and leaned down to give her a slow kiss. They parted when Damon grunted, Buffy rolled her eyes giving Riley one last kiss she left with Damon.
"So what's so important?" Buffy asked.
"I've set a trap for the hunter, and who knows a vampire hunter better than the slayer." Damon smiled.
"What do you expect me to do, I wont let you hurt him." Buffy said adamant.
"I just want information, once he meets you, he might be a little more forthcoming with the information." Damon wiggled his eyebrows and Buffy rolled her eyes at him.
Buffy and Damon walked into the hospital and waited down one corridor, the plan was to wait till Jeremy lead Connor the hunter into the storage room, once their Buffy and Damon could question him. Buffy sighed she hated waiting, it was then she stood up straight all hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she felt a shiver. She spun round and was shocked to find Klaus staring intensely at her. He didn't gave her his trademark smile, or no witty charming line. Instead he turned to Damon.
"Are friend here yet?" Klaus asked.
"Just waiting on Jeremy." Damon said in response.
"What are you doing here? Buffy finally managed to spit out.
Klaus turned back to face her and took a step forward.
"Am here for a vampire hunter." He spoke softly but was deadly serious and Buffy wasn't sure if her meant he was here for Connor or for her.
