Silver Ronin
Hidden Moon– 'Sorrowful Spears'
And out came the obake in the form of a young boy…
"Touga," A sudden wash of red and evil halted all merriment within the small hut; a frozen glow of heated eyes burned though the thin doors, plastered to the back of us all, "It…this presence is like that of an evil creature, it's malice and lust for blood…" Sesshomaru; who'd also gone silent upon feeling the nearing evil, had made for the door, acting as if this was an event that occurred on a daily basis.
"So, he's going to attack it?" I asked as the prince in white wrapped his hands around his father's black blade. Touga simply shook 'yes', and we two ushered ourselves quickly through the back. Whoever was out there wanted us – before we two stepped into the elderly back room, filled top to toe with dust, I looked back to Sesshomaru.
He was unsheathing the katana slowly, taking an almost lustful look at the bloodstained blade.
I saw his tongue trace the sharp edge before Touga pulled the shutter closed.
…..
"I am not here for you," A young boy swung his sickles almost lazily circle as he was met by Sesshomaru instead of the one he'd come to kill, "Where is the Silver Ronin? I was told he dwells in this rubbish heap," The Prince in white did not utter a word, he starred only at the brown haired assassins sickles with an intrigued spark in his golden eyes, "Could you possibly be mute? Or deaf even?" The boy approached casually, almost making it past the prince – swosh! In that moment did he jump back.
The mute prince had caught the scent of copper. He tried hard to contain his outward excitement as the brown haired assassin starred down the prince in white who'd easily shown that he'd skill with a sword. The black blade in his hand wasn't for show, "We'll, i'm slightly impressed by your draw," Both sickles were held tightly in the assassins' hands, ignoring the thick red streak rolling down his cheek - his only focus on the being before him who blocked his entrance, "My Master has given me the name of Kohaku, one of the two 'Demon Siblings of the North', I'm sure you've heard of u-"
"That sickle," After a long awaited time, Sesshomaru spoke, "It is made from bones..?"
"A silly question from an awkward man," Kohaku proudly gained a swift stance, balanced on both sides with his sickles ready, "They were made from the very bones of one of my victims."
"I see," Sesshomaru's attention was now on the drying red, stuck to the cheek of the killer, "I've always wanted my own pair…my own pair of sickles-"
With that Kohaku charged. To the depths of his core, he felt frightened – an emotion he usually lacked. With the flick of his arm did the sickle fly, wrapping quickly around the left arm of the prince who only starred momentarily before swiping his sword down on the second sickle that came to meet his face as the first was pulled in by Kohaku, who in turn, twisted himself at an angle to avoid the black blade that swept past his knees – the prince was going for his legs. He took quick note of this and did his hardest to avoid the seemingly fast sweeps that came along quicker and quicker.
Sesshomaru advanced on the killer as Kohaku could do little more than defend. Then, finding an opening, Kohaku slashed the prince's chest, leaving a trail of blood seeping in its wake.
"I've always wanted to make my own sickles, much like your own…but I never have the right material," Kohaku jumped back, wincing when putting pressure on his right leg, he spotted an open gash above his knee, the man in front of him was trying to cut off his legs…in the brutal hack- slash – hack fashion, "But with the bone of something 'evil', I should be able to make them, nice and well…"
Kohaku was met with bloody red eyes.
He froze for a second and lost an arm.
In that moment did he run – he ran away from the junky hut and back to his Master through the back alley. He needed to warn them of the monster allied with the Silver Ronin that the Poison Spiders might have not known of.
While he ran, Sesshomaru stayed. Picking up the limp appendage from the dirt, covering his face and trying once again to hide the sick excitement he got when around the scent of blood – he only hoped that it wouldn't drive Kagome away from him, "Speaking of which, I should find them…and probably hide this…"
As he stuffed the bloody arm into his hakamas, the sister of the retreating assassin followed in the shadows, hoping that the man in white would lead her to the Silver Ronin soon.
Little did she know he'd seen her.
