"Baby girl, come here. Guess who wants to talk to you."
Serena dropped her princess and the frog doll and ran toward her mother.
"Hello!"
"Hi Serena!"
"Annie Livia" Serena squealed as she held the phone closer to her ear.
When Serena was finally able to talk, Olivia tried to get her to say 'aunt' instead the little girl world mummer out 'annie' and it stuck.
"I heard you are feeling better." Olivia said calmly.
"Yup. All better now annie."
"Well I am very happy to hear that. Me and uncle Fitz is happy to hear the good news."
"Is unca fiz still your boyfriend?" The little girl asked making a face toward her mother, Lisa chuckled and nodded. Olivia couldn't help but smile and laugh herself.
"Yes, uncle fiz and I are still together and we will see you and your mommy in a few days."
"All going to calihorna!" She yelled.
"That's right we are all going to California. Well I will see you later okay butterfly? Put mommy back on the phone. I love you."
"I love you too annie Livia."
Serena handed her mother the phone and Lisa took it.
"So are you excited about going to the family gathering?" Lisa asked as she played with one of Serena's pigtails.
"Yeah. I mean I'm sure it will be good. It's I don't know, different."
"I know it is. I was shocked when she called me and asked me to come. Apparently she's reconnecting with everyone."
Olivia's heart began to beat faster.
Is she dying?
Noticing the long pause, Lisa chimed back in.
"I'm sure she's alright Olivia. Don't over think it."
"I'm not over thinking." Olivia said a little too defensively.
"I know you girl, you over think everything. Everything is fine. Keep calm and keep smiling."
"I will."
"Your break is almost up so I will let you get back. Love you Liv."
"Love you too Lisa." Olivia hung up the phone and stood up from her seat. She stopped by Starbucks to get veinte peppermint mocha she had being dying to get a hold of. She held onto her cup and boosted her purse up on her shoulder. She notice an old couple sitting at a table near the exit, holding hands across the table. She smiled at the the couple and instantly missed Fitz. As she walked out of the door and headed down the street, she took in the air, it was a good day. Olivia looked down at her watched, checking the time to make sure she wasn't late.
Still twenty minutes to spare.
The walk to her office was nothing but five minutes, so she decided to slow down and truly take in the fresh day. She pulled out her phone and called Fitz.
"Hi beautiful." His smooth baritone voice rang from her phone to her ear.
"Hi handsome." She replied, not able to hold back the smile she was now showing off.
"How are you? Where did you go for lunch"
"Good. I went to Starbucks and just got a peppermint mocha."
"Yum. And did you pick me up anything?"
Olivia bit her lip before she gave her response.
"No. Did you want one?"
"You know that's not what I want." He said in an even deeper voice.
"I'm not sure what you are talking about Fitz?" She had to take a sip of her drink to keep her laugh in.
"You are such a tease. I bet you are wearing the turquoise lace set I left out last night."
"Yes I am. You did good." She said in a husky tone that made his ears heat up.
"How about you stop by and let me check out my work."
"Nope. Not at all flyboy. You still have six more hours of hard work."
Fitz grunted loudly and sunk further in his chair.
"You will be the death of me."
"That's fine, as long as you don't die on top of me." Olivia said with a throaty laugh.
"Not funny Olivia. I'm going to take 1000 ways to die off of your DVR."
"You wouldn't."
"I wouldn't. Go inside baby. I will see you when I get off."
"Okay. I love you."
"God I love you so much more Livvie." Olivia smiled and hung up. Fitz looked at his phone and smiled. He closed his eyes for a minute and thought about what Olivia had said
Just six more hours and I can go home. I wonder if she wouldn't mind take out tonight.
Fitz thoughts were interrupted as his secretary opened the door.
"Mr. Grant."
"Yes Savannah?" The woman was twenty-seven but often acted like a nervous thirteen year old girl. She was short with blonde hair and green eyes that hid behind her glasses. She was really nice to Fitz even when she looked like she was about to burst into tears at the sound of his voice.
"Uhm. I told her she needed to schedule an appointment but she wouldn't listen. I'm really sorry sir I tried, I even-"
"Bring her in. It's okay Savannah." She shook her head and left out to get the woman who refused to leave. Fitz sat back as he reached for a folder on his desk.
"Little girl you have a lot to learn. When someone tells you to do something you do not give in. I could be a serial killer her to kill Fitz." Savannah's eyes widening as she realized how much she needed to grow up and stop being so fearful of everything with a pulse.
"If I need an appointment, you need to say that affirmatively and if me or anyone else tries some foolery you threaten to call security or go ahead and put it in action. Are we clear?"
Fitz had long gone put the folder back on the desk. He stood up by the door listening to the entire exchange. He knew that voice from any where.
"Yes, yes ma'ma."
The older woman threw up her hand "No. Do not stutter with me. Are you afraid of anyone? I'll finish with you after I speak to Fitz." Savannah watched her open the door and disappear into Fitz office. She walked quickly to her desk to resume to her previous duties.
"Fitz."
"Verna, what a surprise."
Verna and Fitz closed the space between them and exchanged hugs.
"Have a seat please. What brings you here. All the way here I might add." Fitz sat down and leaned forward clasping his hands together.
Verna sat down and crossed her legs after sitting her Prada bag on his desk.
"I was actually in New York visiting my daughter."
"Rachel. How is she?"
"Being mother Teresa. Still can't believe my child, my own flesh and blood opt out to be a preschool teacher. Still racks my brain but she is my daughter and it makes her happy. Fitz, I'm not going to play games with you." Verna said looking directly at him.
"Well I would hope not."
"I figure you know who sent me."
"Of course, non other than the devil himself."
"Actually you are wrong. Your mother sent me." Fitz forced himself to breath in and out. Something that became extremely hard when he was talking about his family.
"What for."
"She's worried about you. She says she hasn't heard from you in a year and you are her only son and she needs you to talk to her the whole nine yards. You know Darlene is full of dramatics."
"I know she is and I'm sorry that she has to suffer my absents but as long as she is tied to that- that man, I can not keep in touch with her."
"Fitzgerald. You are only given one father and one mother. I know you don't give a rats ass about Big Jerry, but your mother loves you and she's worried. A year Fitz? A year with no letters, phone calls or visits. That's even a new low for you." Fitz rolled his eyes and refolded his arms.
"She misses filling my head with the b.s. he feeds her. I'm only being used when I am dealing with them and I am done with that. I am finally at a point in my life where I am happy and I am free from the chokehold of a ruthless bastard like him. You know him Verna, you've known him longer than I have, you know exactly how he is. And I can't believe you would come here and try to give me a come to Jerry meeting as if everything is fine or will be fine. I'm done with him. I want to be governor one day but on my own terms."
Verna sighed and reached for her purse. She pulled out a Manila folder and held it in her hands. Fitz hands became sweaty and stared at her and the package.
"What is that."
"It's the reason why you will run for governor sooner than you think."
"Verna."
"Fitz. You were born to this family. You were born into this Grant lifestyle and you cannot get out until you are nothing but maggot food six feet under. It sucks, it's terrible but there are rules to everything and you must obey them. I know you didn't ask for this but it is what it is, this was decided before you were even born. Long before that actually. I feel for you Fitz, I really do because just like you, I went through the same thing with my family. But that's just how things are sometimes." Verna said sincerely sorry that he had to go through this.
Verna handed him the package and stood up, collecting her purse.
"If you need anything you can call me at any time. I'm sorry Fitz." Verna walked out of the office leaving Fitz to read through his discoveries. He threw the manilla package on the floor and walked over to his window.
This can't be happening.

Olivia made it to Fitz house before he did. She ended up getting off at 3:30 instead of 5. She decided to start dinner and wait for him to get home. She knew he would be exhausted and wanted to cater to his needs. Olivia looked through the kitchen and huffed when he didn't have any food.
Really Fitz?
She thought to herself. Olivia grabbed her purse and keys and headed to the store. Fitz had finally convinced her to buy a car. She complained saying that she didn't need one but after seeing the Black BMW SUV, she knew she had to have it. Olivia hated grocery shopping but between her and Fitz, someone had to do it. She entered Whole Foods trying to think of a good dinner to cook. She honestly didn't have a clue what she was going to cook but maybe roaming around first would spark up ideas. Olivia passed a pack of pasta and decided to make chicken Alfredo. Her stomach started to growl and she picked up the pace.
Chicken Alfredo and what else? Uhm how about beer bread and strawberry salad? Oh and pound cake for dessert? Hell yeah that sounds good.
Olivia went through the aisles looking for the items she needed. After a few minutes all she needed now was feta cheese. Olivia turned the corner and her phone began to ring.
"Hi baby."
"Hi Livvie." Fitz said trying his damnest to mask his sadness.
"What's the matter? You sound funny. What happen?" She asked parking the buggy next to a bag of assorted nuts.

"I have to stay late. I won't be home till 8 or 9."

Olivia knew that something else was up. He had to work over sometimes so she wasn't upset and knew he wasn't either. She ignored it and promised herself to ask him again when he got home.
"Okay that's fine. Don't eat anything I want to order take out."
"Perfect. I love you Liv."
"I love you too Fitz. Now get back to work so you can come home and see me."
"Thanks for the painful visual baby." He said chuckling softly.
"I aim to tease. See you later babe."
"Mhm. Can I have a kiss?" He asked in a child like voice.
"Yes. Mwauh."
"Mwauh. Olivia."
"Fitz hang up the phone."
"I miss you."
"Good bye Fitzgerald." Olivia hung up the phone and giggled to herself.
Okay feta cheese. Not feta cheese. Not feta cheese. Not feta cheese. Bingo. Feta cheese. Olivia reached for a pack and threw it in the buggy.
Olivia looked at all of the items and mental checked them off of her list. Olivia walked toward the line. And waited behind someone.
Shit. I forgot bananas.
Every morning she had to have a banana. Her day couldn't be completely started without it. She pushed the buggy around and back to the fruit section. Olivia checked the different bananas and made sure the ones she chose were ripped.
"Olivia."
Olivia proceeded to put her bananas in the plastic sack and turned around toward the check out line.
"Olivia wait."
Olivia continued to walk toward the line pretending as if she heard nothing. She looked down at her watch
Oh good I have plenty of time to whip up dinner and clean up a little.
"Can you please stop walking and let me talk to you."
Olivia stopped behind a man as a woman in front of him checked out her last item.
"Olivia stop this childish game."
Olivia jerked her head around and glared at him as if he was the devil himself.
"What on earth do you want from me Bentley. Are you stalking me now? I can have you thrown in jail." She said hastily.
"Olivia no, that is not what I'm doing. I came to pick up a few things and I saw you talking on the phone."
Olivia could feel the blood rush to her head. She could hear her heart beat pounding in her ears.
"Stay. Away. From. Me."
"I can't. I want to apologize."
"Apology accepted. That was years ago we have both moved on and grown since then. You have your little girl and wife and I have Fitz. Forgiven. Now leave me alone." Olivia stepped forward as the man emptied his buggy onto the conveyor belt.
"I didn't marry her. I couldn't. Not after what I did to you." Olivia let out a cold laugh.
"How noble of you."
"Olivia I messed up really bad with you. If some guy did that to Nayla, I don't know what I would do. I'm terribly sorry."
"I heard you the first time. And let me say this again. Forgiven."
"You are still mad at me." He said looking at her trying to look into her eyes but Olivia did not give in.
"I'm frustrated that you won't leave me alone. You can't just keep cornering me like this."
"The first time was not my plan. I didn't know you were going to be in the store shopping for your child with your boyfriend."
Olivia knew what he was doing. He was trying to play the victim. Olivia had moved on and had a 'baby' with a man that was not him. He was still the same screwed up pig.
He and Edison must be related
The man in front of her left and Olivia started to put her things on the conveyor belt.
"Hi how are you."
"Great and yourself?" Olivia asked the check out girl. Olivia almost lost her mind when Bentley reached down and tried to help her.
"No." She bit back at him. He threw up his hands.
"Is this all for you?"
"Yes that will be all."
"Okay that will be 30.26." Olivia took out her card and the girl finally looked at Olivia's face.
"Olivia?"
"Yes." She answered cautiously.
"It's me! Amber! Remember you and your boyfriend helped me get my car started one day." Olivia paused and studied the girl until the light bulb in her head went off.
"Oh my goodness hi!"
The teen laughed and smiled showing off her teeth.
"Hey! I knew it was you I was a little unsure at first but glad I was right. That would've been embarrassing."
"Oh no not at all. How are you?"
"I'm doing good. I got a new battery so no more jumper cables for a while." She said brightly.
"That's good. I'm glad to hear that." Olivia was about to swipe her card when Amber covered the machine.
"I've got it Olivia." She said smiling at her.
"Oh no sweetie I can't let you do that."
"Yes you can. I will pay for it. I owe you."
"No you don't. Fitz and I were in no hurry that day it was no problem helping you."
"Thank you have a nice day. Would you like your receipt?" Olivia stood there dumbfounded by the girls boldness.
"No you can keep it." She said collecting her bags.
"Have a great night Olivia. Tell Fitz I said hello!"
"I will. Bye Amber and thank you."
"Not a problem. See ya."
Olivia pushed the buggy out of the store and remembered the pest was still behind her.
"So you and your boyfriend are the towns couple."
"I'm about two seconds away from calling the police on you. Go home! You have a child. Go take care of your kid. Stop trying to win me back. I don't want you. I'm done with you. I've washed my hands from you a long time ago. That girl you want is out there but it is not me." Olivia grabbed her bags out of the buggy and loaded them into her car. Bentley shook his head and threw up his hands.
"Alright. I just wanted to say sorry Olivia. I will always love you."
Olivia went back to ignoring him and pushed the buggy into one of the cart slots. Olivia got in her car and backed out hoping he was standing directly behind her. She cut the radio on and let the music drown out all of the shenanigans that had just took place.

Fitz walked in and instantly smelled the aroma of a home cooked meal. He took in the smell and sighed.
"Livvie." He called out. Instead sky ran toward him.
"You're not my Livvie. But I guess you will have to do.
"Liv. Baby where are you?"
Fitz bent down and pet sky on the head. Olivia emerged from the bathroom and smiled.
"Hi sexy." She said swinging her hips as she made her way to him.
"Hi gorgeous." They hugged each other and made a soundly kiss.
"Dinner is ready."
"I smell. You tricked me."
Olivia walked toward the kitchen and heated his plate up.
"I know. I had to surprise you a little bit." She said turning slightly over her shoulder.
"Well I'm grateful for this. You are amazing."
"Thank you. You aren't to bad yourself." The microwave timer went off and she took the plate out of the microwave and placed it in front of Fitz.
"You spoil me too much baby."
"I like spoiling you." She said kissing him on his cheek. Olivia made herself a plate and heated it up. She finally joined Fitz and they began to eat and talk about their day.
"I had to help this new guy. He was absolutely terrible. He had no idea how to do anything. He will most likely stay in that little cubicle for the rest of his career."
"Baby not everyone can be like you."
Olivia rolled her eyes and sipped her wine.
"Shut up. This is stuff we learned how to do in law school. He honestly made me question if he had even went to school." Fitz chuckled and bit a piece of the beer bread.
"And you?" She asked not looking up at him.
"Oh today was okay. This is amazing baby."
"What is that I smell?" Fitz sniffed the air and put the piece of beer bread down.
"Smell what?"
"I smell bullshit! Fitz what happen today?" her voice was higher than usually and he knew it was because she was aggravated
Fitz sighed and sat his hands away from the table.
"Verna Thorton came in to visit me today."
Olivia quirked up and eyebrow.
"Who?"
"She helped my dad with a lot of things. She's was one of the best lawyers out there in Californian. She was appointed judge in Malibu. She came in and told me why I had to run for governor now."
Olivia's breathing slowed down and she continued to look at Fitz.
"It's a contract. Something that my father signed years ago. Saying that if he has a son, the son must run for governor and eventually for the White House." He didn't sent to tell her everything that it said but he figured that would hold her. He just couldn't bare to tell her what all the contract detailed.
"That's ludicrous if I ever heard such a thing."
"I know baby. How do you think I felt when I looked at the shit myself. I thought I was done with him." Fitz said now looking down and folding his arms. Olivia stood up and walked over to him. She squatted next to him but he reached for her hand and pulled her into his lap.
"I don't get it. I don't think I will ever truly get your family and how they operate. But one thing is for sure I am not going anywhere. You need me and I need you so whatever you face, we face it head on together. I'm not scared of your family and I know you aren't either but if you say that you absolutely have to move forward with your election, then so be it." Fitz looked up at her and caressed her cheek.

"How are you real. I swear you amaze me everyday Livvie."
"I ask myself the same question. Come on, I'll run you a shower."
"You will run us a shower." He said trying to look in her shirt.
"Nothing is down there for you." She said holding her arms over her chest.
"Lies told by Olivia. All of this is mine." Olivia laughed and he picked her up.
"Show me everything." He said as he finally made it to their bedroom and laid her on the bed.
"Right away Governor Grant."

"Fitz! Can you grab my panties and bras please!" Olivia shouted from the living room. She was reading over some statements for one of her cases. Fitz begged her to stop working and just continue packing but she was so tenacious about finishing.
"Yeah, I got it." He yelled back as he grabbed his shaving kit and put it in his suitcase. He double checked his belongings before he started on packing Olivia's things. His iPod was blaring from the ihome and he whistled along to the Motown tunes. He didn't mind packing for Olivia so he took his time deciding what he thought she would want to wear and of course what he wanted to see her in. He opened the drawer to the right and pulled out her panties and bras. It stumped him that she had so many but just figured she bought them over last night. Aretha Franklin stopped singing and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell started to sing.
Ain't nothing like the real thing, baby
Ain't nothing like the real thing
Ain't nothing like the real thing, baby
Ain't nothing like the real thing

Fitz smiled as he let the words slide out of his mouth, he continued to sing with them.

I got your picture hangin' on the wall
It can't see or come to me when I call your name
I realize it's just a picture in a frame

I read your letters when you're not near
But they don't move me
And they don't groove me like when I hear
Your sweet voice whispering in my ear

Ain't nothing like the real thing, baby
Ain't nothing like the real thing

I play the game, a fantasy
I pretend I'm not in reality
I need the shelter of your arms to comfort me

Olivia smiled as she heard Fitz singing. He knew that all of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's duets were her favorite and his as well. She was almost done and didn't want to loose focus so she went back to reading.
Fitz walked in the closet and began to choose her outfits. He quirked up his eyebrow and moved the clothes to the left side.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven... Is she?
"Olivia!"
Olivia read the last three sentences and closed the file and sat it on the table. She stood up and stretched before moving to the bed room.
"Livvie!"
"I'm coming!"
What the hell does he want know?
Olivia reached the bedroom and Fitz stood outside of the closet with his hands on his hips.
"Baby. Are you?" He stammered out looking at her as if she had just accepted his proposal.
Olivia shook her head and stepped forward.
"Yes. Yes I am moving in." Olivia grabbed his hands and pulled his body into her.
"Baby I thought you wanted some time to think about it more." He asked as she poked her lips out for a kiss.
"It's been a week. I am ready to move in with you. I'm sure." She said kissing him again with great force.
"Good. Once you enter you can't get out." He said smacking her ass.
"I'm aware of that. And I'm not going anywhere."
Olivia and Fitz finished packing the rest of her things after everything was double checked and rolled their luggage down to the car.

"Oh look at my babies. Back to see me again so soon?" Mama grace asked as she led them into her home.
"Yeah, Livvie's mom planned a get together for this weekend."
"Oh that's good. You two have a good time glad you two stopped by to see me."
"You know we could never come her and not stop by to see you." Fitz said trying to avoid looking her in the eye. He knew if he did she would know something was wrong.
"Olivia how is being a lawyer going?"
"Great. I love it. Really nice people I'm working with."
"Excellent. Sweetheart. Olivia can you do me a favor? Could youngo upstairs and look in my closet. I have something for the both of you. You will know what it is once you see it. I labeled them."
"Sure." Olivia said standing to her feet and walked toward the staircase, going up and out of earshot.
"Stormy. What's going on." Mama grace said without missing a beat.
She cleared her throat and Fitz looked up at her.
"It's your father isn't it? Mmhm it is." She said letting out a deep sigh.
"There is a contract. He drew up a contract years ago for me. He mapped out my life and then stamped it with a seal." He said letting out a soft chuckle.
"I can't win against him."
"Nuh uh. Don't you dare say that stormy. You will son, it's part of being related to them. It's out of your hands but at the same time, you can break the cycle. How do you think your father turned out the way he is today? Your grandfather Fitz. Do you want your sons to go through that?" Fitz shook his head before he gave her an audible response. "Never want them to go through that."
"Then play by his rules but do it your way. I can only imagine what is listed in that contract." Fitz lowered his head and slowly looked back up at her.
"Don't worry about Liv. She's a strong woman and she will understand. Have you told her yet?"
"Yes. I told her last night."
"Good. Don't hide anything from her. No matter how bad you think it is do not hide anything from her, you hear me?" Fitz swallowed the lump in his throat and decided that he would read the entire contract to her when they got home.
"Yes ma'am."
"Mhm. It will be alright. Everything will be alright."
"Are these it?" Olivia asked as she walked into the living room.
"Yes. That's what I wanted to give you two."
Olivia held the cook book and gave Fitz the box.
"Thank you mama grace."
"Hush now you don't need to thank me. I heard how you are always cooking up something for stormy so I decided to give you some of my recipes."
Olivia bought the cook book up to her chest and smiled.
"This can't be." Fitz said as he opened the box.
"My old airplane. How did you ever get this?" He asked grazing his fingers against his old toy.
"I kept it after your father was about to throw your toys away. I took the bin and bought it home with me. I have a more somewhere in the attic. I recently got it polished up. One of the kids found it and starred playing with it. I said I better fix this up for my boy. "
"Thank you mama."
"Your welcome stormy. Might want to pass it on to your son." Olivia and Fitz glanced at each other and Olivia began to blush.
"I'm just pulling your chain. I want you two married first and then bring me a grand baby."
"We will make your dreams come true one day mama. We got to get going but we will see you once more before we leave."
"Alright. Have fun."
"Love you."
"Love you too." Fitz hugged mama grace and Olivia moved over to hug her as well.
"Love you mama grace."
"Love you too Livvie. Take care of yourself baby and my stormy."
"I will." She said as she let her go.

"Help yourself everyone. I don't mind at all that's why I made it for everyone can eat." Tara said talking to her family.
Olivia got out of the car and Fitz followed her into the house. She heard people talking and followed the voices until she and Fitz were in the backyard. It was a lovely set up, tables and chairs were set up, there was a table full of food and drinks, an area were kids played tag and even a dj. Olivia felt a little nervous as the people past her and she couldn't recognize them. She was sure she had met them but couldn't remember them.
"Livia! You made it. Hi honey!" Tara said hugging Olivia and kissing her twice on her head. "Hi Fitz! Good to see you too!" She hugged him and he kissed her on the cheek.
"Come over her I want you to meet some of your people." Tara said grabbing Olivia's hand and taking her to a table.
"Fatima. This is Olivia." The older woman stood up and closed her hand with her mouth. She was around the same height as Olivia and her hair was in a low bun.
"Oh my God. Little Liv." Fatima said grabbing her hand.
"She's not so little anymore." Tara chimed in smiling at her daughter as if the sun and moon rose because of her.
"You are absolutely beautiful Olivia. I am your aunt Fatima. I'm your mother's baby sister. I was around until you were eight but I went off to the service. After I came back I lost all connect with Tara. I can't believe it's you." She said holding out her arms to hug her. Olivia hugged her aunt and closed her eyes briefly.
"I remember you. You had a son and a daughter." Olivia said beaming with happiness.
"Yes! This your cousin Rylie and Harrison." Fatima said pointing to the two people behind her.
"Hi. Olivia." Rylie said hugging Olivia.

"You were a baby when I last saw you. How old are you now? Olivia asked

"15."

"Wow. you are beautiful."

"Same to you Olivia." Rylie said smiling at her big cousin.
"Hey I'm Harrison." Olivia hugged him as well and her eyes grew wide.
"Oh my goodness! Harrison! You look so grown up!" Olivia said bringing him in again for a hug.
"How old are you now?"
"19."
"I barely recognized you!"
Harrison smiled showing his pearly whites.
"Remember when I was four and you decided you wanted another sibling so we took all of the eggs out and you made me sit on them?"
Olivia threw her head back and the memories started to pour into her mind.
"Yes! And you sat down too hard and cracked them I said you killed my siblings!"
"Yeah I thought I was a murder at four." They all laughed and Fatima eyed Fitz.
"And who might this handsome man be?" Olivia turned around and touched his hand.
"This is my boyfriend Fitz." Since Harrison was the closest, he extended he his hand out Fitz first.
Rylie was next and then Fatima.
"It's nice to meet all of you."
"Likewise Fitz. Oh Olivia your daddy would've liked him." Fatima said cracking a smile. Olivia nodded and smiled at Fitz.
"Annie!" A voice yelled from behind her.
"Butterfly! Hi baby girl!" Olivia said picking the three year old up.
"I mesh you annie." Serena said kissing Olivia.
"Oh I've missed you too. I love your shirt."
"It kitty." She said smoothing her hand over the hello kitty printed on her shirt.
"Hi Serena." Tara said leaning to wave at her.
"Hello!" She said waving back.
"Fiz! She shouted reaching for him to grab her. Fitz took the little girl out of Olivia's arms and held her.
"Hi Serena. How are you?"
"Good!" She yelled shaking her head side to side.
"Fatima this is Serena, Lisa's daughter."
"Hello." Lisa said walking up to the group.
"How are you doing Lisa?"
"Fatima? Oh my! It's been so long."
"It has indeed you look great."
"Thank you, you do too! You haven't changed at all." Olivia roamed around and met cousins, aunts and uncles she hadn't seen since she lived in Georgia. The gathering was more than she could've dreamed of. She now had contact numbers for her family members that she thought she would never see again. Olivia was thankful that her mother collided her side of the family and her father's side together. It made her feel good to know that her mother was honestly trying to do better. Not just with her, but with everyone she had intentionally forgotten about. The day went by quickly and the family all left to go to their hotels. The next day they planned on going out to the beach. Olivia sat on the couch slowly rocking a sleeping Serena. Fitz sat next to her watching an old episode of Law and Order SVU. Lisa and Tara were watching it as well, dosing off every so often until Lisa got up.
"Alright I'm beat. I'll take her Olivia. See you all in the morning." Lisa said sending her good nights to everyone.
"I'm headed that way too. I can't keep my eyes open to save my life. If you need anything help yourselves. Goodnight Livia. Goodnight Fitz."
"Goodnight." Olivia and Fitz said in unison. She smiled and went upstairs.
"It's been a long day." Fitz said dropping his head to her chest.
"Yes it has. It was good to see everyone though. It's been so long." Olivia said playing in his hair.
"I'm glad. It was a lot of fun." Olivia stayed silent and Fitz spoke again.
"I love you." He felt her chest rise and fall and knew that she was asleep. He got up and picked her up, carrying her up the stairs to their guest room. He pulled off her clothes and put on her pajamas. He pulled the covers back and placed her right in front of him. His arms wrapped around her waist and he snuggled into the crook of her neck.
"Night Livvie."
Olivia responded with the soft sound of her snores. He grinned and kissed her ear.
