Henry and Elizabeth decided to finally tell their families about the baby considering that Elizabeth was slowly starting to show. It wasn't much, but Henry was too excited to hold on to the news any longer. Elizabeth had also told her boss, Conrad Dalton, the news earlier this week after running out of a meeting with him when she was hit by a wave of nausea. Fortunately, he took it with humor and was very understanding. On Friday night, after having dinner and packing their stuff, their were sitting in bed and Henry was showing Elizabeth different possibilities for his PhD on his laptop. Sometime during the week, Elizabeth had told him that she was on board after looking into their financials and since then he had spend a lot of time looking into different universities near by.

"Oh hey, listen, I called Will today." Elizabeth said while putting body lotion on her arms.

"You did? How did he take it?" Henry put the laptop away and focused on his wife.

"He was really surprised, because he thought that we were going to wait for at least a couple of years. But when I told him that it was an accident, he just started laughing. I think he is really excited to become an uncle. Will wanted me to congratulate you as well." She had finished with her arms and leaned down to continue with her legs, but Henry took the lotion out of her hand.

"Here, let me help you." He massaged it into her legs and she leaned back against the headboard. "It's so Will to laugh at us about this. But I'm glad he's happy for us. Now that that's done, it's just my family left. I hope they're not going to freak out. I'm kinda nervous. I mean I haven't seen them for almost a year." He admitted while moving on to massage her feet.

"Don't worry. They are going to be so excited to see you! And if they don't take it well, they are going to let it out on me anyway. You know how they are!" Elizabeth exclaimed unhappily.

"Yes, I know how they are. And I promise, I won't let them get to you. If my family doesn't want us to have a baby yet, that's their problem! Besides, I don't think they are gonna give us crap. Okay, yeah, Maureen maybe, but my mum always wanted grandchildren." He looked at Elizabeth who had her eyes closed and looked like she had fallen asleep.

"Babe? Are you awake?" He whispered and stopped massaging her feet.

"What are you doing? Don't stop! Pleeeaassse." She immediately opened her eyes and looked at him pleadingly. Henry chuckled and continued rubbing her feet.

"We should get to sleep. It's late and we have to leave early tomorrow morning." He suggested.

"No, just one more minute..." Elizabeth begged and he resumed, not daring to say no to his pregnant wife.

The next day, they arrived in Pittsburgh during lunchtime. Elizabeth had been sleeping the whole time during the car ride. Henry was glad she was catching up on all of her missed sleep since she needed all of her energy for work and the baby. Parking in front of his parent's house, he leaned over and peppered kisses all over her face.

"Babe, wake up. We're here." They grabbed their bags from the trunk and walked to the entrance where Henry's mum was waiting for them having them spotted through the window already. They greeted everyone with hugs and kisses and soon everyone was gathered around the lunch table. Henry's mother had outdone herself once again, there was plenty of food for everyone and Elizabeth was more than glad that her nausea was getting less and less with each day. Everyone was focused on Henry and bombarding him with thousands of questions since they hadn't seen him in such a long time. Of course, he had written letters and also called his parents from time to time, but there was still a lot to catch up on. Elizabeth knew that it was partly her fault for them not seeing him as much since Henry had spend most of his time off in Washington with her and not in Pittsburgh. Catching her gaze, Henry gave her a questionable look knowing that something was on her mind, but she flashed him a smile and waved it off. When dessert was served, Patrick McCord proposed to celebrate Henry's by return by having a glass of Advocaat for everyone. He filled a glass for everyone, but when everyone was drinking theirs, Elizabeth inconspicuously gave hers to her husband. Maureen, who sat across from her, had to make a comment of course and everyone's attention was on them.

"Elizabeth, are you feeling alright?" Henry's mother wanted to know.

"O yeah, I'm fine." Elizabeth didn't know how to explain herself and looked at her husband quizzically. He nodded and took over for her.

"Actually, we have some news for you." Henry began and suddenly it was eerily quiet in the McCord household. He intertwined hands with Elizabeth and continued. "We are expecting a baby." A goofy grin spread over his face and his mom immediately jumped out of her chair and came running over to their side of the table to congratulate them with a hug.

"I'm gonna have a grandchild soon!" She exclaimed happily. Everyone else congratulated them as well and Elizabeth was glad everything ran down so smoothly until she heard Maureen's comment.

"That's kind of unexpected don't you think? Didn't you just come back 4 weeks ago?" Maureen said her thoughts out loud.

"That's right. I'm already in my fourteenth week of pregnancy. It wasn't exactly planned that way, but we couldn't be happy." Elizabeth defended herself. Maureen snorted and addressed her brother directly.

"Are you really happy about it? Seems to me like you're stuck now." She asked skeptically.

"How can you say that!? Of course we are happy. We're having a baby." Henry couldn't believer her right now.

"I'm just saying, you just came back and now you're going to have to raise a child..." Maureen tried to defend herself, but their mom interfered and stopped them.

"I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we're all very happy for you. And I promise you, I'll try to help out as much as possible. But for now, I'll need some help cleaning up. Maureen, do you mind doing the dishes with me?" Maureen grumble something unintelligible but got up and went into the kitchen to follow her mum's request. Elizabeth turned to face Henry and he just shrugged.

"That went better than expected. Everyone knows now, it's official." He smiled at her before leaning over to kiss her. "I love you."
