I'm back! Did you miss me? Sorry about how long the breaks are in between each chapter. I had a string of electronic and personal troubles that kept me from updating this. And I may be a bit rusty so please try and withstand any grammar errors or sloppy writing. My writing will improve the more I type. And I am not giving up on the story and won't unless I say otherwise. Well, enough with trivial matters, ON TO THE SHOW!
…
After waiting around Tsukune for about an hour, his condition improved enough for him to be moved to the infirmary. His bleeding had stopped and his breathing became steady. He regained some of his complexion and was no longer a ghastly white.
His wounds had been properly tended to and his face cleaned up. Akasha and Fuhai had even managed to change him out of his tattered clothing and into a medical gown. Mizore had found the nurse and the two hooked Tsukune up to a breathing machine as well as an IV. The machines at his bedside monitored his pulse and blood pressure so his status could be kept track of. Everyone had done all they could do. Now all they could do was sit and wait for Tsukune to regain consciousness.
…
The sound of waves rolling onto the shore softly echoed throughout the room. A gentle ocean breeze blew through the insect net that surrounded the bungalow. The sun was just rising above the horizon and cast a peaceful golden glow upon island.
Tsukune's mind was active; however he refused to open his eyes. He just basked in the glory of the paradise around him. Tsukune wished he could remain in the paradise forever; completely devoid of any troubles and conflict.
Tsukune sensed movement beside him but remained motionless. The figure beside him crawled up against him and latched onto his arm, placing it between two large mounds. Tsukune blushed when he realized just where his arm was being held captive. He clenched his eyes shut slightly as to try and pretend to still be asleep, but to no avail.
"Don't be like that. I know you're awake." Moka sexually whispered into Tsukune's ear.
This caused Tsukune's eyes to dart open and turn to gaze at the beauty beside him. They gazed into each other's eyes for what seemed like an eternity; just smiling and lovingly gazing into each other's eyes, which lead to the depths of their souls. Tsukune placed his right hand lovingly on Moka's cheek and gently rubbed her cheek with his thumb. This caused a healthy blush to form across Moka's face as she placed her hand atop of Tsukune's and smiled even bigger.
"I wish I could stay like this with you forever, Moka." Tsukune said as he kissed her forehead and smiled even bigger. Moka then swiftly straddled Tsukune and placed her hands on both sides of his head. She gazed down at him as Tsukune tried his best to gaze at her face instead of her naked form which was illuminated by the sunrise. Moka leaned forward and rested her forehead on Tsukune's and hovered her lips above Tsukune's. She brought them closer and closer and then spoke.
"I know, Tsukune. But you have to come back. You can't stay like this. You have to come back."
"What do you mean, Moka? Back where?" Tsukune asked.
"Come back. Come back. Come ba…."
Suddenly, the world around Tsukune went dark. The ground beneath him gave out and he was now plummeting into a seemingly endless abyss. The only sound was Tsukune's screams as he fell.
As he fell, images flashed before his eyes. He saw himself as a young boy between the age of 8-10. He was standing between two kids who were much bigger than him and a stray dog that seemed to have been beaten by the two larger boys. Tsukune was trying to stop them, but ended up getting beaten up by the two boys, but had saved the dog. Kyoko had found him with the dog sitting next to Tsukune, licking his face.
"What happened, Tsukie?!" the young Kyoko asked.
"Two bullies were kicking the dog and I tried to stop them." Said the young Tsukune, who had a swollen lip and a black eye.
The scene faded just as quickly as it had appeared. Tsukune now saw himself in middle school. He was holding a love letter and had mustered up enough courage to deliver it to the girl who he had a crush on all year. He was walking in the hallway and saw her by her locker. Swallowing hard, Tsukune started to walk towards her when he was stopped abruptly by two boys who towered over him.
"Where do you think you're going Aono?" said the smaller of the two boys.
"None of your business!" Tsukune exclaimed.
"What is this?" the larger boy snatched the letter from Tsukune's hands. "A love letter eh? Why don't we give it a read?"
"Give that back!" Tsukune shouted as he attempted to retrieve the letter from the larger boy's hands. The larger boy just shoved Tsukune to the ground violently and began to read the letter out loud. Every student in the hallway heard as the boy read the letter aloud. When he finished reading, all of the students began laughing, including the girl who Tsukune had written the letter for.
Tears began to form in Tsukune's eyes, and he got up and ran down the hallway and out the front doors as the kids continued to laugh.
Once again, the scene vanished and Tsukune continued to fall into darkness. It took a little while for the next scene to appear, but this time it wasn't from when Tsukune was younger.
This time, Tsukune saw his bloodied body lying motionless with all of his friends surrounding him, just like he had seen in his dreams. This time, he was able to hear what everyone was saying. He heard them say things about prophecies, monsters and Tsukune saving the world. This made Tsukune even more confused than he already was. He tried to reach out and touch anyone's shoulder, but as his hand neared Akasha's shoulder, the scene vanished and Tsukune resumed his plummet into nothingness.
However, this time was different. As Tsukune fell, a light glowed from below and the further he fell, the brighter the light got. Tsukune fell and fell and quickly became blinded by the light. He covered his face with his arms and kept screaming.
…
Akasha, Fuhai and Mikogami were sitting in the waiting room of the infirmary discussing what their next course of actions would be due to the threat that had introduced itself. They needed to form a defense plan in case Akua or anyone else who had malicious intentions attempted to attack them. It was mutually decided that Tsukune could no longer be kept with Fuhai and Fong-Fong in the human world. He needed to be somewhere that offered him an increased wall of protection while still being close to one of the dark lords. It was decided, that Tsukune would attend Yokai Academy and be under the watchful eye of Mikogami, Yokai's head master.
"I will start the paperwork immediately upon my arrival back at the academy," said Mikogami.
"Thank you Mikogami. I would watch over him myself, but I can't even seem to be able to watch over my own daughter, let alone a human teenage male." Akasha said, slightly depressed.
"Don't worry Akasha. I will also be going to Yokai Academy with both of my disciples. I can't simply hand over my strongest disciple to my rival now can I?" Fuhai said with a light chuckle and a sharp glare at Mikogami.
"Of course not, old friend. And I'm happy to hear that you will be coming as well. Yokai can always use more staff," Mikogami retorted with a mischievous grin that rivaled Fuhai's.
"How gracious of you, you manipulative old creep." Fuhai was clearly not thrilled about this stipulation.
"You're very welcome, you short 2-dimentional pervert," replied Mikogami. At that, the two were face-to-face with their yokai flaring.
"Now now, you two. Can we please refrain from fighting while there are children around?" Akasha said pleadingly. Technically there were children present, however Fong-Fong, Gin, Mizore and Kurumu were all asleep as it was about 1:30 am.
Without warning, Tsukune could be heard screaming from inside one of the recovery rooms. Those who were asleep were instantly woken and those who weren't had any dreariness vanish instantly. Everyone dashed into the room to see Tsukune being given a sedative by the nurse and that he was sweating profusely.
As the sedative began taking its intended effect, Fong-Fong brought his friend a glass of water which Tsukune downed in seconds. It was clear that Tsukune was not in good health.
"Ugh, why do I feel like I was hit by a train?" Tsukune groaned as he sat upright. He then looked around the room and saw that everyone's face was painted with concern. Did something happen?
As Tsukune sat there, he attempted to recall what had put him in the infirmary in the first place. It wasn't Moka, he remembered that much, but how did he get such major injuries? He tried recalling what happened after his match with Moka had begun. Suddenly, images of short, skinny girl with black hair tied up in pigtails. He saw her standing on top of what looked like a dragon. Like the opening of flood gates, Tsukune's memories of the past few hours all came rushing back to him. He remembered everything, including what Akasha, Fuhai and Mikogami had said about a prophecy and monsters.
Tsukune attempted to blurt something out, but before he could even make another sound, Fuhai placed a swift chop to the base of Tsukune's neck, knocking him back out.
"Fuhai-sensei! Was that really necessary?! Tsukune finally woke up! Why did you knock him unconscious?" Fong-Fong demanded an answer from his uncle.
Gin, Mizore and Kurumu also demanded an answer to Touhou Fuhai's surprising actions. However, Akasha and Mikogami each nodded towards Fuhai in understanding.
"Sorry children, but Tsukune needs to rest for a bit longer." Fuhai said.
"But that doesn't explain why you hit him to do it! We could've just left the room and let him sleep!" Kurumu beamed towards the elderly otaku.
"Unfortunately that wouldn't happen. Tsukune's subconscious remembered the conversation that us dark lords had while we were surrounding Tsukune in the arena. It would be impossible for him to fall asleep on his own and would demand an explanation to it. Not only had he heard us talking about monsters but also the prophecy in which he has a key role in." These words were what Akasha offered the teenagers who all started to understand why Fuhai did what he did. Well, for the most part anyway. They agreed that the explanation about the monster world wouldn't be something they could just pass off very easily, but what was this about a prophecy that involved Tsukune and what did it have to do with monsters?
"What prophecy? What does it have to do with Tsukune and the monster world?" Mizore asked in a cold, monotone voice.
"All will be explained in due time children. You will find out about it when the new semester at Yokai Academy begins." Everyone turned to Mikogami with looks of annoyance, disappointment and confusion, but did not dare to question their headmaster.
….
It was now morning and Tsukune awoke to see that his room was vacant besides himself. He also felt a million times better than when he woke up in the middle of the night. 'That's odd. I don't remember when I laid back down to sleep some more.' Tsukune thought. He remembered waking up in the middle of the night screaming and sweating and then his friends and peers came rushing into the room. The next thing he remembered was what caused his injuries and the conversation that Akasha, Mikogami and Fuhai had in his dreams. Tsukune figured Fuhai had knocked him unconscious sensing this. 'What are they hiding from me? Whatever it is, I'm about to find out.'
Tsukune swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood. He made sure he securely tied his hospital-like gown and exited the infirmary. He was careful not to wake the sleeping Mizore who was sleeping in a chair by the door.
Tsukune carefully began to make his way back to his room that he had been staying in for the duration of the tournament. Every time Tsukune would hear someone approaching, he would hide either around the corner or in a nearby room. After about five to ten minutes of sneaking around the complex, Tsukune reached his destination. He slid the door open enough to squeeze through and quietly shut it behind him.
"Good morning Tsukune. Care to join us for breakfast?"
Tsukune was startled and turned to see Fuhai sitting at the table with Fong-Fong, enjoying a breakfast that consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, toast and a variety of fruits.
Tsukune was thrown off by this that he had almost forgotten why he had come here in the first place. "Fuhai-sensei, I have a few questions I want you to answer truthfully for me." The look in Tsukune's eyes showed that there was no way of avoiding this. He was determined to find the answers to his questions.
"Come over here and sit down Tsukune. Fong-Fong, would you mind giving us some privacy?"
"Of course. Glad to see you're ok Tsukune. Excuse me." With a bow, Fong-Fong headed off towards the bathroom.
Tsukune walked over to the table and sat down beside his sensei. However, when he looked at his master, Fuhai had a very serious and dark demeanor about himself. Tsukune started to feel like he had brought up a subject that he shouldn't have, but he had to get his answers.
"S-so, Fuhai-sensei, i-is there anything that you've been hiding from me? S-something that you didn't want me to know?" Tsukune inquired.
"Yes there is, my boy, however I cannot give you the information that you seek just yet. You see, there is something else that I must speak to you about right now. You see, Akasha, Mikogami and I had a long conversation and have decided to transfer you out of your current school and enroll you into a new one."
"W-what?! So suddenly?! B-but it's so sudden! Where are you enrolling me? Do I have to move? How am I going to pay for tuition?! I was only able to attend my current school due to the chairman being an old friend of my parents and he let my tuition slide!"
"Fret not, my pupil. There is no tuition for the school you shall attend and your belongings are being transferred as we speak. You shall be living on campus at a private school that isn't too far from here."
"A private school that doesn't have tuition? That can't be right. Are you secretly paying for my tuition?"
"No, boy. The school you shall be attending is under my care." Tsukune turned to see Mikogami standing in the doorway with Akasha standing behind him.
"Please come in," Fuhai said.
The pair entered the room and joined Tsukune and Fuhai around the table. Fuhai poured each of them a cup of green tea and the conversation resumed.
…
"A school for monsters?! Are you serious?! You've got to be kidding. Monsters aren't real, right?" Tsukune said, flabbergasted at what Mikogami had told him about his new school, Yokai Academy.
"I'm afraid not, Tsukune. Monsters do exist but blend in with humans in an attempt to peacefully coexist with one another," Akasha said as she placed a gentle hand on top of Tsukune's.
"I-if that's true, then what kind of monsters are the three of you?!" Tsukune just blurted out the question and felt bad for asking it, but he was just so confused that he couldn't hold it in.
"I'm what's known as a Yasha. I can transform my body into smaller sizes and various animals. I also have the ability to summon powerful animal-like monsters from a hidden dimension." Fuhai said.
"I am a Kishin, or a demon god. My species, as you can probably assume from its name, specialized in brute force and destruction. I personally have a strong talent for sealing spells," said Mikogami.
"A-and you Akasha?" At this point, Tsukune became afraid to even be in the same room as these three, let alone at such a close radius.
Akasha gently turned Tsukune's head to face her and gave him a warm smile, which lifted Tsukune's spirits slightly. She kept smiling at Tsukune as she revealed the race of monster that she belonged to. "I'm a vampire." Akasha then allowed her fangs to elongate and she opened her mouth to show them to Tsukune, to prove that they weren't lying.
However, once Tsukune had seen her fangs, he became light headed and passed out.
….
When he came to, Akasha, Fuhai and Mikogami all began to explain the transfer as well as any other questions about monsters that Tsukune had. They also explained to Tsukune what type of monsters his friends from the tournament were.
"Um, one last thing. By chance, is there some weird prophecy that I'm involved in?"
Everyone was silent for a moment, but then Akasha spoke. "Yes. However, now is not the time for you to learn of it. It is far too early for you to concern yourself with it. If you were to learn of it, it would become a heavy burden on you that would inhibit your growth and day-to-day life."
Hearing this scared Tsukune to death and he nearly passed out once more. *GULP*
"Don't worry Tsukune. Once we arrive at the academy, you have the remainder of the day to unpack and explore the campus. Summer break doesn't end for a few more days so you shouldn't run into anyone who may want to kill you." Mikogami said as he offered Tsukune an eerie smile.
"K-kill me?! Why would they want to kill me?!"
"You see, some monsters do not wish for a peaceful coexistence with humans and think of themselves as higher beings. And as such, these species of monsters tend to eat, enslave, or kill any human that they come across." Akasha said this with a sad tone and her eyes staring at the table.
Tsukune was instantly scared of those species, but it appeared to affect Akasha greatly.
"Akasha, you seem like you greatly wish for a peaceful coexistence, am I right?" Tsukune asked.
This seemed to catch Akasha by surprise, but she replied, "Very much so. Actually, I'm one of the biggest advocates for coexistence. However, I am one of the only one of my kind who wishes for such a future. The others all feel like we should enslave them and use them for a food source since our only source of blood is transfusion packs from a blood bank, animal blood or the blood of other monsters. To vampires, live human blood is a delicacy." Tsukune could tell that Akasha was greatly hurt by the situation within her race. So, in order to comfort her for a change, Tsukune gave Akasha a light hug, which startled the vampiress for a second. Akasha then hugged Tsukune back and a stray tear descended down her cheek.
"You know, I'm not sure how long it's been since I hugged even my own daughter like this. It feels so nice." Akasha said as she held Tsukune tighter and cried a little bit more.
The four sat there like that for a few minutes before finishing up the transfer papers and packing the belongings that they had on hand for the trip to the academy.
….
Once everyone was packed, the group gathered out front of the castle-like structure. The group consisted of Tsukune, Fuhai, Fong-Fong, Akasha, Mikogami and Gin.
"Um, Mikogami, sir, where are the rest of the students you brought to the tournament?" Tsukune asked, curious of where all of the other kids had gone.
"Oh I sent them home after they lost. You see, they volunteered to come here during their summer break. Once they lost, they were free to enjoy the remainder of their summer break however they wished."
"I see," was Tsukune's response. "W-wait! But what about Moka? Where did she disappear to? I haven't seen her since our fight."
"My daughter said that 'she was bored and wanted to leave'. You see, she's someone who loses interest in things quickly unless they involve violence." Akasha informed Tsukune. Upon hearing this, Tsukune didn't say a word. "She wasn't always like that, however," Akasha continued.
"Oh? What did she used to be like?" Tsukune asked a bit more eagerly than he intended it to sound. Akasha found this to be cute and giggled slightly which caused Tsukune's face to grow a healthy shade of red.
"Well she used to be a sweet girl who, while she did enjoy fighting, also enjoyed dressing up and having tea parties with her blood sisters. You see, she has a younger sister Kokoa and an older sister Kahlua. The three of them used to spar together and enjoy a relaxing bath and tea together afterwards. It wasn't until Issa, Moka's father, adopted Akua that Moka changed. As soon as I sensed this change in her, I sent her to Mikogami to watch after her. I had hoped that, with her out of the castle and away from Akua, that she would revert to her old self but that plan seemed to backfire and she's been growing colder and colder each year." When Akasha had finished her brief story, a small tear trickled down her left cheek. When Tsukune saw it, he instantly regretted prodding into Akasha and Moka's past yet again.
"Forgive me. I had no idea," Tsukune bowed and apologized for poking at a touchy subject. He wasn't someone who gossiped or pried for information for fun. While he did like to learn more about people, he never wanted to cause someone to grieve to any extent when he asked.
"Don't worry about me Tsukune. You didn't cause this. I was just thinking of how happy the girls were when they were kids," Akasha said in attempt to comfort Tsukune.
"Looks like our ride is here," Fong-Fong pointed out with excitement. Everyone picked up their bags and headed towards the curb. When Tsukune saw their ride, he couldn't help but sweat drop. It was the same bus they had ridden all week. 'Why am I not surprised?'
The bus approached with great speed and then slammed on its breaks and came to a screeching halt in front of the group. The door opened and the smell of cigars practically punched Tsukune in the face. He couldn't help but let out a few coughs due to inhaling too much of the smoke.
"How's everyone doing today? Pile in quickly. I have a schedule to keep," the eerie bus driver said while holding a freshly lit cigar. The group did as they were told and quickly got onto the bus and seated. "You comin' kid?" the bus driver asked Tsukune, who was still standing outside of the bus stunned due to the 'punch' from the cigar smoke. "Huh? O-oh, yea." Tsukune picked up his duffle bag he had dropped and stepped onto the bus. "Glad to see you're alright, kid," the bus driver whispered to Tsukune as he passed by.
Tsukune hurried to a seat and sat down behind Fong-Fong and in front of Gin. They sat towards the back left of the bus, with three vacant seats behind Gin and two vacant ones in front of Fong-Fong. Fuhai sat directly behind the bus driver and Mikogami sat in the seat across the aisle from him. Akasha sat behind Mikogami but was close enough to Fuhai to smack the two of them in case they started fighting.
"I'm so excited to attend Yokai Academy! I've wanted to go there ever since I was a kid, but my parents wouldn't let me go. They wanted me to train to take over the family business instead. I've been home schooled my whole life, but now I get to live on campus of the famous Yokai Academy!" Fong-Fong was having trouble staying in his seat due to his obvious excitement.
"Would you calm down? If you ask me, it's not all that amazing. Aside from the smokin' hot babes, I'd say Yokai was just as boring as any human school," Gin said with a sigh.
"I bet you couldn't be more wrong, you pervy wolf. All you think about is women. I bet you don't even have a girlfriend. I mean, what girl would willingly go out with someone so perverted besides a succubus. Then again, the succubus would have to choose you out of dozens upon hundreds of men they have under their control. So if you think about it, I bet there isn't a girl alive who would date someone like you," Fong-Fong said, mocking Gin.
"What'd you say?! I'm the most popular guy on campus when it comes to the ladies! I be you're just mad that you look so much like a girl and that you're jealous of my striking good looks," Gin said in response, leaning over the seat in front of him and nearly on top of Tsukune.
"Ha! Who would ever want to look like you?! You look like some wild mutt that has to dig through the trash for his meals!"
"You wanna step outside and have another fight?! This time, however, you won't get off as easy as a concussion!" Gin growled.
"ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU JUST SHUT UP AND GET ALONG!" Tsukune yelled, obviously reaching the peak of his tolerance level. Hearing their friend snap like that shut the feuding monsters up. Once the two quieted down, Tsukune let out a sigh and began to watch the scenery pass by. The three dark lords couldn't help but laugh at the three teens in the back.
….
After a half hour drive, they had finally arrived at their destination: Yokai Academy.
"Alright, everyone out. I have to pick up a bridal shower of snow women and I still need to put on my snow tires and my snow clothes."
Everyone quickly exited the bus, with Tsukune bringing up the rear. As he went to step off the bus, the bus driver grabbed Tsukune's arm and stopped him. Tsukune turned towards the bus driver confused. "Stay safe kid. That's one scary ass school you're going to." The bus driver let go of Tsukune's arm and gave him a little shove off of the bus. Tsukune stumbled, but was able to keep himself from falling. When he righted himself, he finally got a good look at the academy. His first thought: 'I've finally died and gone to Hell.'
….
Mikogami felt it was his duty to give Tsukune a tour of the campus so he started with the dorms. The buildings were severely worn out and run down. They were a dreary gray with moss and vines growing up them. There were various sized cracks, some small, but most big. Tsukune was surprised people lived in these things. They looked like they might collapse if the wind blew hard enough.
Tsukune was shown to his room. It was on the second floor and was the next to last door on the left. Luckily for him, he had no roommate. As Tsukune checked out his new living quarters, he noticed that all of his belongings from his apartment were all there. His pants and shirts were hung in his closet; his underwear and socks folded in his dresser and even his secret stash of racy magazines were placed under his bed. He may live alone, but for some reason Tsukune felt like he needed to hide the magazines out of a sort of 'teenage habit'.
Tsukune was given time to unpack his belongings he had taken to the tournament and make any room adjustments to make his stay more comfortable. After about ten minutes, Tsukune exited his room and locked it with the key Mikogami gave him when they arrived at the room. Tsukune made a mental note while walking out of the building on how many steps it took him to get to each corner, how many steps there were and how many steps it took him to get out the front door of the building. He was hoping he would never need to use that information, but he wasn't going to take any chances in this school for monsters.
Mikogami was waiting at a nearby tree and continued Tsukune's tour of the campus. Tsukune was shown the main building in which most of his classes would be, the various outdoor facilities such as the track and pool, and was being led to the gym as their final destination. The gym was about half the size of a professional NBA arena. Tsukune was astonished by its size, but quickly figured that it had to be this size due to it being a school for monsters. As Tsukune was looking around the massive gym, Mikogami was receiving a telepathy call. (phone call, but in the mind)
"Hello? Ah, my new assistant has arrived? Send her into my office and I'll be there shortly."
"Is everything ok?" Tsukune asked.
"Everything is fine. I have hired a new assistant to help me deal with things and she arrived. Why don't you take a look around the gym some more. You are free to go back to your dorm room whenever you like. Classes start on Tuesday which is three days from now so please enjoy your stay until then. Your schedule will be delivered to you on Sunday and freshman move in on Monday. You are more than welcome to find out the exact room your classes are in on Monday so you are prepared for classes the next day. Now if you'll excuse me, I have an assistant to break in, I mean train." With a mischievous grin, Mikogami exited the gym.
'Well I guess I'll look around some more. Might as well check out the locker room and maybe pick out one for me to use for the semester.' With that thought in mind, Tsukune walked through the locker room doors. Much to his surprise, the locker room was kept pretty clean. Sure it was a bit dusty from a summer of not being used, but there weren't any locker doors falling off of their hinges and there weren't any toppled over. All of the benches were in one peace and none were splintering. Tsukune sat down and let out a sigh of relief. For the most part, the school seemed just like any normal human high school.
After a few seconds of silence, Tsukune heard running water. He thought he was the only one there. After all, the new semester didn't start for another three days. Curious, Tsukune made his way towards the bathroom area where the sinks, toilets and showers were. He first checked the sinks and none were running. Tsukune had made the assumption that one of the faculty who arrived early left one of the showers on. Being the good person that he is, Tsukune decided to go turn the water off so the school's water bill wouldn't be as massive as its gym.
As he neared the showers, he took off his socks and shoes to keep them dry and attempted to find a light switch. With no such luck, Tsukune figured he'd rely on his sense of hearing to find the shower that was left on. He carefully made his way through the dark shower room and headed towards where he heard running water. As he got closer, he began to smell the scent of the soap and shampoo that the person had used. They must've used it earlier that day. Tsukune was so close he could feel the water moving at his feet. Just a few more steps and he would be there.
As he took his next step, Tsukune ended up stepping on the bar of soap the person left behind. In an attempt to brace himself for his imminent fall, Tsukune placed his arms out in front of himself. His plan was to catch himself with his hands when he fell forward. But that never happened.
As Tsukune slid forward, he bumped into something and accidentally knocked it over. There was a crashing sound as they fell over and the sound of gushing water could be heard. Tsukune had apparently bumped into the shower hard and had broken it. He could tell because his right shoulder felt dislocated and the side of his head throbbed. His head had clipped the showerhead and was now bleeding slightly. As he groaned, he attempted to push himself up with his left hand, only to find it hard to get a good grip. He moved his hand back and forth, attempting to get a better grip. What he found odd was that the floor didn't squeak when he moved his hand. It sounded more like a low, guttural growl than a squeak. Tsukune didn't dare open his eyes to see exactly where he was. He had heard that sound before. He knew EXACTLY where he was.
Forgetting about his dislocated shoulder and the small gash in his head, Tsukune jumped backwards with all of his might and ran out of there as quickly as he could. He had managed to make it back to the main room of the gym before his pursuer caught up to him. Just as his worst fears had thought, it was Moka. She was wearing towel around her body and her wet, silver hair clung to her shoulders.
Moka didn't say a word. Her eyes and the pink aura wafting around her said it all. Tsukune was going to die right then and there. Tsukune gulped, and accepted his fate. After all, from what Mikogami, Fuhai and Akasha had told him, there was no way he could ever hope to out run her or defend himself if Moka was using her vampiric abilities. This was it; Tsukune was going to die in the gym of a school for monsters. If someone had told him how he would die a few days ago, Tsukune would've thought they escaped from an insane asylum.
Moka was now about fifteen feet away from Tsukune and he began bracing himself for his immanent slow and very painful death. He just wondered what would happen first: his death or his nervous system stopping due to sensory overload. Suddenly, a bright white light radiated from between the two. When the two opened their eyes back up, Mikogami was standing between the two.
"My, my. What do we have here? Are two of my students getting frisky on my campus? That simply cannot do," Mikogami said in a teasing voice.
"N-n-no! O-o-of course not!" Tsukune stuttered. This caused Mikogami to grin.
"This bastard dared to grope me while I was taking a shower and ended up breaking the herb filtered shower in the process! This idiots luck has run out and now it's time someone showed him his place: THE AFTERLIFE!" Moka roared as she attempted to lunge forward and rip out Tsukune's throat with her right hand.
However, the only thing she got a fistful of was air. Both Tsukune and Mikogami were gone, with no trace left behind. Moka let out a roar of anger and stormed into the locker room to retrieve her clothes.
…..
"That was close, wouldn't you say Mr. Aono?" Mikogami asked as he walked behind his desk.
Tsukune stood in what appeared to be the chairman's office. He was completely dumbfounded. One second he was in the middle of the gym and now he was standing in front of Mikogami's desk.
"Don't look too confused boy. Not only can I create sealing spells, but I can also create small dimensional pockets in which to travel through. The two are actually more similar than you'd expect." Mikogami folded his hands together and leaned back in his chair. Tsukune nodded like a mindless puppet and sat down in a chair behind him.
"So, I see you managed to anger Miss Akashiya. And much sooner than I had anticipated."
"W-what do you mean?" Tsukune asked.
"She wasn't aware that you would begin attending Yokai Academy. Fuhai, Akasha and I agreed that it would be best that she not find out until the new semester had started."
"W-why is that?"
"Because if she were to find out that a human were to attend this school, she would attempt to kill said human without a second thought. However your daring actions have gone above and beyond angering her. The next time she sees you, she will kill you in the blink of an eye. Which, of course, is why I brought you here."
Tsukune gulped and just let Mikogami talk.
"You see, humans are not able of harnessing magic like monsters can. However, Fuhai has trained you in a way in which your body has formed channels in which energy flows throughout it. Few humans are able to do this and it takes them years of training in order to form them completely. These channels function the same way that the magic circuits within us monsters work. Humans use Ki while monsters use magic. The two are similar, but also very different. You see, with magic, you can do many miraculous things that Ki cannot. All Ki is able to accomplish is to harden and strengthen the body and muscles."
Tsukune sat there as Mikogami continued a long speech about the similarities and differences between magic and Ki.
"U-um, Mikogami, sir, what does all of that have to do with Moka wanting to kill me?" Tsukune said, interrupting Mikogami's speech.
"Oh I am very sorry. You see, I have created a limiter of sorts that will allow you to inhibit Moka's vampiric abilities to a certain extent. It is one that has been designed to run off of Ki and reject any magic that is introduced to it. All you do is focus your Ki into it through your hand and have it make contact with Moka."
Once again, Tsukune didn't know what to say, but he attempted to speak anyway. "W-will it work on any monster that tries to attack me? And will it harm Moka if I use it?"
"That is very considerate of you to consider Miss Akashiya's wellbeing. It is also very naïve and stupid. She is trying to take your life. If she suffers a bit of pain through you defending yourself then it will be a good lesson for her," Tsukune looked shocked and hurt and was about to speak before being interrupted, "-but it will not cause any physical harm to her. The extent of its effect would be to cause her to faint for a few minutes due to the sudden draining of her powers. As for working against other monsters, it will not. It will only work against Moka and those who share her blood."
"I see. Well, I thank you so much for helping me!" Tsukune bowed and graciously took the limiter from Mikogami. Tsukune examined it in his hands. It was about four inches long and was sterling silver. It was in the shape of a cross which Tsukune found funny since vampires hate crosses in horror movies. The oddest thing was a giant, well polished cats-eye ruby in the middle of where the cross intersects.
All of a sudden, the door flung open with such a tremendous force that caused dust to fill the room. Too much dust had gone up Tsukune's nose and he started uncontrollably coughing. Once the dust cleared, Tsukune saw Moka standing in the doorway. The pink aura had vanished but her eyes were still full of hatred and bloodlust. She slowly approached Tsukune like a lioness stalking its prey, and Tsukune was the first gazelle the lioness had seen in days.
Tsukune held out his new defense tool towards Moka and this caused her to stop and look at it intriguingly.
"I see you gave the human a line of defense from my wrath, old man." Moka said in a rather calm voice, despite her clear murderous intent.
"Of course. We can't have one of our students killing one another, can we?" Mikogami asked the vampiress.
"STUDENT?!" Moka yelled.
"Yes, student. Tsukune will now be attending Yokai Academy. All of the paperwork has been completed, processed and approved. Would you like to see it? I think I have it around here somewhere." Mikogami was now toying with the young vampire and she could tell. Instead of argue with the chairman, Moka turned back to Tsukune who was attempting to sneak out of the door.
Tsukune froze when he felt Moka's gaze hit him and he turned to see her walking towards him. Once again, Tsukune held the limiter out towards Moka and started to channel his Ki into it.
"Relax. I can tell that nothing good will come of that coming into contact with me so I'll behave myself; for now. Just remember where you stand and stay away from me. Chairmen, when shall the new herb filtered shower be installed?"
"I hate to be the bearer of bad news Miss Akashiya, but there won't be a new one installed. After all, you are the only vampire enrolled in Yokai Academy," Mikogami said with a grin.
"WHAT?! Then you shall have a personal bath installed into my room immediately!" Moka demanded.
"I'm afraid I cannot do that. Due to the structure of the dorms, renovations such as that cannot be done as they would cause the buildings to collapse," 'I knew those buildings weren't very stable!' was what Tsukune thought upon hearing that, "however there is one dorm room on campus that has a private bath attached to it."
"Then you shall transfer me to that room and kick whoever it is out. They can have my room after I move into theirs." Moka said with a flip of the hair, not even looking at Mikogami. If she were, she would've seen the giant, mischievous grin grow on Mikogami's face. Tsukune was able to, and knew that something bad was about to be said.
"I cannot do that either. You see, the room is in the boy's dorm and the room is currently inhabited by Mr. Aono." Tsukune gulped and his knees began to tremble.
"How in the hell do you expect me to bathe then?! I have to have water treated with various herbs due to its purifying properties. You should know this very well, chairman!" It was clear that Moka was not a happy camper.
"Well if you asked Mr. Aono if you could borrow his private bath nicely, I'm sure he would be happy to accommodate you."
Moka didn't even have the energy to keep up the argument with Mikogami. She just turned to Tsukune and got within inches of his face, "You WILL let me use your bath, you will tell NOBODY and you shall do so whenever I please." Moka then took her finger and wiped it along the gash on Tsukune's head. She then licked the blood off, making sure to expose her fangs. "If only you weren't a conscious being. Your blood is too good to be wasted on someone like you." And with that, Moka left.
"Well, Mr. Aono, I hope you enjoy your time here at Yokai Academy." Mikogami gave Tsukune his signature grin before vanishing behind another burst of bright light.
"What did I get myself in to? I just hope I survive my time here let alone enjoy it. It's been a long day. Might as well go back to my room and test out that private bath before Moka monopolizes it for herself." Tsukune then headed off towards the dorms to enjoy his long, hot soak that would be his first, and probably last, in that private bath.
…
AND CHAPTER 11 IS FINISHED! Again, sorry for such a long wait. I've had a string of horrible luck these last few months (both personal and electronic) and am going to try and get this story jumpstarted back in action! Like I said previously, I will NOT give up on this story unless I say so.
For those who have reviewed/messaged me about putting sex scenes in: All in due time. This isn't a story in which there is an existing bond between characters. It is the start before such bonds have been formed so there is NO WAY that I could even attempt a sex scene except for a fake one in a dream. However I will save the actual thing for later and just tease you in the dreams ;)
UNTIL NEXT TIME, I love ya, but I don't love ya. PEACE!
