Alice POV
We were all sitting in the living room of the house and waiting. I guess we were waiting for Emmett to come back since we were all so worried about him being in a blood filled hospital for so long. I don't know how he could stand it honestly. Just the thought made my throat dry. We had been sitting here for hours, each of us lost in our own thoughts. Being a vampire is so boring sometimes. Thankfully I started to feel the pull in my mind of an upcoming vision.
I stared off into the distance as I felt the vision coming in and I could feel Edward tensing across the room as he started to see everything that I could see in my mind. My vision went black and I could see Emmett throwing a paper into a green flame in Bella's house. Green flames? Then the vision changed and Emmett and a blond man who I recognized from the parking lot at school were driving and parking in front of the Forks Impound Lot in Bella's truck.
They got off and came back with a hunk of black metal that had to be Hermione's motorcycle. Emmett picked up the motorcycle and placed it into the bed of the truck and the two drove off again. The vision blurred again and I could see Charlie's police car approaching Bella's house and Charlie helping Hermione out and see the motorcycle in the driveway good as new. The vision ended with Hermione laughing and crying.
I snapped my eyes open and looked at Edward who was already explaining to Emmett that he needed to call the blond man through something called the 'floo'. Emmett seemed to know what that was and ran out of the house and into his car. I guess being a vampire was not so boring after all.
Emmett
I left the hospital in a hurry. I wanted to help Hermione by fixing her bike but I also didn't want to leave her side. What if she asks for me in the moment I'm not there? She's going to think I'm a terrible boyfriend. I got into the car as slow as I could, trying to pass for a human to the people around me. As soon as I got into the car I peeled out of the parking lot and onto the street. The hospital wasn't really that far from my house but I needed to talk to Edward about him maybe reading the minds of Hermione's friends and knowing how to contact them Fixing her motorcycle would be a great present for Christmas.
I turned off the car and ran into the house to avoid the rain and saw everyone except Carlisle sitting on the sofas in the living room looking at Alice. Edward came up to me and started whispering to me so as to not disturb Alice's vision.
"Go to her house and write your message on paper. Light the green fire and throw the paper through. Her friends should see it"
I looked at him and then at Alice and smiled. They always made life so much easier for us. Giving Edward a clap on the back I ran out of the living room and to the car and raced down the road to Bella's house.
Draco POV
Sometimes being in the order was loads of fun and sometimes it really wasn't. Going on raids, missions, parties, and discussing death eater punishment was fun. Sitting in the overcrowded table at headquarters listening to Professor McGonagall drone on and on about expense reports was boring me to tears.
I looked over in Harry's direction and tried to communicate with him and tell him to divert the attention of the group so I could try to sneak out and escape this hell. Harry wasn't having it, he just looked the other way and ignored me. Just when I was about to start pulling my hair out the fireplace turned green and a paper airplane shot out.
Thankful for the interruption I shot up out of my seat, picked the airplane up and opened it. The note read:
Hermione has been in a crash and is in the hospital. She is awake and recovering but her motorcycle was destroyed and has been impounded. I would appreciate if one of you could come and help me retrieve and fix it for her before she sees the state it's in. The news of its loss has affected her and seeing it again would make her happy. She is in the care of my father, the best doctor in Washington and is expected to leave the hospital before next week. I'll wait in Bella's house.
Thanks, Emmett.
I read the note aloud and everyone gasped at the part where Hermione crashed the motorcycle and all the women cooed at the part where Emmett wanted to fix the motorcycle to make her happy. It made me roll my eyes since they were overlooking the fact that he is a VAMPIRE.
McGonagall looked as stern as ever and looked at me and said "Draco go and help your vampire friend. Ensure Hermione's safety as well."
Harry and Ron protested saying they should be the ones to go but it made sense that McGonagall picked me. Three death eaters of the inner circle out and looking for blood, and around here the last one in first one out rule was very strong.
"I'll go Potter. Just stay sitting here and try to take good notes for me" I mocked and turned away from the room as he fumed.
I always had a bag packed with all my necessities just in case of an emergency like this one. It sucked that Blaise was on a mission. He would've loved to see Hermione again. I threw the bag over my shoulder and entered the library that was on the same floor of my room.
I climbed into the fireplace and threw some powder shouting "Swan Residence" and closing my eyes to avoid getting soot in them like they always did with this dingy old floo. I opened them and climbed out of the fireplace to see Emmett waiting for me in the living room. Honestly, what did Hermione see in him? He always thought she would go for the skinny nerdy boys not the bodybuilder macho man. But I guess people change.
I looked up at the giant in front of me and he looked to me with a pleading expression. He really did want to make Hermione happy and well, who was I to hinder Hermione's happiness. We walked out of the house together while Emmett explained to me where the motorcycle was.
"So wait, the motorcycle is in a lot and you need my help to go get it?" I asked confused. Surely this gargantuan was capable of simply retrieving a hunk of metal
"Actually that's part of why I need your help. The lot wont release the bike unless there's a police report and all sorts of paperwork which we don't have. I was hoping your magic had some forms of persuasion" He trailed off
"Yes my magic can be used to persuade but its highly illegal and I'm only going to do it for Hermione not you" I said. I would've done it anyway since I knew how to clear my wand of unforgivable after casting them but Emmett doesn't have to know that.
We decided to drive Bella's 'tunk' or was it 'truck' to the impound lot to bring back the parts in the back part of the truck that was just empty plastic which made no sense. Why would someone buy a car that's missing half the roof? I was going to explain to Emmett that I could magically shrink the parts and bring them back in my pocket but I kind of wanted to ride in this tunk thing.
We arrived at the lot and I bristled at the sight of it. It was all so dirty and I hate getting dirt on my clothes and Merlin forbid, my hair. I cast a dirt repelling charm on myself and had to practically jump out of this monstrosity that Hermione's cousin called a vehicle. Honestly.
Once inside the manager asked us what Emmett had predicted: some forms and insurance and a bunch of unnecessary crap. She even asked Draco for his number like if he were some kind of product or something which was unbelievably rude.
I cast the imperio and she showed us where the motorcycle should be. It was a big plastic bin and when she removed the top it was the engine and the wheels and nothing else. My heart dropped thinking of Hermione and he could see Emmett looking uncomfortable too.
I looked into the eyes of the manager and clearly stated "we are going to take this bin and any other parts we may need for the reconstruction. You will allow us to do so and hinder us in no way. When we are finished we will depart in that orange thing and you will forget we or this motorcycle were every here. Now go inside and go to sleep" She nodded and walked back inside and I made sure she put her head down through the window in the side of the building.
Emmett was looking at me in awe "That was so scary" that made me laugh "You don't even know the half of it"
He turned around to look for some metal tubes and things that he would need to fix Hermione's motorcycle and placed them in the bin along with the original parts. I remembered when Hermione and Sirius would sit outside for hours laboring over the motorcycle. They did everything by hand and that always struck me as odd seeing as they could do everything much faster by magic. I wonder if it was even possible to make alterations to the motorcycle by magic.
Emmett grabbed the box with two hands and tried to pretend it was really heavy but Draco knew he could carry it with his little finger if he wanted. Emmett threw the bin in the bed of the truck and they sped off to Bella's house.
Hermione POV
I woke up again and felt even more tired than when I had gone to sleep a couple of hours ago. I wished I could call Emmett in here to keep e company but apparently I lost a lot of blood and was getting some transfused and I didn't want to make him uncomfortable.
I was distracted by the television in my room. It had been so long since I watched television. As a child my parents rarely ever let me watch it because it was bad for children and even then my nose was always in a book. In Bella's house Charlie had a very large TV that I didn't even know was possible but he was always watching sports and that was boring to me.
But now I flipped through the channels and fell on this movie on Jane Eyre. I've obviously read the book but I never thought that there would be a movie adaptation. I am so behind on a lot of things in the muggle world.
The movie was great and long which occupied a lot of time. By the end of it the sun was already setting. I kept watching until another one started again but this one wasn't very interesting so it lost my attention but I left it in if only for the sounds.
I examined myself and tried to assess my injuries to start my magical healing since this muggle thing was taking way to long. I started with the sprained ankle since that would be the easiest. I barely felt it moving back into place because of all the medications I was on which would hopefully help me for the big event of fixing my femur since that's the hardest bone in the body.
I fixed the tibia and groaned at the sparks of pain of the bones snapping together. I had skele-gro at the house which I could use for the femur instead of risking hitting the femoral artery by mistake. I'm not a healer after all.
I fixed the clavicle and the ribs which hurt like a bitch and had me wincing after every breath. I placed my fingers over the clavicle and whispered the spell and felt the bones align. I was about to work on the left arm when I decided to show Dr. Cullen so he could see how magical healing worked. The know-it-all in me recognized that he would appreciate that.
I had a little button on my bed to press when I needed attention so I pushed it and a nurse entered and I asked her to being Dr. Cullen. Luckily she didn't examine me because she would be very shocked to see almost all my bones healed since my last check.
About five minutes later Carlisle walked into the room and stood next to my bed looking around at all the contraptions around me
"Carlisle everything is fine, I healed most of the bones but I wanted to show you how I did it so I left the left arm for last"
"That was very kind of you Hermione. I have never seen magical healing at work. Does it not hurt?"
I laughed at that "Yeah it hurts but its better than wearing a cast for months" I took out my wand and pointed it at my left arm with my right which was really uncomfortable since im right handed and muttered the spell. With a crack my left arm straightened out and I moved my fingers to check if I did it right.
Carlisle looked astonished and I giggled when he whispered "amazing"
"Carlisle could you please tell Bella to go into my bedroom and look inside my closet for a box marked 'potions'. Inside there is something called skele-gro which is a potion that will regrow my femur since I don't want to risk hitting an artery by snapping it back."
"Dear, we could do surgery and fix it the normal way. You don't have to regrow your entire bone that's insane!" Carlisle looked shocked when he said this
"I know that but surgery has so many complications and then I wouldn't be able to use the leg and just taking out the old one and putting in a new one would be so much easier" I whined.
"Fine, we'll do this your way but you're going to stay for observation for a full day with your new femur" he said and I groaned. This was going to be a long couple of days.
