Brenna Banner was pushed to the inside of herself, frantically trying to get back to the front of her mind, to regain control. Whatever was there now wasn't interested in that anymore.
She slammed her hands onto the table as her skin changed color to a medium green, and the painful enlarging process began. The threat being less intense, she didn't grow quite as much. A mere six feet, Brenna was just ripping her once loose clothing. Her glasses slipped off. Her eyes flashed as she slammed her fist into the table, cracking it down the middle and sending the broken pieces flying.
Brenna was concerned about the damage she could do, about her classmates, her teacher. Her school. The Hulk didn't care a lick about it.
Please! She shouted silently at the person she was becoming. Stop! Calm down!
The Hulk pushed Sybil aside, turning to glare at everyone else in the room.
Nothing's wrong!
The She-Hulk turned and spoke her first words in a deep, growling voice that was a mere echo of Brenna's. "Brenna puny."
Ms. Foreman, the biology teacher, herded the rest of the terrified class into a corner reasonably calmly despite her obvious fright.
Trapped inside the monster, Brenna looked through the red haze at her classmates, people she had considered friends, in sadness and pain. She tried desperately to calm down.
The She-Hulk proceeded to smash the wall open and jumped outside.
The one thing Brenna could be thankful for was at least she didn't permanently hurt anyone. That didn't mean Brenna liked it.
The She-Hulk picked up speed as she ran towards home, until she was going at unbelievable speeds, passing cars. People stopped and stared after her. She didn't notice.
She-Hulk stopped in the yard and yanked open the door, small enough to fit through, marching inside.
Jennifer noticed and jumped in front of her. "Brenna, sweetie, calm down. Just relax. We're not gonna hurt you."
"Dad?"
"He's here, honey."
Bruce entered the small kitchen. "Oh my goodness. Brenna? Brenna, it's me."
She-Hulk stared at him. "Dad." She was a tiny bit taller than he was now.
Brenna was surprised that She Hulk knew her father, and knew not to smash him.
Bruce put his hands on his daughter's shoulders and looked into her eyes. "Brenna, calm down."
She-Hulk sighed, and her eyes faded to brown, her skin returning to it's natural color as she shrunk.
When she reached her normal height, she stumbled forward and shook her head. "Dad?"
Bruce hugged her and squeezed his eyes shut. "I'm here, Brenna."
"I did it again," Brenna said brokenly. "We have to fix it, Dad."
