I'm back with another chapter! I'm glad to see by the reviews that you enjoyed the last chapter and to lovelydarkness, I almost thought about deleting what I had for this chapter and the next two to make her be a model of maternity clothes, but I was just thinking of how horrible that pay cut would be... Anyways, enjoy and thank you all!

"Danielle, you're pregnant." The doctor told me and I went into a shock. "It looks like it is about five weeks along, but I would advise that you see a specialist." I barely heard anything that she said after breaking the news.

My heart was at a standstill and I couldn't react. "Thank you." I promptly told the doctor and walked out. I stood in front of Kol stone silent and we went to the car. "She was wrong, there's no way that she could be right." I murmured to myself.

"Dani, what did she say? You're white as a ghost." I didn't know what to tell him, but he deserved to know.

"She said that I'm pregnant, but that's impossible. I've only been with you. I'm not ready to be a mom, Kol." I cried.

"Really, pregnant? Dani, you'd be a great mother, but if you don't want to keep it the option's yours." He said.

"I could never kill something so innocent! How is this even possible?" My silent sobs slowly stopped.

"It's rare, but occasionally there have been supernatural pregnancies." I slapped him.

"Why didn't you tell me that? We could have used protection! I'm scared, Kol, I'll lose my job if I gain weight. Wait, what's your reaction to all of this?"

"I've kind of always wanted to be a dad. When opportunity hits, it's best to grab it, but I don't want you to suffer for my desires." He smiled slightly.

"Kol, you know that I don't want to deny you anything. We can do this, but for now, can we just keep this to ourselves? At least until I go to confirm it." I asked.

"Of course, but just so you know, Stefan and Caroline will be able to hear the heartbeat if they are paying attention." He reminded me.

"Oh my god! There's a heartbeat? So this is all real?" I came to the realization that he could tell me what is going on.

"It's very faint, but definitely there." He smiled at me and we arrived. I tried to void my face of emotion as we walked inside.

"You're back! Feeling better at all?" Caroline asked.

"As expected, it's just a stomach bug, nothing to worry about." I lied smoothly.

"That's good, I guess, want any tea?" She offered and I accepted great fully. "Now, why do you look like you've been crying?" I mentally swore at her ability to read me so well.

"Just leave it alone, Caroline." Kol hissed protectively.

"Excuse me, but Dani can speak for herself."

"Both of you stop fighting or get out, you're giving me a headache." I yelled. "Babe, will you get me a pickle and some peanut butter?" I requested and he left to grab it.

"That's disgusting, Dani. Why would you want that?" She paused coming to a realization. "Morning sickness, mood swings, weird cravings. Dani, are you?" She mouthed the word pregnant and I didn't know what to do. "Oh my god, that's great! Does he know? How is it possible? Have you thought of names?" She started bombarding me with questions.

"Yes, it's rare, but possible, and I'm not even close to that point yet. Care, we're trying to keep this a secret, so please don't tell anyone." I asked stressing the importance.

"Why are you keeping it a secret?" She asked.

"For the fact that the father is not human, I don't know what will happen, so I'll let it come out when I start showing, which won't be for a while. Please Caroline, don't even tell your mom or anyone else." I explained.

"Don't tell anyone else what?" Tyler came in with a croissant.

"Nothing!" We both squealed.

"Here you go m'lady." Kol came back with a pickle and a jar of peanut butter.

"Thank you, Kol!" I said before dipping the pickle into the peanut butter.

"That's beyond gross, how can you eat that?" Tyler looked at me chowing down on the pickle.

"No, it's really good! How do my snack preferences affect you?" I began getting defensive without trying to. "Sorry Tyler, I'm on my period, so my hormone levels are like way up here!" I apologized holding my hand up as high as it would go.

"It's okay, but I actually came in here to ask when we need to leave for the beach." He awkwardly asked.

"Well, I got sick this morning, so I called out, but if you guys still want, I'll take you." I offered. "Give me like fifteen minutes and then we can go." I finished my pickle and stood up, grabbing my trash to bring to the kitchen.

"Morning Dani!" Jeremy greeted.

"Morning Jeremy, sleep well?" I asked.

"Very well, thanks. Your place really is amazing." He complimented and I thanked him before going to throw on a bikini.

"KOL!" I called from my room.

"What's the matter, Dani? I love that bikini on you." He obviously lied.

"No, this bikini is awful, it makes me look like I'm five months pregnant as opposed to five weeks! Should I go with a one piece instead?" I asked.

"Dani, you look gorgeous, your body hasn't changed at all. Even with a baby bump you'll look beautiful, love. I couldn't imagine a better gene pool for our child." He placed a hand on my stomach lovingly.

"Are you sure that I don't look fat in this?" I asked once again looking at my reflection in the mirror. I was wearing a hot pink strapless bikini with a gold piece, which went around my neck and the bottoms were low rise with cut outs on both sides.

"Yes, I couldn't imagine anyone looking better in that bikini than you." He promised, so I threw on some shorts and a white lace tank top so that we could go. "Everyone ready?" He asked and they all agreed.

"We can each fit four other people in our cars, so divide yourselves up." I announced.

"Dani!" Caroline, Bonnie, Jeremy, and Tyler called first.

"Okay, so Matt, Elena, and Stefan, you're stuck with me." Kol rolled his eyes.

When we got to the beach, everyone grabbed their stuff and barreled out of the cars. "I'll meet up with you guys later. Over to the left is open to the public!" I called and went down to talk to Lisa. "Hey Lise!" I smiled at her.

"Hey Dani, I thought that you were sick." She said.

"Uh yeah, about that, can I talk to you privately?" I asked and we stepped away from everyone. "So, I went to the doctor this morning and I found out that I'm pregnant..." I trailed off nervously.

"Oh, congratulations! When's the due date? Kol must be so excited." She smiled.

"I don't know yet, but how should I handle this in terms of work?" I asked seeing that she didn't get where I was going with this.

"The best thing I can say is keep going until you start showing and then I'll have to let you go. You're a talented and beautiful girl, Dani, but the recovery and losing the weight again would take far too long. We're not here for modeling maternity clothes, so there's really nothing I can do about it, sorry." My face dropped in disappointment.

"I get it, there's nothing either of us can do about it." I shrugged.

"I'm really sorry, Dani, I don't want to do it because you're one of my best models. How about you hop in now and finish up this photo shoot with us?" Lisa suggested I agreed and changed before waiting my turn.

"Hey Dani!" Adriana came over seeing me.

"Hey Ade, how's it going?" I fake smiled at her.

"Good, but that was the most fake smile I've ever seen on you, what's the matter?"

"Would I be a bad friend if I said that I can't tell you?" I scrunched my eyebrows.

"Dani, I'm worried about you, I won't judge you no matter how bad it is." Adrianna promised.

"I'm serious when I say that I can't tell you. I will as soon as I can though." I tried to get myself out of the hole I dug.

"Okay, but remember that I'm here for you, girlie." We hugged it out and I felt really bad. The photographer called me over to start my set. When I was finished, I saw Kol and the kids standing off to the side.

"Hey strangers, how's the water?" I smirked at them.

"You're looking very sexy today." Kol poked my belly button.

"Geez Kol, why don't you just find any fucking chance you can to touch my stomach!" I pushed him away.

"Woah, calm down Dani, it's not like it's a huge deal." Jeremy grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Don't be an asshole, Jeremy." I glared, pushing him off.

"Hey Kol, Lisa wanted to talk to you for a second." Adriana came jogging down.

"I'll be there in a second, Adriana." He nodded. "Dani, calm down and go back to working if you can't control your hormones." He whispered in my ear before going to see Lisa with Adriana.

"Sorry guys, sometimes being a girl sucks. There's nothing worse than crazy hormones during periods." I tried to excuse my behavior. I couldn't picture having to keep the pregnancy a secret for much longer. "I'll leave you guys alone so you're not stuck talking to a crazy hormonal old lady."

"Wait Dani, you're not old. Hormonal and crazy yes, but not always." Care joked.

"Anyway, unless you want to see me posing in a thong and bandeau type bikini, I'd suggest you scram." I laughed walking away to change into my next bathing suit.

I was walking towards the little hut and literally ran into Kol. "Hey, what was Lisa asking about?"

"Well, she congratulated us and then told me what she apparently told you. I'm so sorry, Dani. I would've taken more precautions if I had realized how this would mess up your life. You don't deserve to lose your job over my stupidity." He apologized.

"Oh my god, Dani, you got fired and you're pregnant?" Adriana came out of nowhere and tears started coming from my eyes.

"Well now everyone knows, might as well have it glued to my forehead!" Tears were now freely flowing from my eyes and all of the other models were surrounding me. Kol pulled me closer to him and he yelled at all of them.

"So what? She's pregnant it's not the end of the world. Don't think that we can't hear your whispers that she isn't responsible enough for a kid. Let me tell you, Dani is way more mature and stronger than all of you put together. She's moral enough to not get an abortion because she doesn't want to kill an innocent fetus. Shame on the rest of you especially you, Adriana, who claims to be one of her best friends, but will tell the entire world her secret the second you find out. Fuck you all for being able to step on someone you call your friend when she's down." He yelled as I just stood in his arms crying. We walked to the car and Caroline came running up to us.

"I heard you yelling and I grabbed her clothes. Dani, can I borrow your keys so Kol can take you home? We'll give you a little time to cool off. Plus I have to give those bitches a piece of my mind." She growled and I handed her my keys.

"Please don't make things any worse for me, Care." I wiped my eyes.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything illegal or too bad in general." She promised and ran off.

"C'mon, let's get you out of here." He said and we climbed into the car. "You didn't need them anyways and there's always other jobs. Are you okay though, Dani?" He asked thoughtfully.

"I don't really know. I was never ashamed of you or the baby, but I was worried about if I ended up having a miscarriage. My mom had three miscarriages before she had me, so I was really trying to protect myself." I explained.

"Dani, don't worry, I understand, you don't have to be ashamed at not wanting to let people know." He cooed softly.

"I can't go back now, Kol. I thought that we were all like a family, but families don't treat each other like that. Now Aunt Liz is going to be pissed that I didn't tell her first." I sighed.

"How about when they all get back we let Caroline call her. I'll tell her the news and if it's a good reaction you can talk to her and if it's bad I'll do it."

"No, I won't do that to you. Can we just Skype her together?" I suggested an alternative.

"Sure, whatever you want, but if she gets freaked out do you promise to step out of the room and let me deal with it?"

"You're way too protective of me. I can deal with a little yelling." I declined, but we Skyped her anyways.

"Hey Aunt Liz!" I smiled at her.

"Hi honey, hello Kol, is something wrong?" She asked.

"Not wrong, per se, but new and different. You may get mad, but please don't yell or say anything hurtful-" I rambled.

"Dani, can you please just get to the point?" She pleaded.

"Oh why? Are you tired? You really need to stop overworking yourself, Aunt Liz."

"You can do this, stop distracting yourself, love." Kol wrapped an arm around me.

"I'm pregnant." I blurted out and she just looked at me through the computer screen.

"Uh, who's the father?" She asked puzzled.

"Me. Neither of us really understand it, but it happened, so we're just embracing it." Kol chimed in.

"Oh, that's unexpected, congratulations!" She was at a loss for words.

"One more thing, I was pretty much fired for it. You know how horrible it would be to show women to be confident in their own skin." I mocked.

"Dani, that's horrible, I'm sorry. Well, at least you'll have more time to relax during the pregnancy." She tried to find a bright side.

"Well, I do have my biology teaching degree, so I can always fall back on that if need be. You know what, that's what I'm going to do. I need to get away from those snooty bitches, excuse my language, once and for all." I decided.

"That's great for you, Dani, I hope it works out for you." She smiled.

"Get some sleep, Aunt Liz, I'll talk to you soon." I waved and she signed off. "I feel so much better, Kol, you want to help me job hunt?" I asked.

"Sure, but isn't it a little soon for a teaching job to open up?" He asked.

"Well, if there is a retiring teacher then now would be the best time to look for replacements and I did get nearly a perfect score on my teaching exams. Tonight, I'll put together a resume and tomorrow I'll see what's open." I explained the process.

Caroline, Tyler, Bonnie, Jeremy, Elena, Stefan, and Matt came in the door an hour or so later. "Caroline, please hang my keys by the door!" I shouted, continuing my work.

"What are you doing, Dani?" She asked.

"Preparing a resume, so that I can go to my back up plan of being a high school biology teacher." I said not looking up from the computer screen.

"You can't bury yourself in your work to avoid this." She tried to pull me away, but I continued typing.

"Caroline, I promise that I'm fine. It's time for me to move on with my life. You know that I can't sit around and do nothing and it's called a back up plans for a reason." I defended myself and she just walked away. I finished up the resume and began googling for my job search.

Scanning through all of the options which were all relatively close, I found one that seemed the most appealing. Eleanor Roosevelt High School needed a new AP biology teacher, so I emailed in an application along with my resume. I turned off my computer for the night to get some sleep.

Two days later, I got a call from an unknown number.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hello, is this Danielle Patterson?" The woman on the other end asked.

"Yes and what is this about, may I ask?"

"I'm the secretary of Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Sara Collins, and your application for the biology teacher position has been reviewed. It has been requested that you come in for an interview. Is tomorrow at noon good for you?" The woman asked.

"Of course, that would be perfect. Thank you, Ms. Collins, I'll be there." I hung up before jumping up and down in glee.

"What's got you so happy? Did you get the job?" Kol asked.

"I got an interview for tomorrow!" I hugged him.

"That's great, love! What time is it at?"

"Noon, so no morning sickness worries." I smiled.

"That's when Caroline and her friends are leaving, Dani." He reminded me and my smile dropped.

"Do you think she'll be upset that I'm not there to wave them off?" I started feeling like a horrible host.

"I'm pretty sure that Caroline will be willing to sacrifice a few extra minutes for you to get a job." He justified.

The next morning I ate half a bagel and helped the kids pack up.

"It's going to be so quiet around here with all of you gone." I sighed.

"Thanks so much for letting us come, I had a ton of fun." Care smiled.

"No problem, kiddo. Maybe we can do this again sometime." I suggested and glanced at the time. "I have to get dressed, I'll be back in a minute." I pulled together a professional-looking ensemble and went back to the living room grabbing my purse, phone, and keys. "Bye guys, it was awesome having you here." I smiled at the group of kids.

"Good luck with the pregnancy."

"Thanks for having us."

"Do well."

"Love the shoes."

"You guys are the best, but I gotta run, so I'll talk to you later." I thanked them going to my interview.

I got to the school five minutes early, so I waited at the door for someone to let me in. The office buzzed me in, so I went to find out where I needed to go.

"Hi, my name's Danielle Patterson. I have an interview for the position of the AP biology teacher." I told the woman at the desk.

"Oh yes, I'm Sara, we talked on the phone. You'll be with the principal, David Boule, in just a moment. His office is the first one on the right in the hall behind me." She gave me the low down.

"Thank you so much, Ms. Collins. Should I just stand here to wait?" I asked.

"Yeah, unless you want to sit on 'the bench' like you're in trouble." She laughed.

"Just making sure, I wouldn't want to be that awkward person just standing around." I smiled back.

"Ms. Patterson, are you all set to begin?" The principal emerged from his office.

"Yes, sir." I lightly smiled and walked into his office as he motioned for me to enter.

"No need to be so formal, you can call me Dave, Danielle." He waved off my formality.

"Then you can call me Dani." I returned.

"Well Dani, your resume is very impressive. You scored very well on your teaching exams, I see. What do you hope to accomplish should you get this position?" He asked cutting to business mode.

"I would love to be able to educate the younger generations so that they are able to improve the world even farther and understand it. There is so much potential in the biological fields and I know that I personally am fascinated in how the world and everything in it functions." I explained my love of biology.

"I love the way your eyes lit up as you said that. You just answered most of my questions. You've got the job, there is no doubt in my mind. Congratulations Dani." He smiled and shook my hand.

"Thank you, Dave. You won't regret your decision."

"Do you have like an hour to observe a class and talk to the current teacher?" He asked.

"Yeah, I have all day if need be." I smiled and he led me through the halls to a small classroom in a corner.

"Excuse me Mr. Piper, this is Dani and she's taking this class over next year. Do you mind allowing her to observe your class for the period?" Dave asked the teacher.

"Okay, just stand in the back and take notes." Mr. Piper told me. I made my way to the back and pulled a small notebook and I pen out of my bag to record notes.

About ten minutes into the class, I was dying of boredom. Mr. Piper was obviously not at all interested in biology, so the class just seemed to last forever. As the bell rang, I felt a relief. I walked up to Mr. Piper and thanked him.

"Thank you for letting me sit in and listen to your lecture. It was a very good learning experience. Do you have any advice for me for next year?"

"Yeah, all of these kids are idiots. They always fail all of their tests and put no effort into their work. Spend plenty of time on discipline." He suggested and I tried not to gasp.

"Mr. Piper, those kids seemed to be very well behaved. Not one kid spoke out of turn." I denied what he said.

"Wait'll they're all yours, then you'll see. I wish you the best of luck, Dani." He turned back to his computer, so I thanked him again and left. Once I got into the hallway, I was totally lost. I wondered around trying to find a way out before I saw Dave again.

"Hi Dave, I'm totally lost, can you point me to the entrance?" I asked helplessly.

"Turn left at the next hall down and then walk straight until you get to the doors. We'll be in touch, Dani. Oh and could you please put together a packet of summer work for your incoming students?" He asked.

"No problem, I'll have it done by the end of the month." I smiled.

"Great, I knew I hired you for a reason. Talk you you later." He sent me on my way and I texted Kol.

I got the job! -D

Congrats babe! -K

Need anything while I'm out? -D

Whipped cream. I have special plans to congratulate u. ;) -K

That sounds awfully good, I'll see u in a few. -D

I love you, Dani. -K

I love you more. -D

I rushed to CVS to pick up the whipped cream, along with a few other treats. After purchasing everything and arriving at Kol's apartment I called out, "Kol, I got the stuff! Prepare yourself for some amazing-"

"Hey Dani!" Bekah came walking down the hall.

"Sundaes!" I awkwardly changed my sentence. "Hey Bekah, what're you doing here?" I asked.

"Oh, I was just sitting around, so I decided to surprise Kol." She shrugged. "Why are you all dressed up?"

"I just had a job interview and I got the job. You're looking at a new AP bio teacher!" I smiled.

"What happened to your other job?"

"Kol didn't tell you? I sort of kinda got fired, but not for like 2 months." I decided that Kol should be there when I tell her the actual news.

"Why? What happened? I thought that you loved modeling." She asked and Kol somehow appeared next to me. I gave him a quick kiss before continuing.

"Rebekah, I'm pregnant." She stopped for a moment.

"You fucking cheated on my brother? How could you do that to him? Kol loves you more than any of us have ever thought possible, but you went out and cheated." She started yelling and slapped my across the face.

"Rebekah! Dani didn't cheat on me, I'm the father." Kol pushed me slightly behind him.

"But that's not possible! Did you confirm with a witch?" She asked.

"No, but I would never lie about something as serious as cheating. Rebekah, I love Kol with all my heart and would never do anything to betray him." I said seriously.

"Congratulations, then guys. I can't wait to be an aunt! Did you guys tell Nik and 'Lijah? We can probably find some way to contact Finn, as well. They're going to want to know about their little niece or nephew and completely spoil him or her!" Bekah started getting really excited.

"I'm only five weeks in, Rebekah, it's a little soon for any of that." I laughed.

"Rebekah, get out, this stuff isn't for sundaes." Kol glared at her.

"Eww Kol! I don't care to know about your sex life. Don't hurt the baby!" She yelled running out, disgusted.

"Now, where were we?" He joked, sliding my shirt over my head and kissing me passionately. I joined in, playing with the hem of his shirt breaking our kiss to pull it over his head. He pulled off my black pencil skirt as I tugged his belt off.

"Bedroom now." I commanded as he undid the clasp on my bra. The rest of our clothes were lost somewhere on the way.

The next morning, I woke up feeling sticky and disgusting. I got out of bed and went to shower without bothering to get dressed again.

"Time for the walk of shame?" I heard behind me and slammed against the wall, trying to cover myself with my arms.

"What the hell are you doing here Klaus?" I growled in annoyance.

"Well, I'm clearly not having as much fun as you." He chuckled.

"Turn around, I'm going to go shower." I commanded him.

"What if I don't want to?" He replied. I jutted my leg out to kick his crotch and while he was down, I got to the bathroom. I jumped in the warm shower to remove dried up whipped cream and chocolate syrup remnants. I wrapped a towel around my body and opened the door.

I went into Kol's closet to see if I had any extra clothes stashed away, but couldn't find any. Instead, I grabbed one of his t-shirts pulling it on over my bra and panties from the day before.

"I like this look." Kol wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Good morning, Kol. Why is Klaus here?" I asked.

"Bekah decided not to keep her mouth shut. I just told him a few minutes ago."

"Of course she had to go and call him. She doesn't understand that I have to start making lesson plans and reviewing biology." I ranted.

"Dani, don't worry about it. You go and do what you need to do and I'll deal with my over eager siblings. I'll see you later." I gave his a quick kiss and grabbed my skirt and blouse from the floor and pulled on the skirt before leaving.
