Seth held Takuma's hand as they stood outside the looming, gold gates of the Shirabuki Mansion. Seth could sense that Sara was inside with her maids, little creepy level E followers and Kaname. He couldn't sense Yui or Isabelle, which was good.

He let out a heavy sigh, readjusting his duffel bag on his shoulder. He looked over at Takuma for some motivation. His best friend beamed at him, giving his hand a small squeeze.

Seth grinned and gave Sara's gates a kick, sending them flying off their hinges and onto the ground. Takuma chuckled at how overboard his friend had gone.

"Before you ask," Seth began, swinging their arms as they strolled down the stony driveway towards the house. "That was totally necessary."

Takuma shook his head as he laughed at Seth's Cheshire grin. Seth's heart began to race as it did whenever Takuma smiled at him, or laughed at something he did. He loved making Takuma smile, it made him feel as if he was on top of the world.

He looked down at their fingers entwined. His skin was darker than Takuma's, which was considered fair for a vampire. Seth frowned, a question he'd buried long ago returning to mind.

What am I?

"Seth? Is everything alright?" Takuma asked, his eyebrows furrowed as he stared at his best friend worriedly.

Seth stared blankly at him for a minute, replaying what he'd said as he tried to register it. His brain had frozen, stopped working almost.

Is everything alright?

He shook his head finally registering what he'd been asked.

He grinned at Takuma, releasing the blonde's hand and wrapping his arm around the blonde's shoulder, pressing their forehead's together.

"As long as you're by my side, Taku, everything's perfect," he said, his fingers running through the emerald eyed blonde's hair.

Takuma's cheeks turned bright red as he realised how close their faces were, and from what Seth had just said. He couldn't help but smile though. Seth's smiles where infectious for him.

"Excuse me?" someone said politely, calling them from their thoughts.

They looked up at the same time, their temples pressed against each other.

Standing on the doorstep of the Shirabuki Mansion was one of Sara's maids, holding her hands in front of her, her cheeks bright red. She wore a knee-length black skirt with frills at the end, a white shirt with more frills at the collar and sleeves, and a high collared jumper.

"Yeah?" Seth asked gruffly, not at all pleased his moment with Takuma was interrupted.

Takuma placed his left hand on Seth's back as he beamed at the embarrassed maid.

"I'm sorry about that. He tends to get a bit cranky at times. Can we help you?" Takuma said, being a lot more polite than Seth, who was scowling and glaring at the poor maid, putting her in an uncomfortable position.

"Uh..em.. Well, Lady Sara was wondering if you had business here, and if not, please leave," she said, avoiding eye contact with either of them for fear Seth would get even crankier.

She heard him let out a heavy sigh and looked up in surprise as he brushed past her, a tight grip on his black bag.

"That stupid Sara. Still has no respect for me," he growled, clearly displeased with the maid's mistress.

"Seth!" Takuma called, sweat dropping as he jogged up after him, stopping in front of the maid.

He bowed, frowning slightly.

"I'm sorry. He and his sister have a grudge against Lady Sara, but I assure you he won't harm her. He's here to protect her, as am I," he explained quickly, before speeding after the grouchy Seth.

He found the blonde in the parlour. Seth was leaning against the wall, pouting at Sara Shirabuki, who sat elegantly on a chesterfield couch. Across from her was Kaname, who smiled at Takuma as he entered.
