As Sian woke up the next morning, she stretched out in the cool sheets, flickering her eyes open as the daylight illuminated the room through the curtains. Rolling on to her side, she noticed the now empty space in the bed beside her, making her frown before she took in her surroundings, remembering where she was, making a smile appear on her face as she bit her bottom lip. The pillow smelt of Sophie, a smell the blonde found extremely addictive and only made the butterflies in her stomach start to erupt.

Hearing the door open, she glanced over to see Sophie enter wearing a short robe showing of her toned legs and carrying a cup in one hand and a glass of what looked to be orange juice in the other.

''Hey, you're awake.'' Sophie smiled, walking over to the bed as Sian sat up and wrapped the covers around herself. Setting a cup of tea down on the bedside cabinet next to Sian, Sophie handed her the glass of orange. ''I didn't know what you liked to drink in the morning, and I remember you said you didn't like coffee, so-''

''This is perfect, thank you.'' Sian interrupted her with a smile, as she took the Brunette's hand and tugged it for her to sit down on the edge of the bed next to her, before she leaned in and pressed their lips together briefly. ''Morning…'' She whispered, pulling back and looking into the blue eyes in front of her.

''Morning.'' Sophie quietly replied, a smile now on her lips as she watched the blonde take a sip of the orange juice before placing it next to the cup on the side. ''Last night… it was amazing.''

''It was.'' Sian beamed, as she looked down at the pretty revealing material covering the brunette. She had honestly thought they'd never be in this situation. Sophie entwined their fingers, stroking her thumb over the back of Sian's hand.

''But… what now?'' She asked, dreading this conversation, but knowing it was inevitable.

''What do you want to happen now?''

''Ideally? I want to be able to have it all, you, my job, not disappointing anyone, but I don't see how that can happen.''

Sian nodded her understanding and she managed a small smile before she looked down to the mug clasped in both her hands. It broke her heart to agree, but she really did understand the brunette's situation. Sophie had a career, she had already made plans to move for her job before she even met the blonde, and Sian couldn't bear to be the reason that someone gave up an opportunity, especially Sophie. She had worked so hard to achieve what she had, and the fact that she had got where she was all by herself at a young age, was one of the things that Sian found intriguing about her.

''You could come with me.'' Sophie suddenly said. She knew it was a long shot, but she had to try. She couldn't stand the thought of being without the blonde, not now. Sian gave her a small smile as she played with their fingers.

''No…'' Sian said gently yet simply and it made Sophie frown at the fact she hadn't even hesitated in answering.

''Why not?''

''Cos I've got my life here.'' Sian replied.

''You could have a life there, with me.''

Letting out a soft sigh, Sian lifted her free hand to Sophie's face, ''Soph, you're going to go there and do great. It's what you deserve and what you've worked so hard for. I'll be here doing my thing…'' she smiled. ''And when you get the chance, you'll come back and see me or I can come out and visit maybe.''

''I don't want to go.'' Sophie whispered, slowly running her free hand down Sian's arm.

''Sure you do.'' Sian said as she tucked a piece of the older girl's hair behind her ear and leaned in, softly capturing her lips. Sophie hands moved to rest on Sian's waist as both the blonde's hands cupped her face in return as they continued to kiss. Slowly running her tongue along Sophie's bottom lip, Sian didn't have to wait to be granted access as the other woman parted her lips and their tongues met.

As Sophie moved one hand behind Sian's back to support her, the blonde allowed herself to be lowered back on to the bed as the brunette held herself above her with her other hand. After a few more moments of kissing, Sophie leaned back and looked down at the blonde below her.

''Will you spend the day with me?''

''Of course.'' Sian smiled, getting an even broader smile in return. Noticing Sophie's gaze drift off to the pillow next to her, Sian brushed her thumb over her cheek. ''What is it?''

''What you doing for the rest of the week?''

''Nothing special planned, probably just working.''

''Could you take a few days off?''

''Why, what you thinking?'' Sian asked, excited that the brunette was maybe wanting to spend more time with her before she left.

''Come away with me.''

''W- what? Where?''

''Just on a trip for a few days, please?''

''But I mean, well… Don't you have to finish packing or tie things up at work before you go?''

''I'll still have time to do all that, It'll just be couple of days… but if you don't want t-''

''I want to!'' Sian quickly interrupted. ''I definitely want to.''

''Okay then.'' Sophie grinned. ''Now where were we…'' she whispered as she leaned in again and captured Sian's lips.

The rest of the morning was spent in the bedroom, before they managed to drag themselves away from each other long enough to get a shower and decide that while Sophie was organising where they were going, Sian would go home and pack a few things for the trip. After she'd dropped Sian back at her house, Sophie packed a few things herself, knowing that the next few days were going to most likely make it even more difficult for her to leave in a week. She didn't care though, as she couldn't think of anything she wanted more at that moment than spending time with Sian.

A couple of hours later, Sophie had picked Sian up and they had been driving for about an hour, the journey filled with light-hearted banter, neither one of them wanting to bring up the following weekend.

''So, what made you suddenly want to take a trip to the Lake District?''

''It's beautiful, even in the winter and it's away from the city, where it can just be me and you for a little bit.''

Sian smiled at the brunette's answer. Earlier that morning, she'd had to stop herself from telling Sophie to stay and forget going to America, but she knew it was wrong to do that. As much as the brunette had made it clear she wanted something with her, Sian couldn't justify allowing Sophie to jeopardise her career.

As the car turned into what appeared to be a lane that led up to a good sized house, Sian took in her surroundings, slightly in awe. Sophie pulled up on to the gravel on front of the large double garage and switched off the engine before turning to Sian.

''Wanna check it out it?''

Sian nodded enthusiastically with a wide grin. They both climbed out and got their bags from the boot of the car before making their way to the house.

''It's beautiful.'' Sian said as she looked around the open plan living room and kitchen and walked over to the large sliding glass panel doors that looked out on to the back garden and the fields and hills in the distance.

''Yeah it is.'' Sophie stated. "So do the surroundings please m'lady for the next few days?" she asked in a posh voice, making the blonde giggle.

"Definitely." Sian replied. "This is amazing, Soph. Thank you."

"Wanna check out upstairs?" she asked getting a nod in response.

Grabbing their bags from the floor, Sophie led the blonde up the spiral staircase and to the first door on the right.

''This is the master bedroom.'' Sophie said, opening the door and walking into a large, cream coloured room with a large window on one side which was framed by lavender floor length curtains, and a view of the hills and fields outside. The king sized bed was centred in front of the main wall, one open door on the other side of the room showed a good sized walk in wardrobe, whilst the other was the en-suite bathroom. The two seater sofa and two bedside cabinets finished off the look simply and tastefully.

''There's 3 guest rooms as well, and a gym, you want to see them?'' Sophie asked as she placed the bags down on the floor and turned to look at the Blonde who had a smirk on her face as she stepped closer to the brunette.

"Hmm, I think this room is the one we'll be getting most of a work out in." Sian smirked as she placed her hands on Sophie's stomach and lightly push her backwards in the direction of the bed.

Sophie knew exactly what was on her mind and as much as she wanted the same, the house wasn't stocked with any food and if she didn't go get some soon they'd be without any until the next day.

''Hold that thought babe." She said as she took the blonde's hands in her own, getting a small pout in return. "How about…'' She wrapped her arms around the blonde's waist and pecked her lips. "You explore this place a bit more, while I nip to the little store we passed on the way, and when I get back I'll make us some dinner. Then after that, we can pick up right back in here.''

Sian wrapped her own arms around the brunette's neck. ''Sounds perfect.'' She replied with a smile, leaning in and pressing their lips together in a lingering kiss.

After going to the shop and buying enough food for their dinner that evening and breakfast the next couple of mornings, as well as a few snacks, Sophie walked back into the house. She could hear soft music playing but the blonde wasn't in sight so she assumed she was still exploring the upstairs.

"Sian?" she called as she walked through to the kitchen and set the bags down on the worktop before starting to put a few of the things she'd bought into the fridge. Shutting the fridge door, she slowly walked towards the staircase and stood at the bottom of it. "Sian… you here?" she called, giving a small frown when no reply came.

Making her way up the staircase she noticed the music getting louder and followed the direction it was coming from, making her way towards the bathroom. As soon as she reached the door she stopped in her tracks as she was met by the sight of a filled bubble bath, candles and the blonde in an extremely short robe.

"Erm…" she cleared her throat. "What's all this?" she asked with a small smile.

"Well, you've arranged this trip for us…" Sian said as she took a step towards her. "Managed to get this gorgeous house for us to stay in…" and another step. "You drove us here, you went shopping" one final step. "So I wanted to do something for you…" she said as she undid the tie of the robe and let it fall open. "Good surprise?" she asked as Sophie's eyes automatically fell to the now exposed body of the blonde.

A grin spread across her face as she walked further into the bathroom towards Sian and wrapped her arms around her waist underneath the robe.

"Amazing surprise." she told her getting a smile in return before she leaned in and captured her lips.

"Oh my god, this is actual heaven." She said as she hummed in total contentment, lying in the bathtub opposite the blonde. "You are an absolute goddess right now." She said, causing the other woman to smirk.

"Just now?" Sian asked raising her eyebrows.

"Well, I've always thought so but this right here kind of just confirms that I'm right." Sophie replied sending a wink in the blonde's direction.

"Hm, nice save." The blonde laughed.

"Soooo… what did you fancy doing later?"

"You." Sian answered making Sophie purse her lips in amusement.

"I'm happy with that to be on the agenda." She smirked. "Anything else?"

"Hmm… Let's start with that and see how we feel." Sian said as she rested her head back against the end of the bath and closed her eyes. "You need to keep some energy to cook dinner."

Sophie shook her head with a grin before she copied her actions, relaxing into the water more and feeling the blonde's skin against her own.

"Remember that thing I said about that night we last had drinks being my favourite thing?" Sian asked, her eyes still closed.

"Yeah." Sophie replied half opening her eyes as she tilted her head down slightly to look over at the blonde. In all honesty, thinking about that particular night made her heart ache a little as it was when Sian had said they couldn't see each other anymore.

"I've changed my mind." Sian told her. "This is my favourite thing."

Sophie raised her eyebrows. "Really? Out of everything we've done, this is your favourite?"

Sian opened her eyes and met the dark blue ones looking back at her as she answered. "Well I mean that is obviously going to be at the top." She smirked. "But like you said, this is a little piece of heaven right here."

"Do you think we're crazy doing this?" Sophie enquired.

"Having a bath?" Sian asked with raised eyebrows. "I don't think so." Sophie rolled her eyes knowing that Sian was fully aware what she had meant.

"You know what I mean." She said and Sian shrugged.

"I dunno… maybe. But I don't regret it." She said getting a small nod in response. "Do you?" she asked watching the brunette carefully.

"No, of course not." Sophie answered in a hurry.

"Good." Sian smiled, seemingly satisfied at the brunette's answer as she shuffled back into her comfortable position.

Neither of them were kidding themselves about the fact that in less than a week the brunette would be on her way to another continent to start a new part of her life. However, what they both did still hold hope for was that the other woman would still want what was happening between them to continue, even when they were thousands of miles apart. As much as they both knew they were falling more and more for each other each extra minute that they spent together, they each also had a small fear in the back of their minds that it still wouldn't be enough, that the distance may prove too much or too difficult for them to overcome. But for now, or for the next few days at least, they were both happy to be exactly how they were, content in each other's company, making the most of the time they had left together before everything changed.
