"Many a war has ravaged this land, yet peace has never surfaced. With the avarice of Power coursing through so many soldier's veins, it will be unattainable. The world, well into its maturity, still has not grown."

Hyrule Field.

Vast. Glorious. Beauteous.

Link hadn't seen a natural setting this beautiful since leaving Faron. He embraced the beaten path coursing through the hills. The fields were green and lush with many insects going through the course of the day. The winds were sweet smelling, tussling Link's tunic hat and hair. Trees were everywhere and grass was tall and full of rupees. Link explored to no end, picking up hidden treasure and finding a few Piece of Hearts totaling him up to ten. Link gathered much more than material possession out here. Hyrule Field was a journey in its itself, containing vast portions of land to cross.

The field itself was not flat but rolled with hills from all directions. Paths intersected heinously with streams coursing through green. The sight was filled with trees and stone embankments in a few places. Link couldn't help but recall the stories he had heard from Zark, his sensei back home. Hyrule Field was home to many a battle from warring forces to the legendary hero himself. There was rich history here and each blade of grass or each pillar-like tree could share its story. This was the overworld and the underlay to each of the legendary hero's tales - always glanced over but never forgotten.

Now another hero was traversing across great divide of Hyrule.

Link couldn't help but maintain a smile especially after the journey he had to get here. Link managed to find out he was the destined hero after traveling through forest, earth, and sea. There were clues all along to point his path but never had he would have recognized it if not for Zelda. The royal intervention was the exact formula needed to find out the next goal in Link's quest. Terrible Iman and ambitious Dragmire were seeking domination of the world through a wish. At least, that was as speculated. Link happily volunteered to find out if the suspicions were true. His resolve lead him across this wondrous field to the relic village known to the world as Kakariko.

The dawn sky provided a beautiful backdrop for this quest and by the time Link had gotten to the halfway point, it was well into the morning. Link knew he was at the center when he reach a crossroads with multiple signs stacked on one another pointing to their respective directions. Link had no desire to go into the canyon, or the desert, but to the mountains where Kakariko rested. Link continued on through the field taking in the wondrous appetite the fields offered but he couldn't quite shake the event that happened before this journey.

Hyrule Field was indeed gorgeous but was only small compared to the beauty of Princess Zelda.

He could not get over the evening he had with her. Sharing stories, making each other laugh, endless food, her smile, her laugh, her bright blue eyes, her hair - Link had to catch himself. He knew he had a crush on her but after the previous night he needed to reassess what this feeling was. He couldn't shake it, it had been on his mind ever since he stepped foot from the compound. He wished he chose to stay until midday, at least to share one last meal together. The night moved too fast, the time too swiftly. He wished he could stay within Hyrule for a little longer but he knew in the depths of his mind that kind of wishing would send the whole entirety of existence into darkness. Still, a man could dream. Link smirked, coming to that notion himself. He fought hard with his logic and his emotions and each time a side won. He was prone to turn back at any moment to share a few thoughts that had left his mind prior to the forlorn goodbye. Departing to save the world is probably the only task that could separate true happiness and lucky Link was chosen for the task.

He did not wane, he did not falter. He accepted his role.

He was glad to have left at dawn. Happy to be on his way to saving the world. Excited to see how this mystery would end. Elated to bring his good-natured soul into readiness. Link, kind-hearted soldier for good, was on his way to saving the world. Zelda herself encouraged this hero to become the savior for their time. Now he was halfway through this rugged yet glorious field emboldened to mark the second leg of this journey. He looked to the past four dungeons as teaching methods to prepare him for the real quest ahead. He would take on a dark technomancer with ambitions of the Triforce for his possession.

Link was ready.

He stepped into a large clearing of grass with a small manageable waterfall in the distance and the river rushing from the northeast. Link soaked in the journey as well as the water. There was no bridge present in the vicinity which proved not to be an obstacle. Link pressed through the small river and came up soaked; he loved it. The thunderous sound of the nearby waterfall felt more pronounced than from the other side. Link wiped his face and turned toward the waterfall which was groaning louder and louder in each second. He stared at the cliff and scanned the edges looking for some clue to the extra noise. The sound grew to recognition as ten men launched off the small cliff and sailed toward Link.

The hero sprang back in response as the first one landed on his machine: two wheels, one engine, handle bars, tank, and seat. The first man was big and fat with a glorious white beard jutting from his face. He stared at Link as he rode by from the leap. His other nine men followed behind looking to dodge the Hylian roaming the field. Link jumped left and right and left again to evade the metal chassis of these machines until he revealed the sturdy Hylian Shield. Link, protecting himself, protruded his shield into the last man/machine and flung him off the propelled engine. He screamed in anguish as he tumbled across the field.

"Stop!" Yelled the first white-bearded biker. He hand-signaled one of his men to check the fallen one as he made his machine roar at the twist of a handle. He lead his men to surround the green-clad teen in a barricade.

"You hurt my guy!" He gargled. He lifted his goggles onto his leather bandana. He glared at Link while coming to a stop. "Everyone should know better than to stomp around in Mingo's territory."

One of the men spat at the feet of Link while others hollered and revved their engines.

"My territory... What's ya business here boy?" Mingo questioned.

I'm headed to Kakariko Village to track down Iman. Link expressed.

"Looks like the Remlit got his tongue there boss!" One of the lackeys called out.

"What's the matter boy? Ya scared? You ain't never been ambushed by a motorcycle gang?" Mingo's bike crept forward, revealing a lance in his left hand. Link revealed the beautiful Master Sword and held the Hylian Shield before him.

"You fixin' to fend me off?" Mingo asked. He twisted the handle of his motorcycle and revved it loudly. As if on cue, two of his men spurted forward with spear and club ready to strike Link. The hero was ready and anticipated the lurch of men. The bikers sped forward and were knocked from a spin attack by the chosen one. Link shield bashed one and smacked the other with the broadside of his sword. Both men were flung from their motorcycles as they themselves spun out and skidded into the grass. Link ended his rotation when he heard the signature noise of Mingo's bike. Link didn't expect his attack which cost him dearly.

Link was run through by the lance!

Mingo held his lance steady with a wayward teen on the end of this bloody weapon. The weapon had pierced the left side of Link's stomach and he was held up in midair. Link had to sacrifice nearly all of his hearts to stay alive amid the impaling. Link held his gaze on Mingo who was a greasy-faced oversized biker wearing too much leather. Link's vision started to wane as blood drizzled down his body.

"This ones a bit stronger than the others! He's tauntin' ya boss! Hurt 'im good, boss, hurt 'im good!" His men shouted.

"You come in my land, thinking you can just do whatever you want under my nose! You pay your taxes when you come here. For now, blood will do." Mingo thrust Link forward and launched him back onto the ground. The feeling was exasperating but he held on. Link was down to single-heart and was willing to give three-fourths of that heart to ease the pain. Sacrificing life for this wound was beginning to tear him asunder. The men around laughed, actually pleasured from this pain.

Still, Link remembered his resolve which made him rise to all fours. The men started to quiet down and the leader watched and groaned. Link remembered the little girl he saved, the first to call him a hero. He remembered the glad tiding he brought to the train conductors as he found their keys to get to Twinrough. Link rose to both feet, clutchin his wound with his left. He remembered the countless faces of the Gerudo he helped gain a step toward their goal. Link rose erect before the now amazed seven men. Link remembered saving a whole town, and especially remembered the worrysome face of a princess in need.

Link held his resolve.

I will not die! Link screamed through the pain. He leapt toward a motorcycle and lifted it in pure adrenaline. The men were so astounded they watched him get a leg over the bike.

Mingo hollered. "Don't just stand there! Kill that boy!"

Link had watched the cyclists well enough and kicked down the clutch and revved the engine, speeding out of there. One of the men swiped for Link with a bat and a spike nailed into it. The weapon impaled into the bike, barely missing the hero. Link wildly serpentined acros the field as Mingo and his dogs gave chase.

"He's takin' one of my steel horses!" Mingo accelerated through the traffic of his men. He beared his lance, even bumping one of his guys to get to the runaway. His bike was faster than the others and also the loudest. Mingo reeled back his lance and stabbed for Link. The hero swung his blade and threw off the attack. Mingo started to lose control and wobble back and forth. Link powered his way across the field on this motorcycle as the men trailing him started to let him go. He still clutched his side with a single hand as his bike started to give out. The piercing that one wayward biker did was to the fuel tank. The bike had got to its last leg when the hero abandoned it. The most fortunate thing to happen was that he made it to Kakariko Village's entrance.

The small town was nestled in a fairly shallow gorge with many houses in the area. Link barely managed to gather a view through his blurred vision. He stumbled through the entryway as a small crowd of Kakarikans noticed him. They hadn't seen the details at first but on second glance they realized he was in danger. Link approached the crowd of five and reached for them.

Help... Link tugged on their emotions.

The group rushed to his aid, grabbing him before he fell. Link fell unconscious and drifted into dreams. He could feel his body being handled and faint commands to get him into care. Mingo and his nasty thugs really threw off the timetable for Link. He was planning on confronting Iman in a matter of hours but with the injury he sustained it could be days.

Kakariko Village.

Dazed and confused, Link awoke.

He sat up, in his bed and immediately felt regret for the action. His side was stitched together but internal pain still coursed through. The good people of Kakariko Village had proved their concern and helped a stranger in need. Link felt better than he did and from what he could tell was at five hearts. He sat up again, slower this time, and observed the room. It was an old wooden house with a potbelly oven in the center of the room. The first floor was open with columns inter-spaced and a staircase. There was a kitchen on the left and a few couches on the left. Link made his first attempt and threw off the covers.

Can't get anything done here... Zelda needs me...

Link pressed his feet on the floor and tried to stand. He did much better than anticipated and got to a crouch before the pain started fighting him back. Link grabbed his side and started to break down. He fell back into a small nightstand filled with bottles and jars of used medicine. The sound was a ruckus as Link fell to his bottom.

"Are you okay?" A middle-aged man called. He and his wife streamed downstairs in reaction to the noise.

"Oh my goddess, don't stress yourself out!" The wife stated. "Back into bed. Back into bed."

Link did as instructed and was eased into the cozy bed.

"I'm surprised you're even standing, you took a nasty hit there." The husband said. "I'm Jon and this is my wife, Louis. We're caretakers here in Kakariko Village."

My name is Link, thank you for showing me some hospitality. He expressed.

"Ah not much of a talker are ya..." Jon started. "That's fine. We don't ask questions."

"Speak for yourself." Louis rolled her eyes.

"Now now, he's a guest and we treat him just so. Besides, anyone who can dress up like the legendary hero is welcomed in this house."

"It is a pretty good costume, which I stitched back up for ya... maybe that's why you got into all that trouble."

Trouble followed me. I ran into a gang of motorcyclists out in Hyrule Field. Mingo tried to kill me and I wound up here. Link explained, eyeing his clothes and gear by the front door.

"Looks like you must have fallen out in the field." Jon surmised.

"Don't be crazy." Louis stated in rebuttal. "It's obviously a war wound, wearing a get up like that warrants some sort of enemy."

Half-right. Link had to be impressed by his own power. Knowing now that it was empathy, he could touch on people's emotions and make them understand his own mind. Link continued. Please, I have to get going. I have something very important to finish.

Jon and Louis noticed him getting up and started to lay him back down.

"Oh no no no no no no, you are staying put." The couple stated.

Link was practically shoved underneath the covers while Louis headed for the kitchen. Jon felt his forehead and wrote down his condition in some nearby notes.

"Infections gone way down, fever to a minimum, you are healing at quite the rate." Jon conditioned. "My wife is gonna make you a meal to give you strength."

"Nothing beats my homemade cure-all soup!" Louis hollered out.

Jon smiled and Link couldn't help it. This homely couple of doctors had taken in a stranger in their home. He couldn't help but think about his guardian parents, and the love they showed him. Link would stay for now, but the mission had to go on. He thought about the place he was in and hadn't gotten a clear opportunity to view the town like he wanted.

So, what can you tell me about this place? Link tugged.

Jon nestled into a nearby comfy chair and sat back. He stroked on his greying beard and gestured toward his guest. "Have you ever been here? To Kakariko, I mean."

Link shook his head, still amazed at his own power.

"Its rare that we get outsiders, normal people I mean, been that way for some time now." Jon explained. "Until those politics started happening in Castleton. All we get now are reporters and interviewers and investigators all wanting to know something or other."

"Been a real bother!" Louis added.

"Its nice to get a real person, able or not." Jon laughed.

Link smirked. Please go on.

"Kakariko now is an old-time podunk town; me and my wife move from Castleton and settled here about thirty years now. I've seen young boys grow to strong men in that time. Kakariko is rich in its own right staying away from the newfangled and innovation and gets back to the roots and tradition."

Link nodded. All while harboring a technomancer, right?

"We beleive in God, who loves us whole-souled." Louis shouted.

Link froze. She meant goddess or goddesses right?

"Our God, Iman, has provided everything for us. When the wells dried up, he provided water, when a famine occurred he provided food, we lean upon him."

Iman, a god? Link practically tossed himself out the bed. He knew he shouldn't be surprised but the thought alone was blasphemous. Link wasn't as pious as a sage but he knew the ropes of the goddesses and this was definitely crossing the line. He held his own composure as he built up another question.

Could you explain that to me? Link asked while fidgeting a bit.

"God has made all things refreshed and in turn all he asks is that we love him. Those Goron's did not cultivate a love for Him and in turn they were banished from this humble village. They now are deserted on Death Mountain."

"A treacherous place!" Louis added.

Jon continued. "The Goron's had no interest in loving God so he incurred a wrath that of which I have never seen. The Goron's were thrown about and we have not seen them since."

"Serves those rocks right!" Louis pumped her fist.

Horrible, simply horrible. Link shook his head. Iman is a terrible man, not a god, twisting the morality of these people while boosting his own ego. What does he gain from their admiration? The Goron's would know.

"You seem pained, hurt even, what troubles you? Is it your wound?" Jon stood up.

"You don't beleive do you?" Louis interrogated.

Link shifted his eyes.

Jon bellowed. "Well answer the question, do you beleive in God?"

Link leapt out of the bed in reaction to Jon's attempted grab. Link felt his wound and grimaced in pain. He was able, but not at full health. Link managed to get the jump on the couple because of their appearance. Their eyes started to glow yellow as the area darkened around them. He could only conclude that Iman had poisoned their minds. Louis attempted a leap but missed while Link ducked underneath. The married couple gathered themselves as Link headed towards the front door.

He reached for his clothes in one swipe and powered through the door. Link emerged in the night into the strange village. Moonlight and torches lit the way as Link followed the brightest star and traveled north. Link hobbled through the path as people and torches filtered through the town. Link stopped to signal them of the danger behind him but it was for naught. The townspeople were all in technomantic jaundice trying to surround Link. The hero scurried up and through the path with Kakarikans hot on his tail. A few managed to get a hold of Link but he wrestled them off as he did. The triumph of this whole ordeal was that he was holding his side through most of the turmoil.

Once Link fought off the brave souls daring to stop him he reached the path leading north. The Kakarikans stopped chasing, realizing he was out of bounds in the border of figurative hell for the Goron's. Link looked back and still held his grace. Somehow, Iman had poisoned the mind of these people not only with technomancy but to call him a god as well. There wasn't much time and Link had to move; insult to injury he had to travel now. The mountainside was a winding trail leading up toward the peak of this foundation.

Death Mountain was famously known as the only active volcano in Hyrule. No eruptions in years but magma still flowed deep underground. The surroundings were all bad with steep cliffs, sinkholes, and the danger of burning alive but Link was not concerned about that. He needed to seek refuge with the Goron's, the apparent enemy of the Kakariko. From what he saw in Twinrough and stories all over, Goron's were a docile race, some warriors of course, and hunters and gatherers. Living among the fearsome heat of lava and making structures from earth, they were a durable people. Link wasn't sure how they would take another Hylian since the last of them banished their race. Iman was making this quest harder and harder.

Link traveled the moonlit trail and encountered tektites of a red color. He remembered these troublesome hoppers from his time in Island Bastille. In his state, he couldn't hold his shield the way he wanted which left his defenses way down. Two tektites centered on Link and the first one immediately jumped into a vertical slash. He was split into two as the second targeted. Link seized the opportunity and downed the second enemy. The enemies were much easier to dispatch now with the Master Sword and he particularly enjoyed the light show afterward. Link continued up the trail, passing up a few boulders when he spotted spike with chains wrapped around it and the metal line continuing along a pulley system. Link pressed on through the pain and applied his experience. He destroyed the stone spike with a trigger-press of the Mortar Shell. The spike erupted and the chains loosened.

He didn't have a clue to what he did but backtracking would not benefit him. Link sharpened his senses as he continued trudging along. He felt he popped a few stitches as pain kept escalating. Link took a few more steps and rounded another elbow of this trail. He passed a few more rusty boulders until he spotted five small crystals all over the path. From where he was he could easily target them. He aligned the Disc Blade gun and gathered on the trigger when greens and reds pooled on the trail. Link lowered his gun and watched three red and two green orbs lift upon the air. They floated and bobbled lightly upon the few breezes. The orbs started making shapes like a cube, tear drop, spiral, and a pyramid. The docile gelatinous balls floated on until a red one approached Link. He raised a hand to touch it when it jutted out into spikes. Link was taxed half a heart as a result of his curiosity. Link withdrew his sword and slashed the reformed orb in half.

The red ChuSphere exploded in light as the nearest green formed a spiral and whipped for Link. It grabbed his left arm as a red ChuSphere came in close as a spike ball. Link wiggled free and slashed through the red spike ball. Link stepped toward the green ChuSphere and swung. It transformed into a pyramid as Link's slash bounced off. He tried again when it turned into a cube. Link's slash got stuck in the cube as the ChuSphere started to drag Link back. The teen wriggled his sword free with a spin attack and ultimately killed the enemy. The greens were a lot more territorial than the reds and after a few careful deduction, Link managed to vanquish the dangers around him. He set up and fired the discs, striking the crystals at once, and triggering something up ahead. Link shrugged his shoulders and headed on. He felt miserable while holding his side and kept thinking about the man who did this to him. This would have been so much easier if he hadn't intervened. Link found it hard to place and keep blame on another and could only prepare himself for the next time.

Link rounded another elbow of the trail and came upon a small clearing in the midst of Death mountain. He spotted an intricate door embedded in the mountainside with a hollow arch around it. There were two waterwheels on the lower sides with ponds on each side and a small passable bridge over it. Link walked right up to it and noticed the waterwheels were inactive. Figuring it was another puzzle he withdrew the Hydra and controlled the water up and around within the arch. Link noticed there were five diamond designs upon the door with a Triforce emblem carved onto the stone door. The stone port rumbled as the sound of chains slithered within the rock bed. The door released a cloud of dust before lifting slowly to the top. Link's curiosity rose to a peak as the old wind exited from the cavern which was a sweet smelling odor. Link trusted his nose and hobbled inside with injury.

Link entered the black cave, which was only a long hall for now. There was a pinnacle of light shining brightly ahead, that made Link pick up his step, albeit slow. Link traveled the hall and came upon an open room covered with an assortment of colored moss. The room smelled like fruit and the sound was of trickling water. Link saw that a fountain resided in the room with light emanating from waters. Link approached the fountain and felt a small vibration within the room. The waters reacted and the light imposed its glory. Link averted his eyes when the light subsided and the room grew back to its original state.

"Welcome, weary traveler." A soft, soothing voice stated.

Link lifted his eyes and spotted a woman barely clothed, adorned in white robes. She was translucent as she waded the waters within. Link finally answered after closing his jaw finally.

Hello, I did not mean to intrude, but... Link started.

"You are injured?" She turned her head. "Please, come closer."

Link stayed put for a moment as this woman smiled and gestured forward. "I am wishing to help."

Link felt his trust had been shaken too many times today but felt right with this one. He stepped forward into a circle as the woman smiled and lifted her hands.

"I am a technomancer from long ago who transcended this life and transformed into the purest of technomancy. It is I and there are four more across this land who have done likewise. If you wish you could call us fairies, but the term is merely an archaic word. We help those who in need and you are surely in much."

Link smiled and nodded.

The fairy smiled in return and clasped her hands as green light shone through her fingers. The light from the waters turned green as well when the fairy formed her hand flat. The light enveloped her hand as she slowly took a stance. From the position, it looked like she was going to strike Link. The hero wouldn't be able to move fast enough when the fairy thrust forward the light and impaled Link through the heart. The water she rested in jutted out in a circular wave and converted to sparkles all across the room.

Link lifted into the air as the sparkles of the room started to float toward his injury. Once the majority of twinkles covered his injury the rest of them started to float back toward the fountain. Link then rested back on the circle he once stood on and felt his side.

It's... It's gone! Link smiled and faced the fairy as his phone reacted.

You just upgraded the Master Sword! With Farore's Courage your spin attack is empowered with green technomancy! Go ahead, try it out!

"You are a warrior, and with courage you managed to find me, chosen hero." She said. "If you find others like me, they will aid you in your quest."

Link bowed in appreciation as the light rose to glory again. In that instance th fairy was gone and the light lulled back down. The fountain was empty now save for the smell and sound. Link reverently exited, feeling refreshed and faced the path. He looked at the road he traveled and saw the drops of blood he had left. He felt his side once again and decided to hop in the pond to get clean. After that short dip, he decided to make headway and continue on to the Goron homeland.

Link decided to make use of this glorious moonlight and travel swiftly among it. Death mountain was more dangerous as one travels up with random landslides, gas chambers, and enemies scattered abroad. Link never feared any of this, in fact just the opposite, as he harnessed courage. He couldn't help but periodically look upon his left hand at the Triforce he bore. Within a few miles up from the fairy fountain he managed to find a huge entrance into Death Mountain. There were a few rough-looking boulders scattered about before the grand entrance. Link made sure to be on guard as he got closer on his approach. Link got right in the middle when the boulders started rumbling.

The rough stones jostled and lifted upright revealing round faces and upsetting expressions.

"Squatter!" One bellowed.

Link looked all around and started to reach for his shield.

"Squatter, squatter, squatter!" Others started to join.

Goron's lifted up and started stomping over toward Link.

"Where you come from!" The first Goron bluntly asked.

I'm from Faron... South of here. Link sheepishly shrunk back. These Goron's were huge, stocky and intimidating to be around. They were all light brown and hard to tell apart one another.

"Where you come from!" A second Goron followed up with a shove.

Link started to reach for shield and sword.

That second Goron continued. "Look!"

The other Goron's traded territory crossing for curiosity.

"He like us!" The Goron shoved Link's back again, amazed at how hard it was. Link's Hylian Shield was acting as the avatar to relate himself to the Goron's. The steel designed surfaced was rough like that of a Goron's back. The stomped over in joy and amazement making a deep cooing noise as they did.

"You seek brothers, no?"

Link simply smiled and played along, patting a few of the Goron's arms and shoulders.

"We make you brother!" The two speaking Goron's said in unison. "Come. Follow!" They curled into boulders and rolled into the massive hole. Link watched the other Goron's curl into dormancy as he waltzed right into the door. He traveled into the massive hole in the mountainside and was in awe of the rocky city inside.

"Brother, this Goro-Gora, city of..." The first one trailed off.

"Goron's! Sorry, he slow." The second opened his mouth in a huge gaping smile but never produced a laugh. "My name Darru. That Dimsum. We guard Goro-Gora."

Link nodded, gathering the information for himself but politely reassuring the hosts.

"We like you!" Dimsum cheesed. "We take to biggest brother!

"Make sure you stay peacefully!" Darru added.

Link wasn't sure how to read that. Either he would stay quiet or stay here in peace. Each one warranted a curious Link which happily followed the two through the city. Goro-Gora was a quaint city inside one of the dying chambers of Death Mountain. This volcano had so many chambers it could spare to have one out of activity. The place was made entirely from layered rock which the Goron's had molded and shaped into homes and buildings. Link traverses the town feeling like a celebrity with two huge escorts. He passed many Goron's - unsure of which were male and female - but happily waved to children who looked on in wonder. The deeper they got into Goro-Gora, the lower they traveled until they reached a medium-sized abode in the center. Upon it were flags with the symbol of the Goron's etched on it with reds and browns. The Goron's entered the hut without hesitation as Link hesitated for only a moment. He stepped inside the hut and was surrounded by Goron's lined against the wall.

"Squatter!" They all shouted.

Link was surprised at the moment before Darru and Dimsum quieted their kindred. They looked at Link with anger and raw untainted confusion while the hosts introduced their guest.

"We got brother here!" Dimsum grabbed Link by the shoulder and presented him to the room of Goron's.

"Brother? Brother! No squatter? He's brother?" Some of the occupants questioned.

Darru added. "Look!" Darru spun the hero around and knocked on his back. "He just like us. He brother!"

The Goron's did there signature coo and came in to hug Link. The green-clad teen started to worry more as they approached with their big tree-like arms.

"Hold it." A voice deeper than any other Goron's, rang throughout the house. Link paused as did the other Goron's in the vicinity when they turned attention to the hulk sitting by the fire. His eyes were big and black with markings of red and green over his face. He looked battle-hardened with no inkling of fat on him.

"Durran..." The Goron's slowly retreated back to the walls they once occupied. Darru and Dimsum stood by Link, awaiting Durran's words.

"Brother you say?" Durran looked over Link. "He is not big, he is not strong, how can he be a brother to the Goron's?"

Darru and Dimsum looked at each other and then to Link.

"Squatter!" They claimed.

"Durran knows what's going on, he is of Kakariko!" The big boulder-man claimed.

Link shook his head in defiance.

Durran looked to his brethren. "You aren't here to cast down fury over our refusal to worship Iman?"

Link smiled and shook his head. Just the opposite.

He started. "Durran thinks you are confident, more so than any other. Durran will hear you."

Link nodded, unsure of how to begin his mute speech. I came to Kakariko to find Iman because he is trying to hurt someone I know.

"Durran... Did not hear you..." He scratched his head.

Link nearly fell to the ground, but it was his own fault.

The muscled-stone continued. "But Durran did feel you. Durran sense great pride in you and thats a good thing. Come brother! Share in spoils with us!"

Link threw his hands up and shook them in refusal. No I couldn't possibly...

"Are you refusing this gesture that Durran asked of you?" The irritated Goron started to rise. He was huge with muscles on top of muscles and rocks all over his body. He grimaced at the guest when Link had the smart idea to go along with Durran. The Goron's easily welcomed him as huge Brutus mugs were passed all around full of thick frothy ale. Durran shoved Link while laughing and watched him tip up his cup. Link nearly spat it all out from nearly choking on the dark brown liquid.

"It bad at first." Dimsum called. "I still pray I get used to it." The guard Goron quickly chugged his pint and wiped his mouth after exhaling with much gusto.

"It good but not good, good." Darru added.

"Durran agree..." The warrior nodded and pointed. "But want to really know about guest. You travel far huh?"

Link nodded. I come from Faron in the south.

"Durran want to know why you no sound from mouth..." The lunk scratched his head.

Link decided just answering questions wasn't going to start his quest. He needed to approach things a lot better especially now that he learned of his empathy. Link took in a breathe and had the insatiable urge to take another drink. He did so and wiped his mouth and focused on the others in the room.

I need to know about Iman. Where can I find him? And what did he do to the Kakarikans? Link expressed.

"Story time!" Darru screamed out.

"Wha..." Durran turned his head.

"Tell new brother a story!" Dimsum added. The other Goron's fed into the idea as Durran smiled and shook his head.

"Durran knows you want story. Fine. I tell Link what ails this city." He cleared his throat.

Zelda would be impressed, he managed to get the conversation to go his way by turning his own curiosity onto another. The rest of the room settled in and refilled on the ale as Durran started.

"We used to be at peace with Kakariko Village for long time. We help hunt while they farm for us. Had been that way for long as can remember. Months ago, Iman start using technomancy and start making food for village. Honestly, technomancy scare us Goron's and when we scared we fight. Iman use technomancy still, knowing we don't like. That when things go weird. One at a time, villager start disappearing and coming back like nothing ever happened. Kakarikans confused but we Goron's still hunt for village. Durran and brothers go hunt one night when Iman ambush and take my three brothers. He small but strong and take my brothers into Kakariko. Durran follow and follow and follow and follow but Durran not catch up. Iman steal Goron's and take them to well bottom. Durran not see until next night when my brothers return but they not themselves. Iman use technomancy on Goron's and change them into bad. Durran no like that...

"So Durran gather brothers, all Goron warriors for war. We go into battle but never make it. Kakarikans use technomancy and try to steal brothers. Iman poison minds of friends below. Iman a bad man; he no god. We sit here for weeks, thinking way to kill technomancy and save village below. But we no progress, we drink and forget. Durran no know. Durran no know."

However crude the story was, Link got the general points from it. Iman must be testing his technomancy on these innocent people and when he decided to expand his knowledge and research the effects on other species. Durran said he's been at this for months, and judging from when Dragmire left the throne the conspiracy must have occurred right there. Link stood up, his heart going out to the Goron's in the room and in the city. The Goron's stared at Link in passion and admiration.

I'm going to go find Iman. Link took a step, reaching for his sword and shield.

"You fight for Goron's? You find Iman?" Durran stood and questioned.

You have a friendship with the ones in the village, and Iman took that away from you. It's my duty as chosen hero to use my courage to help others.

"You are our hero... Tell us brother, what is name?" Dimsum asked.

Link. He nodded.

"Link. We never forget you." Darru added. The other Goron's expressed similar ideals and gratitude. The familiar coo resounded throughout the hut as Link couldn't help but feel empowered.

"Darru know it tough at well bottom. Regular Kakarikan no survive down there. Heat is hot. Here take this."

You received the Goron Scale! This scale thickens your skin against heat and also turns your clothes red as an effect. You will be impervious to heat and reduced damaged to fire but your technomantic power is reduced by half. You are red-hot hero!

Link applied the Goron Scale to center of his equipment belt and watched as his clothes seeped to red with a few light markings on the sleeves. He felt cooler and didn't realize how striking he was in red. Link gave his goodbyes to the Goron's and went to complete the mission set before him.

Princess Zelda and the rest of Hyrule were depending on this young man to fulfill the destiny. He knew he couldn't solve the larger puzzle without willing in the pieces. He knew gathering the info on the villages would gain him broader aspect of the villainy entrenched among it. Link now had his goal; both sides in need of saving. He headed out of Goro-Gora and then turned for the mountain trail. He wondered what "well bottom" was: maybe a backstreet bar or a hideout within the village. Link pondered these things in between taking out mountain Tektite's and ChuSphere's on the way down. He made short work of the journey back to the Kakarikan border. Now that he was technomanticly healed he could traverse the place no problem.

Link's trudged across the border and immediately spotted a few midnight strollers passing through. Link hid behind a few crates and peered over the top of them. The major passageways were being watched by villagers with yellowed eyes acting as spotlights. Link wondered just what possessed these people as his phone vibrated.

You're not going to harm innocent ones are you? Nor are you strong enough to fight raw technomancy. Maybe sneaking is your best option to find the bottom of the well, champ.

Bottom of the well... Link realized. The phone seemed to have translated the muddled Goron speech into Link's latest destination. The bottom of the well sounded creepy which raised questions like what exactly was down there. There were many more questions raised but none to have time for. Link had to act quickly if he wanted to sneak past the belligerent villagers. He always wondered whether or not this was a peaceful place while accordingly, he was sneaking past sentries. Link managed to get past four stationary villagers and four roaming ones when he came upon a crossroad. On the left, was a graveyard entrance where souls were laid to rest and on the right was the town square. The more likely option was the town square, where citizens could gather among shoppes and take water.

Link quickly sorted his options and continued past another foursome of sentries. They were easily crossed as Link emerged from a thoroughfare into a quaint plaza. There were tall homes with bodegas on the foundation level. The details couldn't be made out from the night sky but Link could definitely tell from the black hole in the middle of the square.

The bottom of the well, where Iman resides... Link swallowed. He approached the wide well mouth and saw it was filled with darkness. He wondered just how the village got water if Iman lived here. Something snapped in the distance and Link turned in reaction. The possessed villagers had pinpointed his location and were beginning to surround Link. He couldn't help but feel pain for them as well as pity. Control of Iman's doing, had corrupted them and with a hero in their presence they unknowingly refuse. Link lost his apprehensions about the well as he placed a hand on the mouth of the well.

The citizens closed in but they were too slow.

Link jumped into the well.
