After the reunion with his mother, Zuko talked to Katara privately outside.

"Wow," said Katara surprised.

"There are two things that I remember her telling me," said Zuko. Katara listened with interest, and Zuko said, "One, moms will fight back when their babies are in danger. Two, no matter how much things seem to change, never forget who I am. It doesn't seem like she followed either of those."

"Still, she did what she could to protect you. You're not angry with her are you?" Katara asked.

"Actually, I'm relieved," said Zuko, as he smiled.

"I'm glad," Katara said as she smiled back to Zuko. "It's ironic though, you know that she wanted you to always remember who you are even though she forgot who she was."

"Heh, yeah it is. I'm just glad she's alive," said Zuko, then he made a dark face.

"You have been sleeping right?" Katara asked.

"Yes. I was just reminded of a nightmare I had, but I don't think it's one I'll have again," Zuko replied.

Katara looked at Zuko with concern, but before either of them could say anything more Sokka approached.

"Hey, I'm not interrupting anything am I?" Sokka asked as noticed the worried look on his sister's face.

"No," said Zuko.

"Well, Aang is ready to go," said Sokka.

Zuko looked at Katara confused.

"Aang wants to head back to Yu Dao to watch the ceremony of the new government. I told him there would be a celebration and he invited us to Yangchen's Festival," Katara explained.

"Yangchen? The airbending Avatar before Aang?" Zuko asked.

"That's right," said Katara.

"I won't be there," said Zuko.

"Why? I'm sure it'll be fun," said Sokka.

"I've asked my mother to come back to the capital with me, and she has agreed to come with her family for a visit. I'll probably have my uncle go in my place. If he's willing," said Zuko.

"It's important to spend time with her while you can," said Katara as she touched her necklace.

"Yeah," said Zuko.

"Well, I hate to ruin this moment, but Aang wants to go now," said Sokka.

"I guess I better get going," Katara said to Zuko, as Sokka walked away.

"Okay," said Zuko awkwardly.

Katara hugged Zuko and she said, "I'll write you until I have decided what I want to do."

"Want to do?" Zuko asked.

"Your marriage situation," Katara whispered in Zuko's ear. He blushed, then she pulled away and said, "I would like it if you wrote back."

"I will," said Zuko.

Katara walked over to Sokka and Aang. She got on Appa, and Aang said, "Yip, yip."

Zuko headed over to his mother.

"Your friends left?" Ursa asked.

"Yeah, they're heading to Yu Dao," Zuko replied.

"I told you about what happened to me after I left, but you haven't told me what happened to you," said Ursa.

"They aren't exactly pleasant memories," said Zuko.

"I see," said Ursa. She looked down, and she felt guilty about not being there.

Zuko looked as his mother, "Mom, don't worry. I am happy now. Everything I had to go through has made me who I am, someone who keeps fighting even though it's hard."

Ursa smiled, as she remember that was what she told Zuko when he was younger.
