It had been over 24 hours. Still no Romano. Her grandfather was sure that he was just out with friends or something, but he didn't know about the argument. If she told him about it then she'd have to explain why they fought.
Felicia text him over and over again, begging and praying that her older brother was okay. She had decided, she would leave it for another few hours, and if she hadn't heart from her brother, then she was going to have to tell her grandfather.
Her brother was too important. Worth more than keeping this secret, or any.
'I'm giving you A few more hours.. If you don't reply then I'm telling grandpa about everything. Just please tell me that you're safe.'
She held her phone to her chest, looking up at the ceiling as she waited for something to happen. Just anything, but she knew that it wouldn't. He was sure not to reply to her. He always did this to her when she needed him most. She was ready to nod off, her eyes closing when she was disturbed.
She jumped, her phone ringing against her chest. It was Ludwig. It was quite late already, making her wonder why he was calling her.
"Hello? What's up?" She couldn't hide the disatisfaction in her voice.
"You told him without me!?" His voice was stern, making her frown.
"How did you find out? Romano's been missing for a whole day!"
"He's in Spain. Gilbert got a call from Antonio." He still seemed so peeved.
"I had it all planned... I-I didn't think he'd... He just walked away a-and left me in the store.." She hiccuped. Just the past week alone had been a rollercoaster. She just wanted everyone to be normal and happy.
"He left you alone!?" Anger, she knew that she shouldn't have told him.
"H-He must have just gone straight to Spain from here... H-he must have had his reasons... he hasn't replied to any of my texts." She bit her lip, waiting for him to say something, but all she heard was a sigh. "..I won't tell grandpa without you... Promise."
"..Thank you. Please just be careful... He'll come back and calm down soon enough. You need to just try not to stress out for now.. It's not good for the baby." He seemed to be lightening up.
He at least managed to make her smile after yesterday. He was right, as always. She had to do everything she could to just keep smiling, for her little bambino. "...Do you know what gender you'd prefer?"
He seemed to choke down the phone. "I've only known for a week... I'm still coming to terms with it... I just need you to be okay."
"Yeah... I will be. I promise.. I should get some sleep." She leant back against the pillows, trying not to yawn into the mic. "Ciao."
"Gute Nacht. I'll text you if I hear from Antonio or Romano again."
She felt angry at her brother. He could have been dead in a ditch, yet it was his boyfriend that told someone. And not even to her or Ludwig. He could have at least phoned her after. Romano could have at least text her back. She'd have to really tell him off when she next saw him.
She hoped he wasn't going to ignore her, or that he was going to apologise for everything.. Even if it wasn't in his nature. She deserved it.
She wasn't ready to sleep yet though, even if she had told Ludwig that. He was the one who disturbed her in the first place! She started to play with her hair, red locks weaving through her hands as she thought. She wasn't all that sure of what she should do with the baby yet.
Didn't people talk to them? She hadn't known her mother, and she had been the youngest. The only person who could maybe even tell her about pregnancy would be the one who drove 15 hours to get to Spain. The bastard.
"...What are you going to be?... I like the idea of a baby boy... But I guess you might not even be a boy even after you've been born... It's okay though. Mama and Papa are going to love you anyway... I hope you have his eyes."
She slowly rubbed in circles on her stomach, she had no one else to talk to, so talking to something that would one day respond seemed like the best idea. At least Ludwig wasn't so upset anymore, then maybe next time she spoke to him, Felicia could get him to talk to the baby too.
