Chris's POV

He wasn't scared...He wasn't scared...He wasn't scared! Who is he trying to trick? He was actually scared. Somewhat frightened. And the worst part was that he was scared of his own family who he loved with all of his heart...Martin, Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy. He was afraid of what they would do! That's why he was told not to tell anyone about his powers or to tell them about him being the one and only (at this time) Messiah. They would react badly!

As Chris plopped down onto his bed, it registered in his head that they were his FAMILY and that they'd understand. If they didn't understand, they would have kicked him to the curb already...Maybe.

He didn't know how they would react if they got tired or scared of him or his powers. Would they simply demand for him to leave and never come back, or would they do something before kicking him out?

Worse case scenarios flashed through his head and he almost sobbed. But the moving of the automatic door to his room grabbed his attention. Aviva walked in and the door closed. Chris quickly turned away from her so she wouldn't see his thoughts that were plainly painted on his face. Normally, Martin was the open-book of the two with Chris being somewhat secretive. But he couldn't keep his emotions down...not today!

He heard slight shuffling noises behind him before Aviva sat down right next to him. They stayed silent for many minutes before Aviva finally spoke.

"Chris-"

"What?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"If your fine," she leaned her head towards his shoulder, "you wouldn't be avoiding me! You wouldn't be avoiding the rest of the crew!"

Chris just barely flinched when he heard that but he kept looking away from her.

"You wouldn't be avoiding Martin, your brother, if you're okay!"

"I'm not avoiding you guys!" Chris finally snapped.

"Then why aren't you out there with us in main room? You've been in here all day by yourself." Aviva's tone turned from questioning to concerned and her silver-grey eyes stared up at him.

"Because..."

"Because why?" Aviva leaned against his side before sighing in frustration, "Why do you have yourself burrowed up in here like a ground hog in winter? Can't you came and talk to us?"

"Iva," Chris muttered her nickname before moving away from her to face her, "I just don't want to talk right now."

"Chris," Aviva stared right into his coffee-colored eyes, "you know you can talk to me about anything, right? You can talk to any of us. We're family and we'll understand."

"Oh," Chris glared at her angrily and she noticed his eyes seemed to sparkle with tears slightly, "they really understood when they were accusing me of trying to murder my older brother, didn't they? They were so understanding when they were willing to kick me out, weren't they?"

"Chris," Aviva whispered cautiously in a soft voice, "I know you don't blame them from that. Not really. You know that Martin was being overshadowed and Koki (as much as she is a great friend) just got caught up in the moment with her computers being destroyed, and JZ was just scared. That's all."

"I know that," Chris replied somewhat rudely, "it's just that...I don't know!"

That startled Aviva enough that she knew something was wrong. Chris was never rude unless he was feeling trapped like a wounded animal does. She knew that Chris could be sarcastic sometimes, but he rarely ever said anything harshly. She also knew that although he didn't know everything, he hardly ever said that he didn't know. Especially not the way he had just stated it.

"Chris," Aviva began only to stop as Chris looked.

"Iva," he glanced from her to the door and back, "Can you please leave me alone?"

"Christopher F. Kratt!" She shouted out before standing up, "Being alone is the last thing you need right now!"

"I said leave."

"No," She crossed her arms and glared at him determined to not back down and leave him alone when he needed her most, "I am NOT leaving you alone! Now either you accept that or-"

"Or what?" Chris was slightly nervous to go against the steadfast lady in front of him.

"Or...Or..." she stuttered while trying to make up a threat to get him to leave his room.

"Go back to the main room, Aviva!" She suddenly felt as if something warm had enveloped her and she disappeared in a flurry of green lights. The next thing she knew was that she was in the big room that Chris had told her to go and the others were staring at her in shock.

'We'll be here for you when you need us, CK!' She thought before rolling her eyes and walking to the crew. 'You're just too stubborn for your own health.'

Chris laid back onto the bed. He loved Aviva, he really did but she was getting on his last nerve at the moment. Couldn't she understand that he needed time to be alone? Time to collect his scattered thoughts? He didn't want to go out there and break down crying. He knew that no one would laugh at him if he did. They would crowd around him to check on him. Aviva would be glad that he left his room, Martin would grab him tightly just like he used to when they were younger, Koki would be making sure that there was nothing wrong with him physically, and Jimmy would give him a pizza slice to show that he was trying to make him feel better. But that's not what you needed right now.

Before he could think or toss and turn on the bed anymore, a hazy cloud of red smoke drifted into his room through an open window. He bolted up in surprise before moving to stand. The smoke dissipated to show an older aged woman wearing an all red dress that had some gold embedded into it at the seams. Her long flowing hair was a mix of midnight black and pearly white and it almost seemed to have a mind of its own as it swirled around behind her. Her face wasn't pale but it wasn't completely tan either and she had small wrinkles around her mouth and eyes. Her eyes were a shade of pink cherry blossoms with tiny specks of gold hidden into them. Chris noticed all of that within three or four seconds of her appearance.

'She seems familiar,' Chris thought before a quick memory floated through his mind. It was him when he was eight and this woman was before him again.

"Yes, young one," she spoke as if she had read his mind, "I am here for you."

"Why would you need to be here for me?" Chris asked quietly as the lady moved closer to him. "And why do you call me 'young one'? I'm 24!"

"Young one," she seemed to gaze down at him even though he was slightly taller than her, "I am here to guide you. And age means nothing to me. You could be 50 and I'd still call you young. For you see, for someone who has lived for centuries (even thousands of years) 24 is such a small number."

"Oh," Chris just stood looking at her in surprise.

"Young one," she pulled him down to sit right next to her on the bed, "you must go talk to your friends."

Chris must have slipped out of his shocked state because he almost jumped up, "why does everyone insist that I talk this out?"

"Young one," she gently tightened her grip on his shoulder so he couldn't escape, "they are correct. You must talk this out with them." Chris opened his mouth to state something but she dismissed him and continued, "you will feel much better after. And I think they will feel better too."

"What? Why would they feel better?"

Without saying anything, a misty screen of light appeared in front of them. It showed the rest of the crew in the main room.

"Well," Martin's voice echoed through the screen as he stood by Aviva, "what did he say?"

"He doesn't want to talk," Aviva almost sobbed, "he wouldn't even talk to me before shoving me out."

"Oh honey," Koki rubbed her shoulder to comfort her, "He's just scared."

"Scared of what?"

"Scared of losing us," Koki answered honestly before moving straight in front of her best friend and looking her in the eye. "He's frightened to lose you! He's afraid that his powers will get us hurt!"

"Oh," Aviva buried her face with her arms, "I wish he would just come talk to us. We're his family! He doesn't have to hide things from us!"

"Shhh," Jimmy tried to comfort her by holding out his gaming stick towards her, "How about playing some Kratt Adventures courtesy of me. It'll get your mind off of things."

"I guess so..."

"Okay!" Jimmy jumped up and turned everything on, "Do you want to play Leaping Lizards, Rattlesnake Roadway, or..."

The screen faded after that. Chris looked back from the door to the woman beside him.

"I should go talk to them," he muttered before getting up and moving towards the door. When he turned back to say thanks to the mysterious woman, she was gone. Wind blew through the room and a voice whispered softly.

"Be safe, young one," the wind flew out the window, "I will see you again."

With that, Chris left his room to talk to his family.
