The medical room hadn't changed since the day I was born it was still white and cold. The walls were lined with stainless steel cabinets and carts with monitors and baskets full of supplies in plastic wrapping. A stainless steel hospital bed lay surrounded by more monitors, IV pumps, and an assortment of bulky machines. "I apologize for the outdated equipment but rest assured they are still very much capable of the task at hand" Carlisle spoke as he motioned both Jake and I towards the bed.

I laid there staring up at the immaculately white ceiling tiles over my head not a single speck of dust was to be found; Jake planted himself firmly by my side. "Ok darling you need to raise your top over your abdomen for me, I need to squeeze some of this jelly onto your belly it will be cool for a few seconds…" cool was an understatement it was freezing. "…Honey can you turn off the lights?" Huh, that's when I noticed my grandmother making her way into the room just in time to do as she was asked. She gracefully made her way over to us and took a seat on the other side of my bed not once removing her attention from me, her smile was comforting. She was absolutely beautiful if my mother couldn't be here then I was glad it was her. "You okay sweetie can I get you another pillow?" She asked thoughtfully as the small monitor that sat on top of a large box mounted over an odd looking keyboard with what looked like a giant black ball popping out of the center, flickered to life. "Er… um… I'm good grandmother, just anxious to see her!" Her smile widened as she reached out and rubbed the length of my arm the way she used back when I was only a child and had a bad dream.

"So hum, crazy thing Carlisle, when we were on the way over the baby started moving, and we actually got to see…" before he could finish the sound of his voice must of woken her up, my stomach began to roll back and forth as I imagined her doing summersaults in there. Carlisle and Esmes' expressions were mixed, Esme's face glowed at the show my little one put on while Carlisle studied her movements placing his cool hand over her causing her to stop; the dance party came to an abrupt halt. "Well, that was interesting, how long has she been active?" Carlisle asked.

"For just a few hours." said Jake and my tummy twitched. Carlisle looked down at my flat stomach curiously.

"It sounds strange but she seems to go crazy in there when she hears Jakes voice." I finished looking up at Jake in time to watch a small smirk form from the corner of his mouth. Great now he's going to have an even bigger head!

"Well, say something else son." Carlisle asked as he placed his cool hand back on my tummy.

"Well, hum what do you know want I want…" she fluttered again but this time on the other side of Carlisle's hand.

"Keep talking Jake." Carlisle asked as he moved his hand back over to where she was at.

"I want her to have her mother's beautiful chocolate brown eyes and…" this time she darted out from under Carlisle's palm and shot to the other side of my belly.

"Strange, just strange." Carlisle mumbled as he scribbled some notes into his journal "Okay well, she seems to not like me!" He joked as he picked up a small gray plastic control looking thing. "When your mother was pregnant with you her uterus was impenetrable. We had no idea what was going on in there but it is worth a try!" His smile was genuine and comforting, "this is a transducer it is for the sonogram machine. It will help us see what is going on in there." He placed it over the cold jelly spreading it evenly around my belly sending a prickly sensation throughout my skin. We searched the monitor for something, anything when a swish of a movement flashed across the screen accompanied by a small faint heart beat that floated out of the speakers and it was so lovely. "Well that was much faster and stronger than the little flutter we felt earlier." My grandfather looked over at me both confused and excited, two expressions mashed into one. The transducer danced back and forth over the jelly searching for our baby when it happened again a tiny foot kicked gently against the transducer making my stomach jump and then just as quickly it vanished, her movements were fast that was for sure. "Well, that is always a good sign, at least the baby has feet as opposed to paws" Carlisle teased "Now if only I could get this little one to stay still long enough so I can collect some measurements. It seems like he or she got our vampire speed that's for sure" He jokes again. I could hear Esme giggle with excitement as I looked up at my husband who hadn't taken his eyes off of me. He leaned over and kissed my forehead. Carlisle spent a few minutes looking for the baby but had no luck. He wiped away the now warm jelly from my belly and helped me sit up then went back to the monitor and started pressing buttons pulling up a very blurry image of our little ones foot, he drew a line from the tip of its toe down the heel. Whatever he saw must have been strange because he sat there re-measuring over and over again. We sat there staring at that perfect little foot with five perfect little toes. Jake propped himself up next to me on the hospital bed his palm pressed firmly against my stomach like he was waiting to feel the baby move again. Carlisle spun around towards us taking our focus off the screen and back onto him. "We have to talk kiddo…" his voice stern but kind, he pulled up his off white stool with stainless steel legs and sat down in front of us. "…Now as you all know there is no other record of this every happening before. Being half human half vampire makes your body hard to predict so I really don't know how your body will react to this pregnancy…"

"What do you mean?" Jake interrupted making the baby dance against his warm touch.

"Well, it took a while before we, or you Jake figured out that Bella needed to consume blood in order to sustain the both of you…" he said pointing at me. "There is also the fact that your baby is measuring at five months gestation."

"Whoa what? Five months?" Esme was the one who spoke up this time.

"Yes I was just as shocked as you are my love. Now according to you Nes, you haven't had a menstrual cycle since last month, and that they are always regular correct?"

"Yes." Lord this was awkward.

"And the two of you started having relations without contraception around Jacobs's birthday?"

"Correct." Really fucking awkward, a gasp from Esme let us all know that she'd already figured out what Carlisle was about to tell me.

"Well that only means that you are technically a few weeks along two to be exact but we'd already figured that out in the cabin…" he was rambling now. "What I am trying to say is Renesmee you managed to go through half a pregnancy cycle in two weeks which means that you should be giving birth in two maybe three weeks from now." We all sat there in silence trying to take this all in.

"How… but, I am not even showing yet."

"That is a concern of mine too, but there are some women who start to show very early into pregnancy and some who don't begin to show until the very end. I am sure you have noticed certain changes in your body…" I think that was in reference to my nice new set of boobs. "…Now sweet heart I think we need to call a family meeting and figure out what our next step should be but that is completely up to you."

"I agree…" Jake said, staring back at me. "…I think it is time we fill everyone in on the baby and our plan on keeping you two safe and with this kid growing at such a rapid rate we really don't have much time to wait." Everyone in the room had their eyes glued on me.

"Yes of course. We will tell everyone tonight but Jake and I would like to travel into La Push for a much needed visit with the packs and of course my father in law, if that is okay with you granddad." I had a feeling these next few weeks were going to be absolutely insane and Billy deserved our somewhat undivided attention. Everyone agreed and Jake took my hand in his as we made our way out of the basement and into the garage. He pulled the keys out of his pocket and hit the unlock button. The sleek lights flashed on and off from the black Audi A4 with blacked out windows parked at the very end of an extremely long line of very expensive cars went off! I looked up at Jake who was smiling from ear to ear. "I am kind of glad they blacked out the tint. It will make it so much easier to get around town without someone recognizing us." He said and I couldn't agree more since it had only been a few years since we'd left Forks.
