My feet carried my body faster as tree branches hit against my legs, cutting the sides of them so blood lightly dripped down my legs. I didn't know what was out there, but it was going to get me and fast. "Paige, you don't have to be afraid of me." I heard a voice say, coming through the trees I saw the perfect looking teeth. I fell to the ground, as the woman came through the trees.
She was my mother, a crumbling face hidden by deep secrets, but dressed nicely on the outside. She was wearing a black pants suit with a red blouse. Her shoes were the black boots that she wore when she went missing. Long red hair that tumbled down her back in small waves, but her deep blue eyes that she shared were red. "You don't have to be afraid, good luck tomorrow. I'll see you very soon and things will be okay. Stay away from the wolves and your mother loves you."
I woke up, holding a pillow to my face trying not to scream as Seth opened my door, looking worried at me. "You okay?" He asked, looking at me. "I heard you got in a fight with Paul tonight, I was getting off parole when he got on." He clarified, as I sat up, turning on the lamp beside my bed.
"I had a bad dream, I was running through the forest and then I heard my mother's voice. She looked the same, she was always unnaturally pale, but she shimmered a bit and red eyes. She told me that I didn't have to be afraid and that she'd see me soon. She told me good luck and to stay away from the wolves." I replied, curling up to my chest. "What are you patrolling for? Paul never told me."
"Vampires. We kill vampires and what you described was a vampire." He replied, "Throw on a pair of sweatpants. We need to go see Sam."
"It's not like I have a dance competition in five hours to be at." I replied, showing that I was already in sweatpants. "I'll text Parker and tell him I'll meet him and we'll just head on to Port Angeles, call werewolves how you have to and tell your mom something. I'll start carrying things to the car." I replied, grabbing the bag that I would need along with the hanger for my dress as we headed downstairs.
The early October weather had so far been good, it was a big colder than autumns that what I was used to, but the coldness make me more prone to coffee. I sat in the passenger seat, trying to search for the red eyes that I had seen in my dreams. Then shook my head as I felt the body heat of Leah and Seth, both carrying the clothes that they were going to wear today when we went to La Push.
"You smell a bit like leech." Leah replied, "It's mixed in with your scent that if it wasn't for that dream we would have never got it. It's like Nessie's smell, but a hell of a lot weaker and different." Leah replied, as I looked at her. "I'm also a wolf." She stated as Seth pulled out of the driveway.
"I felt her, I felt her hands on my wrist when I woke up, but the moment I was up. It was like it never happened, the only thing different is that she gave me her wedding ring that she had." I replied, holding it between my two fingers.
"Your room didn't have any distinct smell." Seth replied, "The ring does also. Go to sleep Paige. We'll wake you up when we get to La Push."
I was in a castle as my feet slowly carried me towards the laughter that I had heard. "Marcus." I heard my mother giggle, "You can talk to her when she comes up. Remember, I pulled her dreams away so she could talk to us. I'm glad you figured out how to drain the venom so she could live like a normal kid, thank you for giving me a child. Paige?"
"Mom?" I whispered as I opened a door to a lavish room with a couple sitting on the couch as I stopped. My mother was sitting there, smiling softly.
"Come and sit dear, I'm sorry for taking away dreams that you are having. It's the only way I can talk to my lovely daughter." I sat on the chair beside the couch as I looked at her. "How are you liking Forks? The Cullens were supposed to adopt you, but they since the papers to Charlie Swan though. They'll be there for Thanksgiving though."
"It's fine.." I replied, laying my hands in my lap. "Who's this?" I asked, nodding to the man on the couch as I looked at him softly. I could see features of my face in his, the same nose, same lips, same high cheekbones. Though, along with it the same thin black hair.
"This is your actual father, Marcus. It took him many centuries to find love again and he found it through me. Thanksgiving you'll have to answer and important question my dear. We've talked it over and we decided to give a choice in your life."
"What choice?" I asked, my voice breaking, as I grabbed her hand. "Mom…. I've missed you."
"I've missed you so much sweetie. I'm always here though." She replied, pulling me into a hug. "You have to know your choices though and know things. We're not human anymore, we're vampire and by some miracle I had survived birth and pregnancy to you. Marcus would come when you were asleep and dad on business trips and suck out the venom so you could have a normal child life until you were eight. Then your mind advance like you should had."
"You look so much like my mother." Marcus replied, rubbing a hand on my face as I curled up to my mother more, confused. What was going on, my mind tried to claw to my dream, but it wouldn't wake up.
"On Thanksgiving when Bella and Edward Cullen come down for dinner, you make your choice then. If you want to meet your father and see me, tell them to bring you to Volterra, if you want to stay with us permanently, tell them to take you to the Volturi."
"What if I don't want anything to do with you?" I snapped, looking at him. "What have you done to be a father to me?" I asked, standing up and looking at me.
"I gave you a normal childhood! I funded your dancing! I've helped in ways that you don't know child!" He yelled, as I rolled my eyes and walked out the door.
"We're here." Seth replied as I sat up quickly, holding my chest as I tried to breathe. "You have a bit more vampire smell to you, but it's like Nessie." He replied, as we got out of the car. "She's half vampire and half human." I stopped dead in my tracks as he looked at me. "You can tell the whole pack at once."
Paul's arms wrapped around me the moment that I stepped in the door, "I'm not letting a vampire touch you ever." He growled, pulling me to his chest. I let him, trying to avoid what was going on.
"So what do you think happened?" Sam replied, looking at me as Emily handed me a cup of coffee. "Let's try to get this done quickly."
"I know what happened." I replied, "My mother was turned into a vampire and can contact me through my dreams. She told me to stay away from you guys, which I never listened when she said things like that anyway. Though, I've had a different father my whole life and he lives in Italy and is a vampire also. I have a month to decide if I want to meet him. I'm half vampire and he sucked the venom out of me a lot when I was little so I can age normally. They want me to go to Italy and live with them."
