Chapter 11

Percy POV

Blackjack had soared through the night, the wind blasting by us. Storm clouds had surrounded us from all four directions, closing us into the darkness. It was nothing for me as my enhanced vision saw clearly through the darkness like nightvision goggles. We were soaring straight for New York, the first cardinal god I have to take down is there.

The dark clouds turned into hot steam that burned my skin. Eurus was the east wind, and he was known for being unlucky. This is not going to go down well for me, considering I'm definitely not the luckiest person in the world. Blackjack started to falter as the acid-like rain started to hurt his dark hide.

"Head back to base for now I'll call you back," I patted his mane.

'You sure boss?' He neighed.

"Yes and I told you, stop calling me boss or else no more sugar cubes for you," and with that, I used his back as a springboard and launched myself out. Blackjack went the opposite direction as I zapped forward until I landed on the very tip of the Empire State Building. This was a good vantage point as I saw a hurricane heading this way coming from the Atlantic and in the eye of that storm was a humanoid figure. Vanishing into the steam around me, it made mist travel way easier for me.

I appeared way above the hurricane, my body was parallel to the sea as I had my back on the figure. It did not seem to have noticed me yet. Then his head jerked up, he wore red and white armor that had steam literally rolling off of it. Orange feathery wings sprouted from his back as it kept him from falling into his own hurricane. He held a vase, hot water boiling inside of it. He looked middle age, his hair in between black and gray and wrinkles lining his face. He seemed to be tired. The odd thing about Eurus was his eyes. They were like solid light blue orbs. No pupil or white part at all, just a teal colored nugget with electricity coursing through them.

He held the jar under his arm, his body becoming parallel to the water below him. He gripped the jar as tight as possible as all of a sudden, boiling water started shooting out of it like a gattling gun. Jets of water shot straight at me which I just avoided as easily as I avoid arrows. He couldnt land a single hit on me, not even as near as 10 inches away from me. I drew out Skia, its blade dripping with darkness. She was eager for some golden blood as she hummed with excitement. Dropping down, I flashed forward, Skia trailing behind me as she left shadows in her wake. It was like I was running down the side of the building as water molecules solidified beneath my feet. Frustration evident in his face as the gap between us decreased to 5 meters. A silver star blast forth as I cracked behind the wind god.

"Nocturnal Oracle, Star Blitz," I said as I had my back to him. He had already stopped shooting out water as it seemed he was frozen in place. I looked back over to him but there was nothing left but an inverted floating pot and golden ichor which were both sucked into the blades of Skia, the weapon humming in happiness. Immediately, the hurricane dissolved as if it was sucked back into the sky. Skia suddenly shifted to howl form, the crescent glaive gripped in my right hand. Nothing seemed to be different until I flipped the glaive over and saw the golden compass on the underside of the hand guard. The four arrows were stationary and non-moving, except for the east which glowed an orange kind of gold.

He won't be reforming any time soon, considering he was being controlled which removed him the will to take control of his body. I felt energized from the extra power I had gotten from the old wind god which I know kinda sounds bad but what could I do? Skia absorbs any living thing she cuts through.

I zapped back to the top of the empire stare. I could see a slight glimpse of Olympus from way above me. Then, I jumped into a shadow, appearing somewhere in Texas. The town seemed deserted as howling winds with sand and rain whipped everywhere.

"Shift," my assassin clothes changed into the ninja armor to protect my body from the stinging sand. I flipped down the visor secretly hidden in my ninja mask to keep my eyes from catching any sand as well. Skia growled hungrily, ready for more golden ichor and essence to eat. Thank god these cardinal gods aren't that powerful, it's easy to take them down and get this over with.

It was pretty much nothing but a wasteland right now, the town I mean. Sand literally just bellowing everywhere and obscuring my vision. I could barely see 5 meters infront of me. I couldn't also sense much water as the wind is pretty dry as well.

Then out of nowhere, a blast of pure energy shot out. My senses barely noticing the concentration of energy to shoot out the blast. It had grazed the side of my face as blood dripped out. My eyes widen with anticipation, instincts and senses suddenly boosting up. Then I felt a presence appear out of nowhere from behind me, my body once again went on auto pilot as I did a somersault in there to dodge another bolt of energy.

I zapped backwards and was directly beside the one who had shot the bolt. His body went rigid as he probably felt the power rolling of off me. One clean slice and Skia had cleaved him in half. Well, that's what I had thought. He was made of sand and a gap had appeared where Skia passed through. My eyes grew wide with surprise. His gold and black armor shimmered on, a celestial bronze broadsword already going straight for my face.

"Cry!" Immediately, my blade shifted quickly back into dual glaive form as I caught the broadsword mid-swing on to one of the blades. I grunted in pain. Heavy, the swing hurt like hell and catching in unevenly on my blade was the worst idea I could have ever gotten. But then I realized, 'use this to you advantage' Nyx's voice whispered in my head. As the broadsword pushed down on to the blade on my right, I let Skia dip down to that side and twist around causing the broadsword to keep moving and embed itself on to the floor. Took this as my chance, Skia came down with so much forced it had also struck itself on the sandy floor. A shower of fine gold dust was sucked into Skia again as well as the broadsword that was left impaled on the ground. I flipped Skia over and checked the golden compass. The arrow pointing south was glowed a dark gold. Now I have two of the cardinal wind gods essence.

The brewing sandstorm dissipated but the town was still covered in sand which I didn't want to clean up so I just shadow travelled on to one of the supports of the Golden Gate Bridge. Another storm was raging out on see. Waves that grew more than 10 feet high was raining destruction everywhere on to shore. Gigantic droplets of water flew everywhere and damnnn they sting. Winds howling. Lightning flashed everywhere and thunder echoed in the night. Zephyrus was actually the strongest cardinal wind god. It will probably take sometime to defeat him.

A flash of lightning and a boom of thunder acted as a flashbang as my hearing and eyesight blurred. But then my instincts and other senses didn't dull. A being had flashed all the way behind my senses' blindspot. A bow that seemed to be aimed at me was coursing with energy in his hand that had shot forward, like an arrow soaring straight for the small of my back. I waited for the last minute until it was a few meters away from me and as quick as possible, I spun around, Skia swinging into a downward slash and cutting through the bolt of lightning as if it was paper. A sonic boomed blasted out of where the arrow and Skia had made contact. I was knocked back a few inches as I stood my ground to the blast, my clothes ruffling out.

I grinned as I readied my blade once again. I guess this is what I have become, someone thirsty for bloodshed, excited to spill more blood. We both zapped forward, black lightning clashing with blue lightning. More flashes of lightning surrounded us as he fired arrow after arrow after arrow. But they were easily cut through by Skia with slashes. Not that much of a challenge, which was kind of disappointing. He kept raining arrows but they were just cut up, I even had my eyes closed. It seemed like he was wearing clothes woven out of lightning. It caused the hair on the back of my neck to stand up on all ends.

'Perseus, finish Zephyrus as soon as possible, as well as Boreas. The hunters are currently enganged in battle, and it seems like they can take that much more of a beating. Lycaon had sent some of his werewolves to take the hunt down it seems. We need you there as soon as possible, do you copy?' Hecate spoke, a militaristic vibe in her voice. The situation is serious now it seems.

'Copy that,' as her presence disappeared from inside my head, my mind went blank as all reason vanished from my head and was replaced by animal instincts.

I zapped forward one last time a double faint star trailed behind me. "Nocturnal Oracle, Star Blitz 2." Skia now coated in gold blood as I was now behind Zephyrus who had melted into a floating ball of electricity that ended up being sucked into Skia. Skia shifted back to howl form and now, a ball of lightning now glowing on the west arrow. Now, only Boreas remained.

I shadowtravelled again. I appeared on a roof of what seems to be a blue castle, snow covered everywhere. My breath was a puff of cold wind as I shivered in annoyance. It's much more colder than usual. Is Khione mad or something? I wore my assassins cloak, at night, it allows me to camouflage, which allows assassinations much more easier. And that's what I'm going to do because fighting Boreas head on will probably take too long.

I spotted a small glass pane on the rooftop. Peeking inside, I drew out Skia and curved out a perfect circle and I quietly slipped in. My camo activated already, as I slipped through the carpeted hallway. Ice statues lining the hallway, creepy as fuck. I quickly made my way down the hall and came across a gigantic frozen door. Opening it slightly, I pulled the shadows to make me disappear from everybody, even from godly eyes.

Observing the dome shaped room, ice stalagmites and stalactites shined as the light hit it which had came from the also ice made chandelier. Everything was literally just made of ice, there was ice furnitures everywhere. A throne woven out of icy wonds floated in the middle of the room and a man that had solid blue eyes. I could feel the raw power rolling off of him. The same one I felt when I fought Ouranos. Then appeared beside was Ouranos himself and this just made me quest way harder.

'HQ, Mission upgrade to a Rank A. I repeat mission upgrade to a Rank A.' I said as I got 'linked' to the Council of Darkness main server.

'Copy that Perseus,' Summanus this time picking up the call.

'Send the dragons for now to where Riptide is located, asap. I need to take alot of precautions for this one and I might not make it in time to help the hunters.'

'Alright, alright. Opening the dragon hatch now.' The connection was cut off as I went back to looking at Boreas and Ouranos. They seem to be discussing about something quite important with seems to allow me to set up my trap as they remained distracted. Threads of water sent themselves out of my fingers like spiderwebs, sticking to the whole room. The threads were so thin it was impossible to see but sharp enough to cut through flesh and muscle.

Now to wait...
