I know I made the knife thing being thrown at Aspen similar to the one with Katniss, but you'll understand why I did that in this chapter.

Chapter 11:

Frozen and Scared

I wait out the careers. Gliss takes more throwing knives and a machete. I see that the girl from four was brutally murdered by Savannah. I see that Brock is gone as well. I guess he wasn't invited to be in the career pack.

I can already feel the bitter cold on my face. The harsh cold nips at my face. My jaw is already numb. I just need to get the supplies and run as far as I can and make a fire, but only in the daylight like Johanna and Basil said.

The careers still nitpick at the cornucopia. They then gather into a group and start talking. I'm too far away to hear them, but if I get closer I could. Knowing where they will go will help me avoid them. My curiosity is getting the better of me and I know the old saying, "Curiosity killed the cat."

I decide to sneak closer. I climb down and tip toe through the thick foliage. I get close enough that I can climb a tree and still not be seen. I rest in a fork in the tree and slow my breathing. I close my eyes and focus on their conversation.

"Who are we hunting down first?" asks Karah.

"What does it matter?" Gliss snaps.

"What matter's is that we stay warm and take out the tributes that are a threat, because the arena is cold. Very cold. The tributes that are a threat will last long like us. When the time comes that we have to take them out, then we might be half frozen to death and they could be bundled up and warm. They would have an advantage. We could die. Do we want to die? No. Take them out first and the weaker ones might die off or we will kill them before they would die off. Does that make sense?" Bruno snaps/explains to everyone more towards Gliss. Everyone nods there heads.

Bruno then tells them the plan, "We are going to go to the right. Over there," he points in the opposite direction from where I'm at, "and we will set up a camp and try to get warm. At night we will hunt, right now I have my kill list, but we can discuss that after we get warm. Let's get a move on."

The rest nod their heads in agreement and start attempting to run in the thick snow. They hit the forest and disappear. I stay in my tree for five more minutes. I want to make sure the coast is clear before I go out there by myself and defenseless except for the knife that Gliss threw at me.

I wait for another five minutes and start climbing down the tree. I get my knife out and try to run to the cornucopia. While I'm there I make it quick. I grab two extra pair of socks, hats, gloves, and scarves incase if I need one by loosing it or in an emergency. I shove them into my backpack, but put on an extra hat and scarf. I grab a belt of throwing knives and pick out two deadly ones from another belt and shove them into a secure pocket on my backpack. I grab a first aid kit and shove it into there, too. I then pick out two axes. Both are medium and are balanced with my weight. I don't have time to look for food, but I grew off of getting my own food in the forest of my district, even during the winter, and I reassure myself that I can find food.

I know I have what I need and start running towards an opposite direction from where I came and where the careers went. By the time I make it to the tree line, I start to warm-up and head towards the lake I saw earlier.

I arrive at the lake. On the way I killed two snowy rabbits with knives. I didn't have anything to wrap them with, so I hung them from my belt. I know going out on the lake is risky, so I stay hidden in the tree line.

I decide to check the contents of my bag. I have what I got from the cornucopia along with the rabbits and an attempted murder weapon. My bag has stuff to make a fishing line, but a very poor one and no bait. It also has rope, a sort of plastic blanket that has use for wrapping up the rabbits, a sleeping bag, and fire starters. I then organize my bag to make me reach things easier.

I zip-up the bag, but then I hear footsteps. I don't hear just one person's footsteps. I hear the footsteps of a person being chased and they are scared straight. Then fear hits me and the iciness of the cold. Being frozen and scared is not ideal for you to win the Hunger Games.

Did anyone see "The Starving Games"? That movie was hilarious. I just kept on laughing.
