It all went according to plan. Eren got restrained by Armin's dad and they were left unseen. Of course, only Levi and Armin were aware of this being part of the plan. Mikasa had to be held back in order to stop her from stomping into the scene to 'try' and prevent Eren's capture. Armin had to cover her mouth with his hand as one of the soldiers slammed down the butt of his rifle on Eren's head. Levi winced at the sickning sound of the gun and Eren's head making contact. Another soldier stepped into the scene and kicked Eren in the ribs with sheer brute force. Armin held back a gasp as he heard Eren's ribs crack from their position behind an abandoned building.
The two soldiers each took hold of the unconscious Eren and lifted him off the ground. They pulled him along with Eren's feet dragging agaisnt the street as the other soldiers, Mr. Arlet, and Petra departed. As the marching figures were fading from view, Mikasa elbowed Armin in the stomach. Armin groaned and let his grip on Mikasa go, earning the attention of Levi. Mikasa wasted no time in using this to her advantage, she spun around, and punched Levi in the face hard enough to make him spit blood. "You fucking knew," she hissed in obvious anger.
Levi stared up at her challenging, but Mikasa refused to step down. Armin could have sworn he saw static go off between them from the mere intensity of their glares. He stepped in before it could turn into a fight. "Yes, yes Mikasa. We knew," he wheezed. Armin was always aware that Mikasa's strength was made up of three horses combined, but being the one instead of watching one get hit was a new experience for him.
Mikasa looked away from Levi and then at Armin in disbelief. "How could you do that to-" she began, but Armin cut her off, " Give me a chance to explain please. Just- just not here," Armin said while he nervously shifted his gaze from Mikasa to the street. A crowd was beginning to form in the spot where Eren was taken away. The people most likely witnessed the scene from indoors and decided to step out once they knew the coast was clear.
"Did you see that", "Oh my god", "Those bastards", and sentences along those lines were being exhanged. Mikasa glared at Armin, then at the crowd of people, then back at Armin and solemnly nodded.
It has been three days, or four, or maybe it has only been two. Eren wasn't quite sure, he never had a good sense of time anyways. He feels much better than he was previously and that's all that he was sure about. His ribs still sting and he has a lump that formed on the top of his head, but overall he is ready to face any challenges that required physical action. All that is left to do is form a plan.
Eren sighed dramatically, letting his head bump on the prison wall he is leaning on, hissing in pain, but remaining in place. Eren has never been good at making plans, Armin's the brains, Eren's the one who would keep things in control if things went sour. However, this time there is no Armin. There is only Eren stuck behind those god forsaken pipes with no escape.
Eren sighed once again, allowing his body to slide from the wall and onto the oddly clean floor. Eren guessed they didn't have much prisoners in the past or maybe they were just clean freaks. Eren chuckled at that.
The water dripping down from the ceiling caught his attention..Drip..drip..drip.. His eyes following the falling water driplets to the source. They were coming from a- a what? Wait, Eren has seen one of these before. Eren shot up causing his vision to blur and almost fell back down onto the floor. However, He remained on his feet and focused his vision on the object. Oh my god, He thought instead of said, just in case. It was a vent.
Some of the lower district's buildings have these. He asked his mother about it once, she smiled and said "Those are called air vents, they are suppose to ventalate air thorought the entire building, but we don't use them. Too much money to keep the heat recovery unit running." God he missed her. She always knew the answer to any question he had.
Eren ran a hand through his hair surverying the room. When he said there was nothing in his cell, he meant it.
Eren focused on the air vent once again. There must be a way to reach it, but on closer observation he sighed in fustration. Even if he could reach it, he would need a screwdriver or some sort of tool to unscrew it from the roof. Eren layed down on the floor. He would just have to wait and see, it's all he could do for the moment.
