Hellooooo, read and review :)
The normal disclaimer; I don't own Doctor Who.
Jack entered the TARDIS with Lilo in his arms. The lights in the TARDIS appeared dim, and the Doctor looked far from happy. Almost like he had been scolded or yelled at, which most likely was the case. Rose hurried over to shut the doors and as soon as they were closed the TARDIS wheezing started.
A relieved hum surrounded them, as Jack took a few more steps into the TARDIS. "Okay, looks like we're not going to die after all, Lilo" Jack joked and looked around the place in wonder. 'You don't say?' Lilo laughed back. The TARDIS trembled slightly from the flight, but not even near as much as it used to. 'She'll be here any minute now' Lilo mumbled. He couldn't keep the smile from his face from the excitement of knowing he would see his best friend any moment. Jack looked at him strangely and frowned. "Who's coming?" he asked. Rose and the Doctor looked at him strangely, they hadn't said anything about anyone coming. 'Tar' he smiled. As if on cue she appeared in a flash of gold. Jack gaped at the sudden appearance, but didn't have a chance to say anything when she turned towards the Doctor. "What the hell are you just standing there for?" She glared at the Doctor. He seemed to snap out of the state he was in and jumped into action. The Doctor hurried over to Jack and took Lilo out of his hands and rushed into a hallway. Tar was not far behind as she rushed out after him. Jack looked at Rose in confusion at the new appearance before rushing after them.
The Doctor reached the medical bay rather quickly as Tar rearranged her hallways to make it shorter. The med bay had white walls and there was a row of beds ready if anyone were to be sick. The Doctor hurried over to one of the beds with Lilo and carefully lied him down. As the Doctor went to some shelves to find some equipment, Tar went over to the other side of the bed and ran her fingers his fur repeatedly to sooth him. She, on the other hand, was fuming not only was she worried when she had sensed the danger around her when they had gone out on the adventure but when the Doctor had returned to the TARDIS without Lilo. She had lost her cool and yelled at him for putting her companion in danger like that, it hadn't gotten any better when he had told her that Lilo had gotten injured on their adventure and was on a spaceship about to blow up. She had demanded him to get there and rescue her companion immediately but ended up doing it herself in a rush as her worry had taken over.
'Hey it's okay, Tar. I'm okay. Calm down.' Lilo tried to calm her down as he could see her getting worked up. She had started clenching her fists and a gold glow had encircled them. The glow disappeared as soon as she heard his words and her hands loosened up as she smiled sadly at him. His fur was dirty and bloody, he looked like a mess.
The Doctor returned with a tube. He squeezed a pink substance out on his finger before smearing it on Lilo's gash on his head Lilo whimpered in pain. "Hey, it's okay. It's for your wound. It will make it heal faster." The Doctor soothed. "We need to talk," he said to Tar and nodded towards the door and he walked out of the room. Tar looked at Lilo hesitantly before following. "We'll be right back, just rest."
Tar closed the door behind them as they had entered the hallway. "The Nanogenes healed his internal injuries but his leg is still broken." The Doctor sighed. He was worried about Tar's sanity; he knew she shouldn't let it get to her like that. She was an eleven dimensional being, there was a reason TARDISes didn't have flesh bodies. A TARDIS could pretty much do anything and to mix that with emotions could be dangerous. "What are you not telling me?" she questioned, her eyes were filled with emotions. "I don't know how bad the break is, I need to x-ray his leg. If it's bad I need to sedate him so that I can operate on it to set it back in its original place. Its going to hurt but its what's best for him." He sighed and ran his hand over his face in frustration. "Tar, you need to control your emotions, you can't get emotional. For everyone's sake, for Lilo's sake you need to be calm." She opened her mouth to respond when he cut her off. "I know it's hard, but anger is the shortest way to mistake. I know you're angry. You have every right to be angry but it was an accident so you need to sort out your emotions." He finished and went back into the medical bay.
Tar stood there staring at the door thinking over the Doctor's words. She had never gotten this worried and upset before. All these emotions were roaring through her body. Worry. Anger. Determination. Protectiveness. She didn't know how to deal with them, as she'd never experienced them before, at least not in this scale.
Jack had finally found his way to the medical bay. It had proven to be quite difficult as the corridors kept rearranging. He knew he had finally found it when he saw the girl that had magically appeared in the console room earlier standing in front of a door with her face turned away from him. He could only guess that she was Tar, the girl Lilo had talked about. She wore a white dress that went to her knees, a ribbon tied around her waist giving the dress shape. Her hair was dark and wavy and went past her shoulders.
He walked up to her and he was about to introduce himself went she turned around and griped his shirt and pushed him towards the wall. The anger was flowing through her eyes. His eyes widened in fear. "Okay, um, hey, um, you must be Tar" Jack squirmed.
Tar's eyes widened as she realized what she had done and quickly let go of his shirt. Jack let out a sigh of relief. "Controlling my emotions…" she muttered and took a few deep breaths. "I apologize for that." She looked down at the floor in embarrassment. "It's not the first time I've been pushed against the wall by a girl" Jack joked as he could see that she was genuinely sorry. Tar frowned and looked up at him. "Why would you be pushed up against the wall?" she asked confused. Jack's mouth opened and closed several times, as he didn't know what to say. "Ooh" Tar grimaced. She turned to look at the ceiling. Jack looked at her weirdly. "Feel free to think about something else," she muttered, her cheeks were turning a shade of red as she blushed. Jack's eyes widened with realization. "At least put up some mental blockers." She muttered as they stood there awkwardly.
Jack cleared his throat to fill the awkward silence, before holding out his right hand.
"Captain Jack Harkness" he said. Tar looked down from the ceiling and looked at his hand in confusion. He laughed at her confusion. "You're supposed to shake it" He smiled. She hesitantly reached out her left hand and took a hold of his hand before shaking it… sideways. Jack laughed at the motion. "Okay, it's obvious you don't get out much." He laughed. She smiled sheepishly and took her hand back. She disappeared in a flash of gold. Jack gaped at the sight, that girl really was different. A moment later she appeared in a flash of gold again. "Don't call me girl," she warned him. He smiled and tilted his head to the side "what do I call you then?" he couldn't stop smiling and staring at her green eyes. "Tar," she smirked before disappearing again.
Inside the medical bay the Doctor had just taken the x-ray when Tar showed up in a flash of gold behind him. 'You know, you could have just used the door' Lilo smirked. Tar stuck out her tongue at him. Lilo laughed, he remembered when he had told her about that gesture. He'd told her a story from when he had lived with his human family and how the child had stuck out her tongue at the father, and Tar had been confused, as she didn't know the meaning of it. He had ended up teaching her about lots of gestures, which had been quite fun. For once he had an opportunity to teach her something. He smiled at the memory. He was happy that she had cheered up a bit from before, she had been an emotional wreck, and it had frightened him quite a bit when she had lashed out on the Doctor in the console room. It was nice to see that she was feeling better.
The Doctor was studying the radiograph and was deep in his thoughts. "How bad is it?" Tar questioned. The Doctor jumped at her sudden appearance and dropped the image. "You can't sneak up on people like that." he sighed as his hearts started to slow down. "Why not?" she questioned innocently. Lilo had to laugh at the two of them; they were like brother and sister. The Doctor just sighed once more. "The break wasn't as bad as it looked like. I still need to reassert the bone and put his leg in a cast" he smiled. "He is going to be okay." Tar grinned and pulled him in for a hug.
'You two are so cute' Lilo smiled. 'Sorry to interrupt, but reasserting the bone sounds kind of painful' Tar nodded and her smile dimmed. The Doctor watched the interaction with a smile; he hadn't seen them talk to each other before. At least that was what he thought. "He's going to be sedated when you reassert the bone, right?" She said and the Doctor nodded.
The door creaked and the three of them turned to see Jack coming in. "There you are, are you okay?" Jack asked Lilo. 'I'm fine' Lilo reassured him. "Thank God" Jack sighed at the same time the Doctor said; "He's fine." The Doctor looked at Jack in confusion while Jack while let out a sigh of relief. "I would have showed up earlier, but I couldn't find the room, it was almost like the corridors were moving." He laughed. 'Oh, I wonder who might have done that… Tar, care to explain?' Lilo said, trying to restrain his laughter. Jack looked at Tar in confusion, that girl never ceased to surprise him. "You did that?" He asked in disbelief. "I might have done that," she said sheepishly before looking up in the ceiling again before she realised something. "I said don't call me girl." She glared. "Sorry I'll try to stop." Jack laughed.
"Okay, you still didn't explain the moving corridors thing," Jack changed the subject, as he didn't want to go into the topic. 'I think she might have been a little bit overprotective there' Lilo remarked. "Well I figured out that one, it seems like you two are close, but how?" Jack wondered. 'It's her corridors so I can imagine it's sort of like you moving your legs' Lilo shrugged. "I am standing right here, hearing every word." She said slightly amused at the two of them. "Sorry" 'sorry' Jack and Lilo said at the same time. Tar chuckled. "Actually, that was quite brilliantly explained. Legs… I like that. I was going to say something more mechanical but you wouldn't understand. I think it's more like veins, and when you flex your muscles they move around. Or like intestines… oh forget that last one, that's just weird." She rambled. 'Just nod and smile when she stops, that's what I do' Lilo laughed when he saw the look on Jack's face as he tried to understand what she was talking about. "Hey, rude!" she said offended.
The Doctor looked at the three of them in confusion. "Okay. I'm officially lost" he exclaimed. Jack and Tar turned to look at him and smiled. "We were explaining how I move my corridors to Jack," she smiled. "We?" The Doctor frowned; he didn't exactly feel involved in the explaining. "Yeah, Lilo and I" she smiled. He hesitantly nodded, that would explain a lot. It felt like he had missed an important part of the conversation, which it turned out he had. "Oh, okay… well I think I should fix his leg now, the sooner I fix it up the less it will hurt." He said and smiled sadly at Lilo. Tar nodded and turned towards Lilo again. "We'll be right outside, while the Doctor fixes up your leg." She smiled and headed out with Jack. "So, you talk can talk to Jack too, well human's in the 51st century is slightly telepathic, so I guess that explains it" The Doctor rambled. He walked over to like with a syringe, and sedated him. "Don't worry, when you wake up, you're going to have cast on your leg." He smiled as Lilo slipped into unconsciousness.
Dances a happy dance, Lilo is fine. Nothing is going to happen to him…. at least until next week }:) mohahaha
