A woman with orange hair walked into her dining room to find her daughter polishing off several helpings of a fried Magikarp cutlet and Topo Berry curry. A faint smile appeared on her face before rapping on the doorframe lightly to get Eri's attention.

"Eri, dear, you got an alert from a Trainer in Mount Moon. You've got to get there now." She said. Eri instantly turned to her mother, with a mouthful of Magikarp cutlet, and nodded. She stood up quickly and grabbed her belt full of Pokéballs from a hook on the wall.

"See ya, Mom." Eri said with a cheeky grin.

"Bye, Eri. I'll save some more Magikarp for you when you get back." The woman nodded, and started tidying up the table. Eri put on her coat, with the badge symbol of the Cerulean City Gym stitched onto it, and fastened the belt around her waist. She sent out her Slowbro, Senta, who looked at her with a dopey grin on its face.

"Senta, Teleport." Eri commanded. She disappeared in an instant.

In Mount Moon:

"Why are you here?! i thought you were doing your charity work!" Matthias cried out, being unable to comprehend what was going on. His father stayed silent, being unable to answer his questions without revealing that he had been lying to everyone around him for pretty much the entire time that we had known him. I, and I assume Exton too, couldn't believe it. One of our best friends' parents was one of the higher ranking officers in a criminal organisation? How could anyone believe that? Suddenly, a crackling sound came from Matthias' dad's earpiece. He straightened up, and hesitantly barked agreement.

"...yes, sir." He hesitantly said, and distractedly pulled out a Pokéball, and released a cream white Persian, which we recognised as one of the Shaddock household's pet Pokémon, Fay.

"...Fay?" Matthias said weakly, reaching a hand out to Fay. Fay looked quizzically back at her master, and to Matthias, confused.

"Fay, Fury Swipes." Matthias' dad said with a sad tone in his voice. Fay looked like she wanted to rebel, but eventually charged at us, claws glowing with white energy.

"Inferna, Flame Barrier!" I shouted. Inferna summoned a wall of flame, which exploded from the ground. Fay had too much momentum to stop and turn around, and leapt right into the flames, causing damage to her whole body, and leaving her with a Burn.

"SIAN!" Fay howled in pain, before charging again at us, her decision not helped by my harming her.

"Volta, Double Kick..." Matthias shouted, somewhat hesitantly. His Eevee launched herself towards Fay, and hit it in the side with two perfectly timed kicks. In a fit of rage, Fay spun around quickly, before furiously slashing at Volta, hitting her with two blades of white energy, and sending Volta tumbling back through the air. Volta twisted her body mid-air to land back onto Matthias' shoulder, before jumping back into the fray.

"Inferna, Flame Kick from below! Hydro, jump and Close Combat from above!" I shouted, releasing Hydro from his Pokéball. Instantly, both of them launched into action, Inferna leaping at Fay from below and Hydro from above.

"Fay, Screech Gem!" Matthias' dad yelled, now snapping back into focus. As Inferna jumped below Fay, and launched a flaming kick up at her, and Hydro landed from above, Fay summoned several gems from the floor below, ripping the ground apart. She then let out an ear splitting screech, which shattered the various gems just summoned, and the force of the sound blew Hydro away from her and Inferna's fire was extinguished as she hit the floor, rolling around in pain, trying to cover her sensitive ears. Fay then used the various shards of gems to fly towards Hydro, and which embedded themselves in his fur. Inferna, forgotten below, used the opportunity to launch two flaming kicks at Fay, which knocked her into the air, making her lose her focus.

"Murkrow, Sky Attack! Houndour, Bite!" Dylan commanded, releasing his Absol too. His Murkrow glowed with a bright blue light, charging up, as Houndour used his teeth to bite Fay from below, using the force that Inferna had given her to bite at her stomach, leaving a set of red teeth marks line there. Murkrow finished charging, and sped high up into the air, and then flew at supersonic speeds towards Fay, knocking her to the side, where she hit the wall. Hard.

"Fay!" Matthias' dad cried out, worried to see his starter hurt so badly, before gaining a mad glint in his eyes. "Cro! Fume! Don! Scorp! Get them!" He screamed, flinging four Pokéballs into the air, before quickly returning Fay so that she couldn't get hurt more. The Pokéballs flashed, releasing their contents. Out came a Crobat, Weezing, Rhydon, and a Drapion.

"Everyone, get all your Pokémon out!" I yell. There was a giant flash of red light as everyone released their Pokémon.

"Inferna, Mass Heat Barrier! Hydro, Close Combat!" I shouted. Inferna then created a large circle around all of his Pokémon, trapping them all except for his Crobat, who flew above the flames and quickly dived down. Luckily, as Crobat dived towards Inferna, which would distract her and make the wall of flame disappear, Hydro jumped towards and above Crobat, and altering my command, and flailing his limbs all over the place, striking the purple bat all around its body, making it fall the the ground. Suddenly, a large purple pincer jutted out from the wall, snapping at Matthias.

"Volta, Double Impact! Dexter, Leaf Storm surround!" Matthias yelled, finally getting into the fight, since he didn't recognise these Pokémon, as well as the fact that if he didn't, he would die. Dexter, the newly named Dartrix, summoned a flurry of sharp leaves, and commanded a gust of light purple wind to sweep the leaves up and propelling them around the wall of flame, batting the hand back, and stopping some of the other Pokémon that were trying to get out of the enclosure. Volta jumped off Matthias' arm again, and leapt at the Crobat, hitting it twice consecutively with white-energy boosted kicks.

"Pokémon, Sludge Bomb!" Matthias' father yelled. I could see now why he was a Rocket Admin. He was completely deranged, and had two separate personalities: One of them Matthias' father, and the other one a ruthless Rocket Admin. However, Matthias didn't seem to notice. I couldn't tell if that was for the best, or for the worst. His Pokémon all regurgitated a large dripping ball of purple acid, and launched it through the wall towards our Pokémon, and us. I leapt to the ground as a ball of acid flew over my head. As it hit the floor, it dissolved a large hole in the floor, showing that it was highly corrosive. I quickly recalled my Pokémon, thanking my stars that the only weakness that Matthias' fathers' Pokémon had were that they were incredibly slow, and then sending them out again. Unluckily, the balls of sludge hit some of our Pokémon, eating through their fur and skin. The first one to get hit was Dylan's Houndour, who got quickly recalled once the acid burned through his bone-like structures on his body. The second one to get hit was Volta, which luckily used Quick Attack to leap back a bit further, otherwise she would have gotten drenched in the acid, but her tail got caught slightly, and the acid burned easily through her thick fur like it wasn't there in the first place. Volta cried out in pain as a slight bit of acid touched the flesh of her tail, and Matthias recalled her. Matthias now looked absolutely heartbroken, as he had held on to the hope that his father wouldn't hurt his friends, his Pokémon, and that hope had been completely erased by his father lashing out.

Ethan had turned his back, trying to call for help, and didn't notice what was coming for him. A Sludge Bomb launched towards him as he turned back around, and looked up at his certain demise. I tried to alert him, but could only watch in horror as the Sludge Bomb fell.

Suddenly, Riolu leaped in front of him, and started glowing white. His figure grew immensely, and after a few seconds, a Lucario now stood in front of him. Riolu had evolved. Lucario then pushed Ethan out of the way quickly, and the Sludge Bomb fell on him. The acid dripped off Lucario slowly, and steam arose from Lucario, but no major damage was done. Ethan dropped to the ground in shock, and crawled backwards a bit.

"...Riolu...?" Ethan slowly said. Lucario winked slightly at him, in pain, which showed how powerful Matthias' father's Pokémon were, being able to use a Poison-Type attack effectively against a Steel-Type Pokémon, and started charging up a large blue pulsing orb of energy.

"Aura Sphere..." I said in wonder. Lucario then released the Aura Sphere by spreading his hands outwards, and shot it into the enclosure, effectively hitting Drapion, as we heard a cry of pain and rage from it not soon after.

Suddenly, a feminine voice echoed from a distance away from us. "Thanks for alerting me. I'll take it from here." She said as she winked at us. "You're all extremely talented for beginner Trainers. Most people wouldn't be able to fend off Proton for this long." She said as she strode towards us.

"Proton..." said Matthias wondrously, as he tried to associate it with his father.

"Thanks though." The woman said. She had light brown tousled hair, and it was cut short. She had viridian coloured eyes, and she wore a light yellow blouse with short blue jeans. She sent out a dark blue frog-like Pokémon with its tongue as a scarf. "Can you tell your Torracat to lower the flames?"

I nodded. "Inferna, stop." I commanded. The flames instantly died down, and Inferna was left panting and sweating, due to the amount of sheer energy it had to take to command that amount of fire for that long with so much control. I then returned her.

"Greninja, Water Shuriken then Tongue Wrap." She said to her Greninja. Greninja nodded, before launching blurs of water at all the remaining Pokémon, moving so quickly that we didn't even see it react. The Shurikens hit the Pokémon on their respective pressure points, instantly fainting them, as anything would if a Pokémon of that power hit Critical Hits three times each with incredibly sharp Shurikens. Greninja then unraveled its tongue scarf and lashed out at Matthias' dad, wrapping him up with its tongue, and squeezing him tightly so he couldn't escape.

"Who are you?" I asked suspiciously.

"Why, I'm Eris Waterflower, the Cerulean City Gym Leader!" She said brightly, before taking Matthias' dad's Pokéballs, recalling his Pokémon, putting the Pokéballs in her pocket, and walking out with her Greninja and Proton wrapped up firmly.

"Man, I hope we don't have to fight that thing." I breathed out incredulously.
