Authors Note: Okay, so I know everyone probably hates me! I left the last chapter on a huge cliffhanger and then didn't update for more than a month! Here's my excuse:

-The last week before school started I was super busy

-Once I got back to school I had a week of revision before my exams

-After the first week I had a 3 week break that I spent studying (I aced ALL my exams luckily)

-School has started up again (the 4th day back) and I've had on average about 1 hour of homework EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! (GAH)

-I also have had MAJOR writers block because I was considering whether or not I was going to throw out the plan I had for this story, and TOTALLY change it up! And now the decision has been made insert dramatic music here

Anyway, those are my excuses! (So sorry again!) Hope you all can forgive me.

So this chapter is much shorter than the rest (1967 words). I just wanted to get SOMETHING posted after being such a git and not updating for a while.

I'll stop babbling, ENJOY!

I Do Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good ;)

Disclaimer: I own nothing but my OC's and my quite imaginative (if I do say so myself) storyline. ALL HAIL JKR FOR EVERYTHING ELSE!

Chapter 10: The Green Eyed Monster?

Xavier.

This name lingered in her head as she was engulfed into darkness.

Her head was pounding. All she could hear was a high pitch ringing. She struggled to open her eyes but she found herself unable to do so. After a moment she fell unconscious.

She continued to fall in and out of consciousness and the first time she was able to open her eyes, she could have sworn that she saw Xavier standing at the foot of her bed; but of course she wasn't able to ponder it because the moment after she fell back into oblivion.

Her mind was fuzzy; the ringing was replaced with a static sound like from an old Muggle television set. The sound faded and was replaced by hushed voices. She forced her eyes open and saw Lily, James and Sirius standing at the end of her bed murmuring with the schools Healer; Madame Pomfrey was a young, petite woman with soft brown hair and a stern glance.

Katherine looked down and noticed that she was still wearing her pirate costume, which was stained with blood.

The pain returned to her head and she groaned; that seemed to inform her visitors of her conscious state. Madame Pomfrey hurried over quickly and began feeling around Katherine's head; for a lump, Katherine assumed.

She looked over at her friends and noticed that all of their eyes were puffy and pink. Katherine attempted a weak smile but fail as Madame Pomfrey touched a sensitive spot on her head; she winced.

"Stop it! You're hurting her!" James said on the defensive lurching himself forward.

"Enough," Madame Pomfrey said firmly, "I have had enough of you coming in here trying to tell me how to do my job. I want you and all of your friends out. I will come and tell you when you can visit, but for now, get out." She didn't yell; her voice was even and severe.

James had a look of disbelief on his face, "I'm her brother!" He yelled, "You can't tell me to leave!" In response to his hash scream, Katherine winced and it did not go unnoticed.

"Well Mr. Potter," Madame Pomfrey said calmly, "It looks like you're the one whom is hurting her. Now, if you don't leave immediately I will be forced to call Professor McGonagall."

James looked as though he was about to protest, but Lily pulled him and Sirius forcefully out of the hospital wing whilst scolding James in a hushed tone.

Madame Pomfrey didn't tell Katherine what happened and when she asked she said, "I can not disclose that information" and continued patching her up. Katherine drank one of many potions and it allowed her to doze off.

The next time Katherine awoke, she heard muted voices and turned to see to whom they belonged; she was surprised to see Professor Dumbledore, and The Minister of Magic himself.

"You must do this, Dumbledore! Don't be daft, as you once said, 'It's for the greater good.'"

"I do understand that, Minister, but that is not the way we do it at Hogwarts." Dumbledore replied calmly.

Do what? Katherine thought puzzled. What does the Minister want Dumbledore to do?

"We'll discuss this later." The Minister mumbled as a perplexed Madame Pomfrey entered the scene.

"I don't understand Dumbledore, why isn't there any medical history for either of them? What's going on?" Madame Pomfrey asked.

"It is Ministry business, my dear Madame." Dumbledore explain politely.

"Yes, that's what the Minister has been telling me for the past 20 minutes, but what type of Ministry business could two children be involved with?" She pushed.

"That's Ministry information." The Minister said in clear annoyance.

Madame Pomfrey looked as though she was about to flip her lid, but before she was able to say anything Katherine cleared her throat.

"Miss. Potter! It is good to see you are well! How are you feeling?" Dumbledore asked as if the conversation he was having previously been simply about Quidditch.

"Uh… A little groggy I suppose, but much better than before." Katherine answered unsteadily as she eyed the Minister.

"Ah good!" Dumbledore said as Madame Pomfrey walked over to check out her head.

"The swelling has gone down quite a bit; she should stay with me tonight and tomorrow she can return to class."

"Excellent!" Dumbledore said happily.

"Madame Pomfrey, may you give the two of us a moment alone with Ms. Potter?" The Minister asked.

Just as she was about to object Dumbledore nodded at her and she walked into her office huffing and puffing.

Once they were alone the Minister said, "My dear! I am ever so happy you're alright!"

Katherine gave a weak smile and turned to Dumbledore, "What happened Professor? I can seem to remember much and no one would tell me."

"Well my dear…" Dumbledore began before being cut off by the Minister.

"Albus, don't you think I should explain the situation at hand?"

"Of course, Minister, I apologize." Dumbledore said with a small bow.

The Minister turned back to Katherine, "Ms. Potter, what exactly do you remember last? Before coming to the hospital wing."

"Hmm…" Katherine said as images of Xavier popped into her mind. "Well Minister, I'm not too sure. I seem to remember something but I think it was just a hallucination or something."

"Please my dear, tell me what it is." The Minister said patiently.

"Umm… Okay, well I saw Xavier. But it couldn't possibly be real." Katherine added as she looked down feeling embarrassed.

When Katherine looked back up the Minister was smiling. "Oh dear girl! What you saw, Xavier, wasn't a hallucination, it was very much real!"

Katherine was speechless, surely this couldn't be true.

"You see dear, about 2 months ago Xavier was diploid on a mission which we decided would be somewhat of a final exam, and long story short he passed. After much debate on whether or not he should begin working at the Ministry or attend Hogwarts with you, we decided that he would come to Hogwarts as a student."

"Are you serious?" She asked the Minister and Dumbledore.

"Very much so." Dumbledore said with a smile.

"I have to see him," Katherine said as she abruptly sat up. Pain pulsed through her head but she pushed through.

"No my dear, you must stay here and rest. Xavier is currently being sorted by the Hat; you can see him tomorrow."

"But…"

"I'm truly sorry my dear, but that's the way it must be. Please, get some rest and you'll be good to go by tomorrow." Dumbledore stated finally.

Katherine threw herself back down with a huff as Madame Pomfrey began fussing over her once more.

This is going to be a long night.

When Katherine awoke the next morning she felt a thousand times better than the day before. She tried to leave as soon as she woke up but Madame Pomfrey insisted on taking another look at her. Katherine complied but she wouldn't sit still while Madame Pomfrey took a look.

"Ms. Potter! Stay still or I'll make you stay another day!"

Katherine rolled her eyes but listened as Madame Pomfrey began mumbling, "You're just like your brother."

The moment she let Katherine leave she threw on her robes and ran out of the infirmary.

What time is it? Katherine wondered and turned to look at the large clock that sat on the stonewall of the corridor; 7:55am, that meant breakfast is still going on.

Katherine set her sights on the Great Hall, but when she got there she didn't see any of her friends; No Marauders, no roommates, and no Xavier.

As she was about to leave puzzled, she heard some sixth year Slytherin girls talking;

"Isn't the new guy cute?" The Blonde one said.

"I know!" Squealed the brunette, "I am SO glad he was sorted into Slytherin! How horrible would it have been if he were a Gryffindor?"

Slytherin? Katherine froze, He can't be; they must have it wrong. I need to find Xavier.

Katherine went into panic mode and began searching the castle like a maniac before she heard laughter coming from the lake. She peered outside the window and saw her roommates, the Marauders, and Xavier laughing by the lake.

Without thinking Katherine dashed through the corridor and down two flights of stairs before she got outside.

Katherine halted the moment she got outside; half in shock and half unsure.

What if he doesn't care for me anymore?

Should I go back into the Castle? I don't want to look too eager.

As she stood pondering, Lavona spotted her and a large grin materialized on her face.

"Look! Sleeping creepy as awoken!"

Katherine stuck her tongue out at her friend as everyone turned around to look at her and she immediately locked eyes with Xavier.

A moment of shock flashed upon his face before one of his signature goofy grins appeared.

Any doubt Katherine had about him vanished the moment she saw his smile, and she couldn't help but run into his arms. He clutched onto her and they stood that way for several moments before she pulled away slightly. He wiped one of her tears away; she hadn't even realized she had started crying.

"I have never missed anyone so much in my life." Xavier whispered in her ear and Katherine couldn't help but give a teary eyed smile.

Sirius stood there by the lake and watched as Katherine leaped into his arms.

I know I shouldn't jealous; I already told Katherine I would leave her alone and try to work things out with Lavona, but I can't help but want to rip his throat out. What the hell does Katherine see in that bloke? Sirius thought, now becoming very frustrated, he's a Slytherin! He can't be that good of a guy!

He watched as they pulled apart and he whispered something in her ear that made her smile. She whispered something back and they both laughed before kissing.

I can't look at this. Sirius decided before disappearing unnoticed into the Dark Forrest.
