I would like to apologize for the long wait. I meant to have this finished way earlier. Then life happened and it stressed me out. And by that, I mean I met a guy and guys are confusing as mess. Like excuse my mini rant, but this guy made me think he liked but the guy is still totally in love with his ex. Like, why waste my time, bruh? I'm a hopeless romantic and you totally made me think you liked me. And it makes it even worse because this girl has cheated on him four times. Like, I don't understand how you can still trust someone like that but whatever. It's not my life. I'm just pissed cause this guy kissed me and told me he would totally date me and just played with my feelings and I hate guys. Why must they be so cute? Okay, I'm done with my mini rant. Please act like this never happened. I'm just frustrated.
Oh, but dudes. How 'bout gay marriage being legalized across the states? Like I'm so stoked about that. Now if I decide to marry a woman in the future I can without having to worrying about what state that will be in (cause I'm hella bi, y'all.) But yeah, being the South isn't that great since everyone on my facebook is mad as mess and the Confederate flag is decorating my news feed. But I can ignore that 'cause that's a win for the LGBTQ+ community. I love it! c:
Now, onto the important stuff. I'm pretty sure this is my longest chapter. Maybe that's why it took so long, besides my obvious boy troubles. Anyway, I should tell you guys that the long stuff in italics in part of Lydia's past (ex. The beginning of this chapter) and the stuff in regular font is part of the current timeline. I don't want anyone to be confused and think it's her dreaming or anything. Also, fair warning, Lydia's going to be displaying some major mood swings. I'm not going to say much more because I don't want to reveal too much but I guess you can say she's at her breaking point. Anyway, I hope you like this chapter and I love you guys c:
AndreaRamos2003: I'm mysterious? Really? Haha. And I'm kind of confused on what you meant at the end though. I'm sorry.
Zandriana: Haha. I love Takeru, too. He's my personal favorite. Well, him and Loki. And there's some Takeru x Lydia in this but unfortunately its short lived (Because unfortunately I'm a mean author who can be cruel to her characters.)
Guest: Haha. It would be nice for Takeru to save her (or one of the other gods). And sorry for the late update. Life has been stressful!
Shadowgirl20: Ah okay. Well, I'm glad you liked the chapter! Hopefully you'll like this one as well, even with Lydia's mood swings.
xDarkxAngelx4everx: Aw, that makes me happy that you like my writing! And I'm so glad that you think Lydia fits in so well. It touches my heart to know that you keep expecting her to pop up c: Hopefully you'll continue to like her, especially since she can be kind of dramatic.
Wynd12: Well, I hope you find his backstory with Lydia interesting. I wanted to make him kind of realistic and hopefully I managed to pull him off. He has a very complex persona. And thank you, darling! c:
rinpup14: Though at least Balder isn't scary on purpose 'cause in reality he's a total sweetheart and he's a precious cinnamon roll who needs to be protected. And yes, the other guy is scary and very problematic.
iReader: Well hopefully this chapter answers many questions c:
Alice.8: I'm sorry I'm such a procrastinator xD
Jemstone6259: Poor Balder. He's being creepy and scary without even realizing it. My poor cinnamon roll :c And yes, Loki can be dramatic :3 I have plans for him in the next chapter.
morganclaire1: I'm glad you like it! And creepazoid? I love it!
MusicLover314: Well here's the next chapter. I hope you enjoy c:
Guest(2): I'm glad you like my story. I'm also glad that you like Lydia and think she isn't a Mary Sue. I hope she continues to be realistic.
AliasGrace625: I'm also not sure who I'm shipping her with, especially after this chapter. Though I still have plenty of time to decide on that. And thank you c:
A grunt of displeasure leaves Lydia's lips as she misses the ball. That was the fiftieth time she had messed up. Fifty times too much. If she couldn't keep up a good volley against a stupid wall, how could she hope to keep up with an actual person? "Let's try this one more time," Lydia mutters as she grabs another ball from under her shorts.
"You're too stiff. Relax." The voice was unfamiliar causing Lydia to drop her ball in surprise. Turning around, Lydia places her racket underneath her arm and stares at the unfamiliar person. Shock washes over her features. Walking toward her in long strides was tall, muscular guy. He sported handsome facial features, framed by the curls of his dark hair. His dark eyes sparkled with amusement as he wore a smirk on his face. Once the guy reaches her, he says, "I can practice with you."
Heat spreads across Lydia's face as she shifts in her place. "Oh, I don't know." She rubs her arm and bites her lip. What was such a handsome guy doing talking to her?
The guy nods his head toward the empty court. "C'mon, love. Best out of three?" He flashes her smile, one that probably swiped many girls off of their feet.
"I'll even let you serve." He pulls a ball out of his pocket and holds it up to her.
Lydia eyes the ball. "Tempting," she comments, twirling a finger around a strand piece of hair before letting out an awkward laugh. "But I really gotta be going home," she tells the handsome guy. If she was in her right mind, she would've took up his offer right away. Any girl would like to spend time with a guy looking like him.
The guy rubs his face before scratching the back out his head. "The loser can treat the winner to ice cream," he suggests, not giving up.
Lydia nods her head at the suggestion, a smile growing on her face. "You're on."
A frown spreads across Lydia's face as she watches the strange boy dig into a pile of chocolate ice cream. A pleased smile was on his face as he takes another bite of delicious food, looking her in the eyes. The damn guy was teasing her.
Lydia had lost the match against the stranger, leading to her having to buy ice cream for the guy. Unfortunately, though, she didn't have enough money to buy her own. So now the guy sat in front of her rubbing in the fact that he got to enjoy the delicious substance.
"I can't believe I ended up spending my money on you," Lydia grumbles, her arms crossed over her chest.
The guys smile spreads even wider. "Yeah. It's sad that you lost to someone who doesn't even play tennis," he jokes
Lydia's eye twitches. "You're joking, right?" The guy shakes his head causing Lydia to hit her against the table. "Damn it, how lame," she mutters into the wood.
The guy laughs at Lydia's behavior. Reaching a hand out, he pats her on the head. "Don't feel bad." His voice was sincere and Lydia lifts her head up to look at him. "I use to play a little while back," he adds.
A sigh of relief leaves Lydia. "Thank goodness. I thought I would have to give up." Her eyes look over the guy, for the hundredth time that day, taking in his muscular figure. "So, what do you play?" There was no way a guy of his physique didn't play a sport.
The guy chuckles, now finished with his ice cream. "Basketball," he states like it was obvious. Which it was when Lydia took in his height and slender build. Before Lydia could make another comment the guy asks, "What's your name, love?"
A dumbfounded look washes over Lydia's face. Had they really gone all of this time without introducing themselves? The idea of asking for his name had completely left her mind. "Uh, Lydia Murphy," she answers.
"Lydia Murphy?" The guy questions. A couple seconds later, a look of realization washes over his face. "Wait, are you Daisuke's step-sister?"
Lydia nods. "Uh, yeah. If we're talking about the same Daisuke here."
The guy nods. "Yeah we are. His dad, Kaito, married a woman from America." The more he talked the more Lydia realized that they were talking about her step-brother.
"And how do you know Daisuke?" Lydia questions, curious about the guy's relationship with her step-brother.
"I'm his best friend," the guy answers without skipping a beat. "I'm Kenta Kurosawa."
Kurosawa? The name sounded familiar. Lydia guessed she had heard Daisuke mention the name a few times. At this realization Lydia says, "Wow. What a small world after all."
Kenta nods. "Mhmm. Looks like we'll be seeing more of each other, after all."
Walking across the courtyard, Lydia bites into her apple. It was the lunch period and the redhead took the opportunity to get some fresh air. At the breeze going through the air, she was beginning to think it was bad idea since she was wearing her short sleeves. Taking another bite of her apple, she continues to walk around the courtyard, her eyes falling on a familiar blue haired boy. With a smile plaster on her face, she walks over to the boy who was laying on the ground with his eyes closed.
Standing in front of him, Lydia place a hand on her hip and leans over him. "Wake up, Sunshine," she shouts at the bluenette.
Takeru grunts, opening one eye to peer up at her. "What do you want?"
"Always so nice," Lydia says while sitting down beside the bluenette. "I was in the area." She takes another bite of her apple.
Sitting up, Takeru leans on his hands. His eyes glance over the half eaten apple in Lydia's hand. "Hey, let me have a bite of that." He nods his head at the apple.
Making a face, Lydia looks down at the apple then back at the bluenette. "Uh, I'm eating this," she says slowly. The guy didn't strike her as the type to eat after people.
The bluenette shrugs. "So? I'm hungry."
"Then go get your own. They have 'em in the cafeteria," Lydia remarks. She wasn't a fan of sharing her food. When it came to food, she could be quite stingy.
Without a word, Takeru snatches the apple out of Lydia's hand. Before Lydia could protest, the Sea God had already took a bite of the apple. After swallowing, Takeru wipes his mouth and holds the apple back out to Lydia. Shaking her head, Lydia says, "Nah, you can keep it." Takeru shrugs at this before biting into the apple again. "Yeah, you better enjoy my apple," Lydia grumbles with an eye roll.
"I offered it back," Takeru injects.
Lydia shakes her hand. "I don't eat after people," she explains causing Takeru to nod before finishing the apple. "So, Grumps. You gonna tell me how you know the guy from my drawing?" Lydia asks, not dropping the subject had been trying to avoid for the past couple days.
Takeru grunts and shakes his head. "It's none of your concern."
"Tch." Lydia's eye twitches. "But it is my business," she presses, her voice growing agitated. Why couldn't the guy just be straight forward and tell her? Why was he being so secretive about the matter?
Shooting her a glare, Takeru says, "Why can't you butt out of my business. Geez, I'm beginning to understand why you and the weed are best friends."
Lydia clicks her tongue. "Was that supposed to be an insult?" She didn't like the way the Sea God was implying that statement. It also was bugging her that her that he was avoiding answering her. "C'mon, Takeru. Just tell me how you know him," Lydia proceeds to pester the god sitting beside her.
Takeru goes to say something but stops himself as a wave of realization washes over his face. A paint tint of pink spreads across his face as he rubs his finger under his nose. "What did you just call me?" His voice was a mumble, making it difficult for Lydia to make it out. Though she managed to hear the rather strange question.
"Huh? Takeru? That's your name or did you forget it?" Lydia replies in sarcasm. What was his problem today?
"Of course I know my name." Takeru shoots get a glare before his gaze softens. "It's just rare to hear you say it," he mumbles the last part while he continues to rub his nose.
"Hmm?" Lydia arches a brow at Takeru. He was acting strange. If she didn't know any better, she would say he was embarrassed. Though Takeru didn't do embarrassment, right? Deciding to push aside Takeru's change in attitude, Lydia starts to press for answers again. "Okay, Takeru," she begins, gaining his full attention.
"Huh?" Takeru looks at her, a brow raised.
"If I tell you how I know the guy in drawing will you tell me how you know him?" Lydia figured it might work to share information with Takeru. He did ask her a couple days ago how she knew her tormentor, after all.
Pressing his lips together in a line, Takeru looks away from Lydia. After a few more seconds, he looks back her before nodding. "Fine. Spill."
Lydia's heart stops for a moment. She wasn't expecting for him to actually agree. Now she would have to tell him the truth. Taking in a deep breath, she calms her nerves before saying, "He's my ex-boyfriend."
Lydia had been living in Japan for almost six months. For six months she had known the handsome guy Kenta Kurosawa. During their time of knowing of each other, Lydia made it a habit of hers to spend time with the tall basketball player. When she was free from her own tennis practice and matches, she would watch Kenta play his sport or simply spend time with. Daisuke would complain to her about it, saying that she had stolen his best friend from him. Lydia didn't see how this was true. Kenta was one of her only friends, Yui being another of the few, and she simply wanted to spend time with him. It wasn't her fault that sometimes when Kenta came over he wanted to hang out with her instead of Daisuke. That was a something that those two would have to discuss.
Surprisingly, though, Kenta had requested that Lydia go with him to an amusement park. Apparently there was new ride opening up and he wanted to try it out her. Lydia had no idea why he want to ride a roller-coaster with her. When it came to tall, high speed rides, she was an absolute chicken. For some reason, she was paranoid that the ride would fall apart with her on it. Though she pushed her fear aside for Kenta, not wanting to turn down his offer at the last minute.
"Here we go I guess," Lydia says to herself as she walks toward the entrance of the amusement park. She was supposed to meet up with Kenta at the amusement park but she didn't see him anywhere. With a lifted brow, Lydia scowls slightly. "Where does a six foot tall giant hide anyways?" Standing on her tiptoes, Lydia tries to make herself taller in hopes of finding the basketball player. Just when she was about to give up, someone grabs her sides, earning a yelp of surprise and fear to escape Lydia's lips. The person let's go of her sides as they start laughing, letting Lydia know exactly who it was. "Kenta," she scolds as she turns around to face the tall male.
The black haired boy continues to laugh as he runs his fingers through his curly hair. "Oh man, that reaction was priceless, Red," Kenta flashes her a wide smile.
Lydia shoots him a glare while crossing her arms over chest. "I hate you," she pouts, pressing her lips together.
"Don't lie. You know you love me," Kenta pushes aside her comment before placing a hand on her back. He starts walking toward the entrance, guiding Lydia along with him. Once he pays for their way in, he grabs her hand so he has an easier time dragging her along. "I wonder, should I scare you straight off or should I build you up to it?" Kenta muses, mainly to himself.
"How 'bout neither," Lydia injects, not liking what he was planning. If she was to be honest, Lydia really didn't want to ride anything. She would prefer to just eat unhealthy amusement food and play the silly games that were scattered around. Though she knew that Kenta wouldn't let her go to an amusement without riding something.
Lydia was so into her own thoughts that she didn't notice that Kenta had stopped walking. It wasn't until he grabbed her arm that she became aware that he wanted them to stop. Turning around to face him, Lydia arches a brow in order to question him. The look she was giving him causes Kenta to let out an awkward laugh as he scratches the back of his head.
"Actually, I need to ask you something before we start doing anything," he starts off, his voice sounding high pitched.
Lydia shrugs her shoulders before saying, "Okay. Shoot."
An awkward smile spreads across Kenta's face before he opens his mouth only to close it right after. He takes in a deep breath, pausing slightly before letting it out. Opening his mouth again, he says, "Will you go out with me?"
When the words leave his mouth, Lydia could feel her heart beat quicken as heat rises in her cheeks. Did her best friend just ask her out? Her best friend who was one of the most popular boys at their school? What would someone like him see in her? While she was in shock that someone like him would like her, she would be lying if she said she wasn't happy. Lydia did, after all, have a crush on Kenta.
Apparently she was thinking for too long because Kenta let out an awkward chuckle. "Uh, forget I said anything," he states, embarrassment clear in his voice.
Lydia's eyes widen before she shakes her head. "Nah, dude. You have the wrong impression," she says in attempt to clear things up. She didn't mean to make him think she wasn't interested. "I'm just a little shocked that would want someone like me."
"Someone like you?" Kenta scrunches his nose in disbelief. "You mean someone completely amazing because that's what you are. Amazing." He slaps her arm playfully while a smile plays on his face.
Heat spreads across Lydia's face even more. "I'm really not amazing," she mumbles while shifting in her spot and rubbing her arm. "I'm just plain old Lydia," she adds a moment later.
Kenta lifts a brow before shrugging. "Well, plain old Lydia, will you be my girlfriend?"
Lydia bites her lip at the question, her eyes studying the handsome man in front of her. The idea of a relationship terrified her. While she had boyfriends before, she didn't really count them because they were all when she was in middle school. Now that she was in high school, she guessed this would count as her first real relationship. It was terrifying.
Oh well. You can't hide behind a wall forever, Lydia. Taking in a deep breath and letting it out, Lydia nods her head. "Of course," she says, taking a couple steps closer to the tall boy in front of her and wrapping her arms around him.
Takeru stares at Lydia in disbelief. It was clear that he didn't believe when she said that the boy in her drawing was her ex-boyfriend. Lydia didn't blame him, though. She didn't believe herself. How could she have managed to get mixed up with someone as terrifying as Kenta? Well the answer to that was obvious. The guy knew how to play the role of Mr. Nice Guy.
A huff escapes Takeru's lips. "You're joking right?" His voice sounded angry as he stares at the ground.
Lydia pulls her knees up so she could rest her chin on one of them. Wrapping her arms around her legs, she says, "Man, I wish I was."
Silence fills the air around them. Lydia watches Takeru, waiting for him to keep his end of the deal. The bluenette, however doesn't say anything as he glares at the ground. His hand clenches into a fist before he straightens out only to clench it again. He repeats this a few times before a bell goes off, signaling the end of the lunch period. At this sound Takeru stands up, not saying a word to Lydia as he starts to walk away.
Lydia's eye twitches before she jumps up and jogs up to the bluenette. "Hey," she says while grabbing his arm to stop him from walking away. "Are you going to tell me how you know him?"
Golden eyes glare back at Lydia as Takeru yanks his arm away from her. "I was thinking of a different person," he says before marching away from her.
Clicking her tongue, Lydia jogs in front of him. She stops in front of him and places her hands on her hips, sending the Sea God a glare. "I told you how I knew him. It's time for you to keep your end of the deal," she spits.
Takeru grunts before shoving his hands into his pockets. "There's no need for that. We're thinking of two different people. My mistake," he says, sticking to what he had a moment before.
Lydia narrows her eyes at him. Why was he changing his story like that? What was he was trying to hide? "I don't believe you. C'mon. Tell me," she says in a demanding tone, growing agitated.
"Just forget it, Murphy. We're late for class, anyways," Takeru presses, frown lines creasing across his forehead.
A laugh leaves Lydia's lips. "We both know you don't give a damn about class." She didn't whether to find him wanting to go to class amusing or pathetic. It was obvious that he was just trying to avoid answering her questions.
"Will you just mind your own damn business, Murphy," Takeru growls as he takes a couple steps toward her.
The tone of his voice made Lydia flinch as she takes a step back, now crossing her arms over her chest. Biting her lip, she feels tears sting her eyes, threatening to overflow. "You weren't going to tell me to begin with, were you?" She runs her fingers through her hair, pulling on it slightly before letting it go.
Takeru stays quiet as he looks over her. After a moment, he shrugs in indifference. "No," he confesses, not seeming too bothered by her uneven composure.
Lydia bites her lip again before nodding her head. "I see," she mutters before walking closer to him so she was only a few inches away from him. "You know what?" At this question, Takeru lifts his brow, waiting for her to answer her own questions. "You're an ass," she spits.
At this, Takeru laughs. "And you're a rude bitch. What's the difference?"
As soon as the words leave his lips, Lydia's eyes widen like she had been slapped in the face. Without thinking what she was doing, Lydia's fists connects with the Sea God's face, causing him to stagger backwards from shock. Before he could register what happened, Lydia was already walking backwards with her arms held out. "Ya know, fuck you, Totsuka," she calls out to him before turning on her heel to walk toward the school building.
Once Lydia makes it into the building, she admittedly regrets her actions. She had just punched the only god she could actually get along with. So much for doing what Zeus wanted her to do. It wasn't like she really cared though. After all, no one would tell her what she needed to know and none of the gods had ever done anything for her so why should she help them get out of the academy? They could all stay in the academy forever for all she cared. They deserved to stay there considering that they did nothing to help humanity. It was obvious to her that they only cared about themselves.
Holding her head high, Lydia opens the door the classroom, interrupting Thoth's lecture. The Egyptian god narrows his eyes at Lydia as she walks into the classroom, earning attention from everyone in the room. "How nice of you to join us, Murphy," Thoth says as she starts to walk toward her seat.
"Yep," Lydia replies, popping the 'p.'
"Though next time try to make it to class on time. It's becoming a nuisance for you to think you can do what you want," Thoth continues to lecture her.
Lydia clicks her tongue before turning to face the Egyptian god. "You're literally teaching shit I learned back in middle school," Lydia motions toward the board that had notes on the United States of America. "You guys want to know about the USA?" Lydia motions around the room to the gods that were supposed to learning about the human race. Not waiting for an answer, Lydia marches up to the board, grabs the eraser and she erases Thoth's writing before picking up a piece of chalk. She then writes the words:
History of the U.S.A:
White men in power killing and enslaving people in order to expand the country in the name of God.
Turning around, Lydia steps out of the way for the gods to read her writing. As their eyes widen, Lydia knew that they had all finished reading her words. "Every time a country kills a group of people or enslaves them, they say it's in the name of God. In the name of you guys," she waves her hand in the direction of the gods. "Isn't that great? The settlers of North America killed and raped the Native people in the name of you guys. The Trail of Tears was done in the name of God. The expansion westward was done in the name of God. Slavery was done in the name of God. My father died in the name of God since he was fighting in some pointless war in the Middle East," Lydia rants as she paces around the front of the classroom.
"Lydia!" Yui chimes, standing up from her seat as a look of disbelief washes over her face. "Please stop," she pleads.
Huffing, Lydia shakes her head. "No, Yui. I'm tired of everyone acting like they're so high and mighty." She turns her attention back toward the gods only to have it broken by someone entering the room. At the sight of a bluenette holding a bag of ice on his lips, Lydia smiles. "How nice of you to join us, Totsuka. Please have a seat. I'm just getting started," Lydia says while tapping the piece of chalk on her hand.
Takeru furrows his brows as his eyes scan over the words on the board. While still looking confused, he sits beside his brother who was staring at the bag of ice. The Sea God then leans over and asks his brother, "What's her problem?"
Before Tsukito could answer Takeru's questions, Lydia lets out a chuckle. "Let me explain it to you, Totsuka," she then nods her head towards the others, "And the rest of you." She walks behind the podium and rests her arms on it, fiddling with the piece of chalk in her hands. "I used to believe in gods. I used to pray and tried to be on my best behavior and all that good shit. That was until my dad had to go off to war. Every single damn day, I prayed that nothing would happen to him, but he died anyways." Lydia glances over at Hades. "If we ever leave this academy, tell my dad I said hey."
As soon as the words leave her lips, a look of pain and regret flash across the God of the Underworlds face. She didn't have time to say anything else before Apollon jumped up. "Strawberry, please try not to blame anything on Hades," he pleads, a look of hurt and disbelief was painted on his face.
Lydia arches a brow and shrugs. "I wasn't." She waves her hand in dismissal. "After my father died, I was really angry with the 'gods.' I didn't believe that you actually existed. But I wanted to. And I tried to believe in you, before more shit happened. I'm not going to explain what that shit was but I'm going to say it was horrible shit," Lydia spits the last word to get her point across. Flashbacks of Kenta flash through her mind causing Lydia to clench her teeth in order to keep tears from spilling out.
Lydia runs down the street. Well, as much as one could run in heels, something that she sucked at. She was running behind on her date, over an hour behind to be more exact. If it was a regular date, she knew that Kenta wouldn't mind too much. After all, their regular dates consisted of them either going to an amusement park or sitting in bed watching Netflix or hanging out at some other ordinary place. Though this time was different. Kenta's adoptive parents were back home from their trip to Europe and it was supposed to be her first time meeting them. Kenta had managed to book them a table at one of those expensive restaurants in order to make the occasion memorable. Unfortunately that was all ruin because Lydia was running behind. It wasn't her fault, though. Her mother and step-father kept making her do things around the house and wouldn't let her get ready until she finished doing what they wanted her to do. It wasn't like she could tell them no because that would lead to her being grounded and definitely wouldn't be able to meet Kenta's parents.
Once Lydia reaches the restaurant, she stops running in order to catch her breath. Her heart drops once she notices Kenta standing outside the restaurant, a to-go box in his hands. She must have been too late. Running her fingers through her hair and pulling on it slightly, Lydia walks up to Kenta.
"Ken, I am so sorry. Mother and-" Lydia's apology was cut off by Kenta shooting her a glare. "Ken?" She tilts her head to the side, confused by the look he was giving her.
Kenta rubs his hand over his mouth before saying, "How hard is it to be on time, Red?"
Lydia holds hands up in defense. "Mother kept making me do things around the house. I'm so sorry, Ken." She didn't understand why he seemed so angry. It was just a dinner.
"Because you were so late, my parents left." Kenta raises his voice and points toward the street, telling her the direction they left. "Do you have any idea how much it cost me to book us a spot here, Lydia? And now my parents are telling me to break up with you because I shouldn't be dating a girl who can't even show up to a dinner on time," he continues to yell at her, stepping closer to her so he was in her face.
"Ken," Lydia starts, trying to find the right words to say. She had never been the cause of his anger before and it scared her. He had a bad temper and she had witnessed how angry he could get at other people. Never would she had dreamed that she would be the one he was angry at. "It's not that big of a deal."
Kenta's eyes flash with anger before he grabs her arms, yanking her toward him. "Not that big of a deal?" He grips onto her arms harder causing pain to shoot through Lydia's arms.
A yelp of pain escapes Lydia's lips. "Ken, you're hurting me," she cries out, both surprised and terrified by his actions.
A look of realization flashes across Kenta's features he releases Lydia from his grip. "Oh my god, Lydia, I'm so sorry," he apologizes, sounding worried.
Lydia shakes her head. "It's fine," she mumbles. She wraps her arms around herself and takes a few steps away from him. At that moment, she didn't want to be close to him, afraid that he would do something worse.
"Are you okay?" Kenta reaches a hand out to touch only to have Lydia flinch away from him. Pulling his hand back, Kenta bites his lips before turning away from her. "You should go home. I really am sorry, though," he says, not looking at her.
The only thing about that time, was that he wasn't sorry. Kenta was only playing her. After that event, he became quicker to anger and he became more violent. One night he managed to break one of her ribs because she refused to have sex with him. He didn't force anything sexual on her, but the physical violence was just as bad. She didn't know how to get out of the relationship, especially since he was friends with her step-brother. Even if she did break up with him, she would still see him almost every day because of Daisuke.
Though Lydia eventually broke up with him and stayed with Yui for a couple months. She didn't tell Yui why she broke up with Kenta, making it out that he broke up with her and that she was too heartbroken to stay at home without a friend. Yui bought it, not being able to tell that Lydia was in pain because all the things that Kenta had done to her.
And then the stalking happened.
At first he would leave short notes on her desk at school and in her locker. She threw them in the trash. Then he started leaving her presents, mainly jewelry. Like jewelry could make up for the pain he had caused her. She gave them to the girls in the tennis club. After ignoring these, he started leaving notes and presents in her room whenever he came over to visit Daisuke. Seeing that those weren't enough, he started moving things around her room. He would take clothes out her closet, picking out outfits that he thought she looked good in. She threw those clothes away which ending up with her only having a few outfits left and she never owned a dress again.
Eventually he gave up. Or so she thought. It lasted for a month where she didn't see him. Instead of coming over to the house, he had Daisuke meet him somewhere else. If they happened to see each other at school, he would walk the other way and the same happened while they were in public. He deleted her off all his social media. She thought he had really given up on her.
That was until she woke up one night to him standing beside her bed watching her sleep. She didn't have to scream before he managed to cover her mouth with his hand and forced his body on top of her. That's when the sexual harassment started. He never would force her to have sex with him, but she knew that's what he really wanted. She guessed he at least wanted to keep himself from turning into a rapist in order to keep his image. How considerate of him Lydia thought.
To make everything worse, Daisuke walked in on Kenta abusing her one day and he said nothing. Her step-brother took Kenta's side and never mentioned it anyone. When Lydia tried to get him to come with her to tell the police, Daisuke got mad at her and told her to leave his best friend alone. Ever since then she hated her step-brother almost as much as she did Kenta.
Lydia didn't realize that she had been crying as she thought over this until Yui had called out her name. This causes the redhead to look at her friend with confusion. "You're crying," Yui points out in concern.
Lydia's eyes widen at her friends words, causing her to wipe her eyes with her sleeves. Looking back at the gods in the room, she points at them. "I hate every single one of you," she starts as more tears spill out of her eyes. "Don't talk to me, don't try to be my friend. I don't want anything to do with any of you." She slams the piece of chalk on the podium before marching to the back of the classroom to grab her things.
Once she grabs her books, she marches back up to the front of the classroom to the door. Before leaving, she turns back around to face the gods. "Seriously, fuck all of y'all," she spits before marching out of the room.
